To whoever may be reading this,

I wanted to do another closing yearly review thing. Something I haven't done since 2021, which was a awful year through and through. I kinda touched on my life in a few other past journals over the years, but I haven't done a yearly review in ages. Warning, things are gonna get sappy and sad but I promise it's positive.

Grandma

The year didn't open out all that well. My grandma, on my mum's side, passed away in February. Even though she was far away and not a huge part of my life in recent years it was still a sad loss, another place and person in my life who I will never see again. But I'll always have the memories and be glad that I knew her for as long as I live. My good friend   etsu_cuprumfox also painted a lovely artistic rendition of her cottage home. So, besides the memories, I will always have something physical to remember her and her place in the world by. Along with a few other knick-knacks of course.

Norway

But as a tonal opposite, come March, I organised and travelled to Norway by myself. Something I would do another two times throughout the year. The first time, I travelled to Trondheim, the old medieval capital of Norway. With their beautiful old cathedral and fort, rows of beautiful old colourful homes. It certainly was cold but I had great company, in the form of   jegermaistro to keep me warm and show me around. I'm really glad I had them for this trip. They were a great help in making me feel comfortable and recommending nice places for me to see. Something they would continue on my second trip in June, taking me hiking in the hills around Trondheim and along the coasts of the fjord.

Also on this trip, I also met someone else, Reple, who was great company and someone who I really enjoyed spending time with. I met them in Oslo and they were just so easy and talkative. They also recommended a great food place which is all it takes to get into my good books, for those wondering ;). They'd also recommended a new furry convention in Norway. More in this in the Furnavia section.

Relationship stuff

Coming back down to sad town, this year was the end of my first ever proper relationship. Me and   malokai~ unfortunately broke up. I'm so glad I got to be with them for as long as I did. The good times we shared still make me smile today, and probably will for years to come. They made me feel so loved, secure and happy, but by the turn of this year I couldn't help but notice the lack of those feelings anymore. There's no drama and things ended on good terms so there's no need to worry. I also won't get too much into details to avoid creating drama. However this was definitely a landmark event in the year. While it had to happen for the good of both of us, it left me feeling incredibly heartbroken and lonely. At times this year, I've been the saddest I've been in a while and considered taking my own life on several occasions. But as mentioned, it had to happen and if course I'm still here so things look to be okay for now. Plus, we can now both move forward and find what we really need and want from our lives.

Furnavia and furry stuff

As hinted at earlier, this year would see my first furry convention ever. The second year of Furnavia, a convention held in Kristiansand, Norway. It was quite a small con, only around 300 attendees, however this made the perfect cozy first con experience. It was expertly organised and staffed by some awesome people. While there, I got to meet and see loads of cool people, including one of my favourite artists   xnirox who I could barely contain my nerves and excitement for. Talk about embarrassing.

It got me feeling really proud of this fandom and really made me want to start embrace the IRL sides to it. I've been looking into getting a Fursuit and been regularly attending LFM and will be attending NFC next year. Along with some other cons too. This feels really great as I'd grown bored of a lot of furry stuff last year and was considering dropping it all. But exploring the IRL side has given me a new passion and interest for all things furry, so buckle up. There's more furry stuff coming your way.

Conclusion

That's really the big stuff from this year. Besides that I've mostly be working and bouncing between suicidal depression and bouncing positivity. That is to say, I've been tremendously sad this year, but I've also had a lot of great experiences and can sense really great change in myself and coming to my life in 2025 (knock on wood). Hopefully I'll be mentioning it all in my next yearly review and it will be positive.

For now though I'd like to say thank you for reading, if you did. I'm not really expecting people to read or care. I just wanted to write this and get some thoughts out of my head and onto something.

I recently hit 1000 watchers and I wanted to thank you all so much! It really means a lot that so many people would be interested in my character(s) enough to watch me. So I was thinking right, for 1000 watchers (if I ever reach that) I'd do like a raffle where I'd pick maybe one or two people to get a piece with my sona Peter. Like it would be all paid for and work like a YCH.

I've seen people do YCHs with their own character already and thought it would be cool. Especially as a way of thanking you guys.

I just wanted to jot down a few quick things about this year, mainly because I did it last year. The big problem is: last year, despite sucking balls also brought about a lot of change for me. Some of which was positive.

Whereas, this year I feel a lack of progression and real meaning. I've mostly just existed and maintained the status quo. I got a small part time job in a cafe which is something, my first job. But that's really it. I've also met some cool new people and gotten more cool art. But I did that last year too.

I suppose I should just be glad nothing went too bad and hope that next year will be better. Hopefully a first class honours degree (though more likely a 2i) and a cool job I enjoy. But most importantly someone to achieve those things with.

In summary, 2021, it's got a little something for everybody.

Hello there everyone reading this! I hope you're having an amazing time wherever you may be and whoever you may be with.

This is my first time writing a journal entry/post thingy. I just wanted to talk about this year.

And what a year it's been! Not for the best reasons I know, but I'm feeling really festive at the moment and I hope you are too.

At the start of this year I'd already gotten a few commissions (with my old blue antlers) and was starting to really get into this furry thing. I even started chatting with a few furries online, but I was super awkward since I hadn't really done it before.

But as this turbulent year went on I bumped into so many amazing wonderful people I never ever would have met in a million years otherwise. I even had my first relationship! And though it didn't last till the end of this year I'm thankful for the experience! It taught me so much about myself and what it's like to be loved. It was also him who convinced me to begin uploading my artwork. Which changed my year so much for the better!

Which brings me to you! Thank you for being here, for reading this and if you're one of the people who leave favourites and nice comments thank you for that as well. You mean more to me than you might realise.
And of course, thank you to all the artists who brought all my art to life with their bottomless talent!!

The message I'm trying to convey through all my ramblings is this: It hasn't been the best this year, but I'm still happy it happened. Happy for the good that has come from the on going darkness that surrounds us.

You are amazing, and I wish you an amazing time this holiday season.
