I wasn't actually tagged, you know.
Posted 17 years ago(updated from my post thing on dA. 'Cause I could. And I'm having trouble making my characters not sound too damn stereotypical. Though I'm seeing a pattern in Jenki's answers. About how everything in Norway is frozen.)
.:Rules:.
1. Choose a few of your own characters. Five at the most
2. Make them answer the following questions
3. Then tag three people.
Characters: Jenki Follesdal, Dunraz Thorulfssen, Olaf Leifson, Calhoun O'Connell, Derek Volkov
1) How Old Are You?
Jenki: Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. . .
Dunraz: Fifty-one. Pretty young, still.
Olaf: Twenty.
Calhoun: Twenty-nine.
Derek: Yeah, I'm twenty-eight.
2) Height?
Jenki: 6'5" or thereabouts. . .
Dunraz: Around 6'10".
Olaf: 6'2"-ish.
Calhoun: . . .5'8".
Derek: Like, 5'10", I guess.
3) You Got Any Bad Habits??
Jenki: Not really.
Dunraz: I still try talking to birds a lot. Trust me: seagulls can't hold good conversation.
Olaf: Well, admittedly, I am rather pessimistic.
Calhoun: -shrug-
Derek: I don't think so.
4) You a virgin?
Jenki: Of course not.
Dunraz: I've had my fun. . .-adopts dreamy look-
Olaf: Er, no.
Calhoun: Fuck no.
Derek: Not to my knowledge.
5) Who's your Mate/Spouse?
Jenki: I don't have a life-long mate. Seeing as they will always die before me, it's kind of pointless.
Dunraz: Well, I once. . .Yeah. . .But that was a long time ago.
Olaf: I have a fiancee back home named Helga.
Calhoun: Nobody right now.
Derek: Yeah, same, no one.
6) Have Any Kids?
Jenki: Probably, somewhere. All most likely growing up to become black metal vocalists or something. Maybe they've sprouted wings and everything by now. Huh.
Dunraz: Not that I know of. I hope I don't have kids, anyway. Too much trouble.
Olaf: No, not yet.
Calhoun: Somehow I doubt it.
Derek: Er. Yeah, same here.
7)Favourite Food?
Jenki: Ah, fish. Almost any kind of fish. In America, for example, you have grouper. . .and cod. . .and tuna in little cans without the bones in it.
Dunraz: Venison. I suppose.
Olaf: Er, I never really thought about it.
Calhoun: To be honest with you, I kind of dig McDonalds.
Derek: -prods Calhoun's stomach- Salads are good with me. With caesar dressing.
Calhoun: -slaps Derek's hand- Don't. Fucking. Touch me.
8) Favourite Ice Cream flavour?
Jenki: In Norway, there is no such thing as ice cream. All cream is frozen.
Dunraz: What, now?
Olaf: I don't eat whatever that is.
Calhoun: I don't eat sweets much, unless I'm feeling really down.
Derek: Strawberry. Of course, all this may stem for a love of all things pink.
9) Killed anyone?
Jenki: Of course! You know the Inquisition? Yeah, I don't like to brag that much, but I was there. Settin' your churches on fire, causing mischief in general. . .
Dunraz: Naturally.
Olaf: Well, it's sort of my job. And that first fellow - he gouged my eye out! The man deserved it.
Calhoun: That's sort of, you know, illegal where I come from.
Derek: Yeah, no, that's not exactly my forte.
10) Hate anyone?
Jenki: Well, yes.
Dunraz: Not particularly. Unless they do something to make me hate them.
Olaf: Some people deserve to be hated. However, most people do not. (Nice logic, there.)
Calhoun: Yes. -raises eyebrow (or lack thereof?) toward Derek-
Derek: Oh, get over yourself.
11) Any Secrets?
Jenki: Not really. I'm a rather open person.
Dunraz: Yes, a few.
Olaf: No, there's no need for secrets.
Calhoun: Of course. God, as if I would tell anyone, though. There's a reason they're called 'secrets'.
Derek: Same here. . .
12) Love Anyone?
Jenki: Well, not really. I once thought I did but he turned on me and I realized I didn't have any genuine feelings toward him in the first place.
Dunraz: No. I love Olaf as a friend, but in a romantic sense I do not love anyone.
Olaf: Well, I love my fiancee. And, er, Dunraz, I love you, too. Never thought I would have to say that.
Calhoun: Ugh. . .It's hard to explain. I want to love someone, but I can't make myself.
Derek: Not really. Sorry to burst your bubble, Calhoun.
Calhoun: -rolls eyes-
13) TACOS?
All: Dude, wtf.
14) Ever slept in All day?
Jenki: Yes, of course.
Dunraz: Well, maybe once. . .Just once. Hangovers. . .Too much mead, you know how that goes.
Olaf: No, I've always had too much work to do around home.
Calhoun: A few times. . .I guess. I mean, yeah.
Derek: Duh. Haha, what did you think?
15) Eye colors?
Jenki: Like a glacier in dimming sunlight - a very pale color, that reminds you of a cold winter day.
Dunraz: In other words, blue. Mine are, as well.
Olaf: Brown.
Calhoun: Greenish-grey.
Derek: Brown.
16) Hair?
Jenki: It's brown, and wavy, and sort of fluffy.
Dunraz: White-blonde, and it looks like someone might've bred straight and wavy hair.
Olaf: It's black. I was cursed with dark hair and eyes.
Calhoun: Auburn, I guess, leaning towards red, pin-straight. If you must know.
Derek: It's hot pink and wavy, just the way I like it.
17) Fat/Average/Slim?
Jenki: Er, well, I'm rather muscular, if anything, though in some places I'm sort of squishy. . .
Dunraz: Slim, I suppose.
Olaf: Muscular, as well.
Calhoun: I don't know, nor do I care.
Derek: You're skinny, Calhoun, stick-thin. I, on the other hand, am just slim.
18) Rain, sunshine?
Jenki: I prefer rain, myself. In Norway, there's no such thing as rain, though. It's just frozen rain. Snow.
Dunraz: Give me sunshine any day and I'll be happy.
Olaf: Sunshine, of course. Especially when I'm out at sea.
Calhoun: I don't know, the rain sort of cheers me up on bad days.
Derek: Sunshine, please!
19) Pool, Beach?
Jenki: There are no beaches in Norway. The water's all frozen, like ice.
Dunraz: There are so beaches. They're just cold, is all. I prefer being on land to anything else - after all, I am a nature spirit, and what can be found in the ocean?
Olaf: The beach - what is a pool, again, in the sense you're using it? And yes, there are beaches in Norway. And, Dunraz, everything of great interest happens at sea.
Dunraz: /Everything?/
Calhoun: Neither. I don't go anywhere that requires me to show too much skin. You wouldn't want to see it anyway.
Derek: -mutters- That's for sure. I prefer the pool, myself.
20) Camping, staying home?
Jenki: Home, please. As much as I like flowers, I don't like the wilderness.
Dunraz: Camping, in a sense, is all I ever do. But then the place I camp is also my home.
Olaf: I prefer staying home, but I have a mission to accomplish.
Calhoun: Staying home.
Derek: I like both, really.
21) Dog, Cat?
Jenki: Cats, for sure! I have a white cat, too, who's nameless. I've been meaning to name it(?) for a long time, but. . .well, it's called Fluffycat. -bloosh-
Dunraz: I prefer birds to everything else.
Olaf: Dogs. Hounds are the most loyal of creatures.
Calhoun: I'm allergic to both. Prefer dogs, though.
Derek: I'm more of a cat person.
22) Believe in aliens?
Jenki: No, not really.
Dunraz: Er, what?
Olaf: What in the name of Hanged-tyr are you talking about?
Calhoun: Uh, no.
Derek: It's possibly. Definitely possible.
23) What do you do to relax?
Jenki: I sit and read a good book in some sort of warm lodge.
Dunraz: I speak with tree and water nymphs. They offer very good advice.
Olaf: I sleep, of course. A dream is the best place of refuge.
Calhon: I listen to loud, preferably angry, music.
Derek: I just calm down on my own.
24) Car or Ship..?
Jenki: Well, cars do odd things to a person's ears.
Dunraz: Ship, of course! What is a car in the first place?
Olaf: I'd have to say my own ship.
Calhoun: Car, of course. Who uses ships these days?
Derek: Car - what'd you think?
25) What is your job?
Jenki: Oh, I don't really have one. I provide for myself or convince people to give me money or an easy job that pays well.
Dunraz: I do not have one.
Olaf: Well, I am a seafaring man now. . .
Calhoun: I do whatever odd jobs pop up in the area.
Derek: Ugh, I've been jobless for quite some time now. I'm thinking about actually letting Tony stay here a while if he can help me with the rent.
26) Any Unusual Things about you?
Jenki: You'd have to be a complete imbecile not to notice.
Dunraz: Yes, many, compared to humans. But to other Jotnar I'm fairly normal. I'm just half-jotun, is the only thing that makes me different. (That must have been a strange experience for Dunraz's mother.)
Olaf: Not particularly.
Calhoun: No eyebrows. Just look at me for a second, would you.
Derek: Haha. Just my hair. I'm a pretty normal guy aside from that.
27) Boy or girl?
Jenki: Male.
Dunraz: I'm male, as well.
Olaf: Same here.
Calhoun: . . .
Derek: Jeez. Talk about sausage fest.
28) Favourite Place?
Jenki: By a fireplace in the winter-time with a mug of cocoa and a copy of Faust.
Dunraz: In my little cottage in the woods. . .
Olaf: In the open sea, though I do get homesick sometimes.
Calhoun: In bed. . .
Derek: Oh, god, same here. I'm tired.
I tagged. . .ABSOLUTELY NO ONE. HA.

Astral plane (geeky stuff)
Posted 17 years agoThis was weird. Like, really weird, but no worse than my usual meditations. I'm still on the fence about whether I believe in the astral plane or not. It's a fine line. . .
Anyway, I was trying to meditate, but didn't think I'd get very far because of all the noise in the background (it was midday). So you can imagine that I was sort of shocked when I felt like there was someone close to me. You know, like close-close. Like, within a couple of feet close. And it felt as though they were tugging on my arms - well, not exactly felt, but more like I was aware of the feeling. So then I was in a sort of third-person perspective looking at myself and this stranger, and it was pulling me out of what looked like a liquid wall. Back in first-person, I pondered whether this being was male or female - at first I had taken it for female, but then noted masculine characteristics. Let me start off with a physical description: he (I don't know, I'll call it that) had hair that was red - not ginger-red, but actual red - and fair skin (or at least it looked fair in comparison to the fellow's hair) and eyes of a nondescript color. I found that somehow I did not feel timid at all around this creature who seemed to barely retain its form. He seemed to be a manifestation of all the things I had ever wanted or wanted to be.
We were in my white hall. I don't remember the exact words spoken, but he told me that if I would go outside and see that rainbow that I could explore my past lives, color by color, flavor by flavor. All in all, he was not mean, but he was not nice (though a bit mischievous in character). And so I let him lead me out there, hand-in-hand, and back in my own body, I could feel my hand moving to accomodate someone else's, and I'd never been so aware of the mechanics of my own hand in my life. So, as I was saying, we went outside, and all looked perfect and beautiful and all that rot, and there was a rainbow set suspiciously close to the ground. An oak tree that was almost black - from what I do not know - was at the far right of my vision, and the red-haired fellow said that if I climbed up there, I'd be able to reach the rainbow.
And once I got up there the thing was more reminiscent of a bridge than a rainbow (for which I have Norse mythology to thank), but it still looked liquid and bright, so I sort of dived in, and here is what I saw:
In Red, I was in a dark room with only one window, and I could see searchlights. Outside, dozens of pale-faced soldiers marched in formation.
In Orange, there was a woman sitting on the floor of a kitchen or some other tiled-place staring up at me. A man helped her up. All I really remember besides that is the fact that I had green eyes(?).
I didn't get any farther. For some reason, I was frightened, though not by anything in particular.
