Problem...
General | Posted 10 years agoOk, so I have finished getting what I need on my new hard drive and have started to notice something odd going on.
So far it has only been Steam and subsequent games on there with the problems.
Here is what happens:
With Steam I close it out or it starts up on reboot. The "Checking for updates" box appears and then nothing. Steam is on the list for 'Processes' but takes 10 minutes to pop up and be usable.
The same with Left for Dead 2, but worse. "Preparing to launch L4D2". And it never launches once that window closes out. It is also in the 'process' under task manager, but there is no usable window, no interface to do anything with. No music, nothing.
I have waited for like 20 minutes, then the program launches.
What could be causing the programs to not launch immediately?
All other programs, VLC, Mozilla and so on launch just fine.
Steam is installed on my Main hard drive (Dive E), while L4D2 is installed on a separate 2tb HD( Drive F), but both have the same problems. The file paths are fine, as the shortcuts and launch options go to the other HD.
Tried uninstalling the game, reinstalling and also removing all the Mods (They just replace the guns in game, but still act exactly the same. A new model/skin really, no fundamental changes to magazine size, fire rate ect.) Still nothing...
Never had this problem and all the 'fixes' look like trolls to be honest.

Had an idea hit me...
General | Posted 10 years agoOk, take Jumanji as seen in the movie. All of the oddities that happen, the game's ability to summon things to support how the game is supposed to be experienced. The vines, the animals, it seems that the game is able to conjure up whatever is needed to give the players an experience.
Now imagine Jumanji as an entirely different board game. A kinky type 'Jumanji'.
"Big and weighty or small and slender, time for you to swap your gender."
"Some in life just can't hack it, for the rest of the game you're stuck in a straitjacket."
"Dripping down upon your face, in rubber your form will be encased."
Something like that, a little story or comic, where the players get inevitably screwed by the kinky rolls they have.

The reaper calls for my HD
General | Posted 10 years agoThe slow constant humming of my hard drive has been happening for a few weeks now. Yesterday it started a slow tailspin into the void known as death, the response time is slowing down to almost nothing. Programs take 2-3 minutes to pop open and are unusable at this point. It takes 10 minutes to get on my desktop.
So here's to you, Hitachi Hard drive from 2008, a faithful servant operating twenty four hours a day since then. I do turn it off occasionally, but a month of being off versus close to 8 years of being ON constantly has taken it's toll.
All my data is safe, I pulled off the MOST important stuff last night, and transferred over the videos and music today to another HD. Aside from game saves (Woo, I can replay them 'new' now!) I have managed to get everything good.
I have 2 other HD's inside my desktop. A 1TB and a 2TB, going to reformat the 2TB (Never use it really, nothing is on it) and use that as the OS drive.
Now I am off to reformat the drive and re-download everything. Steam, Skype and so on. So It will be at least a day till I am back at operating capacity, perhaps longer, as I have alot of stuff to download....

Something interesting...
General | Posted 10 years agoIt would be funny if I was actually a different artist, but me, Dombrus as well. Maybe all my natural life I have been left handed, always was and always will be, naturally using my left hand to write. My left hand eventually found art, began to always naturally draw out beautiful images with vivid depths to it. Every detail wrought out across the paper, as easily on the computer or any other meduim.
But the right hand does not know what the left does, aware of it's talent, but markedly different. What if I taught the right hand to draw different, to draw only but the ilk that creeps amongst the dark, in the shadows and recesses in the mind. The art is blunt, almost self aware within it. These need to have no grand plan to them, no wonders to behold or secrets to be discovered. Drawn out images of the flesh, as an idea, an expression meant to connect with the things we find truely pleasureable in life.
Both hands, both in command of the mind, as seperate or as one. The left drawing out what others would consider 'masterpieces', thought drenched works. Ones where the viewer sees and can imagine themselves in what you have created, can play along perfectly with this small slice of imagination. Feeling the joy, the sorrow, taking in the atmoshpere of the location and being there in the cool mist or warm sun. These are meant to be pure, without strife, captures of life to experience peace of mind.
He draws them both and manages the professional with the personal, never letting them cross, never letting any trace of the other bleed into the separate worlds. Managing to draw in two crowds for each half of his work, both unaware that the other exists. Even if side by side, the two different styles would never be recognized as similar in any way, even though they are created by the same person.

New year
General | Posted 10 years agoYep, just like the rest of the 'New year's have always been, it's here.
Fallout 4 was amazing.
Did some decent art.
I did re-arrange my art site:
http://dombrus.lfox.co/
I finally learned to work with the code there. Thank you 2004 HTML class XD SO I added a 2016 gallery, though it's probably not going to be as slick and smooth as the other pages have.
Some stuff I haven't uplaoded anywhere else is there.
I need to finish up a story, pick back up on another one and so on.

The Road here...
General | Posted 10 years agoIt's been a long one, and I have reached two milestones in the past month.
I like round numbers XD and the unmber 226. But I was looking at my views on my page and noticed that it was at 200K views. That scrubbed any 200k picture I wanted to do, as it happened when iw asn't paying attention XD. It's too far over now to bother.
1000 uploaded pictures
If you count the scraps I have pu tup recently, the 1000th picture was:
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/18018065/
A birthday picture on my birthday none the less!
Here are ones that have come close depending on what you count and don't:
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/18029295/
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/18038595/
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/18057003/
Now, I could go count the scraps, and make a celebratory 1000th picture. As many scraps as I have, there are 34 more pictures to go before I have 1000 submitted pictures in my ain gallery. So a 1k Pic is possible, and I shall think about it.
I want to say it's been a long road here, but looking back at it, and my 10 years on FA right now it feels like such a short ammount of time from this point.
I've made alot of friends in the past decade, lost contact with some and some have stayed in contact.(Some kinda... disappeared from my group, but are still active otherwise, but remain silent in my attempts to contact them) Friends that have helped shape me into what I am today, helped me through hard times and freinds that have created hard times.
Life isn't easy, and I have learned in my time here that the less shit I cause for other people, maybe they will cause less shit for others, and looking forward to the day when no one causes shit for anyone anywhere. I try to be the friend that I want to have. I want to listen and I'll tell you when I don't. I ask to explian what they mean, so that they can tell me what/how they feel about something, good or bad. Most of all I like to think, I want to know everything, because problems arise when you don't know or won't ask.
I've never really done a milestone journal, or not one that I can remember, so I don't really know how these things tend to go. I've seen some where they link a few favorite pictures, tag some friends, ect. I can't really do that, or just look at my submissions. At one point in time, each picture was important to me, because I made it. I took the time to set out and make a picture that made me happy or someone else.
Each friend is/was important to me. Even the ones that have cut themselves off from me, or I cut them off. Because for good or for bad, you all have shaped me into what I am today. Every interaction, trade and so on is all part of an experience that has been our lives. I don't want to say I don't have time for everyone, I'd love to get to know each one of you that is active here for whatever length of time, but it would be an impossible task.
I've come to understand, or accept that I may not understand the people that I pushed away close to 2 years ago now. Things have happened, problems were created and solved, attitudes were angered and sorrowed in this process. I have come to understand that it is the way things have happened. Keeping a grudge has done me no good, it has infact done more bad. It wasn't an easy thing, as I have come to realize that there is alot of reasons for things, both in or out of my/other's controls. What happened, happened, placing blame on anyone is a useless gesture as it doesn't solve anything. I hold no resentment towards anyone, as hard as that may be to beleive.
FA isn't youtube, there aren't hundreds of millions of viewers here. (I don't know the official active FA user stats) So there isn't any specific point where things avalanche into absurd portions, but I have noticed alot of growth over the past few years. I can't say I know what popular is and I can't say I don't want to be 'popular', but whatever people deem me worthy of, I guess I shall take what is given XD.
Plans
I don't have official plans, a point where I want to be or goals. I think those are limiting, funneling effort and time into making something happen all while ignoring things that pop up and may be good ideas.
So instead I will go where my muse takes me, draw what pops into my head or what inspires me to draw something along those lines. I've bene trying to define what I draw, what I do and what kind of artist to call myself. I do alot of transformations, rubber, fetish, snuffish stuff, bondage and all of any gender or species. I'd list what all you'd see here, but I don't know anyone that doesn't know already and new people to my page aren't likey to get this far in the journal.
One thing that I can;t understand is the few people that have sent a note "I unwatched because of x". I watch a few artists where I don't like everything they do, but the things I do like tend to be something worth watching them for. When I see something I don't like, I merely pass it up and move on.
People tend to hate, downrate, and comment "OMG, Disgusting!" on the pictures they do not like. They actively look at a picture they don't like or agree with, they put a comment down in that picture's page. People willingly take time out of their day to do something active on a thing they don't like. Why bother?
Why freely choose to give up your time for something that is meaningless? Take your energy and put it into something you like, devote your energy to making what you like better and don't waste it. I've come across pictures that are not my thing, but I found elements inside it that I do like. I save it or not and move on, I spend my time and energy looking for what I like, thinking about what I like and leave what I don't like to others, let them be unbothered with their interests.
Well, it has been an intersting decade to say the least. I don't know what they next 10 years will hold, but it will happen as it happens.
Time to unfurl the canvas of my muse and check the spinning compass of life. There is a sunrise on the horizon and events to fill the sails and push me along. Take the helm, life is the biggest adventure anyone can set forth on.

Fallout 4
General | Posted 10 years agoSince it's release, I have been going at Fallout for like a chronic masterbator at their genitles. It was released on November 10th and to this day I have put in 42 hours so far.
First thoughts:
Now, Bethesda didn't use super graphics, or post-recording polishing over the video. They crafted a story, poured heart and soul into it and once they were satisfied, moved onto the graphics. This left them with not as much time as usual for other games. The graphics are on a lower level than other AAA games, but don't worry, they make up for that with the world and it's story. Littel hints of information of past lives left on terminals, scraps of paper to tell the story of the aftermath and what happened. To make you feel that in this universe, there were those that were ignorant, some approached the war with a steadfast meduim hand, preparing where they could and hoping that it was all for naught.
Never has a game but you in this situation than Fallout 4. You get in game and putter around the house, looking at everything new and unblemished. Grass is green, houses are vibrantly colored along with the cars, it would seem a paradise as you are preparing for a speech.
Visited by Vaul-Tec and filling out your specialties to reserve a spot, if only to get that pesky representative coming around.
The vault fresh on your mind, you tend to your child, who despite the cold arms of your robot-servant, Codsworth when new most dire reaches you. The television spits out what they know, flashes, disarray, stations being knocked off the air. It's happened.
Rushing to the vault and barely getting below ground as the concussion wave rips over your head, you get into your vault and are safe...
******
I was stunned by how they decided to showcase the beginning. Stunned by how conversation feels, that everyone you talk to feels important. It no longer feels like staring at someone and clicking boxes to get a response. Though early in the game, the conversations tend to 'jump around' and cut off some dialouge. Later on it cleared up.
Every character is interesting, garnering your complete attention as they speak. Some are the simple wastelanders who have it rough, others have a detailed backstory and can entertain your for a long while.
The voice acting is top notch, and there are a lot of voices this time around. I don't think I have heard a duplicate voice yet, but I am only 50% of the way through the game by my estimates.
Like Skyrim, action still goes on in the background. Though they have yet to perfect the errant NPC from walking infront of you when talking, though camera angle changes to help with that, it's still not perfect. It overall is an improvement of Skyrim's system.
Movement no longer feels... blocky. It is a far cry from the newer games that have you tap a button and effortlessly mantle an obstacle. Running is smooth and sprinting can really help to get places faster in addition to hightailing it out of combat. The 3'rd person animations are even better, no longer herky jerking about as they are smooth.
Looting is a bit odd.
No longer do you go into a menu and select what you want (You can still do that though). Looting has changed into a little menu that you get when pointing at something. A small list appears in real time and you can scroll wheel and higlight what you want, pressing "E" to take it. The good stuff, Stimpacks, caps and ammo are at the top of the list, weapons below that and then armor. It has streamlined the 'take shit' process. But it takes a while to get used to. I'm putting this in the loot section, as it should be, but a word of ease. Safes you leave behind, either from missing them or not enough skill usually contain a few things: Caps/prewar money, ammo, a shitty pipe weapon and some crafting resource. Don't feel too bad if you miss or can't open one, they really dont hold anything TOO valuable.
Combat.
Probably the biggest improvment overall in the series. This is going to twist alot of nipples, because this a cringe worthy parallel. For or against, Call of Duty does only one thing well, the gunplay. So when I compare the combat system having changed into a CoD style combat, it's not a detriment, but rather a compliment. The guns feels weighty, they have a sense of recoil, impact and feel great. Overall, the combat is easy to slide into and almost effortless if you are an FPS whore and play mostly them.
They added in a melee/grenade button (I reccomend immediately rebinding it to a mouse button, M4 or something). Press once for a melee attack and HOLD it to toss a grenade/mine you have selected like a weapon. It's frustrating at first, tossing a grenade at your feet when trying to melee, but you eventually learn.
VATS is still there, but I have found it totally unnecessary. I use it only to do a critical strike on a really tough enemy. You can get away with never using it and you will do fine.
Guns.
There is a big change to the guns in the game. They went for a "Borderlands" gun set up where there are the base models, named special models and then the improved models. A 10mm pistol may be called "Tactical Powerful 10mm", or have a special name "Betty's Shooter" or something like that. You need to pay attention to these pre-fixes, as they mean different things. "Assassin" pre-fix means that it does more damage against humans, "Troubleshooter" does more against robots. Some may be plasma impregnated, doing a status effect with each shot. I recently found a 44 Magnum with an explosive effect, it's great. Some do more damage during the day or night and so on. You can modify these guns to your heart's desire without loosing the elemental/special effect.
Some enemies are harder than the others, indicated with a Star by their name and they always have better special loot. It can be guns or armor, but they always have something.
Pipe weapons are plentiful, and pieces of shit. I got away from using them as fast as possible.
Power armor.
You get it really early on in the game, but the dynamics of how it works have vastly changed. No longer is it something you wear all the time. It's billed as ALOT of protection, but at a cost. The armor is a standalone piece of equipment, requiring a power source, Fusion Cores, to run at it's full potential. When the core is dead and you have no more, you can't sprint or use VATS. Don't worry, you tend to find cores laying around alot. I had found 2-3 in just one outing, as they usually are in every building or subway ect... Provided you have sufficient lockpick or computer skills, you can always get them. They are rediculously expensive to buy, 600+ caps sometimes, so just scavange around for them.
Best thing to do with power armor is leave it sit at whatever you call home. Go out in the wasteland, survey the area and decide if you NEED power armor to survive. Any pre war military place it's a MUST you take it, as some of the robots/turrets inside will catch you by surprise, then blow up in your face when they die. So take it on those missions.
Power armor can also break, blowing off pieces of the leg/chest ect wich have to be repaired before they can go back on and provde protection.
Crafting.
In the world you need parts to make weapon add ons, buildings and repairing your power armor. It gets confusing as to what has what in it as a part. When in the crafting table and you don't have a resource, press "T" and it will mark that resource. Once out in the world, any item you can take will have a magnifying glass by it, letting you know it has something you are looking for inside it. If you want to get rid of that option, gather that resource and press "T" again in the crafting menu to clear it from your list. The best way to get resources early on is to PICK UP EVERYTHING and stick it in Dog Meat's ass for storage. Fast travel back to the workshop, unload Dog Meat and go to any crafting table in your home and dump it all inside. You can acess everything in your home's global inventory and on your person.
Alot of mods require the perks, "Gun Nut" for guns and "Science!" for laser weaponry. Choose accordingly on what you want to do.
Building/Settltments.
Don't go hogwild with these early on, as you can get stuck having to defend them constantly early on. Running back and making sure no one dies and no shit is stolen. You can build buildings and objects with impunity, though rather than scrap something you built, put it in the inventory, cause you only get a fraction of the parts you built it with back when scrapping. The menu is a bit shitty, I'd reccomend looking up a tutorial cause I can't explain it all here. But build yourself a house with storage for all your shit.
You get a few people early on in the game, and are taken through a turotial. Make stuff for them and build a few defenses. Just whatever you do, don't put up a broadcast tower that recruits new people. And if you want to go hogwild with the settlements, don't let your food/water supply ever out number your defense points, bad things happen.
Character building.
Probably not to much stress on this. But early game really depends on how you build your character. You get 21 points to spread over 7 stats. Plan for stuff you want early. Use a character builder website and see what you get with certain loadouts.
Now, you can do 2 things when leveing up. Put 1 point into any SPECIAL stat, or put a level into 1 perk. With this, you can put a point into SPECIAL every 5 levels to start unlocking some good stuff later on. I HIGHLY recocmend putting Luck so you can get "Ammo Scrounger", as you will choke for ammunition early on. Make it easy on yourself and at least spend your first level in unlocking it, you will thank yourself later.
Skill magazines and bobble heads add special things, dammage/bonuses to skills. Covert Ops manuals add +3% to sneak and so on for the other ones. Bobble Heads for skills do the same, The SPECIAL ones remain the same, adding +1 to the special it represents.
Caps/Supplies.
Get "Ammo Scrounger" early on, it's a great help, and any ammo you don't use can be traded for caps. 38 ammo especially, as you get better weapons in about 1-2 hours of play and can ditch the shitty pipe weapons then, but that ammo still piles up. 556 can be sold early on as well, as the Assault Rifle that uses it appeared only after 30 hours of play time. 50 cal is plentiful, so sell that early on as well. Keep 10mm and 12ga shells and the energy weapon stuff. The rest can be used to drain traders of caps.
Caps are plentiful out in the wastes, don't bother cap counting, just get what you want (Ammo is a priority) and sell the ammo you don't use to balance out the transaction. I haven't paid attention to my caps and haven't sold anything hardcore by making trips to traders regularly and managed to build up 20K caps rather fast. The hardest thing to keep up with is supplies for crafting.
The World.
The world is huge, and 90% of it is open to explore without loading screens. Alot of interiors are just walk into areas, but some of the larger more complicated areas require a load to get into. Factory buildings, subterranian areas and so on need a load. But everything else can be explored as an open world. Lots of cool locations and sights to see. Though it's best early on to stick to the areas from the start to Diamond City for the time being. Once you have some armor, and a few levels under your belt, feel free to branch out. And remember you have power armor for some of the tougher areas. Just make sure to have the resources to repair it once it get's fucked up, and will get messed up.
Overall, Fallout 4 is a welcome change to the series. There are still a few bugs that need to be worked out (I have a glitched quest, the required character WILL NOT move). Dialouge issues early on and the lip synch needs to be tuned. No crashes or loading issues as Bethesda games are known for.
The building has som issues, snapping for istance is a big one, and overall lack of unique stuff to build other than the same old wooden or metal buildings. Maybe fixing up places to look construction new would be nice.
No game breaking bugs yet, just little annoyances.
I can't say too much on the graphics, as my Nvidia 750 can run the game only on LOW, but videos from others look amazing. But again, it's Bethesda, expect a great story and world, but don't put too much stock in the graphics. Just wait until the 2K and 4K texture mods come out, as well as ENB's to make the game even better.
Bottom line.
Is Fallout 4 good?
Yes
Is it fun?
Yes
Is it everything we want?
No, mods will fix that.
If you are a Fallout fan, get it. Everything that has changed has changed for the better.
If you are not a fan, this game has been structured in the beginning to be an "Intro" to the universe, filling you into how this world is different.
I'm excited to see what DLC they have for it, as they always hit it out of the park with a majority of the extra content. Also, Obsidian wants to do another New Vegas title, will be amazing to see what they do with this updated engine.
All in all, Fallout 4 has been amazing so far. I reccomend getting it.

Balck Ops 3 open beta. My thoughts...
General | Posted 10 years agoWhere to start with Black Ops 3....
It feels like a more polished Advanced Warfare. As you know, from the trailers and the open beta multiplayer, the game centers around cyborg/mechanical advancements in soldiers. Run faster, jump higher, everything that PF Flyer promised back in the 1960's from their shoes.
The assisted jump and wall running feels natural, taking me only a single match to figure out the mechanics. It helps open up the map alot. No longer do you have to run up stairs to a balcony, just jump up to it. This movement allows you to go overor around buildings instead of through them, scattering the choke points out to a much larger area.
The feeling of extreme verticality that was present in Advanced Warfare is gone. Normally I'd have to worry about someone 2 stories up coming down on me, but Black Ops 3 fixed that, making the games feel more like a 2 level affair, with a simple up or down field of play. This makes the game flow better, as you don't spend half the time looking up.
The weapons feel homoginized, the ones you got in the beta at anyrate. They all have a rounded edged design, making it difficult to tell what they are until a few hours into the game. They follow the standard routine, High rate of fire with low damage, High damage with low fire rate and everything inbtween. Grenades and explosives are deadly though, not going to walk away from one going off like in the past few CoD titles. The tactical grenades seem a bit off, not as strong as they were in previous games. The pick 10 is still there, with wildcards and so on, so no change from Black ops normal players.
Most CoD players are used to the broken up perks. What once used to be 1 single perk to level up is now 2 or 3, forcing you to choose between faster reload or faster aiming at some points. I haven't played a CoD religiously since Black Ops the first, so it's a change that I don't like, but others are used to.
The maps they allowed you to play were a mix of well balanced, to completely one sided. The flatter ones, (I can't recall names) were more neutral in terms of advantage. The other two were completely one sided, whatever team spawned on the upper hill had the advantage and seemed to run roughshod over the other team the entire match. It's a must to try and hold the high ground on Domination.
There are other games modes as well, TDM, Kill confirmed, Demolition/Sabotage and on from there. I mostly played Domination, as it's my favorite mode, but one major flaw stands out. In normal Domination, it's a 200 point to win mode, the games lasting 5 minutes or 20 depending on the teams and players. In BL3, they changed that up. Instead of 200 points, they split the match into 2: 100 point segments, allowing you to keep unused killstreaks and score between the two. Though the flaw is this: Say your team has 100 points that ends round 1 and the other team has 20 points. Round 2 starts and you still have 100 and the opposing team has 20, meaning that you have only 100 more to go to win the match, but the other team needs to go up 180 to win, a clear disadvantage to the loosing side in round 2. Honestly they should either reset the points for both to 0, or just have it 1 round with 200 points to win.
Instead of the 'build a soldier' you are forced to select from a set of classes Team Fortress 2 style, each with a special ability to use once the meter for it is charged. These special powers are the only non asthetic difference that makes it depend how you play. Once class gets a shield or grenade launcher, giving you 2-3 more shots before you die or a 6 shot grenade launcher as a sort of 'bonus' streak that doesn't reset when you die. Others get a MASSIVE bow, an arm mounted minigun and so on to help 'stylize' a character and break up normal gameflow at points. I think some of these 'bonus streaks' are overpowered, but balancing will come later.
Killstreaks are nearly the same, Hellstorm Missle, Lightning strike, Quad Rotor with a shooty gun on it. I wasn't able to get any higher level to see if they had something starkly different. But expect the same effect with killstreaks like Black Ops 2.
Graphics I can't say anything on, running on an Nvidia 750 GTX, had no problems with it, though the card was horrible with anti aliasing being that it's a mid level card. Single player should look good, though most players made mention that it looks better on consoles, but I can't say either way.
Verdict?
Black Ops 3 is more of the same CoD everyone knows. Nothing new, nothing innovative. Just feels like a more polished Advanced Warfare in all honesty.
Is it a return to 'glory' of the past CoD's?
I don't think so. CoD has seen a downhill slide since Ghosts and I don't think it's going to change much. Especially if they have micro transactions for skins, voice overs, weapons and the damned random loot crates.
If you have made it this far, I have become disenchanted with the CoD series. Black Ops 1 was the last game I played hardcore, cause I think the newer ones are a movement in the wrong direction. If you are thinking on getting back into the CoD scene after a few years, I'd say don't bother. If you eat up whatever CoD title, then go ahead. I don't like it, but that is just me. So enjoy if you like CoD, it's just not my thing anymore.
I'm waiting for Fallout 4!

How can you want money from the bank
If I haven't had a decent wank
Your big business demands
Ruin my fapping plans
My phone, nary a call at all
To your store I go for the order tall
There are others in which I can fill my need
Yet you throttle my connection speed
Lower price I shan't need to barter
10 Times speed with Charter
If we were lovers, I would bet
We would be Romeo and Juliet
The potion you quaff in leather
Falling dead as I get better
When I awake to find you bereathed
Not a tear when I left

I wasn't able to make you writhe
In your urethra a rod of glass

No remorse as I leave
Content to just let you bleed

Yet you throttle my connection speed
Lower price I shan't need to barter
10 Times speed with Charter
If we were lovers, I would bet
We would be Romeo and Juliet
The potion you quaff in leather
Falling dead as I get better
When I awake to find you bereathed
Not a tear when I left
Only regret when you were alive
I wasn't able to make you writhe
In your urethra a rod of glass
The hammer falls to shatter the mass
No remorse as I leave
Content to just let you bleed
OMG

What pain makes you do
General | Posted 10 years agoThere comes a time in everyone's life where pain will make you do things out of the ordinary. It may be a painful relationship that drives one to drink. It may be a jumble of thoughts in our heads that we are not as good as Mr. X and thus we buy into a lifestyle working for the oversized things we think will make us look good to others. Alot of times people spend their lives in pain just to win the approval of others with the biggest house, the televisions and so on.
Anyone that knows me rather well knows that I get crippling sinus migraines. Changes in weather, dogs and several other things can drive the rail spike through my forehead, make my eyes feel like they are being stepped on and every heartbeat pumps blood full of shattered glass into my skull. Light feels like scalpels pushed into my eyes and sound is a sledgehammer slamming into my ears. My stomach becomes a punching bag, constantly rolling and queasy, food just makes it worse. It really sucks fucking ass.
In the past I have had a supply of oxy or something along those lines to deaden the pain to a manageable level where I can at least move around. Well the stuff I had eventually ran out and was left with the stuff I could buy off the shelf, which most times was like tossing toothpicks at a tank. Only when I took a fistful of pills, wayyyy to much to be healthy, did it do anything.
I was over at a friend's place and thought I was fine. But a big ass storm rolled in, and with it the flayed skin I know as a sinus migraine. I was in no position to drive home for a remedy from the fact that I can't when I have a migraine. So I went to my friend and said I needed something for my head. Turns out he did not have anything I was used to taking, but he had a compromise.
He produced a ceramic looking cigarette from a wooden toggle case. I knew what it was as soon as the skunk pungent smell hit my nose. Merijerbananna.
I've done alot of growing in the past few years. Taken off the coat of idea placed on me by others and making decisions for myself based off of drawing in facts from both sides of an argument and making a decision myself. I have adopted a policy of "Do what you want, as long as you don't harm anyone in your activities." So I was fine with people doing crank, weed and anything else around me and I was fine with just booze, having never tried anything at all.
I was at a point where I would have rather approached it with a clear head, not muddled by saw blade bouncing around in my skull. I was in so much pain and with only one choice in front of me, or hours of agony, for better or worse, I decided that anything would be better than what I was currently feeling.
Now, medicine has a way of working to treat an issue. If people take anything to deaden pain, the medicine works to neutralize or lessen it before anything else. A 7mg of oxy or whatever dulls the headache before making me woozy and 'drunk' feeling. But this is only when treating pain that it works to help with it, if taken when feeling fine, it gives the effect of the drunk woozy and fuzzy feeling.
So, being a complete noob, I asked how I do it. I was to just light it up and draw it in. He failed to tell me it was more like smoking a cigar, draw it into your mouth, then breathe in. Though you tend not to breathe in with cigars. So I did it like a cigarette, breathe through the tube and strait into the lungs. I nearly emptied the damned thing out and held it in. I just imagined a thick green fog swirling in my lungs. I knew the shit was expensive so I held it as long as possible. Finally after 30 seconds of holding, I let out. I'd always seen people cough like crazy after doing that, so I was surprised when I didn't. Then I went to the couch to sit down, as I had no idea what it was going to do.
It starts with feeling like a thin visor across your face, one that you can't see, merely feel as it radiates light-less heat. It started at my left lower ear near the lobe, wrapped around to my left eye like an eye patch and up over to the top right eyebrow. It was an odd feeling. It was also at this point, roughly 20 seconds in, that my headache was completely gone, my stomach returned to normal as well. The area behind my right eye where the pain was, encompassing the entire right upper part of my face felt like it was... there, how a full stomach feels a bit bigger and you can feel it's shape. I felt the problem as if it were tangible, something on a 3-d model where it lights up to show you a certain part inside.
Slowly my left wrist began to feel the same way, the wrist I popped or something when tightening head bolts on a diesel down to 250 ft lbs. A lightless heat wrapped around my wrist. It felt more fluid, less stiff. Better.
I was focusing on physical attributes on what the stuff was doing. Any ache and pain it focused in on, wrapped it with it's heat and made it's presence known where there was a problem. I know there are many types of the stuff, each having a different effect or feeling.
I had to get up and go to the bathroom, and had to slowly get there. When I got up it felt like my head was passing through cool water, the currents splashing on my face and whipping around the sides of my skull and curling around the back. Any upwards movement felt like this. Later on this turned into an entire body feeling, even when still. It was like a force, pulling me backwards or to the side, my skin being drawn taught in the direction of pull and the slack felt as if it were flapping in the wake.
Another oddity was my right eye movement, every time I would look around, my left eye movement was fine, but it felt like my right eye was a card in a bicycle spoke, the clacking of the card was my eye lagging behind and "rubber banding" back to where it should be. Sort of an odd feeling as it felt like it bounced left to right or right to left, looking up and down was fine.
Fully pain free and calm, I began to experiment, as the thought popped into my head to try it. I began to focus on a body part, my left big toe. In an instant, I felt a surge, a pulse down my nerves to that toe and the toe 'responded' by lighting up with the internal heat that was around/in my sinus area.
It would seem that in this state, I was able to call out mentally to a body part and it would light up, make itself known. Ear, nose, eyes, knee, fingers. It was the same pulse down the nerves to each part and they became warm and I was aware of what I was focusing on, and only that part on which I put my focus into.
As far as the mental state goes, I can focus on one thing, and it becomes the center of attention, but anything else was tuned out. If I divided my attention between two things, I couldn't focus. I would forget what was going on with both parts, but only for a while. It would seem that dividing attention made it to hard to keep up, and I couldn't remember what happened with each thing I was doing. Though after a few minutes, the details of each separate thing came back and I could remember each one, but it was a while later when I did.
Overall, it got rid of my headache in seconds. Faster than the 20 minutes to 45 for the opiate I usually take. It lasted about the same time as well, roughly 4 hours. It was over par with the pain killing, but then again I smoke an entire gram of the stuff.
It also helped ward off more sinus migraines, as the next few days MORE storms rolled in and the weather changed. It seems that just once is a good ward for a few days even though the initial and present effects wore off completely after 5 hours.
Here is what gets me. Had I gone to the hospital, waited in line to get some damned tylenol, which is all they would give you on the spot and cost you 12$ a pill, set up a doctors appointment to get this looked into, which would be several thousand dollars. Given a prescription that MIGHT work, doctors and the like tend to toss shit on a wall and see what sticks. I'd be several thousand dollars lighter (money I do not have) and several months later taking a daily pill that may or may not ward off a sinus migraine. Not to mention whatever the pills have in them may make me have some side effects I don't want.
I'd rather treat it as it happens with something that works literally RIGHT NOW. It's cheaper than a damned doctors appointment and the prescription pills AND less deadly to boot.
I know people tend to over do it. Use it every day. I cannot judge them, as they may have chronic pain, I don't know. It's been a month or so since I did it, as I haven't been in a situation where I could when I did get another migraine. For me, I'm going to use it as the medicine that it is...
Look what pain made me do...

General | Posted 10 years agoIs there any picture that I have drawn a long time ago that you would like to see re-drawn?
Anything from 2014 to present is out, something older.
So I guess find your favorite old pic that you want to see improved/re-drawn and leave a link in the comments of what you want redone!
So far we have:

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
General | Posted 10 years agoPonies, Season 5
General | Posted 10 years agoNever has there been a more apparent "Fan Season" of any show then Season 5 of MLP, and here's why:
The 'girly' has gone. It seems that within context of each character alot of the girlyness has been removed.
The Episodes have been answering (to some extent) what the fans have been clamoring to know. The Twilight's Castle Playset for 49.99$ (Characters sold separately) hasn't really been that central. Yea it's the flank flashlight alert-o-meter, but it's been 'Yea, it exists' thing. CMC's marks, and so on.
They episodes have been hard and heavy, with alot of underlying meaning to them. Dealing with the fact that the world is better when everyone has something special about them to add variety to everyday life in the Season opener. Facing something new in episode 3, the fear of the unknown. And with episode 4 it dealt with the pressure that society and our own want to fit in tend to put on ourselves (Not to mention how quickly that episode went dark..). It seems they have pulled out all the stops and are writing for the fans to some extent.
More particularly episode 5, "Tanks for the Memories"
The name itself implies a catastrophe, as I (And probably alot of others) thought this was going to be an episode where they deal with the fact that pets do not live as long as people generally do. And in some way, it did deal with it, even though they didn't use it in a way we think.
They instead used a euphemism of 'hibernation' instead of death, but the implication is there and it is hard and heavy. Facing the fact that a pet is 'going away' is something that everyone here knows quite well.
I'm sure that everyone here has had a pet at some point. Whether it was their own pet, or the family dog, we all have had the the joys of an animal companion. Day in and day out we get to see them, feed them, talk to them and then play with them.
Naturally, spending time and bonding with our companions over the course of the years. Vacations, playing out in the yard and being a comfort to us in times of hardship. They become comfortable with us and us with them. We fall into a routine, going for a walk or run, all of it incorporated into our lives. Day after day, it's the same for the most part.
Then there's the day when it's time. We noticed it slowly, hindered by our own ignorance of a fact we don't want to realize, Put it out of our minds. They become slower, start running into things as their eyesight fails. And then there is the day when they are nearing the time to leave, to sleep for the last time.
We fight it, going to doctors, friends, seeking advice anywhere to have our companion back and not have to change plans.
This fact is STRONGLY mirrored in the episode as Dash's pet, Tank, begins to mimic these symptoms. Slowing down, getting tired as she seeks advice. Well, it's edging closer to winter, and Tank is going to hibernate. (It's odd timing, as the show was probably meant to begin air dates in Sept/October, but was delayed) Dash does as anyone would, deny it, then began to fight nature itself to warm the place up so that it can stop what happens naturally.
As sometimes those that fight to delay the end may hasten it is what happens next. Instant winter happens and she realizes that changing everything doesn't change the facts and winds up depressed as the realization hits her. The episode took a turn for the worse at that point. That family members gathering around Dash, laying with Tank in the bed, a very powerful euphemism of comfort.
They break the news to her, that Tank wasn't going to be there all winter. Again, very powerful scene that tries to handle what it's meant to portray delicately, but still manages to cut to the bone. It was a very hard to watch scene as Dash broke down with the final nail, so to speak, that her friend wasn't going to be there anymore, during the winter, and she was going to be alone.
Then they turned the parallel to 11 but having the torturous scene of Tank going into the ground to hibernate.
I guess the reason that this episode hit me hard was because I had a hamster at one point. Magellan, had him for 4-5 years. He came when called, I played with him constantly and had a scare with him at one point as he got sick. The mirror of this episode on my life was creepily exact.
Then there was that day when he was gone...
And I haven't had a pet/gotten attached to one in the family ever since. Once bitten twice shy.
Well, I'm writing about it, as this episode hit me hard and heavy... The very stark bleak tones in this episode greatly overshadowed the jokes they made, downing them out almost entirely.
erf.

Well, I'm writing about it, as this episode hit me hard and heavy... The very stark bleak tones in this episode greatly overshadowed the jokes they made, downing them out almost entirely.
erf.
Somethig odd happened...
General | Posted 11 years agoA while ago, I went out to my car to go where ever... the destination wasn't important, but what happened when I was inside.
I went to roll my window down, it was a bit cold and the condensation of my breath was beginning to fog the windows up. I reached down for the crank and roll the window down. In an odd bit of confusion, my hand was met with empty air, gasping for the little nob that opened the window.
Maybe it was just in the wrong position? I ran my hand all around where the lever was, as it could have been in a different position.
I became angry and opened the door. Maybe the goddamned handle broke in the cold or when I shut the door, fuck me... Upon inspection of the door, there wasn't a trace of the handle. It wasn't on the door, the floor or outside my car on the ground. I was pissed as fuck, I'd have to unscrew the other one on the passenger side and put it over here. A quick look on the other side revealed that the handle/crank was gone as well.
Well what the fuck? Did someone steal my handles? Was this a prank? That fuck was going on?
I remembered very sternly each time I opened the window, of leaning over and making the swirling motion with my arm. Every hot summer day, every fall day when it was warm enough to warrant a window being down. I remembered the crank, the gears inside, *r-r-r-r-r-r* when I opened and closed it. I remember perfectly. Seeing it all in my head.
This was fucking moronic, someone fucking with me, taking my goddamned window cranks. I closed the door of my car and started stomping my way across the driveway and up the stairs all while muttering curses under my breath. Fucking bullshit, taking my goddamned window levers.... Now I gotta fucking yell at everyone till I fucking find them.
Then I reached the door, a revelation washing over me, hitting me square in the head like a light turning on.
My car never had cranks, it was electronic. With window motors and buttons. Now, I have had this car for roughly 8 years, driving it daily to work and such. Always pressing the buttons, the buttons.
I stood there for a while, struck with disbelief that I thought, and remembered so PERFECTLY everything with the window roll down levers. I've never driven a car for more than a week or two with manual windows. What the fuck was going on?
I didn't know what to do with myself. I just went back to my car and onto the destination.
I don't want to say this same thing has happened on this level of magnitude as this event, but lately there have been a few times when I remember things as vividly as the cranks. Things that I KNOW in my goddamned head are they way I remember them, but are proven wrong with the way they really happened in the real world...
I have no idea what is happening.... whether it's some sort of stress or something. Odd thing is, I'm relatively stress free, so this is freaking me the fuck out...

Comissions...
General | Posted 11 years agoAnd now you know why I don't take money upfront for them...
If my currently art block remains gone, I may pick back up with the commissions I still have... For now... I dunno... I'll see if I have time for them at some point
