Hey everyone, I'd like to give you an update on where I am with things this year.

I'd like to thank everyone who ordered a commission from me last year, it helps me in more ways than you know. It's been very encouraging to see there's a demand out there and support which enables me to keep making these. Not only do you help me financially but your support enables me to improve and keep striving for excellence in the work I do. I always try to raise the bar on my own standards regardless of what it is I'm working on, I hope that it shows in the work I've been posting recently.

Finally I'm almost done with my Blade Runner YCH piece, it's been a challenge figuring out how to get the animated bits and parts to work but it is finally coming together so keep an eye out for when that hits!

Hey everyone, once again I've been asked to offer some cameo slots for Sanguine Games, this time for their African- and Near East-themed roleplaying game, Ironclaw!
As with their previous kickstarter campaign, you can get a chance to design a character for the game and have a number of different artists draw it for you, me included! All you have to do is pledge for the right reward slot and I'll be putting my own artstyle onto a character of your own design.

I've been thinking of putting up some videos on gumroad explaining some of my workflow while doing my paintings. Would anyone be interested in that?
Things like explain how I think about my compositions, the use of texture brushes, finding inspiration while painting, good ways to think about perspective and backgrounds etc...
If I do that are there any subjects in particular you would be personally interested in having me cover? I'd love to know so I can shape these to be as good as possible.

I've been invited to do some cameo illustrations for Urban Jungle, an anthro noir-inspired tabletop RPG by the cool folks at Sanguine Games.
They've reached out to me among many other really talented artists to get some limited cameo illustrations as exclusive kickstarter pledges.
Basically what this means is that if you pledge for one of the cameo spots, you can design your own character to feature in the game and have it drawn by the artist of your choosing. So if you've ever wanted me to draw you a character in a hard-boiled noir atmosphere, now's your chance :)

If you think this sounds cool check out the kickstarter, and help these guys out! And if you can't pledge, I'm sure they'll appreciate any help they can get by spreading the word

Files were lost, tears were shed, blood was spilled.
I was able to recover some thanks to an older backup and dropbox but a lot of stuff is gone. This happened literally minutes after I uploaded Dempsey's commission, had I done it later that piece would've been gone forever! Holy crap what a close call.
At least now I've narrowed down the problem to a specific component which will get replaced asap. Kingston owes me an apology, and I need to be way more careful about backing stuff up.

5 years ago  LordDirk started working on a traditionally 2D animated short called My Dad the Giant. I've been closely following his progress on it since he first began revealing glimpses of it to the public. It's shaping up to look fantastic, he really deserves the support to get it done.
