Offically Getting Into Law
Posted 15 years agoWell I have mentioned it to some people, I feel like making it public now. I am officially getting into law and currently on the path of being a law clerk. Recently I have been job shadowing a paralegal and I am assisting a lawyer. This is giving myself the idea that -if- I want to expand more into the field after I am finished with the Law Clerk program. To get into such career's. I am having fun analyzing cases and what evidence has been provided.
Earlier I have received an acceptance letter into an illustration program. Even if I would have gotten it back in April I would not accept it. Art is a hobby to me, and I prefer to keep it that way. ^^

School's Out

Intro
It is that time of year again and I am finally finished school for the year. The last few months felt rough for me despite that I was doing well for the most part, but I am in need of a career change.
School
From the start of the last semester, I was trying to force myself into making my art portfolio for art specialty programs like Illustration. During this time as I was working I was thinking over everything about school and my future. After when that was done I only had school to worry about and I did not like doing it any more then the portfolio. Why? All I felt what I was doing was grunt work, and I got some lousy and dumb professors in the previous semester. One for example who is way up in the clouds, and tried to relate Buddhism to nano technology which in reality it has no correlation. Another example I had a teacher who seemed to be either bipolar or has an emotional disorder because one second the professor was happy and then the next minute mad.
Asides from there personalities, they might have been skilled professional artist but were horrible teachers.
Career
From January on word as I was doing my artwork, I was thinking about is art a career or a hobby? After thinking about how art is today about commercialism, I am not fund of the media and would not want to do any art media related. The other is that I do not want to be working on contracts for the rest of my life. I rather be in a secure job. Also I am more interested in drawing and painting what I want then illustrating someone else’s idea most of the time. Sure I might open up for the odd request or maybe do a commission or two every now and then, but I most rather be doing art for myself as a hobby. Lastly doing artwork can be very intuitive, I would rather be in a field which practices logical, critical and analytical thinking.
I toke the time to do a career examination, in which I toke 3 test judging my personality, interest and aptitude. The results did not tell me any different from what I knew about myself. Though my aptitude test was garbage and does not correlate with my physiological assessment, which states that my disability requires me have double the amount of time on test; it will allow me enough time to think or if not I can get overwhelmed. The test obviously did not allow such accommodations. The careers in which I was told that I was cable of doing where such like in law or journalism.
I was advice to do research as well as to job shadow such jobs. So I can narrow down my choices and make the right decision on what career is right for me.
Conclusion
Well school is over and I have finished my last exam on Thursday. I am thankful that being in the field of art is not were I would want to continue as a career, I would rather be in a field more thinking based. I will still continue drawing and painting because I like to do it, but with the amount of artwork that I have done at college. I feel like I need some space from doing art for maybe about a week. Then I will get back into it again.
I will upload some art which might be furry related possibly this week or the next one.

Portfolio Handed In
Posted 15 years agoThis morning I handed in my portfolio. There was a lot of people in line to hand in there portfolios and the drawing test that comes with it.
There was some disorganization on what was going on. Who ever did the write up of what was required for the portfolio did not make things to clear. So some TA's were handing out forms for us to attach to our portfolio - which should of been mailed to us earlier. Also most of us have to write our names on the backs of the photocopies for our drawing test, which was not clearly mentioned in the outlined.
There might have been 150 people waiting to hand in their portfolio and drawing test. Most of the people in line where kids in there last year of high school, and some very odd kids. Then again people this is the arts, you get some very werid people coming into the feild of art. Like an artsy emo, some weird artsy looking people and some strange oddities of people who were in line.
Also I saw some of the people's art while waiting in line. There was some art which I felt did not hit the bar of an observational drawing/painting; some which art which has uneven cutting, bent and ripped a.k.a. not entirely presentable work, and there were some drawings which looked really awesome.
After an hour wait I handed in my portfolio and drawing test.
After a few hours passed by, I just came home and picked up my portfolio. I might not know for a few weeks, which I can see if I got in or not. I am just hoping my observational drawing skills are up to pair, as well as my presentation skills are. O well, I won't try to think to heavily about my portfolio and try to take my mind off of it.

Dreamlog: From Space to Con
Posted 16 years ago In this dream somehow Tombfyre was in my dream. Ever since I have been trying to be active in remembering my dreams, I notice that I usually have someone I know or know of in my dreams.
In a tropical forest on an off world, it was a clear day, in the dense forest. There was a gun fight which lasted for about 10 minutes or so. After the short battle 2 fat dragons followed by the humans who assisted them, being the dragon’s foot soldiers, in the gun fight. There was my fat yellow dragon self, but I was about 10 feet tall with my belly sticking out around 7 feet in front of me. It was visible in my sight. Also there was Tombfyre who was the same size and with a belly around the same size. But after the previous gun fight we where all tired and set up camp.
The camp was in a reasonably small open patch in the forest. It was big enough in size so that us dragons can sleep without crushing our foot soldiers.
The next day we woke up, still a sunny day and 2 ships came for both Tombfyre and I. We were all still pretty tired when we all went on our ships, though Tombfyre was to tired and came on the outside of his ship. He hung on ship by using his tail like a possum hanging on a tree and went back to sleep.
The soon ships flew away from the planet which we were previously on, and by then I feel asleep. Just before I woke up again, both ships reached a Los Angeles size city; which was cyberpunk in appearance.
I woke up, almost forgetting that Tombfyre was still hanging outside like a possum on his ship on the outside. When I gazed through the open doors on both ends seeing him there I was wondering why the doors were open on both ships. Also I was wondering why Tombfyre was outside of the ship sleeping. Finally the ship’s crew finally shut the door and I was gazing through the window, until I remembered why he was sleeping on the outside of his ship.
Later we landed and we all arrived safely. Tombfyre and myself had to attend to a con. Though Tombfyre was running part of the con, I never been to one before (in real life this is a fact). Therefore I went to a pre-con briefing at a university gym; it was full of people as. After that was over I went in to attend the con, and then I woke up.

My Experience of 2009 in Review
Posted 16 years ago2009 was a year of ups and down, plenty of both, looking back on it.
2009 seemed to start out for me like most others in Canada. I celebrated New Years with my friends in RL and had a lot of fun. I did enjoy my freedom from school during the Winter Break while I could. Then, on the 3rd of January, I ventured back to Ottawa, where I was enrolled in a really good animation program. I was enjoying making layouts and learning some new things, but I did not learn enough.
Things seemed to be going well at first, despite the Ottawa bus strike which started in late December 2008 that seeped into the New Year. When I came back, I was ignorantly thinking that the bus strike would end pretty soon. My social life, due to being in the animation program, was almost non-existent and that was aided by the bus strike. By ‘March break’ (technically in February but it was dubbed march break anyways), I went back to Toronto. Being able to at least go out and hang out, along side doing homework, I was happy. When the break was over, things really began to ramp up in school; I had completed my assignments and soon some doubt began to play in my mind—about becoming an animator.
As the bus strike was still going on, I was starting to develop cabin fever: possibly one of the most “FUN” experiences I have ever experienced in my life. Being in animation, I was working my ass off so I can keep up with everyone else because I was realizing I was drawing to slowly and was struggling to stay ahead. Therefore, I stopped taking breaks. I was soon starting to get depressed because everyone on the college campus residence seemed to be having fun between homework and their social lives; mine essentially became non-existent.
During this time, I was talking to
gunuse about how I was starting to feel my art was crap, and how I had no life. I thought my art was crap, because everyone in my class was getting way better then me, and I couldn’t keep up.
gunuse tried to cheer me up during those times and that did help me a bit. But my cabin fever was really hitting me hard at the time.
Also towards early March Ottawa had a cold snap where the temperature was around -30ºC (-22 ºF.) with the wind chill feeling like -42ºC (-43.6 ºF.) The residence building, which I was living in, had its fire alarm pulled twice due to one person in partying with a large group of drunks. So I had to stand outside for a few hours in the cold at 2 in the morning; the second alarm was triggered at 6am. It really peeved off anyone who was trying to sleep, and I was very annoyed and angry at the time.
As the year was wrapping up I officially decided that I wanted to get into Illustration, because I had it with being in animation; I felt that animation was not for me. Also I was getting so depressed of not doing any of my own work at the time. When I did try to draw, I felt that what ever I drew was crap. Not to mention, my art style seemed to resemble something Disney-like at the time and that bugged the hell out of me; it still does today. During the last week of school, I gave up on most of my courses due to my depression.
After school I came back home to Toronto, and I felt fortunate to be back because I had a social life again. Also, I got to SLEEP! I really got myself indulged into that kind of life again; I missed it a lot. But, I was quickly reminded that I needed to search for a job, which was a pain because there was very little in the job market at the time.
During this time, I was still recovering from being in animation and drawing at the time never felt right, because I wanted to draw in a more realistic style. Therefore I tried to draw less animated in style, because I wanted to improve and nothing seemed good enough. I basically didn’t draw for a few weeks because of it. Eventually, I had a phone call meeting with my animation professors back in Ottawa; we talked for a while and they said everything I had expected from them. They felt that animation was not for me, and I agreed with them. What I didn’t know was that I happened to be one of the weakest artists that they had chosen to be accepted in the program; and they thought, with some training, I would progress fast enough to become an animator. However, by the end of that call, I remained solid in my desire to become an illustrator.
In June, I finally decided to post work on FA again because I had gained some motivation to return to artwork. I was taking a summer life drawing course at the time, which was suggested to me by my old professors. It was worth the time, because I did improve a little by then and was also a great confidence booster. I was done feeling depressed about not being in animation. To add to that, I got a job as an assistant lawyer, and that helped boost my self esteem even further.
By July, I really got inspired by the artist “Idrawgirls” by watching his speed paintings. Thus I began to speed paint and, with the assistance of my new Wacom Intuos4, made it a whole lot of fun to do.
As the summer came and went, I was doing a lot of artwork and I felt better at what I was doing with my life. Yet, I was surprised when my Mr.Patches speed painting reached beyond 100 in its view count on FA. I first took it as a joke. I told
thecaptainfoxx how odd this was, and he told me that I will get used to it. But why was that odd? Because I was stilling thinking that my art was still kind of crappy, not even decent at best. Later on, though, I did get used to it, and I am very thankful for the views I have gotten, faves, and comments for every piece of artwork since.
As time progressed, more artwork was made, and I fully enjoyed doing what I was doing again. Mainly because I was not just constantly drawing, I was painting too! Later on I was noted by my summer course professor that my style has improved a lot, which at first I thought it was a joke. Later on, I found it to be fact.
Outside of art, I had gotten back into gaming, and I also began to become more social. I met some more interesting people in RL and online. I feel very fortunate to have become friends with many different people this past year and I do care for every one of them. ^^
With the summer break over, school started once again and I was very excited, mainly because I was now a general arts major with an emphasis in the visual arts. I wanted to be in it to ensure that I want to get into Illustration.
I did some more artwork that I felt was worth posting on FA. Compared to animation, I feel like I am actually learning the theory behind art more than I would have if I remained in animation. I feel I have a great freedom in the use of creativity in my schoolwork and I can keep my own style which is great. At the end of the semester I essentially lost the last week of school due to the college’s budget cuts. So I was really putting my ass into gear making sure that I would pass the semester. And I did very well as it turns out.
As the end of the year is slowly creeping upon us, 2010 is looking to be a great year. I am thankful that I am no longer in animation, and I am hoping to become an Illustrator when I get into another college program. From periods of feeling bad to worse, finally, things turned out for the better. I do thank all of those who watch me, for all comments, favorites, the views which I have slowly gained over time and the friends I have made. I do feel very fortunate to know you and thank you all for your help. I just hope next year in 2010 will be a better one for myself and for all. ^^

I do thank all of those who watch me, for all comments, favorites, the views which I have slowly gained over time and the friends I have made. I do feel very fortunate to know you and thank you all for your help. I just hope next year in 2010 will be a better one for myself and for all. ^^
School School School and BREAK!
Posted 16 years agoFor the past few weeks I have been busting my ass, because I basically lost the week of the 14th-18th. Why so? Apparently due to budget cuts and one of the school unions wanted a raise for those in highly paid positions (I assume it might those professors with high wages, but I am not to certain about that.) Thus I had about three weeks to really put my shit together. Also I might add that the college which I am currently at is the biggest within Canada—which totals up to 107000 students, so that made things fun for all of us!
Thereby that illustration of this yellow dragon bending over painting his work, if you’ve seen it, is what this dragon has been doing quite frequently these past few weeks. :3 http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3116678
Asides myself working the extra effort making sure that I will pass, which was the result of the lost week. I literally been having dreams about school for almost for THREE-WEEKS-STRAIGHT! I had dreams about exams, assignments, even my professors saying random Carl Sagan quotes. This has gotten to a point where I literally had a dream of a collage of my professors intertwined with the workings of photos of this fat yellow dragon. As of last night I merely had a dream about being the same old yellow dragon laying down on a ground sleeping. Well, because having dreams about one single topic like school that often might make you to tired in your own dreams to do anything interesting. :3
Asides I did wake up at 5:50 am, just so I can get a decent spot at the test centre to do my exam. When I was there at school, there was barley a line to get in. As time progressed towards exam time, the lines got huge! Maybe not like line ups such as on opening nights for movies like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter, but still long enough that people had to wait to take their exam.
Thought I was burnt out afterwards, I did went home by the afternoon and crashed. This has been some interesting yet somewhat a wild roller coaster ride of a few weeks, glad it is over. Thus I am now free for the most part of until the 11th of January! 8D

LCROSS, water found on Moon.
Posted 16 years agoRemember back about a mouth or so ago, NASA lunched a satellite into the moon? Yes and that hype caused by it? Some news stations that reported it were talking about why the hell NASA was bombing the moon for water. Not to mention some of the disinformation that came along with it. Then came that tiny plum which, almost nobody could have seen it on earth do to the plum's small size and perceptive of the moon viewed from Earth. Well some images were found by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter probe (LRO), which is orbits the moon, and toke a snapshot of it the morning of the impact.
If you are wondering why the google name is all watery with the moon in the centre, and a plum in it. It is because scientist at work on the LCROSS mission have been working hard to analysis the images from LRO, for one, and other instruments used on the satellite to verify that the moon has water. Yes, they have found that water does exist on the moon.
Why is water important? Well for one we drink it and it is essential for us to survive, we can separate the water so we can use it for fuel and use it to breath which is obviously just as important. ( http://www.metacafe.com/watch/74764.....en_and_oxygen/ ) This may lead to possibilities of a colony on the moon, which can be a pit stop for astronauts in the future to vacate before they travel to Mars.

School is coming back
Posted 16 years agoWell as of the 8th of September I am starting school officially and that would mean I am spending more time doing art assignments and homework for my profs. Instead of spending time doing my own work, thus I will not be submitting art as often on FA as I do now. College is as the essence of its important, in my current academic career. Especially I am taking this year in an art foundation program to help take the time to learn and to think about what future career in the arts I may take. Probably illustration (maybe scientific), cartooning or maybe even interior design. But ever since I left animation, my thoughts of a possible future career may lie more strongly in either illustration or cartooning. Basically I am taking the program i am in to make an art portfolio (for a future program) , to improve my artistic skills and obviously learn to become a better artist.
Although I rarely ever take request, trades and etc. During the academic school year I prohibit doing any such work, because it may take out time from doing homework. If I ever do get asked for such requests, art trades and etc, I will instantly decline the offer, and refer to this journal of why I am simply not going to do it.
Just a couple thoughts about the up and coming school year... I find I am less nervous going into college then the previous year. Yet the program I am yet to begin officially on the 8th, I am for some reason, having expectation of having furs in my program. Also an other though of hoping that the university campus, which my college campus is located on, will not go on strike. Such as it did during a few months during the previous school year. But I feel fortunate that being located at this particular campus. Due to there are science programs being taught. And that arouses my curiosity of sneaking in a lecture and possibly learn something new, amusing I if might get lucky enough to get the time to do it.
This may be a TL;DR, but in short summary:
-I am starting school soon won't post as much on fa and not taking any sorts of requests
-taking the year to think about what feild I should get into
-I have some thoughts about the new school year like I have a strange expectation of furs being in my program
and on the side note here is a humorous skit on seeing ice age in 4d college humor http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LO2aCVlnLow enjoy if your interested
