Hey guys,

I'm going to do my best to get back to commissions but I need to inform y'all what I've been going through.

Monday (April 1st), on my way to Austin from Dallas after TFF I received news that my older brother suffered a massive stroke. He was declared braindead by 2 independent doctors, and in accordance to his wishes was pulled off life support.

He was already recovering from a serious bout of pneumonia and was on a breathing machine and a number of others to keep him alive while he recovered. The stroke happened while he was on the mend.

If you haven't been following my twitter this is a very quick summarization of what happened.

I'm going to keep journal comments disabled. I don't want any advice on how to handle death as well meaning as it is and I'm already talking to dear friends who are helping me quite a bit.


I'm not cancelling anyone's commissions but I'm returning to commissions slowly but surely and at my pace. I do apologize for the delay and deeply appreciate your understanding.

I have, however, canceled my attending Motor City Fur Con unfortunately as that would be a bit much for me right now.

Commission News

So main commissions ( Inks, flats, full color, To the Nines, Ratsonas) are

CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

I have had a queue that has just LINGERED there for far too long and until I have that and some other projects UNDER CONTROL I will not be open for main commissions

I will be periodically opening for simple commissions ( head shots and thigh ups) to cover bills however bigger comms are going to be closed off until the commission debt I have is COMPLETE.

I do apologize if you've been waiting for me to open for commissions as such but this needs to be taken care of.

I also just need to revisit my business model because as my business grows it needs to adapt as well.

Unfortunately MFF wiped me out way more than I expected it too and last week ended up being more of a recovery week than a work week. I do apologize for the delay but I am now back at it.

It's sad that Patreon, over time, has just gradually gotten worse and worse and their answers to our major complaints have been actions that do... well.. nothing.

My current pledge tiers are $1, $3, and $5 a month and while the additional cost isn't necessarily that big in the grand scheme of things I know that many of you subscribe to many other people and that cost can add up quite a bit.

Patreon has just been another way for me to help make a sustainable living. I certainly don't make enough from that to be able to make a living which is why I take on commissions. Until Kickstarter's new program is open to the public ( and proves itself to be far more effective than Patreon) I'll continue to use it. I do hope you all will continue to subscribe - if you already do.

So all of GA is under a state of emergency due to Irma. After looking at the projected winds and rainfall it's... honestly nothing we haven't been through before. And it's only due to last early monday through early Tuesday. Our area isn't really in high risk of flooding either so there's that.

So yeah we will be exercising reasonable caution and we are fairly well prepared however not expecting anything catastrophic. IF THAT CHANGES I will let yall know!

Hi there!

So I've had this on my mind for a little while and even made a twitter post of a similar theme:

I don't hate you or your character.

So to unpack this let me start with I'm not in love with every character I draw or commission I take. I don't hate them, but a lot of the times - it's work. My focus is on 2 things: Getting them done - and getting them done to the satisfaction of the client.

Occasionally I luck out and there is a character that's just easy for me to work with or an idea that's pretty interesting to me!

But for the most part I may not feel one way or the other. Though don't take that as an affront to you, your ideas, or your character(s) - It just means that, like I do with a lot of my art, I treat it as a job. A job that I care about keeping.

So when you fill out a commission form, or fear that I will automatically hate your idea or your character - keep in my my first idea is " Yeah I can do that!" it is not " AUGH, GOD WHY ME."

If it ever gets to a point where I simply hate drawing then I will find another job - because at that point it's still not about you, your characters, or ideas. It's about me just not being happy with my place in life. But as of right now I'm pretty good with it.

Also: I can't and will not speak for other artists and how they feel when it comes to commissions - I can only speak for myself.

Hey hey!

So first thing's first!

This week was .... WAY more unproductive than it should have been and I can really just attribute it to trying to juggle too many things all at once and getting next to nothing done. Really it was me trying to fit in time with that Rocket pic and finish commissions.

I've been working on that pic off and on for the past 5 saturdays with maybe a half our or so to work on it and never really get into the art groove. So this week I was just ready to finish it and I did but man doing that and inking may list off commissions- a list mind you that should have gone by WAY quicker..

Anyway it's done and I can move on. I'll work on getting things colored this coming week. So thank you all for your patience. It is VERY much appreciated!
