Suffering
Posted 11 years agoThere's plenty of good quotes about this... but as of recent #LegendOfKorra has plenty of good ones... especially some of which... "Why do GOOD people suffer?"
The other one that I can't find directly quoting was about finding meaning in their suffering... basically to the effect of:
Episode 9: Beyond the Wilds from Legend of Korra Season 4 (Balance)
I guess I had to go through with dealing with that kind of suffering so that I could understand what it is for others who do... and by learning it makes them a more sympathetic/empathetic kind of person to be able to truly emotionally understand what others are going through.
The other that is notable is:

Katara: But he never let it destroy his spirit. He chose to find meaning in his suffering and eventually ... found peace.

I'm going to be attending Texas Furry Fiesta 2015 and seeing if there might be any folks going & interested in a themed badge for the con. I may not have an official table but Emira & Kengi who have a table in the den have graciously offered me the ability to showcase pre-ordered badges for at con pick up.

Post FC Wrapup
Posted 11 years agoWell all in all FC2015 was a blast... I had a 1/2 Table along the back wall and oddly enough was situated next to a good artist friend of mine out here in the NE area 
skulldog And we were on the same flight getting out TO the con itself... made for a nice time gabbing and catching up.
The con itself was fun... I shared a table with
soulscape & got to meet some of her Canadian friends! I was definitely more productive than I have been in ages... sadly I wasn't able to get as much done with things accepted on Sat that bled into Sunday... so I have several things I've taken home. I will be in touch with the folks whom I took work home with me & get things done/mailed out ASAP. I would like to be free of things to be ready for my upcoming trip back to TX to visit family & my birthday for TFF.
So thank you EVERYONE I enjoyed meeting new faces especially folks like Soulscape whom I shared a half table with...
Davecko provided no end to amusement as well... and also enjoyed getting to meet and do a commission for Sampsonwoof... and *woof* I REALLY enjoyed the way the inked/toned sketch turned out. So if I did any art for you at the con I would greatly appreciate a scan if I didn't take a pic at the con itself.
Thanks again for the great memories and look forward to having a full table come next FC!

Posted 11 years agoWow... I got selected to be in the 'pre-checked' line at the airport... and I was just amazed... best and easiest time going through security since the 90's o.O Just... damn... Now waiting for my flight and then FC2015 I will be in you! :3

Posted 11 years agoWell 2014 has now officially come to a close. I spent it in the loving company of 
Ralkor as well as a couple other good friends enjoying a board game & nibbling on various sundries to the tune of the ball dropping in times square... in the OFFICIAL time zone of it this time around vs watching it pre-recorded. :P
In any event... sadly some of the stress I put on myself to complete all my projects before 2015 didn't work out according to plan but still plan to get it done before FC2015... and may take on a badge commission or two... Ping me if interested... Steampunk/Victorian is definitely a favorite theme of mine. :3
In any event... wishing everyone a VERY Happy New Year... I hope that 2015 is prosperous for everyone and hopefully things will improve. May you do well on resolutions you have made... and hopefully I will keep up with the momentum of my own.

The spirit as it were of the season is that I would like to wish peace and joy to all those during this holiday season.

The artwork that I am currently posting has not been pushed ahead of anyone... some of it has been done well before being posted online in any form. Some of it is also interspersed with commission work that is still on my backlog.
Please bear with me as I'm working to get things done in a timely fashion and still trying to get EVERYTHING I have that is outstanding done before Jan. 1 to start up again fresh for the coming year.
Thanks for your patience with me.

Starting Fresh

This is just a journal to say that I am working on several pieces in conjunction that I have picked up over the course of the year. Sadly been a little backlogged for a while & not been taking on much if any NEW work save at conventions & avoiding taking anything home because of having things waiting for me upon my return.
So... suffice to say my New Years Resolution is one I have to already start NOW... which is to start off fresh so that
I can take on new work. I don't feel comfortable taking on new commissions etc. when I have a backlog of work that I'm still fulfilling. I don't want to post out a list, but I will be posting things as soon as I get things completed, and have already started good on this now to keep up the momentum.

Posted 12 years agoI will be trying to contact folks who have outstanding commissions with me, I have been working on them but things have been tumultuous here, but settling down and now I am able to focus on things again. Please leave me a message to this journal or PM me so I can get better means to contact some of you because I will no longer be using FA as my hosting site for artwork, please look for me on Weasyl/SoFurry. Drama Club
Posted 12 years agoThe first rule about Drama Club is you can't talk about Drama Club... or even allude to it... because I never specifically posted anything about the drama that had been stirred here on FA, but did make allusions to it... so even more reasons for me to refrain from using FA for anything other than notes and communication with some commissioners. The journal I posted about it is only JUST now removed... wow... amusing to see that finally get someone's attention.

For one it'll help me get ready for the stuff I'll be doing at the con, and two, I can also use the practice too. The following are examples of the badges that I have recently done. I'm looking at wanting to charge $40-45 depending on complexity as I will be having them printed out, cut around and laminated... so please let me know if you would be interested in picking up one now to have ready when the dealer's den opens on Friday!

I'm Not Dead... Yet...
Posted 13 years agoI wanted to just put out a little post here saying that I'm not dead... I know I've not been active here or much anywhere artwise in the past year. There's been various reasons for that and some of that is not something I feel like going into, needless to say I'm starting to get back into things and while I hadn't posted anything in a while I did do some artwork last year & will be trying to locate what I did and post it when I am able to. Things have been tumultuous and still are going to be likely for a while for me... so please bear with me.
I will be attending Furry Fiesta as a dealer and hoping to divide some of my time and be social but may opt to be somewhat more focused on commission work but that always is subject to change... I'll maybe post something more about FF here later on soon.

Birthday Happenings.
Posted 13 years agoWell another year has come & gone & with it another tick on the number of cycles I've been on this earth. I had a nice relaxing birthday. Woud've been better spent hanging with my brother, but he had to work on his birthday too... but I did get to spend it in the company of a good friend Star Gazer & have a nice Italian meal & did some shopping & located some awesome art reference books in an unlikely place.
That evening was spent in the company of family for dinner which we had Peruvian food, it was delicious & definitely hit the spot. A nice touch to end the day.
I am thankful for the wonderful people in my life & that is definitely what makes life worth it. Thanks to all my friends, those who are dear to me & help inspire me. Best wishes to you & yours.

That's always a tough thing to put into words... your experiences & yourself are the sum of all that you've been going through... I can't recall something extremely traumatic that would make me WANT to forget it.

Working for Disney.

All of the family times spent at Christmas with the family members on my Mom's side of the family, being a smaller family we were & have been very close knit.
Confession 6: Worst experience.
Dealing with my father's explosive temper when growing up, he never abused any of his children mind you, but he was known to be very violent in his temper & also was very verbally abusive to my mother.
Confession 7: Biggest pet peeve.
People CHOOSING to be ignorant when people are trying to enlighten & share with them. That & being ignored.
Confession 8: Something you're paranoid about.
Other people's perceptions of myself, because I care what others think.
Confession 9: What you thought of your current best friend when you met them.
That I was never going to really meet them & had that changed... still one of my best friends to this day & that I've known for over 10 years now.

The golden rule: Treat others as you wish yourself to be treated. I choose to treat others with kindness & respect because I care about people often times more than I do for myself putting others' needs before my own.

Liars. Really all can stem back to this one simple fact... if you lie to someone... you are capable of lying to anyone & that's where it all stems from.

Travel (especially out of country).

Possibly might be moving away from Texas to CA, but at the same time I grew up so much while living out there... sometimes I wish I hadn't moved back & could have seen how things might've developed differently, but still... the choices were made & good has come of them, they weren't WRONG decisions.

That I am a fairly decent singer & musician.

My creativity, and being able to use that to make others happy, and trying to have a positive can do & willing attitude.

Seeing others in pain & being able to do NOTHING to comfort them.

Posted 14 years agoI'll hopefully have a bigger better review later on, but suffice to say I had a good time at FC, sometimes never getting the chance to see & spend as much time with EVERYONE you want to, yet still having the opportunity to enjoy the company of welcome friends. I also got to meet plenty of new faces & get to interact with others. I got a dealer's table a week before the con on a stroke of luck & was able to have a blast drawing & hobnobbing with folks. I'll be having plenty of pictures from the con to post.
If I did artwork for you I'd love a scan or picture of it to post, I have only 2 commissions I had to take home that are now in the que of things I'm finishing. After doing more settling into my apartment that I recently moved into I'll be in more production mode to work through my small backlog of things to complete. I hope to actually be able to post to accept outside of convention commissions, but until then I'll keep folks posted.
I will be likely uploading a lot of pics to an FA gallery site & link things there because I created my own meme for pictures I took that involved a cute METROID plush that I purchased at the convention.

New Year - New Beginnings
Posted 14 years agoWell this year is hopefully one that will be bringing forth a lot of positive change in my life. Last year was one of the hardest years on me emotionally next to losing to dear beloved family members 2011 was horrible for me, it had ups & downs like anything does. Yet it's hard to describe in full detail the whole issues that happened, much of it was personal & I really am not going to discuss in real detail on it.
Suffice to say over the holidays things had been hectic & strained from the end of November through NYE, but what I can say is that with the NYE celebration I got a chance to really have a heart to heart with some friends whom I had strained relations with & I think that we had very cathartic discussions & could come heart to heart as it were to understand where things were coming from. Well I hope that things are on the mend, but I still reserve judgement yet remain hopeful & optimistic I have to sprinkle things with enough realism to understand that not everyone sees or works things the same way that I do... I hope that things will improve & be just as strong or stronger than before but who's to say...
In other news I'm in the process of organizing & cleaning on a new apartment I moved into yesterday, with the help of local movers I managed to get NEARLY everything I own in 1 go to the new area I'm living in which is closer to the DFW area mecca of furs. So hopefully will be able to enjoy spending time with more of my friends, yet am still centrally located enough to not be too worried about distance to meet/hang with folks in DFW.
I want to say thanks to my dear friends (you all know who you are) cause without you this year would've possibly been even worse for my own mental health, but you are all wonderful to be so kind & caring to deal with a frazzled ferret. Things since July have been definitely improving & hopefully a fully congealed ferret will be better & improved for all the hard knocks given throughout this year.

Still Catching Up
Posted 14 years agoWork has had me busy but holiday stresses have made for a hectic time this year for me to put it mildly. Suffice to say there's changes in the works & hopefully it'll make a good start for 2012 cause 2011 couldn't have been much worse for me. I'm thankful for those who've stuck with me through the turmoil & tumultuous turbulent times. But as with all change there's perspective it's not always the best change. Who knows what things will come of this. I hope I don't lose folks whom I care about in the whole process. But maybe it's time to reevaluate where I think I stand with some people. In any event:

Catching Up
Posted 14 years agoWell there's been a lot that's gone on as of late, believe me I'm sorry & hope I've not offended folks. I'm going to do my utmost to get in touch with folks & make better on my communication because it's unprofessional to be as non-communicative as I've been concerning past due commissions from conventions.
Please bear with me & I ask you to be kind, there's been a lot of personal things that have gone on this year, from moving to a new apartment, a change in job (for the better mind you) and some personal issues that have arisen & since calmed down with family. It's affected me heavily in various ways. But I have managed to stay sane through it all, thankfully (for now).
I've attended a couple conventions this fall, MFM, I have 2 past due commissions from this convention, then also MWFF here recently & due to issues at the con I've had to take a lot of work home with me which I try to avoid... I'll be getting to work on things ASAP & keeping in touch with commissioners, but if you could take it upon yourself to note me so I have any means to contact & keep you updated on the status of said commissions I'll do my best to do so.
When I get a chance I'll post a list & the updated status as I'm working on it for everyone to see... trying to do things in order of when I received the commission etc.
