Flat colored sketch commissions open! [1 slots]
Posted 4 years agoAfter a long while, I'm finally opening commissions again.
Two slots, for refined sketch + flat colors, 30 USD.
I might open more slots next week as I finish more stuff from my current queue.
EDIT: One slot left!

Situation update / Commissions still open
Posted 6 years agoSmall update on the computer situation!
Thanks to the influx of commissions, plus some donations (thanks everyone), I managed to afford almost all of the replacement parts, and most of them already arrived.
Now I'm just waiting for the last few ones (namely the case, cooler and potentially a hard drive or two) and then I'll have my work computer back (...assuming none of the parts is defective).
Meanwhile, I'm still open for more of these 20$ emergency sketch commissions. Right now I have a few I'm working on already, but the waiting list is always open to more.
I'll close the queue as soon as the last parts arrive and my computer is up and running, at which point I'm gonna work on the previous commissions as well.
Again, thanks everyone for all the help <3

My computer is dead! Opening emergency sketch commissions!
Posted 6 years agoSo... my computer is toast. The motherboard died and there's no viable replacement for it (it was too old already), so I'll have to buy a whole pack of parts. New motherboard, new CPU, RAM and a video card.
...And since I don't have money for those and I only have my (broken but functional) laptop to work with, I'm opening emergency sketch commissions.
20 USD each (50 BRL for Brazilians), and the sketches will be delivered in the same day. Detailed sketches, optionally with some color slapped in for free.
(some examples can be found in this twitter thread, or through my gallery
https://twitter.com/DoppelShifter/s.....07770819723264)
I'll stay open for these until I can afford the new parts.
Oh and Ko-fi donations are welcome too. Every little help will be very welcome.
Sorry everyone.

Sorry for the short hiatus, back to work now
Posted 7 years agoHad some... complicated snags in the last few weeks.
Motivation is already a recurrent issue in general, but last month we had all that fuss with the Brazilian elections, and some of the fallout about it.
And then, last week, my dog died. Shimi was 9 years old and was living with a friend of the family. He was poisoned, probably by one of the neighbors.
This week, I went to an event with lots of presentations, workshops and talks from lots of important people in the local game dev industry. It was much-needed boost of motivation, which I hope will help me to keep moving forward.
Starting today, I'm back to my art though. A few commissions to work on, and then more YCH slots to open next week.
Let's get this moving, shall we?

Posted 7 years ago[ UPDATE: CLOSED FOR NOW! ]

- Any species (as long as it's not anything too wild or that'll change the poses)
- Any sex/gender (...though I personally wanna draw more boobies)
- SFW/NSFW (<3)
- Clothes/Armor and weapon designs are negotiable (complexity will define the final price).
- Artwork will be flat color + simple shading.
Price is 30~40USD, depending on complexity.
I might open more slots after I'm done with the first two (specially if more people show any interest).

Posted 7 years ago...So. I've been playing a little bit of Monster Hunter World, and I kinda loved the game.
Problem is, I'm still playing through Steam Family Sharing. So... in order to not have to borrow a friend's Steam account for hours and hours, I'm opening a single commission slot.
Full-body character illustration, with simple shading. Monster Hunter themed, so the character will be wearing your armor of choice, and weapon of choice (you can either tell me the set, or just give me some vague idea and some artistic freedom and I'll design something more unique).
Price is 35 USD .
Payment's upfront, through paypal invoice. The rest of my usual commission rules still apply.
Anywho, now to more monster hunting

So, BFF was... a thing.
Posted 7 years agoMy first con ever.
The con itself was good, all things considered.
It was crowded as fuck, and the space was not nearly enough for a con of that size, but still... it had lots of nice people.
I've met other artists and suit makers, took pictures and got autographs with
foxamoore , met
kerotzuki , learned lots of new things that will surely make my life easier next time I go to a (potentially even bigger) con in the future...
Like... I don't regret going to it.
...But so many things went wrong in so many levels...
Between the problems with the distance to the hotel (we were counting with a car, but the plan was scrapped because of the rain), the fact I only sold a single print at the dealers' den, and then had an anxiety attack, followed a few hours later by a blackout and subsequent loss of some of my memories of the day...
Not to mention how we took to long to get back to the airport, which meant I missed my flight and had to pay for a full-price plane ticket to get back home, which exploded my budget to smithereens. Might have to open emergency commissions just to break even.
...Oh, and I was also stupid enough to drop by the city where my ex lives, and meet up with her. Not the best idea of my week.
And then I said something stupid to a friend when I got back, and might have made her not-exactly-easy life a little more difficult. Just. Great.
Sometimes I just want to disappear. Sometimes I want to calm down and just bounce back and try again.
I mean...
It's not the end of the world. But fuck me, this could've been at least a little easier...

Mad dash for BrasilFurFest
Posted 7 years agoWell, these last few weeks have been intense, but nothing compared to these last few days...
5 days left until BFF, and I still have so much to do.
...Sorry for the lack of activity on the gallery. I just have so much in my hands right now. Finishing a half-suit head, buying clothes, finishing two pieces to print and sell at the con...
All of this is being pretty stressful, but also... makes me actually feel alive. Between this and the mad dash for the postgrad program a few months ago, this has been my most active year in a very long while. For someone who had to fight depression for at least some 5 years, this doesn't feel half bad.
Anywho. Hopefully see ya folks if I survive the con >.>
Cheers!

Commission Info / Terms of Service [Updated]
Posted 7 years agoI'm still refining and revising these, but my preliminary commission rules are as follows:
[NEW]: Recent revisions will be highlighted as [NEW], and there will be a comment below with a shortlist of changes.
Updated in July 29th, 2020.
1) Pricing:
It varies, and I'll mostly re-state my prices on a case-by-case scenario every time I open commissions slots. But here's a general guideline (prices in USD)
Half Body/Bust: 25$ base price (flat colors). +15$ for additional character, +10$ for shading.
Full Body: 40$ base price (flat colors), +20$ for additional character, +10$ for shading.
Reference Sheet: 100$ base price, includes front and back view + color palette and character info (addons, such as additional poses, complex anatomic details such as wings or horns, complex markings and extra drawings for anatomical details, will cost extra on a case-by-case scenario).
All prices can have an additional for complexity, depending on the situation. Artistic freedom can add a discount.
Prices can be revised at any moment, at my discretion.
2) Payment:
Specific conditions are negotiable, but my usual procedure is as follows:
- Payment is either "full up-front" or "half-upfront + half after the commission is finished".
- Preliminary sketches and previews for illustrations not paid full-upfront will be sent in a lower resolution and watermarked. For commissions paid fully up-front, all previews and sketches will be sent in full resolution and with no watermarks.
Special case: in YCH or certain discounted commissions, I might request for payment upfront-only.
- Payment is through Paypal Invoices, US Dollars only.
- For Brazilian commissioners, other options are available (transfer/deposit/PicPay), paid in Brazilian Real.
- Refunds will depend on how much work was done so far. Full refund if no work was done, and partial refund based on how much work was done until the cancellation of the commission [NEW] (this can reach a "no refund" point for artwork that's either already too close to completion, or had excessive reworking done at the request of the client).
- [NEW] In the case of cancellation brought by excessive requests for changes, this might be counted towards "how much work was done", and thus revoke rights for refunds. This will be analyzed on a case-by-case scenario.
3) Process/alterations:
- I tend to divide each work into milestones (sketch, lines, flats, shading, completed piece)
- Once the commission starts, I'll send previews at least at the end of every milestone, at which point the commissioner can request alterations or approve the work for the next step.
- The commissioner can request previews at any stage.
- Alterations and tweaks must be requested before approval of each step/milestone. After approval, alterations will only be done in case of a serious error on my part.
- Preview resolution and presence of a watermark depend on the type of payment (full-res and no watermark for works paid fully upfront).
- [NEW] Excessive requests for changes will not be accepted. It's hard to put an exact number on "how many changes is too much", but rule of thumb is "if the constant changes feel like this is becoming two commissions or a higher-tier commission, it's already too much". I reserve the right to refuse further changes.
4) Rights management
- The commission consists on the purchase of the labor only. I still retain full copyright over the work done, regardless of stage of completion.
- I retain the rights to upload, redistribute, sell as prints or use the image for self-promotion or example/sample for sales, except under specific cases and requests.
- Rejected sketches can be re-purposed as YCH-style commissions by me at a later date.
- The commissioner may not use the work for commercial uses, prints, NFTs or merchandise unless they explicitly ask for formal permission and are authorized to do so.
- The commissioner may not edit, alter or trace the image, in any stage of completion, or hire other artists to do so, unless explicitly authorized.
- The art can be re-uploaded elsewhere, as long as credit to me is present, and the image is uncropped and unaltered (except for resolution).
5) Will draw / Won't draw
Golden rule: when in doubt, ask.
Will draw:
- Anthro/furry characters (including taurs and other alternative species)
- SFW or Adult
- Any gender/sex (including hybrids)
- Some fetishes (bondage/shibari, tentacles, etc).
Won't draw:
- Sexual/adult situations involving underage characters (loli, cub)
- Sexual/adult situations involving ferals
- Hate art (racism, homophobia, transphobia, nazi propaganda/paraphernalia, etc)
- Diapers, babyfur, scat
- Some extreme fetishes (unbirth, hard vore, hard gore, muscle inflation, balloon inflation, etc)
Caveats:
- Again, when in doubt, *ask*.
- I'm not very good with male/male content. I might give it a shot on a case-by-case scenario, but it's not my expertise, and not exactly my taste.
- I'm not very good with ferals. Might give it a shot on a case-by-case, but not my expertise.
6) Technical specificities
- I usually draw on a 300DPI A3 or A4 canvas and downscale from there, but that can be adapted to the commissioner's needs.
- Drawings are delivered in lossless PNG format, unless the commissioner has a specific requirement.
- The software I use is Krita. My tablet is an Intuos 5 Small.
- [NEW] Coloring is done using a monitor with 100% sRGB color space. As this degree of coverage and color accuracy is not guaranteed in all monitors, some colors might appear differently from monitor to monitor, including the client's. I do tend to check how the colors look in different monitors, but if the colors look different from desired, the client has the right to ask for color tweaks, but within the constraints of the rules in section 3 of these terms.
7) Golden Rule
WHEN IN DOUBT, ASK.

Rising from the ashes
Posted 7 years ago....*cough cough*
...Yeah, I'm finally back to artstuff. It's been a while.
It'll still take me a few days to upload some of my older art, and also re-follow everyone and then some.
I'm also re-opening my Weasyl gallery (same username), and I'm eventually gonna build some side-galleries in other sites, such as FurryNetwork.
Anywho, it's good to be back.
See ya later, peepz.
