General | Posted 19 years agoStill nothing new from me I'm afraid.
As I think I've mentioned before, I tend to work in cycles of 'ups' and 'downs'. Right now I am in the midst of a 'down' cycle - concerving my energy for the 'up' cycle to come. Sometimes I just need to get a little kick to get myself jumpstarted toward the 'up'.
I'll be working on a few things over the holiday break so hopefully I'll have something soon.
Have hope!

Expect me, especially at unusual times!
General | Posted 19 years agoNot too much art from me at the moment I'm afraid.
I tend to work in waves; a series of pics or writings in swift order, then a long space where I can't get pencil to paper.
So don't despair, I havn't dropped off the face of the earth yet. I'm just resting my muse for the next spasm of artistic productivity.

What Happened to Halloween?
General | Posted 19 years agoI love Halloween.
When I was a kid it was hard for me to decide which holiday was my favorite, Christmas, for all the presents - or Halloween for the skelatons and candy.
In the end I settled on my own Hatchday because then the whole day is dedicated to me! That counts as a holiday, right?
Normally, I go all out of the season; skeletons hanging from the outside tree, little tombstones in the yard, a zombie...somewere...and plenty of fake cobwebs and candy.
Unfortunatly, I learned rather quickly that arizona doesn't get as many Trick or Treaters as I got use to in Nebraska. So all my decorations toned down a bit.
But I love giving out candy. My own childhood was less then stellar and I have a deep well of nostalgia for my younger years despite my not-yet-so-old age.
Each year I buy several bags of candy and put myself into a costume of some kind, even though I don't intend to leave the house. On days when the 31st happens to fall during the workweek, I'll wear a little something seasonal to work - one of the only people who does so.
This year I didn't put out as much decoration, or buy as much candy. I had my costume ready, but never put it on. Then I waited.
No one came.
Over the years that I've lived on my own in arizona, the most number of Trick or Treaters I think I've ever had was 5. A bit disapointing, but that allowed me to say "Just take a big handful." and watch there eyes go all greedy.
But this was the first year that I had none.
My helmet full of Jolly Rancher sticks, Hershey bars and Twizzlers sat forlorn on the coffee table as the clock flashed the time away.
Several times I stepped outside just to see if I could hear any kids. Even if none came to my place, just to know that they were out there would have comforted me. But there was no sound but the drone of the city, unchanging and endless.
Of all the horrible things I've had heppen to me in my short lifetime this is hardly the worst, but it's still disheartening. The entire day of the 31st passed by without a single sign to me that it was indeed the Halloween season. At least, no sign other then the pumpkin sellers and Samhain pics here on FA.
Well, now begins the 'Holiday' rush. Everyone put your helmets on...

Eragon Movie
General | Posted 19 years agoI was sitting yesterday on my couch, watching TV and eating. The show I had been watching ended and the news was comming on. But during the commercia break, I saw an ad for the movie 'Eragon'.
Now, I'm familiar with the book series (though I've never read them, indeed, I've been kind of avoiding them) and had known that one was planned. But this took me by surprise.
After Peter Jackson's 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy and the continuing 'Harry Potter' movie saga, as well as the 'Narnia' peice, film adaptations of great fantasy literature seem to be in fashion.
CGI is getting cheaper and cheaper and, for the moment at least, films with large environs and pretty effects are almost garenteed a decent run.
The effects for the 'Eragon' movie seem to fit right in this mold. There were shots of huge castles and enormously vast, beautiful spaces filled with thousands of armed soldiers with bright spears and eager faces.
I was not suprised by anything I really saw. Another upcomming blockbuster that will likely be filled with positives and negatives and how much of each will determine it's success to each individual viewer.
But I was shaken. For those who don't know (few I would imagine), 'Eragon' has much to do with Dragons. In fact I beleive the cover of the book is adorned with the image of a somewhat stern looking Drake.
That Dragon, something stirred in me.
It's difficult for me to quantify or describe, especially in a fluent tone, but it moved me.
Of late, I've been feeling very proud to be a Dragon. When I came into the fandom I thought very long and hard about what creature suited me best and I think I made the right choice. But I had no quantifyable 'spiritual' connection to Dragons that I was aware of, nor did I concider them 'real' aside from a kind of cultural egregore. Dragons were just a creature that I respected and loved and felt closer to then canines or delphines or even Dinosaurs (the reasoning behind this would take a while to explain).
But here I was, watching TV having just recently finished a poem regarding a famous Dragon, feeling proud to be Dragon, neither as a superior being or a master of anything, just feeling content with my choice of avatar; and then I see that Eragon Dragon.
The commercial itself seemed rather pointless, showing off the effects, showing off more effects, some rather forgetful dialogue and back to showing off effects. But that Dragon.
I've been rambling pretty badly up till now mainly because I'm having conciderable trouble trying to put my point down. That Dragon 'moved' me. Something about the way it moved, and flew. I can't describe it any more then I could describe something I've never seen. I had a feeling for which I don't known any name. Or perhaps it was a combination of feelings in a configuration I'd never had before.
I was profoundly moved, almost to tears. I don't know if I'll go to see the movie (from what I know of the books I doubt I'd like it) nor do I think it was anything about the movie itself that effected me.
I remember when I first saw a trailer for 'Jurassic Park'. How I raved! But those were emotions I knew (although amplified by my affection for Dinosaurs)- excitment, joy, reckognition.
This, was something differant.
A "spiritual flare" my brother calls it. His sences are more keen on such things then mine are.
Whatever it was, I'm writting something about it here, and in my private journal, so that at some other time, when the memory fades, I can remember it.
That's what journals are all about, right?

For seven spooge-filled days we will dedicate our artistic talents to a tantalizing menu of carnal delights. We encourage our fellow FA members to join in if they so wish, and to simply repost this list in their journals if participating:
Monday Masturbation
* A single character pressing their own buttons
Tuesday Girl on Girl
* A lesbian couple in the heat of the moment
Wednesday Guy on Guy
* A boy couple getting yiffy
Thursday Hetro-sex
* Boy meets girl.. you know the rest
Friday Orgy antics
* Group sex involving multiple characters (more than two)
Saturday Props and playthings
* Sex involving toys (may include bondage gear, vibrators, or anything else)
Sunday Kinky as you can
* Think tentacles, robots, whatever pushes you beyond your comfort zone!
So, if youre watching just sit back, relax and enjoy. If youre keen to get in on the act, remember at least one piece of art should be posted per day. Try to keep to the theme of each day if you can. This project is to help improve our skills and keep us on our toes by drawing stuff that might not usually be our preference. =^0^=

General | Posted 19 years agoSooner or later people are going to get tired of me doing these things... But I like them. They're fun to do and allow people to get a better idea of who I am and what I stand for.
1a. What is your character's name?
D.O.P.R
1b. Your character's height & weight?
approx. 30ft from snout to tail with my wingspan being slightly longer tip-to-tip. As for weight; find me a scale big enough and we'll find out.
2a. What kind of character is he (furry, anime, etc) and any particular race?
The Common (or 'Greater') Earth Dragon, Draco Rex Cristatus
2b. Your Character's Job (what do they do) ?
He's an artist, spending most of his time working on various projects such as writting short stories and drawing pics for his friends.
3. What is the first thing your character would think of when he first wakes up?
"How did that dream go?"
4. Your character's favorite outfit would be?
One of the benefits of being a Dragon is that all my 'bits' are internal. I have neither the need, nor the desire to wear clothing. The few adornments I do wear are a ring on my left index finger and another hanging from a chain around my neck.
5. When your character looks into a mirror, what's the first thing they would notice?
"Are my scales shiny?" This isn't so much vanity as it is a determiner of health. Dull, shine-less scales are the first indicator of poor health.
6. Does your character have the same tastes in food as you?
For the most part, although he has more of a penchant for wine then I do.
7. How is your character similar to you?
There are no physical similarities, but he shares pretty much all my opinions although with better judgment and temperance.
8. How is he different?
Well for starters, he's a freakin' huge DRAGON! D.O.P.R the Dragon is really just the image I put onto my otherwise faceless online persona, but as an entity unto himself, he's much wiser, much more fairspoken and much happier with himself and his environment. Basicly, he's everything I try to be, but am not.
9. If your character could speak, would they have the same voice as you?
No, Dragons are blessed with very mellifluous voices and have an impeccable sence of diction. It has been well-recorded that a Dragon's voice can captivate those are are unwary, I belive this to be true.
10. If you were to suddenly become your character, what do you think would be the first thing you would do as them?
Fly.
11. Is there something about your character that you don't like how others think of them?
He's often shown as more playful and more carefree then I think he really is. He's lighthearted and does indeed play, but most of the time he is rather reserved and contemplative. Also (and this is mainly my fault) he is shown as being much, much more sexual then I think he really is, or would want to be.
12. What advantages does your character have over you?
Quite a few actually. THe main one is his wisdom. This itself doesn't bring happiness, but it brings understanding and, to some extent, contentment.
13. What disadvantages?
He's much bigger, so he has trouble getting into certain places. He's also a Dragon and has to deal with the various prejudiceses and 'remedies' which are associated with Dragons.
14. Do you have any secrets relating to your character that only you know?
The meaning behind the acronym. Techincly there is one other who knows the full version and it is for her sake that it is kept secret. She is the only one who can fill the other half.
15. Do you have any secret drawings only you know about?
A few sketches. There is one other that was done as a commission a long while ago that I pray is forgotton/destroyed.
16. Do you have any plans for your character or are you working on something big relating to him?
Not really. I've thought of giving him a feathery/furry mane, but that's about it.
17. What misconception(s), if any, do people have about your character?
D.O.P.R, as an idividual entity, does not yiff. I do since D.O.P.R is the character I portray, but D.O.P.R himself has already given his love to someone and will not lay with anyone else. Period. He's also straight, wereas I am Bi.
18. If you could have just ONE characteristic from your character, what would it be?
His tempermant. He's level-headed and wise, much apart from me.
19. Have you made any characters that go along with yours, based on real-life people, that have the same relationship with your character as you with the real-life person?
No, all the characters I've drawn him with were created by others.
20. Have you written any stories about your character?
He made a brief appearance in a short I wrote for the forumites on the 'Jack' webcomic forums, but nothing featuring him as a main character.
21. How has your character changed since his/her first creation?
A lot. He, as I imagine him as an individual entity, hasn't changed, but I have been a dreadfully poor steward of his name. I havn't been holding very well to the ideals which he prizes and have twisted him into something almost unreckognizable from what he started out to be.
22. Give us a one-liner from him.
"Were it not for the laziness of my arms, the path, such as it is, would not have been."
23. What's something people would be surprised to learn about your character?
He himself, is totally straight. He's not against Bi or gay in anyway, nor does he oppose it in any fashion, he just doesn't practice it himself.
24. If you met your character in real life, what would you do with him?
I would want to talk with him. I would lay against his mighty, barrel-chest and we would talk. After that, he could set me upon his back and fly me somewere.
25. If you could have surgery to genetically make you resemble your character IRL - would you ?
That would be some surgery... But yes, if it made me just as I imagine him, I would.
Ok, now you try.

Goetze's Candies
General | Posted 19 years agoI saw a strange thing today.
The lady who rund the Order Entry dept. at my workplace came through and put a few handfuls of candy in shipping (my dept.) and, being fond of sweets, I went to see what the selection was.
There were Sweet/Tarts, which don't agree with my mouth, and Worther's Originals (I took several of these) and another candy.
It was a sort of tan-brown all along the outside, with a whiteish center and was called "Goetze's Bullseye".
Now, I am, unfortunatly, familiar with the widely-distributed picture of the name 'Goetse', showing a rather...well, those who have seen it already know, those that havn't can google it.
Having seen this, somewhat dubious wonder, the though of eating a candy showing a white 'hole' in the center of a dark skin-toned 'body' didn't exactly appeal to me.
Aside from that little anecdote, I really don't have any point to this journal.
But, to prevent it from being a total waste, I will write pr0n.
There, I just did.

In Progs
General | Posted 19 years agoI know I've got quite a lot of partial pics already, but what do you guys think about seeing some of my 'In Progress' pics?
I ask because in some cases having a bunch of positive comments on a pic I'm not too motivated on might just make me motivated.
But on the other side of the coin, I don't want to clutter things up with three differant versions of the same pic.
What do you think?

Especailly if it's a guess as to what my acronym stands for.

Friction Burn!
General | Posted 19 years agoNow I know why those stories of day-thru-to-night sex marathons are concidered fantasy....
Oww...
Got some new stuff on the way (couple gift-arts, couple 'rappies), just have to get motivated to finishing them.
By the way, anyone interested in commissions, or art trades, go ahead and let me know.

Be Warned! Another 'Survey'
General | Posted 19 years agoFollowing on the heels of the last survey, here's another I snagged from tieldraggy.
. Who are you?: D.O.P.R
. Are we friends?: Not yet, but the possibility exists.
. When and how did we meet?: You Favorited me, and I liked your gallery items enough to do likewise.
. Would you kiss me?: Perhaps if I knew you better, but I think my consort would have something to say about that...
. Give me a nickname and explain why?: Tiely. It's short and to the point.
. Describe me in one word!: Full.
. What was your first impression of me?: Hmmm, likes vore seemingly... That fuzzy head makes him look cute.
. Do you still think the same?: Yep.
. What reminds you of me?: Any black Dragon with a fuzzy head.
. If you could give me anything what would it be?: A little bit more attention.
. How well do you know me?: Hardly at all. Aside from your last survey, I don't know you much at all.
. Are you going to put this on your journal and see what i say about you?: I think I just did... As for seeing what you say about me, I don't think you know me very well at all either, but It would be very interesting to hear what kind of impression I give off.
. Would you ever meet up with me?: I love meeting new people and any chance I can get, if practicable, I take to met other furs.
Heh, if I knew tiel better then perhaps this would have been a bit more interesting. But as it gets passed around to more journals I'm sure others will pick up were I left off.

Survey
General | Posted 19 years agoI've always rather liked these surveys, though I don't often fill them out.
I got this one from Tieldraggy and figured that since I have this journal, and apperantly people are watching it, I might as well fill it out.
Single or Taken:: Taken
Happy about that:: Things are strange between us (mostly on my part), and I have much thinking to do on it.
Eye color:: Blue-Green
Shoe size:: 11
Height:: 6ft plain
What are you wearing right now?:: A black Tshirt my parents brought for me from Las Vegas bearing the image of a B'rel class Bird of Prey and the words (both in english and Klingonese) "We are Klingon!"
I also have on a pair of 'Faded Glory' carpenter style jeans (which I prefer) and my Hi-Tek hiking boots.
Righty or Lefty:: While I'm left eye dominant, I'm Right-Handed
Can you make a dollar in change right now?:: No. I have $13 american in bills and a dime.
FAVORITES
Kind of pants:: Carpenter (or Painter's) style. I enjoy having pockets, but not ones so bulky as in cargo pants.
Animal:: That's a hard question to answer. When seeing a delphine, I'm apt to say Orcas; but that might change. But I will answer Utahraptor ostrommaysorum since the Dromaeosauridae have always been dear to my heart (though a safer, but more vauge, answer would be 'Dinosaurs' in general).
Drink:: Root Beer. I have several favorites within this. A&W makes the best floats, but (though there are strong contenders) Barq's makes the best sipping RB.
Month:: July
Favorite cartoon:: 'The Land Before Time'. The original Don Bluth film shaped much of what I was as a child and became as a man.
HAVE YOU EVER...
Given anyone a bath:: No, not yet.
Bungee Jumped?:: No, but I hope too.
Made yourself throw-up?:: Almost, to get out of school for a day, but decided that it wasn't worth sinning for.
Skinny dipped?:: Yes, but as far as I know, there were no witnesses.
Loved someone so much it made you cry?:: Yes.
Broken a bone:: Never that I know of (and I think I would).
Played truth or dare:: Yes, but I was in only one round.
Been in a physical fight:: Unfortunatly yes, though I was rather good at getting out of them. I am rather proud of the fact that I have never lost a fight, although I had one draw.
Been on a plane:: Yes, several times. I enjoy flying during the day, when there are plenty of clouds. It makes me feel glad.
Came close to dying:: Yes, but that was a while in the past.
Been in a hot tub:: Yes, my parents owned one for a short time. We enjoyed using it outside amidst all the winter snow.
Fallen asleep in school:: A few times, generally by accident. I will sleep through just about anything once I'm off, so I try not to let it happen.
Ran away:: In moments of childish rage I thought about it; but I knew better then to threaten it, or do it.
Broken someone's heart:: Yes, and I'm still bitter about it. Her's wasn't the only heart broken when we parted.
Cried when someone died:: Yes. It takes me some time for the depth of it to set in, but it's inescapable.
Fell off your chair:: Yes. Sometimes in laughter, sometimes with grief.
Sat by the phone all night waiting for someone to call:: No, but I've had days were I expected a call at any time during the whole day.
Saved AIM conversations:: Yes, mostly for good reasons.
Used someone:: Not in cruel ways. Although I once set up a friend to draw for me a picture that I intened to give to someone else. Fortunatly, the result was what I hoped, and they met.
Been cheated on:: Not maliciously, although the question doesn't include 'open' relationships.
WHAT IS...
Beside you:: A large box being used as a trash can on the forward left, and a laptop sitting on a TV-tray on the direct right.
Last thing you ate:: A slice of mozzarella
EVER HAD...
Chicken pox:: Yes, I walked into the bath with a single spot, and walked out with dozens. But I remember it being rather painless and quick.
Sore Throat:: Many, many times. That is usually the fist sign that I'm getting ill.
Stitches:: Yes, just below my right thumb, just inside the wrist. I needed four.
Broken nose:: Fortunatly know.
DO YOU BELIEVE IN.. love at first sight:: Tricky, but I would have to say no. You can be 'infatuated' at first sight, but love as I know it comes from an understanding of the person.
Long distant relationships:: Yes, I've seen it happen, and am watching it happen now. In some ways, I think they can be better then the face-to-face, in that over an IM screen there is no visual image to subconsiously judge. You get to know the person, before the face.
Liked school:: Elementary school was as akin to hell as I think I've ever been, save once. While I enjoy learning, the public shool system does not make it enjoyable, or even desireable. I've learned more from the Discovery channel, TLC and the History channel then I retained in school.
Question yourself:: Constantly.
Who makes you smile the most?:: Fancy, that's actually the toughest question yet! My consort, Usagi makes me laugh quite a bit. She's my choice.
Who knows you the best:: She knows who she is. But I've changed since then. My dear friend Justin, knows me best. Of all the people I've known, he has stayed by me, though we be seperated by several states.
Do you like filling these out:: I've enjoyed it so far (though I imagine I'm having more fun typing it then people will have reading it).
Do you get along with your family:: Yes. My brother and I are estranged, but I don't hate him. My mother's side is very 'traditional' and hard for me to endure for long. But all the others are close to me; especially my Grandpa Jack.
FINAL QUESTIONS:
What did you do yesterday:: Worked (we've been busy) and spent the evening at home feeling a bit sick at heart.
What car/truck do you wish to have:: An IROC-Z Camaro t-top. Either black with silver trim, or white with black stripes.
Have a lava lamp?:: Yes, but they never seem to last long.
How many remote controls are in your house?:: Three. TV, VCR/DVD, Stereo
Are you double jointed?:: No, but I can double-roll my tongue in a way that most people can't.
When did you last shower?:: Yesterday evening.
Scary or Funny Movies?:: Funny, though the distinction is vauge.
Chocolate or Vanilla:: Chocolate.
Rootbeer or # Root Beer by a long road.
Summer or winter:: Summer.
Silver or Gold:: Gold. I have a golden ring that I keep on a chain about my neck. It's very dear to me, though I buy it with great pain...
Diamond or pearl:: Diamond.
Sprite or 7up:: 7up, though I havn't had either in a matter of years.
Coffee or tea:: Neither, both are rejected by my tastebuds.
Phone or in person:: In person, I'm not fond of talking over the phone.
TODAY DID YOU...
Talk to someone you liked:: Yes, the drummer in a local band that I also happen to work with. He's the most humbly bold, most self-sacrificing person I know.
Buy something:: Nothing so far today.
Get sick:: No, though it would take a while to get through my bloodstream.
Miss someone:: Yes, the same I miss all the time.
LAST PERSON WHO....
Slept in your bed:: My cat Gil-Galad (Gilly).
Saw/heard you cry:: My consort, though I didn't intend for her to see.
Made you cry:: My consort, Usagi.
Said "I Love You" to:: Usagi
Ever been in a fight with your pet:: Not a real one, but I like to playfight with my cat. I have the scratches as evidence.
Been to Mexico:: Not yet. I've never been out of the United States.
Been to Europe:: No, but my best friend has and I would love to go.
RANDOM.....
Do you have a crush on someone right now:: Yes.
What book are you reading now:: 'Watership Down', by Richard Adams
Future KIDS names:: Justin is the only one I have settled on for certain. Though I rather like Elizabeth. What I would really like is to give my children names that are uterly unique and would set them apart. Unfortunatly, that would make them targets for ridicule also.
Do you sleep with a stuffed animal:: No, but my consort does. I will, on a whim, grab one but I don't keep it with me.
What's under your bed:: Many things dark and horrible... A large keyboard, several slats that have shaken loose and other assorted things the cats drag under there.
Favorite sports:: Aussie Football. Other then that, I don't follow sports.
What are you most scared of right now?:: I'd rather abvoid that question, except to say that it's up to me to disspell it or not.
Who do you really hate?:: There are many people, many political, many just smucks I work with.
Do you have a pet?:: Two cats, Gil-Galad (Gilly) and Khan.
Have you ever liked someone you didn't have a chance with?:: Oh yes. I'm not sure he (or his significant other) would want me to name him here, but I think he might know who he is.
Are you lonely right now?:: Yes, but not in the usual way.
Song that's stuck in your head right now?:: Nothing at present.
Have you ever played strip poker:: No, nor do I intend to ever try.
Have you ever been on radio/TV:: Twice while I was in Boy Scouts.
Have you ever been in a mosh-pit:: At a Christian camp no less. But it was improvised for the sole purpose of giveing two other boys at the camp a reason to knock down and slam around another camp-goer. I got involved to balance the equation in his favor.
Ever liked someone, but thought they never noticed?:: Yes, I still wonder sometimes if they have.
Favorite Locations:: 1620 Grant St. in my hometown. I was raised in that house and my memory often goes there. Nostalgia can make me smile just as much as it makes me weep.
RANDOM (AGAIN)....
Whats the first things you notice about the opposite sex?:: Gait. You can tell a lot about a person by how they bear themselves.
Your Favorite Food?:: Pizza on a butter-cheese crust.
Ever get so drunk you don't remember?:: I've never been drunk. I have gotten a 'buzz' once or twice, but I'm stupid enough when I'm sober.
Are you too shy to ask someone out?:: For the most part, yes; though I seldom got the chance or felt the need.
Hugs or Kisses?:: Hugs.
Dogs or cats?:: Cats, but only because I have never owned my own dog. If I did, I may well change my answer.
Favorite Flower?:: Not something I've thought of before.
Have you ever fired a gun?:: I'll post a pic of all of my rifles.
How many pillows do you sleep with?:: 1 or none.
Are you missing someone right now?:: Yes.
Have any pets that died that you miss?:: My cat Monster II.
Rather fun. I'm interested to see who else takes this and what they have to say.
D.O.P.R
I got this one from Tieldraggy and figured that since I have this journal, and apperantly people are watching it, I might as well fill it out.
Single or Taken:: Taken
Happy about that:: Things are strange between us (mostly on my part), and I have much thinking to do on it.
Eye color:: Blue-Green
Shoe size:: 11
Height:: 6ft plain
Month:: July

General | Posted 19 years agoExciting news to me, and perhaps to some others.
http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/boo......ap/index.html
This means that the likelihood of me creating a few more LOTR-related pictures is rather high. Especially ones that concern my favorite of all the dwelling places of the First Born east of the sea...
The City of the Music of Water, The Hidden City, The City of Seven Gates; in the elven tognue: Ondolinde, Gar Thurion, Gondobar, Gondothlimbar, Gwarestrin, Gondost.
Gondolin the fair, hidden realm of Turgon now vanished.

Artist's Creed
General | Posted 19 years agoJava had a great post in her journal today that I thought was very insightful (you should check her page anyway, she's good).
It reminded me of another Artist's Creed that I had read somewhere else, and the two had very much the same advice:
"Don't do the same 'ol-same 'ol. If you don't expand your artistic horizon, you'll stagnate."
I started my own comic, RapRex, as a chance to experiment with persepective and attempt some angles that I wasn't so good at.
I had too many static profiles in my sketchbooks and it was high time I tried something much more dynamic.
As it progressed, I began to learn new tricks, get comfortable with things that had been difficult before and began to gain a bit more artistic self-confidence.
Since then my style has changed conciderably and I feel much better as an artist.
I have always been a 'Dino-artist', and that's still were I get my most joy, but I began trying other types, doing giftart for people I admire or in honour of movies I like and so forth. So breaking out my pens and pencils, and waaay out of my comfort zone, I came up with some pics that have become some of my personal best.
There is always room for improvment and I'll never be as good as I want to be, but I can do a hell of a lot better then I once could and I'm proud of it.

Stuff
General | Posted 19 years agoGot some more pics that I'd like to upload at some point.
I'll also be working some more on RapRex, and some more gift art (I love doing gift art) so expect something in the next few days.
For those interested, there is a new Godzilla DVD. Or, I should say...Gojira; since the new 2 DVD set is the original Japanese version 'Gojira' and the American version 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters' with Raymond Burr.
The original is a lot more anti-nuculear (and a bit anti-american) then it's Western version, as could bubly be expected. But it's still Godzilla, who I'm sure we all know and love (at least, you presumably do if you like scalies).
Rar.

General | Posted 19 years agoI'm begining to really love FA.
It's quite a thing when artists I have loved and admired for years take an intrest in 'my' work.
People like Ranagrig, Artonis, Kaa, Glenn, SkyShadow and so many more who are all so increadably talented. Seeing them watch my gallery and favorite my peices makes me feel genuinely honoured.
And while I imagine that they are all regular people and do not concider themselves people to be honored, I certainly feel honoured by them.

Work and Art
General | Posted 19 years agoThis journal writting thing is bound to point out my inconsitencies in writting style (let alone my suckitude at spelling), but I think I may just get used to it.
Today is the anneversary of the 9/11 attacks. Which means the news all around will be filled with memorials and specials. It's just as well; I don't watch the news much anymore anyway unless they have a special on 'Star Trek' or new Dinosaur discoveries.
It will likely be one of the main topics at work as well, just as the unfortunate passing of Steve Irwin was a week ago (R.I.P. Steve-O!).
Work...blah!
Our species has come so far from the crawling pits of primoridal goo that shaped and formed us into being that live.
From hunted beasts, to the only species able to physicly shape the world around us.
Look at what we can do, that no other creature on the earth can do. Buildings as high as small mountains, cities that spread faster then forests and spring up almost overnight.
New metals that mother earth herself hasn't devised.
And now we can leave the bounds of this big planet and go off to other worlds.
You know that big round silver thing you see at night? Men have stood on it. Walked on it. Made our mark upon another body in space (unless you beleive the hoax stories).
We've done all this and what, amid all of human acheivment, do I do?
I pack boxes...
Why is it all my best story ideas and the heavy, clawed hand of my muse always strike me hardest while I'm at work and unable to soothe them?
It's just as well. I draw mainly porn nowadays (many times by request) so I suppose in the greater scheme of artistic involvment, I'm just a fringe benefit.
Oh well. Now I have to go.
I'm late for work.

RapRex
General | Posted 19 years agoWell, there it is. My RapRex announcement.
I posted several pages of it on Fchan and on my gallery at Herpy, so there are samples out there to see if you just can't wait.
I've gotten so much enthusiastic feedback regarding the comic that I'm quite overwhelmed. As I mentioned in the descipt. it started out as just a little smut comic in which I practised a few new style tricks and tinkered with some new angles.
Now look at it.... I've created a monster...
I would like to someday get it coloured, hopefully before it comes out on the web, so anyone who feels like spending the next few months of their life staring at Dino cock, go ahead an IM me.

Phew...
General | Posted 19 years agoSomething shy of 35 pictures in a row...
Anyone who put a watch on me early on will have a heck of a surprise when they get back.
I can't remember for certain, but I think I started putting these up at about nine or ten PM. It's now one AM and I'm more then ready for nest.
Each pic was loaded into Photoshop, cleaned, tagged with a sig, saved as a jpeg, then uploaded, descripted and viewed to ensure quality.
I also took time to read the various comments and shouts that popped up along the way and I was not only impressed, but deeply flattered by how many people came up with positive and encouraging comments. You all have my deepest thanks.
I'll likely post more tomorrow, but for now, I think I'll have a cool drink and head to nest.
Take care everyone and pleasent dreams when you do.

A Journal
General | Posted 19 years agoI've attempted to keep a private journal on a couple of occations during my life and so far they have all, more or less, failed to stay updated.
I tend to keep my opinions and troubles to myself and the idea of a public arena where I can spout my own personal propaganda is not something that seems 'right' to me.
I do however feel it's important to have a place where I can put down comments and give those people I know abroad news about my doings and health. Seeing as I tend to be a bit of a recluse, this will undoubtedly come as a great releif.
I should mention however that much of what I write will likely be voiced in the spirit in which I wrote it and may not accuratly reflect my true feelings, or opinions. Anyone, while in an agrivated state, may say things which they do not truelly mean. Or they may write only when they feel angered, or irritated and so seem to be angry and irritable in general.
Hopefully I can keep up with this journal better then the ones I have tried to keep in the past. It shall surely get a much larger audience.
Regards,
D.O.P.R

Regards,
