So yeah, remember that Miitopia based story I wanted to write? Well, I'm doing it! The first chapter is almost done! Now I gotta get it through proofreading, including through friends of mine who volunteered to help me with the editing and it'll be good to go!

And yes, the name of the story is Tales of Furmiitopia! Cause I love Tales games too, so put Miitopia and the Tales games in a blender and you get this story!

What is Tales of Furmiitopia?
It is a story that's based on my first playthrough of Miitopia, down to the friendship events, to some of the NPCs cast, etc. Miitopia is basically a crack fanfiction that writes itself, so why not follow that promise? My playthrough of Miitopia had Miis of my characters and characters of friends (Three of the Miis in my playthrough were based on characters from friends). So this is a story that's based on my playthrough, but I want to include as many friends as I can, cause I like them that much and if the game allowed it, they totally would have been in my playthrough of Miitopia. Probably a party of 6 characters per world of Furmiitopia.

This story, as I said before, is an amalgamation of the humor of Miitopia and the action found in Tales games, where characters of my own and from my friends interact with each other in this wonderful journey throughout the world of Furmiitopia. It gets strange, funny and heartwarming (wow, way to rip off Mother 3's tagline). And it gets action-packed as characters have their own weapon type and set of artes, like a Tales game.

So expect a new story coming soon! Who knows, I might get art of this story too! I'm just too excited to get this story out of my head and into the public eyes!

I am going to PAX West this weekend! PAX, in case you don't know, is a convention that's about gaming. Video games, tabletop games, you name it! I've been going to it for three years with this being my fourth and one thing I like to do is to go to a panel called Thrown Controllers so I can meet my favorite Let's Player Chuggaaconroy.

I didn't want to have to make this journal.

So yeah, I wanted to do the next journal with more fun stuff, but NOPE. This is what I'm doing instead, so sorry guys, fun journals will have to be put on hold for a bit.

But wait, this one is kinda important. Or not. I don't know, I could be stupid as usual. I could end up with significantly less friends after this journal. Or be called a snowflake. This will be the first and last political related journal.

And FYI, if this does get into a heated debate in the comments, I will delete this journal. Because I aim to have every interaction with me to be a positive experience and political talk in general does not contribute to said experience, regardless on what side each person is on.

tl;dr - I don't engage in political talk out of fear of being lumped to one side and losing friends, you as a person is all that matters to me, political opinions be damned.

And now, the long version.

So I'm sure a lot of you guys know the events that happened this weekend and the entire week has been displaying the fallout of it all, including more angry people, broken friendships, true colors being brought out, etc. All for political talk. I've seem people turn their backs on people they once loved over something as a political view. In my opinion, that is the dumbest reason to hate anyone ever. Unless said opinion causes harm to actual humans, I don't care if you're left or right. You're middle as far as I'm concerned. The entire reason that I have reached out to you because I find you an awesome person at heart, political view be damned.

Now, you might be thinking: "Double Dee, come on, you don't have to worry. People will love you for your personality and because you're a good person."
But I do have to worry about it, innocent reader. People can be the nicest person out there, yet one opinion has some people automatically lump them to the Left or Right... mostly the Left in my observations, but that's just me being dumb about politics in general. And that's what I'd like to talk about. The entire reason I don't engage in political talk is because I don't want it to have a huge negative impact on me as a person and I don't want to lose friends over something stupid as politics. I'm scared that it might turn me into a total douche with no friends.

Of course, I know people that already like me for the person I am and don't judge me for what I think about X topic. But imagine some of those friends are actually judgmental and starts ignoring all the other positive traits because apparently, said opinion overrides those positive traits. Wouldn't you be concerned if people like you for you and not solely because of opinion on X? I don't want to be known solely as the guy who has X opinion about Y and have everything else good about me be completely ignored.

And I will concede that I'm practically being ignorant of the issues, even though I'm probably not. I will acknowledge that what's happening right now is absolutely terrible. However, as much as I want to blame it on either the left or the right and even though I do have a target in mind, I don't want to be part of that blame game a lot of people have been doing. I just won't share it. Is it me worrying about who it will trigger? Yes. It may cause a massive shitstorm and the above issues I have with political talk will happen and I will be caught up in it. And besides, even if I did name the target, the reason is gonna be incredibly stupid anyway, which could result in those broken friendships anyway. And this is my unpopular opinion: while I do think the Left is a problem, I do not think they're the whole problem or even the cause of the whole problems in the first place. That sentence is the one that I'm betting on that this will be the sentence where I will lose friends and credibility, cause apparently, the Left is 100% wrong in every which way and if you agree with the Left in any shape or form, you're one of the left and therefore, the worst person on the planet. The same tends to go true for the right, but the reason I specifically highlight the Left is because I've known some genuinely nice people on the internet and IRL that are wrongfully lumped as a leftist. I don't know. I guess I'm not "woke" enough... that is how you use that term, right? I don't know, I'm politically stupid because I actively avoid it.

Now, I know people who are... well, good people and I'm a good person too. But lately, I feel as if being a good person has become slowly irrelevant and being an asshole to people is the way to come out on top, and to me, it all relates back to political talk. I could be imagining things, but it feels as though if you show any amount of compassion or empathy, you're a leftist. Okay, maybe that's a bit extreme, but trust me, there are people wrongfully put on either side when they just don't want to pick a side.

So I know what you're thinking: "Are you a sympathizer of *insert extreme group here*?" No. The extremes of both sides are dumb and should not be trusted, praised or even have any attention whatsoever, despite what some people tends to be doing. But people of those extremes have done terrible things to fellow humans, or are planning to do terrible things to fellow humans. Those type of people are not worth my time unless they prove that they genuinely no longer agree with their previous extreme views. If you've done something terrible to a fellow human and regret it, if you show genuine remorse, then we're cool and you're worth my time. Notice how I didn't name any specific organization, even though it is obvious as to which organization that I would most likely condemn the most. It shows that I don't care what side of the political spectrum you're on, terrible people are terrible people. But I still don't let political views be the end-all be all factor of if a person is worth my time.

The only thing I care about is how you are as a person, I'm not gonna abandon anyone based on political views. That's the equivalent of leaving a person trapped in a snowy mountain to freeze to death just because he doesn't agree with your opinion. That is why I avoid political talk at all costs, to avoid rifts caused by it.

Now watch, I probably created rifts anyway and will have no friends and will probably be blocked by some people. I don't blame you if you decide to block me. I'm just a stupid person who should never engage in political talk ever again, and I agree too.

Okay, I've got that out of my chest. I'm never gonna get all political again. We'll be back to fun stuff in a couple of days.

Furmiitopia

Okay, not the most original title, but I don't care.

So if you know my friend  silentselene, he put up a journal where he turned random furry characters into Miis and I have done the same thing for Tomodachi Life. Me, in particular, had so much fun with it and it exteded over a Mii RPG game for the 3DS titled Miitopia. If you haven't been a part of my Telegram Gaming Corner (Which you can click on right here if you want to join), I have been posting loads and loads of screenshots of the game based on what I find interesting.

And you also know that I'm thinking about getting back into writing. So I thought...

"What if I turn my playthrough of Miitopia into a story?"

Miitopia, in case you don't know, is a game where you cast Miis into different roles, whether it's the protagonist and party, the villains, the NPCs, etc. These Miis can range from your own characters, existing characters or real people and celebrities. I like to think that it's a fanfiction capable of writing itself and your imagination makes the experience. I'm almost nearing the end of the story, so I'm thinking of writing a story based on my playthrough. It won't be exactly the same, as the characters in my playthrough won't be exactly the same as their Mii counterparts due to how classes work in that game, but it's still gonna be a silly journey. Those in my gaming corner know who the roster of characters of mine is in my playthrough, but there will be more characters outside of those 12. And because of the nature of Miis, it's gonna be one crossover fic too because of the nature of Miitopia of casting people into random roles (to put it into perspective, the game generated a lovey dovey couple to be Mike Pence and Android 18). It's gonna get weird.

Because everyone else is doing it!

Well, Grey is practically my sona at this point as much as I insist that he isn't, but hey, minds change.

Hello people!

Today is what it says on the title! Today marks the 5th year I've been on FA! I'm shocked I'm still here, but being a furry is who I am and being here makes me feel more at home if I tend to come here every single minute even if the site goes down a lot.

This past year has been especially great for me because I've found myself to be more social than I have been before. Granted, there are still traces of being shy and stuff, but I became more willing to get myself out there, whether through my videos on YouTube or just talking to some of you here. This year has brought be to so many people that I would now call friends. You guys know who you are (the friends list in the header do not represent the full list of friends, there are so many of you awesome people out there, I have trouble listing them all, mostly because I don't know the limit to the amount of icons in the journal header). You people are awesome and the many reasons I look forward to coming here, or chatting away on Telegram or any other chat services. I'm still working on it. I'm probably doing it wrong, but I digress.

So what will I do going forward? Well, I'm thinking about getting back into writing. That story I wrote in a certain sexy piece involving two wolves was the first one I wrote in years and I noticed how much I sort of improved. I kinda want to do it some more cause my imagination knows no bounds and it just needs to fly free. I'm also trying to find ways to earn money so I can get more art cause I love entertaining people with many things, whether through writing, my videos or the art I commission.

And speaking of art, unfortunately, this anniversary will not have a raffle or an opportunity for free art. At least for now. There are so many possibilities as to when to get this raffle going. Today probably isn't that day. Maybe it'll be the day I reach a certain watch milestone (I'm almost at 300 watchers, so there's that). Maybe my birthday (which is more likely). But here's knowing that I will do a raffle or a contest at some point during the next 365 days. Cause I know how much people love my big wolf Grey, so I kinda want people to have art of him as well too. But that's just me.

So I'm curious about something. What do you guys think about certain characters of mine? I can tell that a lot of you like Grey as of recently, but I want to know what is it about him and my other characters that you like.

And I also wonder what you guys want to see more of... aside from the obvious, of course. XD

Because who knows, I might do some world building. That fantasy piece by  fcsimba showed that I can do that, even though it's Oliver and I apologize for those disappointed that it's not Grey. But maybe he'll have one too!

I totally forgot to post this journal yesterday.

So, in case you don't know, I have a YouTube Channel where I do Let's Plays. Yesterday was the first anniversary I uploaded my very first Let's Play of them all. And even though it's not furry related, it's still worth a look, as I reflect on the things I have done for my channel over the past year and plans moving forward.

So, as most of your probably don't know, I own a YouTube channel and do Let's Plays on it.

Next week on April 19th will mark the first anniversary that I uploaded the very first Let's Play on my channel and started Let's Playing. Even if you probably aren't interested in my channel or certain games I'm doing, I still reccommend watching the upcoming video that will be uploaded that week. This one will show off my personal growth that I have gone through in the last year as well as my goals moving forward in the world of Let's Playing. Sure, there probably be no references to furries, but it's a special video for me in general.

Do exaggerated faces? Like overly so?

I mean, I've seen pretty awesome telegram stickers and want to get some. But I kinda want some with exaggerated faces, like you would find in The Amazing World of Gumball. If you want a reference to how exaggerated and funny I'd like it, search up on Google "Gumball Funny Faces" and you will get a bit of an idea.

And you're probably wondering why I am even asking this in the first place.

The answer is...

I'm bored.

So my gallery is filled gratuitously with porn, that sometimes, I gotta take a break from it sometimes and when I don't feel like going for badass, fantasy or action stuff, I want to go with a slice of life comedy, to show how much my characters work well together and what goes on in their daily life. Also want to expand on my characters' personalities. Tyson might be a sexy wolf, but he is a huge idiot (to the point where people joke that he's an omega, even though he's actually around beta) and I want pics to portray it as such. (Also torn on Oliver being 100% shy and good mannered, or still shy and good mannered but knows when to throw in a few moments of sass)

Any artists come to mind to draw out the many funny scenarios that will go on in my head?

To put it into perspective on how I want the characters to bond.

Tyson: "Oliver, write this on my review of that terrible strip club! 'I entered this club an alpha, and left as an omega among wolves.'"
Oliver: "Tyson, you went in the club an omega."

I kinda want to make a lot of slice of life pics to take a break from the porn at times. Even though there will be sexual jokes.

I've seen many FA groups out there and Furs put these on their profiles to let people know what they like. I mean, based on my profile and the icons I put on there, you will instantly know that I'm Bi (I had a pun about this, but I don't wanna make people cringe again), I like Animal Crossing, I like Nintendo, you get it. These icons/groups certainly do a good job on showing people who you are without having to tell people about it.

So I kinda want to start a group as well, or at least create an icon. What is it?

Let's Play Furs! A group for furries who love watching Let's Play videos from the likes of Pewdiepie, Markiplier, Chuggaaconroy, MasaeAnela, Lucahjin, etc. (The last three, I really love, as these three have pretty much shaped who I am today, aside from you furs out there. But Chuggaa made me love games I never knew I would love until I watched his videos!) or are Let's Players themselves (like me! I'm a Let's Player!) We all love games, and watching people play games is a great way to be introduced to a variety of games. Something I strive to achieve if I want people to play more Tales, Klonoa, etc. So why not see if there are other furs out here in the FA space that love to watch LPs!

Also, and on a somewhat related note, remember that journal asking what kind of dog I would be? That would be the species for my channel mascot.

So yeah, someone should starts a Let's Play Furs group, and if not... I'll do it myself!

...Or, what to call people who specialize an element. I need to start world building, and the first thing to do is the powers!

So! As you can probably imagine, all of my characters have some sort of magical powers dealing with a single element or set of elements (i.e. Oliver does lightning, Madeline does Fire, Tyson does Wind, etc.) Of course, I want to give some terminology to it all, and after some research, I am struggling on what to call it.

First off, the suffixes. Which sounds cooler?
-mancy or -kinesis? Bender sounds kinda silly to me when going outside of the four elements (Lightbender? Darkbender?)

Here's what I definitely got and what it looks like with the suffixes
Pyro- (Fire) Pyromancy/Pyrokinesis
Aqua- (Water) Aquamancy/Aquakinesis
Aero- (Wind) Aeromancy/Aerokinesis
Electro- (Lightning) Electromancy/Electrokinesis (there was also fulgukinesis/fulgumancy, which technically is more correct if we're talking superpowers/magic but I stuck was electro- because it sounds intimidating)
Cryo- (Ice) Cryomancy/Cryokinesis
Photo- (Light) Photomancy/Photokinesis

Now for elements that I don't have a definitive name for. I know some don't sound official, but I came up with some of these because I think they sound cool.

Earth:
Terrakinesis/Terramancy vs. Geomancy/Geokinesis

Darkness:
Erebokinesis/Erobomancy vs. Umbrakinesis/Umbramancy

So yeah.

Just random worldbuilding stuffs!

Okay, so it's only been a month since I discovered The Amazing World of Gumball...

And it's totally changed my life.

Okay, maybe not changed my life, but I always feel very happy inside whenever I watch Gumball. It makes me forget all my troubles, and my happy-go-lucky attitude (which I'm sure there are some people who are annoyed by it, but I don't really care) already makes me a perfect match for this show! Sorry, I can't just help it!

I think I love Gumball too much.

Okay, so I'm kinda obsessed with The Amazing World of Gumball. It's a great show, despite the randomness, but I like random when handled correctly. One of the latest episodes The Weirdo, basically singlehandedly turned Sussie, a character that is a walking joke, into a character with depth, even if it seemed to be short lived. The accompanying song at the end, unofficially called "I am free" really spoke to me on a personal level and about Sussie's character. Basically, Sussie might be very weird, but by being herself, she is free. She doesn't give a shit about what people say about her, she's free, and that's all there is about it. When I think about it that way, the same thing should apply to life. Does that mean that you completely throw away what people think of you to better your life? Maybe? I don't know. But the main point is to let you be you, regardless of what other people think, because it feels liberating when you're allowed to be yourself. It's a simple concept that I feel is starting to feel lost to everyone, for obvious reasons that I will not mention. I know, it's important that we know what other people think of us depending on the situation. But outside of those situations, I just want to throw all that out and be free, and I wish people could do the same.

And that has been a journal from someone who... sees the world differently than everyone else.
