So I'm 23 now...
Posted 10 years agoHappy birthday to me!
Yep, it's pretty much midnight in places in the world, so it's December 2! Unless you live in the Pacific time zone like I do.
But yeah, it's my birthday, I'm 23 and I have a whole lotta things to do!
Oh, and a large backlog of games thanks to the Steam Autumn sale. As if don't have a backlog as is anyway.

Posted 10 years agoYep, as the title says, it's almost my birthday on December 2nd! I know I should have made this announcement later, but I wanna let people know early.
Yes, this cabbit loves to announce his birthday early because I don't know.
So yeah, my birthday, December 2nd, it's coming up.
And I made this journal because.

TMI Tuesday Just Because
Posted 10 years agoEven though I never get any turnout to these things and I'm bored, I figured I'd do this again even though the result might be the same as before.
So! Ask me anything related to me or my characters and I will answer them, depending on what it is!

TMI Tuesday stuffs
Posted 10 years agoYes, I'm doing it again. Because I'm needy for people to talk to me, or attention in general. Yes, it sounds like I'm being an attention whore, but at least I'm honest about it! If memory serves, the last few TMIs I did had zero turnout, which bummed me out. Hopefully, I have questions this time. I really need to talk to other people again.
So ask me stuff that's life related or character related. And of course, you can do Skype if we decide to get to the more personal stuffs.

Random Thoughts: Story Commisions and Me
Posted 10 years agoSo, I have a bit of a problem, and it's a personal problem. I know I have several, but one of them is my spending problem. It seems as if once I have the money, I try to buy things I like when the chance allows it. I know for some cases, waiting is not an option (especially because I have decided to be an Amiibo collector), but soon, it's going to be a problem to the point where I don't have enough money for food and stuff. It doesn't help that I don't have a job to amend that problem.
So I thought, story commissions! I'm not good at drawing so I thought, why not writing? I am taking a creative writing class so I guess I'm gonna try. Problem is, I don't think I'm that good, and the few stories I posted here really shows. I know those are years ago, but I'm not sure if I'm good enough to even be considered for a story commission. I could go the cheap route and make them like $1 so that if the quality is not up to par, at least it'll show by the price. I mean, it's only one dollar, it's not like it'll make a huge dent in your wallet at all. Thing is, I'm not confident in my abilities that will have a story worth a buck to pay for, or even a single penny worth of a story. Or maybe I have this hidden potential that I'm not just aware about.
So what do you guys think? Do you think I should do it?

Posted 10 years agoYes, I'm doing it again. Hopefully, I have questions this time. I really need to talk to other people again.
I would say why I'm doing this with the intent of talking to people again, but it'd be way too personal (though some of you I talked on Skype would figure out what I'm talking about).

Unpopular Opinion: My Thoughts on Krystal (Star Fox related)
Posted 10 years agoAh, Krystal. Among the furry community, she's that sexy fox that people wanna fuck (I might be exaggerating). Her character also seems to be a sensitive subject among the Star Fox fanbase. She has some sort of love her/hate her thing going on in the fandom from what I've observed.
So I had the pleasure of playing Star Fox Zero at PAX Prime on Saturday and it was very fun and I can't wait for the release on the holidays. It's basically a reboot of Star Fox 64 (the game that everyone seems to flock to when it comes to the best of the series and I can't blame them. It's that good), and one of the things that immediately comes to mind is the lack of Krystal, and surprise surprise, her absence is something to rejoice about among the fanbase. While I'm not gonna get into the fanbase's thoughts on Adventures, Assault and Command, what I am gonna get into is the matter of Krystal, and here is my unpopular opinion.
I actually think Krystal is a very interesting character. I actually love her for her character, not for her sex appeal.
There you go guys, I love Krystal as a character. Come at me, bros.
In all of seriousness, I think Krystal gets crapped on way too much on the fanbase.
To give a bit of a context of where I'm coming from, I confess that my first Star Fox game I've played from start to finish was Star Fox Adventures. That's right, I had a N64, but I, as a 7 year old gamer at the time who primarily played Mario and Pokemon, didn't even think to play Star Fox 64 until I played Super Smash Bros 64. I eventually did manage to play 64 when it came out on the Wii Virtual Console years later. But anyway, my first full on exposure to Star Fox outside of Smash was Adventures. The game was pretty fun and this was before I even got into Zelda. So because I started my journey with Star Fox with Adventures, I had some weird likes and dislikes about the franchise (to horrify you further, I actually liked Slippy). Anyway, upon first meeting Krystal, the 10 year old in me wanted to get to know her (for those curious, I wasn't enamored by her skimpy outfit because even at 10, I knew it had to be a tribal thing, so I thought it was normal). Of course, I couldn't properly get to know her due to the fact that she remains trapped in the crystal (no pun intended) for 90% of the game. But one thing that always got to me was Fox's totally obvious crush on Krystal, and I actually shipped it (the 10 year old me didn't get the concept of yaoi at all). I was a bit sad when that went undeveloped when I finished... then Star Fox Assault happened and I rejoiced because I got to see Krystal again and enjoyed a bit of her interactions with the rest of the Star Fox team as I played through Assault (which I had a pretty fun time playing, but keep in mind I have never played 64 until like 2008). Command is really what solidified my liking for Krystal. I don't know why I thought this now, but I liked the drama behind Krystal's decision to join Star Wolf because it also made me feel for Fox as well, as he felt a lot more human than I saw with the other Star Fox games I played. Command's storyline to me was a wild ride for me because I wanted to see the possible roads Fox and Krystal's relationship could go from there.
Unfortunately, if Zero was anything to go by, it looks like Krystal is gonna be long forgotten, which is sad for me because I actually liked her character and her role as Star Fox's heart of the group. I will always ship Fox and Krystal (though now I love FoxxWolf more now, if that helps, but that "Die for My Ship" attitude with Krystal is just plain dumb to me) because of my experience with Command's story. Yes, now that I'm older, I now can see why people think Krystal is a cliche, but at the time, I was engaged in Krystal as a character and my liking for her still stands today. She might be a sex icon to the furry community, but to me, she is more than that. She was actually a female video game character I admired growing up, one I was heavily invested in as I played more Star Fox games, which in turn, made me more invested in Fox as a character as well. Maybe it's just me fanboying and nostalgia-ing (for lack of a better word), but I actually found Krystal's character endearing and her struggles with her life and her relationship with Fox an engaging ride to go through (especially Command). I guess I can say that she's the reason I get heavily invested in the characterization in games in general, even ones everyone seems to hate. In fact, she's pretty much one of my top 5 characters to win the Smash Ballot for Smash Wii U/3DS (for those curious, I nominated Melia from Xenoblade Chronicles).
If it helps, at least Krystal's character is better than Samus's portrayal in Other M.
So yeah, that's my unpopular thoughts on Krystal. I know it could have been better at explaining, my case absolutely sucks and I might be yelled at, but I don't care.

Furry Going to PAX Prime!
Posted 10 years agoI know that some of my watchers probably won't care, but...
I'm going to PAX Prime tomorrow!
Yes, I enjoy gaming, so what better way to celebrate my passion is to go to a sweet convention!
So if you guys are at the Seattle, I'll be there on Saturday (which is tomorrow!).
See you guys there!

My FA anniversary!
Posted 10 years agoI completely forgot that 3 days ago was the day I first joined FA!
Yay! I would like to say that this site means a lot to me, as well as the friends I have made in this site!
So, with my third year in FA out of the way, here's the obligatory question of:
What would you like to see more in my gallery?
I can probably tell what that might be, but I'll leave it to you to have a say in that.

Unpopular Opinion: The SCOTUS Decision
Posted 10 years agoI hope I spelled that right...
Hey guys, it's me Double Dee, and I just have to give an unpopular opinion about the whole SCOTUS Decision. Funny this happens just days after Nintendo of America confirmed that Fire Emblem Fates will have exactly two same sex relationship options (granted it's with your Avatar and one character of each gender, so one gay option and one lesbian option, and they're on different sides but it's a start). In fact, if the new gay relationships in Fates can optimize my units, then I'm going for it! But I'm going off topic, my opinion on the matter of Fire Emblem Fates having this option is gonna be saved for another time. Let's get back to SCOTUS.
Yes, it's awesome that the LGBT community can now get married anywhere in the US and have the same rights as married straight couples and do so at the comfort at the state they're living in (because it was legal in only 37 states) I get that. I'm happy for them. I'm still cheering on the inside.
However, this is where the unpopular opinion comes in. While people are excited, they shouldn't get too excited for long. Or too much. Yes, it is a victory for the LGBT community on the marriage front because now they can get married without all the complicated travel to a state that allows it, but there's still gonna be hate. Bigoted people are idiots, that much is clear. But they are cockroaches as well, as in they never give up on spreading their hate (I'm looking at you church that should never be named). In fact, I fear the hate is going to grow even more, and it'll even extend to people who have no problem with it, which sucks because kids of today are way smarter and more tolerant that the bigoted adults, so expect to see some stores about how schools are brainwashing kids to be tolerant. Hell, there are some people who think Obama is actually gay and Michelle Obama is actually a transsexual man that got a sex change after the two daughters were born or are adopted (which for whatever reason, I find funny, but I'm not normal).
So I guess what I'm trying to say is that be happy that gays have the rights as straight married couples and we don't have this divide anymore. However, just don't let your guard down because the hate against the LGBT still exists, and will never stop because bigots are idiots. It'll be likely that hate crimes against gays might increase, or decrease. Who knows what can happen next now that gays can get married in any state in the US? In the eternal words of Shulk from Xenoblade Chronicles: "The future is ours to decide."
In fact, if any of your are Super Smash Bros. fans of any capacity, you might have seen this infamous fanfiction called Supper Smash Bros Mishonh From God. (Here). The fanfic in question is extremely homophobic and racist, but mostly the former. It will tear your hair out based on how hateful a single author can be... at least until you realize it's a troll fic (It's been confirmed by the author back in January). With the confirmation that the fic is a troll fic, I'm glad Supper Smash Bros Mishonh From God is written because it shows how idiotic bigoted people can be and I bet the author was hoping she could illustrate the same thing by writing it as if she is a bigoted person (and she did a good job). If the fanfic itself was any indication on how hateful one person can be, I would advise not to get overly excited about the legalization of Gay Marriage all over the US. You can get excited, just don't try to get too excited because it might set someone off, which can result in huge tragedies in the future.
...I might not make any sense whatsoever.

Random Journal: It's Summer and It's Hot!
Posted 10 years agoTo get that other journal out of the way...
Summer means it's hot! Even at nights, which is why I have a fan going on right now, because air conditioners do wonders.
Yes, I'm trying to keep cool, and yet, right now, the only thing I care about is the following question that I thought of...
Where are all the furries going around in their underwear, or naked, or both, I don't care. It'll soon be hot to even have clothes on, so people stripping down is gonna be inevitable.
...Yes, hot weather is going to drive me craze.

Random Journal: Is Oliver My Fursona?
Posted 10 years agoSo I'm gonna let this out there. While I am sure that most of you watched me for Tyson (and maybe Marshal, but Tyson is pretty much the one of the main attractions and basically why you're here watching me), I have to say that Tyson is NOT my FurSona. Yeah, he's my most popular character, but he's not my fursona.
I've told some of my friends that Oliver (this adorable guy here) is my main character. Off topic, but yes, I am aware he is a Klonoa recolor, but I made him during my first days as a furry and he didn't seem to click as any other species, so a cabbit he is (Fun Fact: He was originally named Cody). But enough of that.
For those that I have showed Oliver to (to my knowledge), I always say somewhere along the lines of this: Oliver is and isn't my fursona.
Yes, you heard right. Oliver is my fursona and at the same time, his own character. This sounds confusing, I know, but it makes sense when you know me enough. Or not. Depending on how I explain it.
Oliver's personality and appearance is mostly derived from me. I love wearing striped polo-shirts and glasses, I'm a bit shy around people, and if I have a crush, you bet your sweet bippy that I'm gonna obsess over it. Those are some of the qualities of Oliver that makes him my fursona.
So what makes him not? Well, he's skinny, and IRL, I'm a bit on the chubby side. His build has nothing to do what what I want to be. In fact, he's neither what I want to be and what I actually am. In fact, when I created him, I had no intention to make Oliver my fursona, but cabbits just stuck to me as my species of choice when it came to making a fursona. So with Oliver the main character of the universe of my characters, I decided to also make him partially my fursona by giving him qualities similar to me. Within the universe, he's unlike me.
Still confused?
This has been a random journal from Double Dee. Thank you for reading me ramble about things you probably don't care about.
TMI Tuesday will go up a couple of hours or so.

Anyway, good day my watchers! I now have Skype, so now you have more ways to talk to me and stuff! Just be warned that my activity on such instant messaging media can be here and there and I might not be on much. Or that I'll poke you because I'm bored and I wanna talk to you. Either one!
My Skype user name is the same as everywhere on the internet! DoubleDeeEddBoy's the name!

And in case you're wondering about the adoption auctions I have been following two weeks ago, no I did not win, which means no secondary sexy otter for me (though it wasn't a total loss. Yes, I'm trying to keep it vague and I fail at it).

Anatidaephobia - The irrational fear that one is being watched by a duck.
So... who among my watchers has a duck character? Because if you do, I'm not sure if I should be scared of your duck character now.
This has been a random journal from Double Dee.
...Expect a TMI Tuesday journal soon.

Random Thoughts: Morenatsu Fandub
Posted 10 years agoSo recently, I have been watchin way too many fandubs of visual novels, and I have been watching this Youtube channel for the past five months.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCj.....UIJUb9pXVb81Ew
When I saw their Dangan Ronpa dub, I thought that it was better than the official dub because it deviated from the voices I expected for a good dub. then I checked out their other videos and thought their stuff was top notch (check out their Dual Destinies fandub, you'll love the work done on Florent L'Belle).
It got me thinking. I searched on Youtube for Morenatsu fan dubs and I'm not surprised that my searches turned out for naught. Sad too, because I just played some Morenatsu for a few minutes (replayed Kouya's route because reasons) and started imagining what these characters could sound like. It almost makes me want to start a group to fandub the game, even though I don't know who would do what and I'm not talented enough to do it myself. Welp, looks like it's all up to imagination land.
Just a random thought coming from the mind of Double Dee.
...I got bored.

TMI Tuesday because Why The Firetruck Not?
Posted 10 years agoYep, it's Tuesday according to the server, and it's a long time since I've done this!
So ask me anything and stuff, whether it's my life or character related.
So... do it?

reddragonroar!Wanna Split Commissions At Some Point?
Posted 11 years agoYeah, I'm planning to reach out to other artists this year. Occaisionally, I'll go with my usual artists, but I plan to go other places!
That said, this journal is basically a place to talk about ideas should we want to split a commission! Don't worry friends who like random surprises from me, going as far as including your characters with mine, the random surprise will still go on as usual.
So yeah, let's split a commission some time!
