But I realized I really need to fix my work-life balance, otherwise I'm going to lose my marbles. Art is part of that therapy.

(TLDR crappy math teachers who are lazy are the bane of my existence. What is it with Calc 2 that this happens so frequently?!)

Debating whether or not to open commissions lately. I really don't have the time/energy for them, but I do miss drawing. I haven't done much of anything for myself lately aside from schoolwork and it's really wearing on me.

Maybe a new, small type of commission? But, problem is what kind??

Been seeing a lot of pixel type stuff, maybe I could start developing a new style for that? (Nevermind that I've been drowning myself in a lotta minecraft lately.)

Don't know. Just something small that I could churn out fast and put at a slightly lower price point. I'll have to keep thinking some more.

As far as the school front is going, at the moment I'm heavily considering swapping majors to engineering, as that was initially what I wanted to do before the math requirement scared me off. That was before I learned I'm decent at math. If I follow this idea of mine, I'm going to finish my transfer plan and go in as a CS major, then swap. The money is really a bother right now, and I don't know how I'm going to do it. Well, in a way that minimizes debt. Ain't never taken a loan out in my life and I sure as hell don't want to. But if I have better job prospects with this then I'd be less worried.

Still a lot of planning and consideration to do. It's not a hard set plan right now but a very likely one. I don't know how anyone expects 18 year olds to be strategic about college, I should earn a degree for this bit of it alone.

Turns out that my major is shoving all the kids to a remote and dangerous satellite campus downtown, where all the tech stuff will be located from now on. It's a royal pain to get to because I live on the far edges of town practically, and downtown traffic well... need I say more? It also wasn't what I wanted my university experience to be like. I want to be on the main campus with everyone else, not sequestered off to some warehouse near the courthouse.

I... likely won't be staying a Computer Science major. But, as for what I'll switch to...? I don't know right now.

I'm just kind of crushed.

Woo my first math test tomorrow and I am -not- feeling good about it.

So far I've never had to ask a teacher so much to explain how it is they do things. Maybe we just aren't clicking or what, I don't know. Not that he's been mean but I got used to doing things one way is all. He's a minimal-homework kind of teacher, or rather he's experimenting with that right now and a lot of other methods, so we're kind of the guinea pig class, something I don't exactly appreciate.

It was too late to drop though by the time he explained all this to me, so I'm just gonna have to put in even -more- work and study extra hard. Just kind of sucks when I have a full load already, but that's life isn't it.

I don't expect to do well tomorrow, so that way I don't set my expectations too high. Calc 2 has been.... well. Golly. It's sure been a thing. And this is only the beginning. Combined with his teaching style that doesn't fit my learning style? It's going to be rough. I can probably kiss that 4.0 GPA goodbye, and I'm really sad about that.

Whatever though, I just gotta get through this doozy T_T.

We are almost 2 weeks into the school semester... boy am I tired. This schedule is really insane and I've got huge things due every single week. You'd think core classes would chill a little bit, but some act like they're the most important thing.

Like... why do I need to focus on so much literary analysis as a STEM major T_T ... Oh well. Gotta just get through them!

That being said I'm not sure how commissions is going to go. I might still open them this coming month but they're going to be extremely slow and limited in slot numbers which does worry me. Not sure yet, but I'll make a post when I come to a decision. Just trying to keep my head above water right now.

Anyway it's already February 2025! That's gross!! Pretty soon it'll be December all over again.

I got admitted into university for Spring 2026 :D it's a way's off but I'm very excited, and nervous. Never been to one before! I'm a late bloomer so it won't be the same as being 18 but, hey I count that as a positive haha.

What a year 2024's been.

Just a small update, I currently have 3 commissions in line, one of them is in the coloring stage, the other two I haven't started on. After that my board will be clear.

But I'm not sure when I'll reopen again. Possibly when I'm already adjusted to my school schedule so perhaps February? Don't know yet! As I get deeper and deeper into college, I'll probably be more selective about when I open up, but I will try my best to be available for most of the year.

Time management is certainly a -skill- haha.

But, we made it folks! The end of 2024! And what a year it's been, for better or worse. Here's to 2025 being a little better, somehow!

For now I need to work on everything I've got left.

I did amazing on my math final and my astronomy final. Computer one still needs to be graded, I don't think I did so well on that one but the teacher's also a harsh grader.. Still, I had a super high percentage in the class anyway so even if I score bad on that, I'll still pass. Tried my best with that one but it's hard when you're so burned out already from the rest of the semester.

Anyway, today is the first day of winter break! I got commissions that need tending to, currently 5 slots are taken but I wanted to update everyone here as well:

We're finally in our last full week before finals begins and my god I am so tired. I've not been in the mood to do any homework lately but I've been soldiering on through. Just feel so sleepy and want to do nothing but play games and work on my commissions :( Alas, one more week... then I'm freee until late January

Well it's sure Wednesday everybody. We tried.

But the world don't stop turning and boy is the homework piling up. I sure can't wait for winter break x~x.

On a happier note I got some commissions I'm working on right now for people and I'll be very excited to post those!

Passed my math test! A 92% this time, a lil low but an A's an A as they say!

Was out pricing laptops today because I'll need one for university but wowowowow stuff is just expensive haha. Damn... I'll have to bite the bullet eventually.

I was one of the very lucky ones to get let go at 10:30am, and boy just being there for a couple hours wiped me out hardcore...

And students -aren't- exempt?! Sheesh! How the hell would anybody expect someone to be able to just go home and do their studies at night?! Insanity!

Then again me burning out super fast cuz of the autism doesn't help matters.

Golly, wish me luck on that math test I had to postpone till Saturday.

I got jury summons... right when a ton of my mid-terms are due. And I'm mad.

We are arriving onto week 5 out of 16 for the semester! I feel like it took me this long to warm up to the workload, now I'm far ahead and have time to work on commissions and defuse with some games haha.

Had my first calculus test this past Wednesday, another 100% for the pile :3, ... hopefully the others are as straight forward as that. I was surprised at how fast I was able to whip out answers, but we're also just at the beginning haha. We'll see!

Got my Honor society certif in the mail and the little tassel and pin as well so I'm happy about that. Not much going on though aside from doing homework all day long and trying to touch grass so I don't get cabin fever. Debating on starting some small side projects, maybe try to learn to make games or something, because programming... oo boy.

I'm doing well in it still but I don't feel like I have the practice/time for the concepts to really sink in. The book is dry as hell and I don't like it, so I tried getting another textbook just to have an alternative reference, but I'm starting to come to the conclusion I need to make this like...engaging for myself somehow. The problem is I'm not an ideas-guy so deciding WHAT to make is really what's stopping me. And so the old tales go. But I'll figure something out. I'm trying not to burn out on work but it's really all I want to do most afternoons, which isn't great. Workaholic.

But that's neither here nor there! Anyway! Working on another great comm at the moment >:3 can't wait to see the finished result~

Been away for about two weeks because school just started, and oh man has it been a ride.

Lots to do, and I feel anxious about getting everything completed in a timely manner. But so far things are good!

I'm trying to spend as much time as I can with my computer class and I'm ahead of schedule with that one. It'll catch up quickly though so I gotta remain diligent about it. It's not easy this stuff. I dare say it's like learning another language and I've been a bit stressed about it. My mind is used to being an artist, not a STEM major. But I hope in time I'll start getting a hold of this learning curve well enough.

Beyond that it's also a lot of time management on my part. I hate that I must pick and choose what I focus on, but if I have to pay less attention to my GE's like history and science and things that don't matter as much as math and programming, then so be it.

Weather's still gross, can't wait for things to start cooling down. I hope that's soon!

So glad to be back! Great job to the FA team for sorting this stuff out, seriously! I don't think I realized just how much I visit this place, and to suddenly not have it was very sad...

But, yeah!

School starts on Monday... So it's fast approaching! Excited and nervous, but let's get that bread.

Commissions will still remain open but they will take me a fair bit longer to complete due to me having to figure out what schedule will work for me in terms of balancing homework and artwork. I don't foresee there being any issues though!

Can't believe summer's gone by so quick... then again I had a whole month of summer school so I really only got 2 months instead of three. Lame. But, oh well, the show must go on! It's kind of boring actually when I'm not up to my eyeballs in work. Not that I haven't had work, I've had lots of commissions to do this summer and I'm super happy about that! Gonna need to make up my schedule so I can continue doing them during the school semester.

After how rigorous that summer math class was, I hope that the regular semester will be a lot more chill. Definitely gonna be slower paced to where I don't have to rush through everything like crazy at least.

Anyway that'll be fun. I'm taking Calculus 1, History 2, Programming 2 and an Astronomy class :) the last one sounded super fun and I needed one more science class to finish my requirements. I originally wanted to go for Physics to try that out, but I usually like to do two difficult classes and two easy classes when I set up my schedule. Need things to balance out. Maybe I'll take a class one day or study on my own if I ever find the time.

Finally have all my fall and spring classes sorted out for the coming school year, so that's a load off the mind. I might have to start reviewing my math next month though... I feel like I've forgotten everything already haha. Kind of scared of stepping into calculus for the first time in fall, I always thought that level of math was so far away, but, here I am! Thankfully this time it's a full semester course, not a breakneck summer one. So that should be theoretically much easier to handle than doing rigorous math homework every single day.

Elsewise... I'm glad to be doing nothing this summer. The heat is killer! And I'm happy to stay indoors and futz around online or draw xD.
