Wizard World Chicago
Posted 15 years agoFirst Convention I've been to as a seller.
Sadly it was not the best experience ever.
I did not go in expecting to sell a ton of stuff. I really just wanted to go and promote my book and what not. I did manage to sell a few things which was good. But the Con itself was a huge disappointment. There was no Marvel, DC, Darkhorse....in fact there were no big vendors at all. The only thing they had were a ton of guest which main were composed of Star Trek stars and playboy models -_-. They weren't even guest who held Q&As or anything just charges lots of money for a signature or events in which they made an appearance. And seriously what does Rod Blagojevich have to do with comics or anything at all related.
The convention was badly organized and no one there new anything, and all the web information they gave before hand was wrong or from the previous year. The costume contest was shoved in a tiny tiny room across the street from the Con and the people with bigger costumes could not even fit in the door. I got a bit claustrophobic and left with my party. And while walking around in costume my friend and I were called nerds....seriously at a convention filled with people cosplaying.....
Also no one knew who we were dressed up as either. I though the hat would be a giveaway with me but apparently not. (BTW my friend and I dressed up as a fancy Blackmage and Whitemage)
Anyways it wasn't the greatest Con to make my first, but I'm not discouraged yet. I will be more choosy with it maybe start smaller.
I did walk away with some fun stuff. But all and all it sucked.
I may be at Flatcon this year...friend is trying to get me to do it.

Posted 16 years agoCommission Taken!!!!
Commission went to
Gatekat
YAY!
If your sad that it has been taken I will be having another free commission on my DA page www.dracokitty.deviantart.com
Please note: do not send me an email for that until i post that i will takign the commission. I will not read any emails for it before I post.
Free Commission
I will be excepting one free commission as a type of promo.
In the next few weeks I will I will be taking a one day a week break from my job to work on art work and hopefully open myself up to commissions. So as a test run I will be doing one free commission. It will be a full rendered Illustration. I will only accept a request for an original concept or character. No fan art.
I will not be able to begin work on the piece for two weeks, this is due to many things going on in my life right now and that I will still be full time at work until then.
Once a person is chosen I will discuss media and size. I am primarily a traditional artist and work in mostly ink and water color, but if you want a digital painting I could do that to. If you choose a traditional painting I will mail you the painting. Your painting will then be posted on my FA and DA page when I begin to accept paid commissions.
So the way it will work is on a first come first serve basis. First person to email me will get the commission and I will do it as the email dates and times it. You will have to email me your name, FA page, and the details of your request (yes I require you to make a decision right away on what you want, and you will not be allowed to change it either. So only email me if you really know what you want)
As such I reserve the right to overlook any requests that are distasteful or appeal to a mature audience. So keep it PG! If you email me such a request I will merely overlook and go to the next person.
When I choose someone I will immediately post a new journal and erase this one.
Requirements:
Must be an original character
Must be live in the U.S. if you want your picture mailed to you, If not you must pay shipping.
Request must be PG no mature work
So if you’re interested please email me at Lunartears(AT)gmail.com
Thank you and good luck
NOTE: ON traditional paintings there is a size constraint as I could only work within certain sizes.
