PC upgrades
Posted 11 years agoIt feels good to every once and a while upgrade your PC with some new parts does it not??
I remember when I bought my current PC all nice and black from HP. Came with a keyboard and mouse Tossed those didn't need them had a new Microsoft Natural 4000 with a Logitech wireless mouse all nice and new as well. Before I even turned it on for the first time the power supply that came with it went bye-bye along with the memory was changed out and a nice little video card was installed at the same time it was a Zotac GTX 550TI AMP Edition with 1gb memory woohoo. Course am not a heavy gamer but it was still nice than the onboard crap. Once that was done the PC was turned on for the first time it is a very nice PC that has worked with out issues since then.
Now it was showing its age 4 years later was bought in 2010. Just installed a new 128 SSD drive with the 1TB drive it came with as second running a nice new Fresh Copy of Windows 7 Premium. Removed the 430 watt Thermal take that I bought when new replaced with a EVGA 600B Watt power supply. Removed the Zotac GTX 550TI and replaced it with a MSI GTX 750TI OC Edition with 2GB Memory. For some these are not big Changes and I know people have Better bigger systems then this but for what I do its the perfect upgrade and brings a little happiness in to my world knowing of the nice shiny new parts that are installed and working.

Animal suffers three fractured legs and recovery is hopeful; driver thought he had hit something while driving to work but didn’t know it was wedged in the grill

A train conductor on his way to work arrived at the Waukegan, Illinois, train station employee parking lot with a number of people staring at the front of his SUV. What they saw defied logic. A coyote was stuck in the bumper, and it was still alive.
Mark Armour, the driver of the SUV, was as surprised as his co-workers, who first thought the animal was a fox.
Armour immediately called the police and an animal control officer was sent to the scene.

“He said he thought he hit something, he could feel it, but he didn’t see anything,” animal control officer Amber Manley told the Lake County News-Sun.
Manley knew right away it wasn’t a fox but a coyote, and was amazed it fit perfectly into the tight space.
“It was even more amazing he survived,” she told Lake County News-Sun.
Manley used safety equipment to prevent getting bitten as she extracted the animal from the bumper. The coyote was docile and apparently in shock.
Manley transported the coyote to Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation where it was determined the animal had three fractured legs. The fractures were set and the coyote was given antibiotics.
The next day the coyote was alert and eating. Officials are hoping the coyote makes a full recovery and can be returned into the wild in the spring.
“I was the driver!” Armour wrote on the Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation Facebook page. “I am so glad ‘Vern’ will recover. I will be putting the shoulder to my coworkers, to raise some funding to donate to Vern’s recovery. Thank you so much for taking care of him.”
Vern is no doubt appreciative.

World's tallest dog from Otsego dies at age 5
Posted 11 years agohttp://news.yahoo.com/worlds-talles.....235357677.html
OTSEGO, Mich. (AP) — The Great Dane from Michigan that held the title of world's tallest dog has died at age 5.
Owner Kevin Doorlag told the Kalamazoo Gazette that Zeus made his debut in the 2012 edition of Guinness World Records as the tallest living dog. Zeus was 44 inches tall at the shoulder and 7 feet, 4 inches on his hind legs.
Zeus weighed 165 pounds and ate a 30-pound bag of food every two weeks, the Battle Creek Enquirer reported.
Doorlag, of Otsego, said the entire family will miss Zeus.
Zeus was a local celebrity in the Kalamazoo area and frequently visited local schools and hospitals as a therapy dog. Doorlag said he will also miss seeing the joy Zeus brought to other people.
"Those are some of the things I'll never forget about him," Doorlag said. "He was definitely a great dog."
Zeus died last week from old age, just two months shy of his sixth birthday, according to Doorlag.
