Doomsday Dragon
General | Posted 13 years agoAs we all know the end of the world is soon as doomsday will happen on the 21st of December 2012 but there is no need to fear.
I have foreseen this seen this event coming and for the past years I have been putting a lot of time and resources into preventing this catastrophe. If you are to wake up the very next day then you will have me to thank for saving the world.
If my plan works and the world is saved I want a substantial reward, I am not greedy, only 10 million pounds, a fair price for preventing existence from disappearing.

Monster Battle Art Dragon
General | Posted 13 years agoI have been browsing the macro art section as I do most mornings and I see a lot of great illustrations coming out there. They involving many themes from gentle giants being close to those smaller, there are rampaging giants stomping around the city. Some illustrations are as simple as striking a pose to the camera as they take up the landscape or even become part of it. Even with all this verity I have noticed one distinct thing lacking in macro illustrations.
Where are the macro monster battles? I would love to see some giants battling it out and the world shaking in their struggle. Bring in the Godzilla vs. Mothra, Megagirasu, Mechagodzilla and more or even have your own characters.
Now some of you might be thinking "Draconder, you're an artist, why don't you do it you lazy bum." and my answer is I am in the process of making one and who knows, depending how I feel I might make it a common theme.

Work Dragon
General | Posted 13 years agoLately I have found my days whisked away from under my talons as my free time is now reserved for work. I have found full time employment working at the NHS (National Health Service) dealing with patient contact. It feels nice to be financially secure and to see my wonderful hoard growing again. I find I have less times in the evenings and my energy zapped but I still have some commitments in forms of art trades.

Eurofurence 2012 Charity Auction
General | Posted 13 years agoHello everyone
I am gong to be submitting a series of illustrations for the Eurofurence charity auction this year and I am posting this to drum up some advertising. All the money will be going straight to the charity and I intend not a penny to me.
Here are the five images that will be sold as a set:
Rhino
Cheetah
Crocodile
Wolf
Tiger
The images will be high quality prints and framed so they will be more detailed than what you see in the examples. I hope some of you might be interested and maybe see you there!

My Thought on the latest Assasins Creed 3 Trailer
General | Posted 13 years agoBelow is the latest trailer for the new Assassins Creed game that is coming. I have never played the series but the original concept was interesting. I liked how the developers avoided the easy way of using World War 2 or Feudal Japan and use settings not normally used.
This game for those who don't know is set during the American War of Independence and the trailers are creating a lot of flak as some are saying Ubisoft are 'unbiased' when always showing the British as the 'bad-guys'. I don't care about that, I love my history and I feel what happened has happened.
So what's my problem with the trailer?
In the trailer is shows various English colonist proclaiming why they are fighting for independence. All of them are noble except for one, the child who says:
"When I refuse to learn the history of a country I'll never see."
I am sorry but that is ignorance at its worse. To learn another country's history is to understand their culture and where they come from and to refuse that is to create an dangerous precedence. What is more there was only 168 years of history since Jamestown was first colonised in 1607 so there is not much history of their own colonies to fill an entire tuition.
As someone who love's history and admires all countries culture and past, to shun any form of education and understanding unnerves me.

Commission Update
General | Posted 13 years agoI am making some progress on the commission for silverclaw . It is in the middle of colouring where I need to work on the background. At the moment I am happy how it is coming out and I am hopeful I can break my habit of having to give refunds.
Currently I am not accepting any more commissions. I am going to stick to giving random gift pictures and such until I am confident in my own motivation to be reliable enough. Even when I do start doing commissions again I will most likely be doing a single page one or two at a time. When this happens I will let you critters know.

The Ranting against Bioware's New Game.
General | Posted 14 years agoI find it hilarious people saying the game is rubbish, the 0 out of 5 star reviews and such. I know the game didn't live up to the sheer hype it built but the bar was already raised incredibly high. Yes, I know the endings could have been better but I am going to wait and see for myself as I am only on Mass Effect 2.
Just going to play devil's advocate right now. When you have a trilogy where you have multiple choices that branch out into the next game, the game's company is going to have to work almost 8 times as hard to make each ending truly unique. Lets say, two outcomes on ME1, that potentially branches with four outcomes on ME2 leaving people to feel that should be 8 outcomes in ME3. People are asking a lot there and when people talk about getting the "perfect ending", I think they are playing the game wrong as it is about living up with your decisions.
Calgor is playing the third instalment right now. He says there are flaws but he really likes how his choices have effected the final game, some for the worse which he initially thought was doing the right thing. Those different choices now have created the anti-spoiler where you talk to others about the game and see what happened if you decided not to do something, it creates good conversation. Now that I have to give credit to Bioware.

Keihound Auction Fund! (Finished!)
General | Posted 14 years agoGood morning ladies and gentlemen
A month ago
Keihound was having some problems from medical expenses and I offered to make a small donation but I feel that this isn't simply enough. Considering the amount expenses in America can come to I have decided to run my own charity auction to help her out. Now this will be a complete surprise to her because I haven't fully ran this by her but I feel this is the right thing to do.
So what am I offering on the table for this. I will be providing a full picture in A3 coloured in Photoshop CS2 (example). Now if the bids go over $200 I will offer something extra. There are a few limits of what I will draw.
I will not draw:
Scat & Water-sports
Babyfur
Copy written characters e.g. Micky Mouse, Pokemon, MLP etc.
The bidding will start at $20 and the minimum you can bid is $10.
Please try and keep all bids in one thread of comments and any other conversations I will hide to make it easy and clear to see what is happening, any queries please feel free to note me. All the payments will be going through paypal which will be provided later to the winning bid.
The bidding has finished with SilverClaw making the winning bid at $60!
Thank you kindly and lets give someone a pleasant surprise!

Just a Quick Update and EF
General | Posted 14 years agoI don't update this journal nearly enough. With Muzz's Auction having ended over a month ago with good results it wouldn't be professional of me to mark its end.
Calgor and I enjoyed EuroFurence so much last year that we are going to go again this year. We had to splash a little extra because they ran out of rooms but we will be staying right till Monday. I will be bringing my sketchbooks since drawing with friends was incredibly fun. I look forward to meeting all you crazy furs over there.
What else is there for this giant ol' fat dragon. Well, I am moving house from Southampton to be with Calgor, we will be moving together in the middle of Kent to enjoy the wonderful countryside. I am looking forward to the move as Calgor and I have been together for over 5 years now. My mind is quite occupied with all this hence why I haven't been drawing as much while I am temporarily in limbo.
What else ... maybe lunch.

http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3097786/ The Popularity Game
General | Posted 14 years agoGood morning everybody and welcome back. This week gives rise to yet another explosive drama that seems to come in like a parade, a never ending repeating pattern of noise and banging drums. I frankly do not care what the banner has on it and no matter what you do everyone is insulted by everything.
So why am I writing this journal? Yesterday I saw someone explaining that they dislike the banner because it had a "popufur" on it ... *sigh*
Language is always changing with different cultures and subcultures especially with the use of the internet. I however dislike it when someone feels compelled to make words belong to the furry subculture by simply adding "fur" into the word. It started with Furend and now Popufur. It isn't clever and it will end up making the letters f.u.r. lose its context.
My real beef is that people out there in the furry subculture believe that it has to be a popularity contest. I want to let most of you know that life is not a school playground. It is natural for most people to want to be respected and well known but you have to remember that the people that are well known inside the fandom are so because they work hard on something that they are good at that doesn't have to be art or are simply active out there. I do not get why people feel they have a right to dislike someone purely on the basis that they are popular and those who do are ignorant to the fact that it takes time to build a reputation and you cannot come into something and expect recognition for just standing there.
When you are making an argument against someone's person and the only reason is "because they are popular" you might want to rethink yourself. I had no idea who this Secret chap was until this whole fiasco.

Troubled Dragon (updated)
General | Posted 14 years agoThese past two weeks I have been incredibly troubled regardless of what has been happening around me. I have had a wonderful weekend with my boyfriend where we went to Kelvedon Hatch nuclear bunker and then there was the wonderful commission piece Macroceli made for me and today I won a digital radio on a radio show. Last month finally have found work and have an income to support myself on.
I still feel troubled despite all these recent events mostly regarding to those I speak on-line to. I have been feeling very insecure about how I am to those I chat to as I feel like I am either annoying and/or upsetting them. I especially get this feeling when people do not reply to me and I admit I get a little paranoid and when that happens I tend to push harder which I worry is driving away those who I regard as good people.
Update
As I have predicted I immediately come to regret with what I have posted as I came to realisation that a lot of these issues are more my ignorance than anything. I have regarded instant messaging to be just that 'instant' just like a face to face conversation but what I really should be thinking them more like is texting. There are many things that chat doesn't have such as tone of voice and body language just like LordrinWildhad said. I want to say thank you for everyone who commented and my apologies to having made anyone become concerned.

Cup of Brown Joy
General | Posted 14 years agoSome of you might remember me in long ages past showing this video to you. It has been so long ago but the music video is just as good as it was back then. Many who know me know that I love a good cup of tea and will happily have five or more cups a day of the brown stuff and I want to spread that love with this little jaunt.

Live-Stream Announcement and a Wierd and Wonderfull Dream
General | Posted 14 years agoFirst I would like to announce that I will be doing a live-stream on this coming Saturday on the 8th of October. I will be finishing a long overdue picture for Real and Stalbon. There will be commentary and chatting.
Now for some embarrassing news. I will need your help as I have foolishly lost my list of commissioners that were going to be after Real and Stalbon so if you have already asked for a 50 pence commission then feel free to post it here in this journal. The limit of requests will be 5 for the time being on a first come first serve. You do not need to be at the stream but I must have a reference picture and a description of what you want.
I have noticed many furs, a few close friends of mine, made mention of how they dislike the way people announce their streams filling their in boxes with deleted content so I am going to attempt to make this a regular show. Information will be posted on my main profile of when and where to find it.
My Weird and Wonderful Dream
Last night I had a dream which I thought was very fun but strange at the same time. It involves one of my oldest friends Tombfyre too. I dreamt that I was browsing FA when I see a post from Tombfyre which was a 3d animation that was incredibly realistic. It showed a city with a massive Draconder sitting by a bridge talking casually to a woman in a red dress. I cannot remember what was said but I remember I am in the view of the human, my tongue slide and dwarfing her to tease and rub.
Then it goes to a television monitor showing various animals fattening up to huge sizes but it was not the size that got me, it was the sound of the swelling bodies. It was then my dream ended with my normal human self sitting in a theatre. It was strange but wonderful at the same time.

Birthday Dragon 22nd September
General | Posted 14 years agoThe past few years I have had various friends of mine tell me that I should tell them that my birthday is happening rather than let it slip by unnoticed and peaceful so here it is. On the 22nd of September I will be quarter of a century old where I have marked this planet.
I have various plans for what I will be doing, one is getting a good quality web-cam so that my future shows I will be able to sketch for you live on air. There will be plans for good lighting too so all I need to do is find a way to get good quality streaming video for you to enjoy.
So, that is it, my birthday, next week, enjoy!

General | Posted 14 years agoI honestly wasn't expecting so many comments for this and such great constructive criticism from all of you and for that I thank you. To sum up the major issue people have discussed I feel that I haven't been giving that much thought into how the belly, hips and waist would form with an overweight character. I took the opportunity to look up references of nude models to see where exactly I have got wrong. Here are examples of what I have found:
(warning, nude human pictures)

Reference 4
Naturally the human body comes in all shapes and sizes but as you can see there isn't as much of love handles as dramatic as I have drawn mine and you can see that there is still a line leading from the waist to the thigh.
What I had done before was looked at reference photos of slender nude models to get the anatomy right and then imagined what the fat would look like on it but what I need to do is actually look at larger people.
I want to thank PhealGud, D3vinSawhog, LordrinWild, Tanookicatoon, Stalbon, cetas and lizardprotector for their critique.

On the Female Form
General | Posted 14 years agoI understand that FurAffinity is not the best place to offer some critique so I am going to try my luck with a journal. One of my interests is drawing BBW furry characters be it Anna or anyone else's character but I am rarely happy with the final results. Maybe I do not feel that they are attractive. I understand how I draw my large, curvaceous females isn't exactly true to the real thing but those are the joys of fantasy. Below are some links to various sketches I have doodled in the past.
Growing Surprise, This is the latest picture to come with BBW, as much as I am happy with the results I still feel I can do better with my pencil work.
Elevator sketch, the latest rendition of the cobra cow.
(Warning Nudity) Anna on a chair, one of the few coloured works of her was one of the closest to work.
If there is some critique on my pencil work then that'll be a bonus
You do not need to be good at art to offer criticism and feel free to be as honest about it as I will not be offended. All I ask is that should be constructive for me to work on. Feel free to link examples too, photo and drawn and perhaps others may use this to improve themselves. Thank you kindly
On other news I will be soon starting up a regular livestream, I am currently preparing to buy a new, better quality webcam and lighting so I can do some real sketches for the show.
I look forward to hearing what you have all to say.

Presentation
General | Posted 14 years ago"Don't compare yourself to others." my tutor once told me when I was looking at my friend draw some wonderful art. It is a slippery path when you start thinking that and can be difficult to get out. Thankfully I managed to get out of that and focused on my own art and I feel better for what I draw and hopefully improve. I may not use my diploma for much in this world but those words do stick into my mind.
I cannot help but stop and look at some people's galleries here on FurAffinity and I have to say there are some that are presented better than others. Their work and style seems to be consistent such that they only have coloured pictures in their mane page or stick to a theme. I want to improve my presentation so that you guys will enjoy browsing my gallery even more. Now I would have had folders for coloured and pencil works but alas FurAffinity has not yet implemented such a useful management tool. I ask you guys to offer your thoughts on the table on how you feel my presentation can be improved.
Also my boyfriend, Calgor has been having a tough week with his work and I am visiting him but I think I can do more to make his day. Please go to his page and give him a big hug as he will appreciate it. Thank you all kindly.
Now... where is my tea.
