Further Confusion Dealers status - Denied
Posted 10 years agowelp got the decision back from fc this morning, i received 0/7 votes.
hurts to think that whoever was doing the selection didn't feel that what i offer was "good enough" for the dealers room this year, when it was good enough last year, i know the attendees certainly valued my wares, enough that i sold out of many items that i had purposely overstocked on so i would have leftovers for the next con.

well guess it's time to start planning for Confurgence instead!!

FWA, Car theft, Dallas, and more!
Posted 10 years agoSo myself and ino89777 are still making our way home after FWA, currently in Dallas with flurrycat who helped us get this far with my dealers stuff.
FWA-
First off, let me say i had a great time at the con and will definitely be coming back next year, having said that, let's recap events.
TO CLARIFY RIGHT AWAY
No fursuits were lost, None of my dealers stuff was lost, the main things that are gone belonged to ino89777 in the form of camera gear and tech. I have to say this because the rumor mill has been in overdrive since the initial stolen report was put out last thurs/fri
We arrived Thursday later than expected, original arrival was supposed to be Wed. Because of this we were counted as a no-show and our reservation was cancelled in the main hotel. We ended up getting a room in the Hilton, conveniently right across the sky bridge from main events. Dealers load in went smoothly, got everything unloaded and set up faster than usual. Proceeded to go out to dinner at hard rock cafe with ino89777 danji-isthmus @@monoyasha, 
sharpe19 
sagesilvermist and had a excellent pre-con meal before heading back to the hotel.
now here's where things go downhill...
Went to grab the last of the stuff from the car which was parked in a outdoor lot next to the hotel [couldn't park in any garage due to the height of our trailer] as i approached where the truck and trailer SHOULD have been, i was greeted instead with a empty space. Now this is the first time i have ever thought or said "I hope my car was towed". After calling every number posted on the pay station and getting transferred to 2 other impound/towing companies i finally talked to the company responsible for patrolling/enforcing/booting the lot. According to them they do not call for a tow unless the vehicle has been booted for at least 48 hours.
I immediately called 911 and reported the vehicle stolen
An officer was dispatched to the site, as i waited in the lot flurrycat and sharpe19 appeared and waited with me. Had a run in with someone who was acting super shady and seemed to know a biiit too much about what happened just before the police arrived. The officer took down my statement along with vehicle description and info, also informed him about the shady guy.
At this point I had already called my dad [it's his truck since mine has a hard time pulling the large trailer] and filled him in on what i knew, luckily he has full coverage insurance on both the truck and trailer so although he wasn't happy that it happened, he wasn't super pissed either [the truck had almost 150k miles on it and had some..issues...]
After that incident we tried to get some sleep [was about 5am at this point and i had to be up for dealers at 8am x_x] before the madness of the con began. Friday kicked off in the usual way of cons for us, the horde flooding the dealers room, whirlwind of activity, then close and party the night away.
flurrycat was kind enough to help us get us and our dealers stuff as far as Dallas, TX. Myself and danji-isthmus flew back to phoenix on wed so i could pick up my truck and a uhaul and drive back to dallas while she did homecon.
Currently me and ino89777 are at flurrycat 's place helping her with stuff and relaxing a bit before the drive back to Phoenix.
[UPDATE]
So the truck was found this sunday [17 May] apparently had been sitting on a street for a couple weeks, no mention of the trailer. Atlanta police have it now, waiting to hear back to see if any of our stuff is still inside, but not counting on it.

Primarily we are looking to get a laser engraver to allow us to do more detailed etching as well as offering one-off custom items such as fursona specific glassware and etched acrylic badges.
once the laser funds are raised and the equipment is purchased, any additional funds will be put towards a 3D printer to allow for rapid prototyping of new products.
We are not just asking for money with no return however, we are offering several levels/options of rewards, from discounts redeemable on our webstore to product from our webstore or custom items.
The decision to open this campaign was not a random one, i have been trying to raise these funds for over a year now through traditional means by applying for small business loans with no success.
All funds from this campaign will be used for the stated purpose of acquiring equipment, once the equipment is purchased, the campaign will be closed.

MFF dealers - waitlisted, probably a no-go now
Posted 11 years agoso i got the dreaded email from MFF that I've been stuck on the waiting list along with many other regular dealers. Because of this the likelihood of myself and has dropped dramatically [like into the 2-3% range]
As much as i want to go, i simply cannot afford to go to a con that I'm not dealing at, this is how i pay for my conventions and how some of my bills get paid [as well as purchasing supplies and equipment]
As much as i understand the desire for cons to give new dealers a try, this honestly has me very worried for the future since it seems many of the larger cons are going to this system. It used to be i would get on my comp just before the dealers reg was supposed to open, poised and ready, then get my app in the moment the reg opened. Now i know that yes, i may miss out on a table because of high volume of entries, but at least in that case i knew it was because someone else had beaten me to it and my spot on the wait list would be at least within the realm of possibility that i would get a table and i would plan accordingly.
Heck even FurFright's dealers system wasn't as much of a let down as this, sunday any dealer who wanted to try for the next year put their info in, and a number of names would be drawn randomly from that pool to fill half the spots, rest of them would go to general opening. even that system if you didn't get in it wasn't as big of a let down since it was "ok the numbers weren't in my favor today". Alright time to cut the rantyramble off xP
So as of right now, convention wise, myself and have nothing between Rainfurrest and FC.
I am currently waiting to hear back from unthrocon, but for Nov/dec the only con i know of is MFF.
