Ace Combat 7 Review
General | Posted 6 years agoFinished Ace Combat 7 last night so, time for my review of the game!
Ace Combat 7, it's the seventh game in the franchise...okay the main title of the series if not counting spin-offs. Taking place in 2019, some time after the last conflict between nations, the story has you play as trigger, a member of the International Joint Air Force, a conglomeration between different nations to keep the peace. One day the Kingdom of Erusea launches an attack that allows them to capture the space elevator near their country.
The way this was done is through the use of drones, allowing them to easily take over the elevator with precision strikes that followed by a massive invasion of Osea. It's your job to stop them. But in this world of information and unmanned combat, are we safe from enemies when they can easily shoot us down with autonomous craft?
AC7 by and large is a return to the glory days of the series, and this is helped by the numerous callbacks to the franchise, primarily AC5, not just dealing with Osea, but also key figures and events from 5 are mentioned, and even the former President Harling makes an appearance. The game plays the same, though with a few differences now. For one thing weather is now a major player, from ice frosting your engins in the clouds, thunderstorms that can actually jam your plane if getting hit, and making things difficult to see in foggy areas, the weather is just as much as a threat as the drones, which elads me to the meat of the game.
Drone combat, now this doesn't mean you're playing as drones, instead you're fighting drones, and these guys are going to be your bane, using their new super-weapon, the arsenal bird which carries them, the drones are fast, able to pull off moves that can get missiles off them, and are adapt to combat. Thankfully they go down in one missile, but they will test you, especially near the end, but the biggest draw is your rival ace, Mihaly A shilage, a old man who flew for Erusea twice in the story, and is the guy who's combat data is giving the drones their edge. You will face him at points in the campaign, and I'll say this, he is tough as hell. Between the fights with him, he will test you to the limits and I gotta say, he is by far the most powerful rival in the series, not only testing you, but also responsible for many deaths in this campaign.
Another thing they changed besides graphics, which make AC6 look tame, is the aircraft, now you buy them by collecting currency that you get in missions, depending on how well you did in the mission, with S rank giving you tons. This can be used to purchase planes, special weapons, and even upgrade parts to modify your plane. Trust me, you will want to shoot for S-rank or replay missions, giving you the incentive to replay to buy better planes. adding to that is multiplayer, which let's you play against other players with your aircraft you purchased. I haven't tried this mode yet, but i can say it'll be a blast...assuming you don't get shot down repeatedly.
The game itself is amazing, though controls will take getting used to, playing on the recommended settings will let you play as a real pilot, twisting, turning, barrel rolling and maneuvering in the sky, and trust me, you might get motion sickness or a headache...I know this because i'm suffering from a headache right now after finishing the game last night.
All in all, this game marks a return to the series in great form, and i recommend it to people whoa re fans or newcomers, I also hope the series explores some of the other countries, like Sapin, and give us another war between them to explore possibly more higher stakes or even future tech.

Spyro: Reignited Trilogy review
General | Posted 7 years agoNow I told you all on how much i love Spyro, and yes, i still do. So when i got the game in the reignited trilogy i was hooked when it was first announced.
Spyro: Reignited Trilogy is a remake of the first three games of the trilogy, Spyro The Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! and Spyro: Year of the Dragon. Each game chronicled the adventures of Spyro, a purple dragon tasked with helping the worlds he travels to. The first game has him rescue the dragons in the Dragon Realms that were encased in crystal by Gnasty Gnorc. Spyro 2 has Spyro deal with Ripto, a dinosaur sorcerer who seeks to control the land of Avalar while he just wanted a vacation. And lastly, Spyro 3 has him travel to the Forgotten worlds to rescue 150 dragon eggs and rescue them from a sorceress who seeks them for unknown reasons.
Each game adds to the table and the originals haven't aged well due to glitches and the graphics at the time. But the reignited trilogy enhances all of that by giving them a new coat of paint and allowing for new life to be breathed into the series. For spyro 1, the dragons you rescue all have different looks to add to not just the world but also to differentiate themselves form every other dragon. Each world is also unique with subtle details you wouldn't notice but also breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes of the world that add to the feel.
Each of the games tells Spyro's adventures that also help to get you into the game. Each game is a collect-a-thon, meaning you're collecting things such as orbs and talismans, eggs, and dragons in the first game. The common collectibles are going to be gems, which you need to collect in the games as a currency, in 2 this helps you unlock new powers or ways to progress, no thanks to Moneybags, and 3 amps this to show you need to get new allies and powers and progress in the world.
There is also skill points, requiring you to go and make moves to collect the points. The points serve as bragging rights for the games and when collecting all, you can unlock the art gallery to go and see the concept for the games. There is also the sad fact that the art gallery is a replacement for the Epilogue books, that sadly was removed for the trilogy.
Another thing that was changed was the music, which was remixed by the original composer that can be switched on the fly in case you wish to play the original songs or the remade ones.
As a fan of the series, I loved these was happy and enjoyed it, having played these games as a kid and beaten them easily. As someone who is a fan, this is my childhood on top of Crash Bandicoot. I do hope we can see more remakes of other classics, maybe Rayman 2.

Double Review!
General | Posted 7 years agoFirst on an unrelated note to this double review: Happy Halloween everyone! Enjoy the night, eat candy, and enjoy the night with family. Now onto this double review. The games in question: Horizon: Zero Dawn, and The Banner Saga 3!
Horizon Zero Dawn takes place far into humanity's future, where a apocalypse caused by robots gone rogue ended human life. Or did it? Playing as an outcast of a tribe of survivors, Aloy of the Nora was living her life alone, wanting to know about her mother, who she doesn't know, as she was seen as a motherless child and made outcast by the Nora. When at the Proving, a contest that will allow her to ask the matriarchs who her mother was, they are attacked by a group of people.
After fighting off the mysterious invaders, she enters the heart of All-Mother mountain, a sacred place for the Nora, discovering that she bears a resemblance to a woman. Named a Seeker by the matriarchs, she leaves Nora lands to go on a quest to find herself, uncover the attacker's identities, and find out the secrets of the world.
HZD, made by the guys who made the Killzone series of games, is a single player third-person adventure game in an open world. Playing as Aloy you can travel the world, do side quests, and face off against various robots in order to find your quest for identity, and explore the world. The world is gorgeous, with breathtaking vistas and the life of the world is magnificent. Each tribe has their own motif, with the Nora as a tribe where they are seen by others as a savage tribe of all females, in actuality the Nora are a tribe of close-knit people, who run via a matriarchal based society, but the men can also fight and train as well. The Carja are a kingdom of sun-worshipers who predominately are the largest of the tribes, boasting a breath taking city and landscape where you'll be doing a lot of the journey there. Next are the Oseram, the blacksmiths and best forgers and craftsmen of the land, and the last tribe of people who can control and seek to become knowledgeable of the old world, the Banuk.
Now onto the biggest draw, the robots, each robot species is taken after some form of animal, from the Grazers who look like mechanical deer, to the fearsome Stormbirds, massive avian robots armed to the teeth. The robots are the bread and butter of the game, and you will be encountering them a lot on your journey. The world is full of challenges, from collecting old mugs, finding metal flowers, locating vantage points, and even hunting the robots for sport in hunting challenges. The game is long and addicting.
Now some might find the facial animations a bit jarring, and crafting can be tedious, especially collecting materials. However, there are skills you can get to be able to fix that, making things easier. There is also the Frozen Wilds DLC, which adds a new region and more story which can help you when it comes to learning about new things, including adding now things like new robots and skills.
Really i have nothing bad to say about the game, I had a lot of fun and hope that they make a sequel for this game, as there is a ton of potential for this to become a franchise in it's own right.
Now speaking of franchises, Banner Saga 3, the final game in the trilogy. I just made a let's play of it and finished, so I can say it's worth the money to get the entire trilogy.
Taking place immediately after the second game, the third game in the trilogy has you switching between whomever is in Arberrang (Alette or Rook) and Iver in the darkness. The Ravens must travel through the alien landscape to find a way to stop the darkness, while the survivors must hold out against the warped and the dredge. Now every decision you've made culminates into a ending to the series, and what you do will greatly matter. If you saved a dredge baby for instance, will become vital later on, or if you kill someone, you may end up regretting it later on. Now for those who got the game solo without the rest, the game won't be as impact as the trilogy. For those who do got the other games, then it's a good send off that can change depending on what you do.
The gameplay remains largely the same, with differences between the two parties, Arberrang's has you balance choices in keeping the city safe, while Iver's has you travel through the darkness tor each the source. The battle's play largely the same, except for the horde, which requires you to fight waves of enemies, the longer you go, the chance at the end to get items from the boss. Another new addition are titles. At level 10 you can grant a title to your characters, which can change how they play. One can give a person bleed every attack they do, another can give one increased buffs when alone, or with allies.
The story wraps up many plot holes and revelations are made of the wider world, culminating in a final choice that can determine who shall live or die. And towards the end, you will have a set amount of time between the two, where all your choices culminate in how long Arberrang holds out against the darkness. You get six returns, anything higher and it's game over.
For me, who has played all three games, this was a treat, as I got to see how my story ended. It was heartwarming when the credits rolled, and I saw the survivors rebuild. while it was somber, it was good knowing my choices mattered. I highly recommend getting the trilogy edition and save yourself the trouble of buying all single.
Anyway that's my reviews, and again Happy Halloween

God of War (2018) Review
General | Posted 7 years agoSometime after the end of the Olympian Gods, Kratos, former Greek God of War, had settled down with Faye, and fathered a child, Atreus. With Faye however dying, the father must fulfill her last request to scatter her ashes at the highest peak in the land of Midgard. while reluctant to bring his son along, a encounter with a stranger forces the duo to leave.
god of War 2018 is a soft reboot of the series, following 3's ending. Kratos, sporting a bear and a new axe as his main weapon, the gameplay has changed drastically. Instead of it being more action, the story is more personal and linear at times, but also having a metroidvania-style to it. Certain parts of the game are closed off at first, but as you progress you can collect and explore the areas, now having more to them.
The game encourages exploration, and it shows best with the crafting mechanic to make new forms of armor and weapon upgrades. Upgrading your weapons and armor with materials from slain enemies or in chests can help you survive, as you are now bound by levels. To grow stronger you must craft and upgrade the armors you make, each time you can socket them with enchantments that further augment your strengths and powers. further adding to it is Atreus, who acts as your source to solve puzzles with, and is key narratively. From shooting enemies, translating the lore tabs and runes all over the world, and the cheerful demeanor he brings to the beautiful yet bleak world, helps bring the story to life.
As i said, unlike the vengeance filled quest in the previous games, this one has you scatter the ashes of Faye, simple, but the game does not make ti easier. From draugr, monsters, dragons, and even iconic creatures and figures from Norse mythology, your adventure will take you across the world and encountering figures from the Norse pantheon, from obscure, others iconic, and a few surprise visits from people from the Norse mythology. Not only that but you can explore the nine realms themselves. From the haunting beauty of Alfheim, the cold desolate Nifelheim, and even the scorching Muspelheim, the game throws everything out and has plenty more to explore.
The game is full of challenges and quests, some must be completed later when you are stronger, and others can be simple or complex spanning multiple realms. Then there is the true grand challenge,f acing the corrupt Valkyries, who are some of the toughest enemies in the game. Each having their own attack patterns and moves, it's safe to say that you're in for hell if you aim to face these ladies. The rewards are worth it however, and culminate in a truly difficult fight for the ages.
The story itself is a personal one, as Kratos and Atreus both must travel to scatter Faye's ashes. during which Kratos mush come to terms with who and what he was, trying to grow into a better man and train his son for the reality of the world. Meanwhile Atreus is excited to explore the world, but must learn to overcome hazards and obstacles and discover his own calling in the world. the story is engaging and fluid, with Atreus and Kratos changing over the course. by the end, I loved my time with the duo and am looking forward to the next game, if the stinger was anything to go by. the ending was heartfelt, somber, and had some surprises that shocked me and threw a lot of scenes into new light.
If you want to play the game, do it, it's fun, addicting and a blast to play, and enjoy the ride and journey, take your time, and have fun.

The Banner Saga 2 Review
General | Posted 7 years agoThe banners have been unfurled, the world ruined and broken, and people must either band together to survive or fall. what shall you do to survive?
Banner Saga 2, taking place a week after the first game, is an indie game and part of a trilogy of games made by Stoic Entertainment. Playing as either Rook or his daughter Alette, depending on who was sacrificed at the end of first game, they must lead the caravan of survivors and clansmen to Arberrang. However later on Bolverk, leader of the Ravens mercenary group, must deliver a box to a specific place.
The two's journies are paralell like the first, but Alette's focuses on surviving, Bolverk is mostly fighting and making sure you can beat your enemies and just make it through the day. There are changes to this however. For one, clansmen can help you forage food as you walk, meaning you can harvest for food while traveling. another thing they added was giving people the ability to have two abilities when they hit a certain rank. These can allow a person, say Alette, to have three abilities that drastically alter their playstyles. also, when a stat is completely full, then you can further augment the state by adding a bonus to it. Increasing your defense lets you either upgrade it to block further damage or regain a piece of defense slowly.
The world also gets expanded on while you travel, and the new skald class exemplifies this. skalds, the bards of the game and world, can have a passive buff, when a enemy dies in their presence, they give all fighters extra willpower to keep going. Another benefit is that training camps can now be used to train, allowing you to gain renown for completing challenges. Renown is important, as you can level up your heroes to rank 10, giving them access to further powers.
Like the first game, choices will carry weight, and soemtimes a choice from an early point in the game will positively help you, or negatively help you. choose wisely.
The game also helps throw some curveballs and plot twists in the game and story that changes the dynamic of everything, several the entire world over. I had a blast playing and now i intend to finish the game fully with 3.

The game also helps throw some curveballs and plot twists in the game and story that changes the dynamic of everything, several the entire world over. I had a blast playing and now i intend to finish the game fully with 3.
Need to say this... (VENT Journal)
General | Posted 7 years agoHey everyone, Mark here
I know it's been a while since i made a vent journal, but there are some things i need to get off my chest.
Firstly I graduated from college, my online one at Purdue Global, originally Kaplan University. Now this is good as i can get a start on my medical coding job...except...there's a snag. I had to take a certification exam and i flunked it badly. So i gotta retake it...but there's the problem, the cost. Originally it was $60 but now it's $106 when i set it up. Apparently the discount only lasted for so long and...well it passed.
Now can i still get a job? Well that's the problem, I live in the boonies, so finding one is...difficult, trying to find a spot that does the practicum, working there, was impossible. Now i gotta find me a job before next year when i turn 26 and get off my folk's insurance. this shouldn't be a problem right? Well, we don't have a lot of money first off, plus, there are my folk's spending habits on groceries and bills and other things we don't need...you see where I am going with this?
I told my mom countless times that the first try was paid by the school, the rest is out-of-pocket, but she doesn't understand that we have to pay that much for the tests, plus there is the fact that trying to find a job is a hassle since idk if anyone will hire me...you see my problem. I can't afford to take the re-exam, and if i wanna find a job some places need my certification to be valid...you see my point?
Sometimes i feel that all I did was a waste of time and money. I mean i want money to help my folks, but everything costs cash which I don't have, plus, not everyone is hiring people so...I feel depressed and angry. I mean i didn't even care about finding a job, I only did the school so my folks could get off me about finding a job. Now i got ten grand in student debts to pay off and no way to find a job...
sorry if i am whining but it's just not fair, schools are supposed to help you find a job, but seems they only want you to learn the bare minimum of work and then expect to pay them...
...Also, unrelated to the above, does anyone know what happened to KristinaKatt on DA? her profile has been deactivated, only just saw it yesterday so i'm curious what happened.

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir Review
General | Posted 7 years agoIn an attic, a young girl named Alice is reading a book. But this book is different, this book is part of a saga. Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir is an updated remaster of the original Odin Sphere for the PS2, made by Vanillaware, creators of Muramasa Rebirth and Dragon's Crown.. The difference is that they overhauled the money of the original system and the food system as well. While i never played the original, the remaster enhances everything about the original.
The five characters you play as are Gwendolyn, Valkyrie daughter of Odin, Oswald, the shadow knight, Cornelius, a prince turned into a rabbit-like being called a Pooka, Mercedes, a princess of the elf kingdom, and Velvet, an exiled princess. Each character plays to their own strengths and weaknesses, but they all play a part in the stories.
Each character involves their own story that play into each other at parts, each having to deal with their own problems. the stories all will lead to the final book, where you will need to pay attention to events in the story and pit a character against a boss, to get the best ending you need to get all the scenes, including the bad endings. Fortunately guides can help there, and if one character faces a boss, then the scenes change depending on the boss faced, whereas some other bosses will have the same scene despite a different character.
combat is fast paced and energetic, requiring you to use skills and upgrade your skills with phozons to make them stronger, as well as unlock and improve passive abilities. As for health, you can use certain coins to go to restaurants where you can eat food, not only giving you access to free levels depending on what you eat but also increased health.
The areas are all gorgeously crafted with the standard Vanillaware flair, but it will get repetitive as each story has you travel to most of the areas at least once. This can be a turn off for those who hate that kind of stuff.
I will admit i had a ton of fun playing this game, and i look forward to playing Dragon's crown pro, though i wish we can get a Muramasa remaster with all DLC for PS4.

Pillars of Eternity: complete Edition Review
General | Posted 7 years agoBeen a while since i did one of these, but yes i beat Pillars of Eternity.
the game takes place in Eora, specifically the country of the Dyrwood, where you, the MC, arived seeking a new life. after a bout of sickness, a simple gathering mission turns dark as you and the caravan you're with are ambushed, what follows is you taking shelter into a nearby ruin and happen upon a ritual with a masked man and a mysterious device. when it activates, everything changes. You are now Awoken, and can see the souls of the dead, as well as your past life. From there you wander to Gilded Vale, and things then open up afterwards.
Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, POE tasks you with uncovering the mysteries of Eora as you work to find out why you're having visions, the cause of the crisis of newborns born without souls, uncovering something vast and mystifying as you do so, and touching on the lives of all in the Dyrwood. every choice has consequences, so plan accordingly. The game is isometric and tactics are key, depending on class and party make up, you might be able to steamroll enemies, or be demolished by them.
Companions play a pivotal role in the game, from Eder, the war veteran who worshiped the god of Light Eothas now persecuted for his involvement in the Hollowborn crisis, to Kana Rua, an adventurer seeking knowledge, all companions have their own paths and stories. Eder seeks knowledge on his brother Woden, wondering why he switched sides, Kana seeks a tablet that may help his people. Every companion is voiced, and each quest leads to new discoveries, and as you play, the choices you make affect their overall endings.
Each area is different, from Gilded vale and the surrounding countryside, to Defiance Bay and the teeming underbelly of the city, each act has side quests and lore to it that flesh out the characters and the world. Certain tasks can be visited later on and all can be solved in a number of ways. One can go in swords drawn and kill everyone, another will require sneaking to steal something or even diplomacy to save the day. How the quests end will change your Reputation, making you more good or evil, and some will affect even larger things, such as the state of the world a the end of the game.
combat is heavily focused on tactics, and lets you pause and plan your next move, able to let you plan and act out the plans to take down enemies or bosses. With the complete version you can also access the White March, and having to deal with the reactivation of an ancient forge, before diving into some truly awe inspiring and even philosophical debates between characters and leaving you wondering if your choices will matter.
Playing the game was a blast to play, and with its sequel already out on PC i highly recommend it to anyone who loves games such as these. I hope tog et the sequel when it comes to console, and to have a blast playing it!

General | Posted 7 years agoWell, tower is back and working fine, thank god. but now my adapter might be going!
Story time, after i got my tower back the first time, i kinda goofed by shutting it down when it was updating the first time when i was trying t fix the monitor on it. So, had to send that to get a redone windows on it. Any-who, the second time i got it back and managed to do alright...but lately my internet has been getting disconnected. And no, it's not literally simple as turning my router on and off, it's literally the wireless adapter i use to connect to the internet. I know because the internet icon goes first, then i hear the sound effect when you unplug a USB driver or gizmo out of it.
Now, i know there's a storm here that messed with electronics, but there's more. After downloading the windows 10 update, the spring one, and going onto discord, i kept getting disconnected from my discord call then coming back in. And then i got kicked out the internet entirely and tried to get on it by removing the adapter...t took a while to get it back in the right way since the metal part was wobbly, and that was after the router was reset.
so...long story short, tomorrow i am getting a new adapter, or maybe a ethernet cable. But god dang it...if its not one problem its another!

Tower is back!
General | Posted 7 years agoWelp, got my tower back and its better this time, thankfully, nothing is broken, and it seems it's working fine now ^^
Well, time to enjoy my life again

I have Level'd up! + Tower update
General | Posted 7 years agoUPDATE 2: Well got it back, and no sooner did i, I ruined it again. First the monitor didn'twant to display, so i had shut it down and ended up messing it up by downloading another windows 10 update, that turns out to have been the one already installed...in short, i fucked it up further. So gotta wait till monday to get it back.
UPDATE:
Okay so my tower, it's shot, turns out Windows 10 got corrupted on it, and i found out that the hard drive failed a diagnosis, so yeah, i'm gonna be down the tower for a while. Thankfully the windows 10 is only $80, but the hard drive is something else entirely. Good thing my school gave me checks for money.
By that, i am now 25 years old!
Todayw as mostly uneventful, got to go to gamestop, preordered Dark Souls Remastered, bought MHW and Prince of Persia 2008 on sale. Also a controler for my tower to use.
Now...here's the bad. Tower needs to be checked out badly, To be honest i've hiding this fact but the tower has been super slow and...well, trying to systemr estore is very tough. so, i'm gonna get it checked. As for how i'm online i've been using a tiny blue laptop that has its own issues, namely, disk space. Like, idk what is in it, but it's freaking clogged up most of the space off this thing!
It's driving me insane trying to get more space but it always fluxes and its annoying. when i fix my tower, i'll get this full of more space, and hopefully before enxt week. got my last batch of classes and i'm worried.

Welp, My TOWER is dead
General | Posted 7 years agoTried to sue the tower, this time it actuvated automatic repair, and i tried a system restore on it...it didn't work, like it couldn't freaking do one. Seems from what my friends said, my OS for my tower was corrupted or destroyed, so i need tog et a new one. I had asked about my computer problems and mentioned what happeend and my use of it all day, they said the only ay it could be that messed up is due to ym using websites that might've hacked it or worse, alternatively a Nvidia driver update might've become corrupted during download, eithe rway, my tower is dead for a while.
So, using the laptop i sue for school and, well besides disk issues with storage space, it works, but i need tog et my tower fixed...god damn this sucks.

Salt and Sanctuary Review
General | Posted 7 years agoA world ravaged by war, a marriage deal between two kingdoms, and a mysterious island full of monsters. Thi is the world thatw e find ourselves in, and armed with just our equipment and a weapon, we must brave the horrors to face the evils and find the princess...and salvation.
Salt and Sanctuary is a 2D style Souls-like game, built by the guys who did The Dishwasher series. The game is very addictive, also very...very...VERY difficult. You will die a lot in this game, but each death only makes you stronger.
Like all Souls-like games, you will be given a class to start with, from the Knight, Thief, or even a Cook oddly enough, you will land on the island and given the choice of joining a Creed. Creeds are the covenants of this game, you start with three, that being Devara's Light, The Iron Ones, and the Three, but as you explore you can find the others, and get achievements to each creed. Each Creed has strengths and weaknesses, and all have benefits that can work well with your playstyle.
On that topic, skills require salt to get black pearls, which can be alloted to skills, some can increase your stats by three, since you can upgrade those nodes three times, and others icnrease your ability to hold poultices to heal with, or even to grant access to weild better weapons and armors. It's useful to plan out your builds with what you want, so please plan accordingly.
Lore is explained through in-game texts in items and bosses, the game coming with a compedium of all the monsters you've fought and beaten, explaining their story, what they drop, and how many times you died to the monsters. The boss drops can be transmuted to their weapon, useful if you wanna be able to beat the boss with a cool weapon.
Now, on transmutating, you will require a alchemist, to buy materials and upgrade your weapons, you're going to need to colelct stone idols of them. Alchemists allow for transmutation of items, Blacksmiths can help upgrade items, Guides allow you to fast-travel to other sanctuaries, Leaders you can give monster drops to upgrade your creeds to make thems tronger, and Clerics and Mages can let you buy miracles and magic spells respectively.
Each sanctuary is unclaimed, except for the ones where you find another creed, where you can join their creed but will be an apostate from your main creed. However, if you decide to go evil, you can corrupt a creed's santuary and fight off the defenders inside, winning let's you take the sanctuary for yourself, but losing gives you a bloody writ, which you can give to access another Creed.
The artstyle it beautiful, haunting and dark, very dark, but it has a ethereal beauty to it the game can pull off. The bosses all vary, from the Sodden Knight, to a massive golem, even a Kraeken dragon creature. Each enemy is varied and challenging, some even weak to certain elements and weapon types. Plana ccordingly if you need to use a wiki for it, trust me.
The game itself has the same endings, but each of them vary depending on your creed, each with a different poem for the creed of your choice, but all in all i had a fun time, even if i died a lot in the game. I recommend this to anyone who are fans of Dark Souls.

Tower troubles
General | Posted 7 years agoUgh...spent the entire day having to restart my tower due to a driver error. Long story short was Geforce Graphics driver had an update and i got it, but it slowed mt tower, so i shut down and restarted it, hoping to make it better. Instead it slowed my tower and i spent god knows hours on trying to fix it.
Geforce...you really need to work on making sure drivers don't do this. And seems like there was a Windows update that messed up peoples computers too. Today wasn't my day...

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Review
General | Posted 8 years agoHunted, subjugated, reviled, just for being part machine than man. The world of Deus Ex is not for the faint of heart, Augmented people are vilified after the Incident, deported to ghettos like Golem city, the nickname for the Utulek Complex, racism is high and Augs face persecution left and right.
Taking place after Human Revolution, MD puts you into the role of Adam Jensen once again, determined to undermine those in the shadows who seek to control all through augmentations or worse. You're with Task Force 21, a group brought together by the UN to deal with terrorism on the rise following the Incident, and tasked with going to Prague to learn the truth about ARC, the Augmented Rights Coalition, and the connection to terroism. A train bombing puts a damper on that and soon opens up a more darker world on the path to finding the truth.
The gameplay is different, as not only have the Augs been reworked, but you also have new experimental ones. One lets you make yourself invulnerable, another lets you hack remotely, and one even gives you nanoblades to kill or knock out your foes. Until later, you need to be mindful of what type upgrade, whether you wanna be sneaky and go ghost with invisibility and become a master hacker, or go guns blazing, the choice is yours.
The story itself is engaging, exploring Prague as you go around, solving the bigger mystery, while uncovering elements of Prague's corruption, between the Dvali crime family's anti-aug agenda, the police's corrupt enforcement of segregation, and ARC and anti-Aug sentiment, the city is vast as it is desegregated. Once a proud city of innovation for Augmented, now buses and subways are split between naturals and Augmented people. Families torn from the Incident and not speaking to each other, and brutal beatings and force deportations to Utulek in the night.
Utulek, Golem City, even if you only go there once, it shows how split the world has become. A massive ghetto that was originally used to house augmented workers, now all augs are thrown there. the depravity of the people there is heartbreaking, as are the themes prevalent in the game. Adam must choose to try and help, and you can, but how you go about it has complications later on. For instance, help one person escape Prague would deny another to Golem, and you might find them there in the worse conditions, needless to say, the world's bleak, and if anyone played Invisible War or the original Deus Ex, you know it's gonna be worse.
this game made me think about what to say, how to act, and really drew parallels to our world, minus augmentations, and it gave me a new sense of how bleak the world is and the challenges one faces trying to make it better by exposing the lies. But the DLCs help flesh it out. Each DLC was on sale and so i purchased them. System Rift has you play with Pritchard from HR, asking you to hack into the world's tightest info bank in Prague, during which you learn some unsavory truths about the company and need to learn how to be crafty with hacking. It also helps that it leads to the Breach game, but more on that later.
Desperate MEasures is a Free DLC that helps flesh more out on the investigation into the train crash, as well as who else is behind it. And lastly Criminal Past has you go back to Adam's first year in TF21, infiltrating a prison to rescue an agent who went dark, while uncovering the harsh conditions of a super max prison for augmented, and examples of police brutality.
And lastly Breach, a ingame mode that has you hack into the info bank to loot and steal information. Never tried it myself, but the game offers lore about the companies and their darker secrets, and has you attempt to hack into the vaults and expose the truth. You get instances of trying it, so i recommend you give it a go at least once.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is a fun adventure that got me to think about the civil rights of people, and how media can be manipulated by those who don't want the truth exposed. Yet there are people who fight against the system to expose the truth. It got me to think about a lot of hot button topics, while giving me a fun game to play, i really hope these people remake the original Deus Ex and its sequel, or continue the game with Adam's story. I really wanna know how it ends.

Divinity: Dragon Commander Review
General | Posted 8 years agoHave you ever wanted to run an empire, while also playing an RTS game, while making decisions that have a reflection on how you think a empire should be made while discussion hot topic issues based on what your generals or councilors want, while moving your troops in a Risk style game board, using cards to help your empire while undermining your enemies, all while playing as a dragon with a jetpack? Well, Divinity: Dragon Commander has you covered.
Made by Larian Studios, Divinity: Dragon Commander is a game that places you several centuries before the Divinity series, playing as the illegitimate son of Emperor Sigurd, you are tasked with bring back your empire that was fallen and usurped by your traitorous siblings On top of that, you have access to steampunk demon technology, able to make your armies that range from Troopers, fast moving but make up the bulk of your forces, to Juggernauts, battleships capable of wrecking everything in sight.
On top of making an army, you'll have your generals to back you up, and the game shines best with it's cast. From vulgar old warhorse Henry, bigoted lizard Edmund, free-spirited Scarlett, and stern and elite Catherine, your generals come with their own morals and stories, from Henry being the guard whom lost his eye and arm defending your father, to Catherine trying to push for women's right's in a male dominated world, each general's actions you can influence, either having them work as a group, or making them worse. This will end up coming to you in the form of decisions that will push their story forward and change the empire. From replacing half the men with women, or stopping undead from vandalizing a statue from a gay artist, the results will vary but encourages replay-ability.
Speaking on the undead, the Civilized Races of Rivellon, elves, dwarves, imps, lizards and undead, all will have councilors that will occasionally pop up that will need to be made to decide how your empire will become. From allowing conscription in the army, to building new roads, or allowing gay marriage, the decisions you make will show how they affect the empire, and how the people feel about you, one decision might favor the elves, but the undead will hate it. At a high approval of one faction, that faction will want to push a decision that the others will deny but will increase say gold production.
Easily the most played is this section, but besides politics, you can get married, in chapter 2, you must choose a wife form the races, who will have her own goals and story. One might ask to help deal with issues of familial persuasion, while another will either be encourages to uphold her race's ideals, or to become more pragmatic when dealing with other races. The princess you marry will have their own story and will change depending on the choice, in terms of personality and also physically in terms of the outfit...in one's case, her entire body can change and even her race (won't spoil, but you should check)
Now, as for combat, you can choose whether to fight in auto resolve, or RTS, in which you can send enemies to capture and destroy your opponent by building units. However, this can be factored and changed, sometimes RTS matches can work, otherwise auto-resolve is the way to go, as the map's tend to be the same differently, so a map may end up favoring you, or not. In the Risk map, you build armies and also your economy this way by building on a area, one area may have a high science output so building an Academy can boost it, same with gold. Cards can be used to help your empire flourish with card to boost your gains, while also undermining the other empire with debuffs or even sabotaging them.
the ending is the same, but how you go about it is the joy of this game, and depending on your views of the world and politics, no too paths are the same, encouraging replay-ability. The game is shot, but rewarding, even if it was rushed. There was a lot of cut content form the game, and i hope is Larian studios remakes this game, that they add the cut content in it and make it more fun and polished. all in all, i recommend this for those who want a strategy game with a deep and surprisingly thought provoking story and cast.

Jotun Review
General | Posted 8 years agoNorse Mythology has always been one of my favorite mythologies, besides Egyptian, Greek and Roman, even some Native American and Mesopotamian, I always loved hearing and listening to the myths of Thor, Odin, and other famous figures, helps that the Marvel series has them too, Thor is my favorite, especially the live action movies. why am I going on like this? Because i beat Jotun!
Jotun is a action adventure game using an isometric view of the world, you play Thora, a viking warrior woman who died an unglorious death at sea, fortunately Odin offers you help, but it's not easy. To get to Valhalla, you need to defeat the Jotun, five giants of immense size and power, to be able to enter Valhalla. They are Jera, the Jotun of Nature; Fe, Jotun of the Earth or Mountains, Ise, Jotun of Ice and frost, Hagalaz, Jotun of storms, and Kaunan, the Jotun of fire.
Each Jotun occupies a section of the world, and each has statues of the gods, whom you can collect their powers, form healing to using Mjnolnir in your power attacks, to Odin's Gungnir spears, you collect them and grow stronger. you also collect golden apples, hidden in the world, which increase your health bar to survive longer, and trust me, you will want that. the world itself is a beautiful landscape, hand drawn and the vistas are incredible, from the trees of Yggdrassil, to it's roots, to the stars in the sky and even Jotunhiem's landscape itself, all are beautiful and well made.
The Jotun themselves are difficult, each requiring planning and careful use of your god powers, of which you get a set charges of, you can also not use them but collect them, yet i doubt you'll wanna try it. the controls are fairly simple, use the WSAD keys to move and the left and right mouse buttons to attack, right gives you the heavy attack I mentioned.
The score for this game is phenomenal, with the final battle a real treat to the ears, and each area and boss is unique and memorable. you will die a few times, and some may not like the game's controls, but if you want to impress the gods and win their favor to Valhalla, I say get the game and try it out.

TV is Dead *UPDATE*
General | Posted 8 years agoAnd no, i'm not saying this as a general thing...even though i've been on a desktop a lot lately
No i am talking about my actual TV died last night. It was so odd, i saw it was fine before i went to bed, nearly an hour later, it started acting funny, i barely can see the screen, but i ehard sound, i thought it was a wire, so i turned it off, later this morning, i saw it wouldn't light up...so yeah my TV burnt out.
Dad found out and immediately scolded me that it was all my stuff hooked up to it, that i spend every day on it that it burnt it out. I know i do but i don't got a monitor so...i'm kinda out of luck till i get one and so i use my TV as a monitor.
Anyway, we have this big TV downstairs, wraped up from one of my dad's friends at work giving it to him, i suggest giving it to him to watch downstairs, he gives me his Tv he used...he said no...
so until this gets resolved, no streams for a while...this sucks, and Destiny 2 is right around the corner too! T.T
I hate my life sometimes...and now i gotta use my old laptop...great...
*UPDATE*
Well, my dad had a change of heart, because today i got his downstairs TV and he himself hooked up a wrapped up TV that has been sitting there for years, and holy hell is it huge. Like he mounted it on the wall for crying out loud!
So now i got this behemoth of a TV and wow is it big, well, this will suit until i can get me a monitor

Watch_Dogs 2 Review
General | Posted 8 years ago*Screen goes static as the image of a dragon in black with skull imagery and a mask appears*
PEOPLE OF THE FURRY COMMUNITY, THE INTERNET AND THE WORLD
WE ARE DEDSEC
Watch_Dogs 1 was a rather...mediocre to bad action adventure game made by Ubisoft, a new IP where you can hack anything in the world. But while this was ambitious, critics and reviews said otherwise. Due to stinging reviews that called it a "bad game" and a numerous host of problems and glitches, many believed that Watch_Dogs would be a one-time thing. They've since released a sequel, Watch_Dogs 2, and promised to deliver a breath of fresh air with a new location, protagonist, and new ways to hack and enjoy the online components of the game.
Well...they succeeded.
Watch_Dogs 2 takes place some time after 1, and ctOS and its company Blume have been changed. With ctOS 2.0, they're able to gather data on everything you do, from living habits, what you buy, what you do, no sense of freedom or privacy. Hackivist group Dedsec has taken the charge against corporate espionage. You play Marcus Holloway, a young man who had been falsely flagged for a crime he never committed and now seeks to get even with Blume and its partners. working alongside other members of Dedsec, including Sitara, graffiti artist and leader of Dedsec San Francisco, Horatio, a man on the inside who acts as another member of the team and insider trader, Josh, a man with high-functioning autism who is a master when it comes to coding, and Wrench, anarchist and fun loving guy with a cool mask.
As Marcus you can access to a wide array of gadgets and tools, from the trusty stun gun or a RC chopper and rover, along with your hacker skills, you can take the fight in any number of ways. whether you go in guns blazing, or be sneaky and hack targets from a distance, the world is open to you. As you gain followers and complete missions, you will be able to upgrade Marcus's skills further. From being able to hack cars to go haywire, call in hit squads from the local gangs or call the police, how you go about your missions is your choice. you will however, need Key Data located around the city and collecting it to unlock higher skills. Fortunately there are research points you can find that you can collect and store to grow stronger.
Upgrades are just one of the collectables you can get, as you can use the 3D Printer to purchase weapons and skins for your weapons. The trust stun grenade launcher is a must for any player wanting to be merciful, but if you want to get loud, you can get other weapons too. Not just that, but also clothes, cars and other sorts of collectables.
the world is your to control, and not just main missions, side missions offer glimpses into what you can do as a hacker, whether its hacking ATMs to give money to people or mess with them, pulling a reverse swatting on a troll, or even encountering a familiar face from the first game, you can explore and enjoy the world and its hours of fun.
Now there's the multiplayer, the first game had a...rocky launch with its multiplayer, among other things. 2 revamped it, giving you access to multiplayer modes you can enter or that can enter your world. the online opponents are Prime_Eight, another hacker group that gives Zero Days to anyone willing to buy, and the events can include hacking your opponent to gather intel on them, staying away in a game of cat and mouse until you win or die, bounty Hunt, which has you chasing your opponent and collecting data from them, and more. These events are fun, and when done can gain you more swag and bragging rights in the leaderboards.
the game boasts DLC for those who got the game and season pass, letting you try out more missions and explore some more fun with the game even after the end credits. Most are cosmetic but some story DLC have you team up with characters from the first and second game, whether it's hacking into a mainframe of a company working on nanomachines to taking on a criminal group, the game boasts some fun hours of playtime.
The environment and aesthetic look amazing, the city feels alive as you can drive and run around, petting dogs, taking pictures and even hacking other NPCs for money. Some missions even alter the landscape, such as tagging the Golden Gate Bridge with Dedsec graffiti. How you get around is your guess, but driving by the city in a new sports car, glowing up water mains while being chased by cops, it's exciting.
Anyway, i've spend enough time to enjoy my time with the game, if your new, recommend you try 2 if you want, if your a vet hacker, i say give 2 a chance, it's amazing. Till then...
