Got busy and forgot to update my journal for a few.
Thinking now doing an actual panel at BLFC. Maybe OCs and healing, making references or even suicide prevention.
If I had some artist friends going even the art for young furs panels would be cool.

Not sure if I have time to do art for the show. Loved the idea of doing horses and felines.

Still working on reading a book(for work) and playing Rune Factory 3 Special. The voices still throw me off since I spent a lot of time with the original.

I am working on a prerecorded panel for Shifter con on October 26th. I wanted to do a live panel, but I have a trunk or treat for work that day I have to be at. (Noir is going to get his debut)
I am going to talk through my process of posing and drawing for a transformation sequence. I am using Alice, one of my vampires, cause she has a monster form with extra limbs.

Changes at work that include increase in hours are effecting my productivity. Need to get another little sketch book for sketching. Working on some models, reading a book(for work) and playing on steam between things.

Thinking of taking some horror related commissions or making some YCH using the horror characters I picked up from  Illy._.Bean last year. Maybe recreate some classic horror scenes with them? Would be something outside my wheel house and good practice for the coming Halloween season. This might encourage me to name them.

I have Clip Studio working. The layout isn’t what I am use to since I updated to 2, but it works!
Going to be at an event this month doing digital work if the weather permits. That is exciting!

About every five years or so the stars align and we have the opportunity to go out of state. Generally, for BLFC something catastrophic happens; car completely dead, have to replace roof, etc. In 2019 we had things together to go in 2020, but we all know what catastrophic event happened; global pandemic!

With everything already paid for from 2020 and two successful instate cons, we went.

Thoughts;
Nevada has a lot stricter mask policies. We got warned once while eating the whole con. Not too big a deal, I have to wear a mask all day at work.
My friend and agent, PalominoPony, was great as always.
Ijij sushi was good.
I sold about half my pieces in the art show which is awesome. However, someone purchased my mane wolf painting for probably the highest I have ever sold a piece in a show. I can’t thank everyone who purchased a piece enough.
While browsing the art show, the mane wolf painting did receive a wonderful comment that I was glad I was present to hear.
A panel on PTSD was cancelled last minute. I told Diego, I could speak on the subject. We found the staff handling panels and I ran an impromptu panel about processing trauma by using OCs. There were about 10 people. It went well and is something I am passionate about. Seriously, get me talking about art therapy, identity formation or the use of characters in therapy and I won’t shut up. I should write about it or at least refine it to present again.
We both met and chatted with people we have only seen online; fursuit makers, artists, professional gamer, medical professionals, etc.
Diego did his first Guilty Gear Strive tourney.
Had a massage, that was nice.
Hotel was interesting. We had previously stayed at a resort for a con, so both of us a different idea of how the rooms and services would be.

A lot of craziness happened over social media during the con. We personally did not have any issues outside of people partying late at night.

Overall good. Not sure when we will be able to get back.

It happened and I did not get Covid. Watched staff get on to folks who had their masks down several time. I had my band checked while in suit. (Everyone who was cleared at reg got a band that was regularly checked)

Went to brunch with some folks Saturday.
Spent Saturday with  Draga03
Chatted briefly with my friend Rory. He is staff so it was very brief.
Sunday had breakfast with several dealers.
Fursuited a bit all days.
Bought the parts for a partial premade. Design is ready just need to make.
Bought soaps and a red tailed hawk pin.
Picked up badges.

Hosted a Swap meet that went over great. Was asked to host again. Kyo husky helped me take my stuff down and came by later with his suit. Medical meet and greet was nice. A lot of burn out from Covid.

TF panel was great, same hosts. Was too tired to stay for the pup mosh.

With masks, I have no idea who anyone is. It was bad before since I am not good with faces, but is worse now. Big badges with sonas help me know who people are.

Feelings are very mixed this year.

Positives;
Watched Draga and Mutt's panel. Well put together. Educational and fun. I would recommend it to anyone, suiter or not. The ASL was super helpful and a couple words I picked up I did use with BoysenBerry.
Pup mosh, amazing. I talked with some wonderful people. One of the pups got collared during the panel. It was beautiful. Handlers, Pups or Ponies you are all always welcome to chat with me. I love hearing your stories.
Transformation panel. Wish this had started on time. Would have loved to have more discussion. Good panel.
Poly panel with Ritz and Faust. Good discussions. I was falling asleep and had to leave, but it was enjoyable.

I got to see my friends Rory and Mercury, in and out of suit. Wonderful people if you ever get a chance to talk with them. They really brighten my con. Rory had registration running so smooth.
Chatted with Lance who I haven’t seen since start full time employment.
Got to finally meet Kai. We have known each other forever. Bought some of her soaps.
Met Colored Creature and got a picture with them, thanks to Kai.
Got a photo with three of the voice actors.
Bought some time with a fursuiter, who I drew a picture for. Gorgeous suit.

I suited a ton. Tara got a lot of nice comments. Had a couple folks impressed with my wire work in the mask. Lot of comments when lit up as well. BoysenBerry got called cute a lot.
Cool and weird thing. Arthy got a lot of love when I wore them. Usually no one really comments on Arthy, but this year I don't know what was different. Also, a harness was the best investment I have made for a suit. You can hang badges of them and unlike a lanyard, they don't get caught on things!

Negatives;
Glad I learned my lesson from last year's art show and bought half panels. Barely got the panel money back from sales. The adult section was not assembled when I arrived, so staff offered to hang my pieces. Well, they never got hung. I showed up about two hours before they closed only to find my pieces shoved under a table. I am still upset about it.
Charity auction had issues again. MC didn't know what some items were and didn't know enough about the guests of honors to hype or sell items. They sold like 10 fursuit tags, then complained that they had too many items? There were some unprofessional comments in my opinion.
Hotel is still not built for a convention. I had a movable AC unit in my room venting out an open window on the FIRST floor. It was not safe and at one point some assholes were tokening it up outside my window, so that came in my room. I couldn't stay in my own room because the smell of pot gives me migraines. -_-
No fridge or microwave.
Staff was not making sure panels were ending on time. Guess they were short staff?
Hotel overcharged me, so I have to deal with that this week.


Meh, all I have for the moment. I did have a lot of fun and I am sore from running around. Photos and art will be posted in the near future.

Positives:
I had fun. It was wondeful to see everyone who I know through the fandom. Great, beautiful, kind people who light up my day. (Too many names to list)
I even had the opportunity to hang out with my long time friend  avisk.
I adopted a Pokeloaf from  draga03 so it wouldn’t have to be euthanized. Diego loves it.
Added to my collection of SpringDragon work.
Had a short photoshoot with Tofu.
Debuted BoysenBerry and got a picture with the head maker, SoftieMallow formerly how bout meow.
People purchased the items I donated to the charity auction at higher then asking price.

Negatives:
I lost money on the artshow. Poor Gayle was handling the con’s artshow mess and did what she could. I paid out the nose for a tiny panel and used a table for the other one I think had they charged less I would not have had such a negative reaction. It was dumb.
When you see a fursuiter you want a picture with, shooing their friend out of the way who is also suiting it rude.
There was a drawing for those who donated items to the charity auction. They didn’t tell me nor did they let people know what items I donated during the auction. I did donate the items to help the charity, but I would have liked the same treatment as the other donors.

Positives do out weight the negatives. Hopefully I can go again.

As previously stated everywhere it was a blast. (BTW I have con crud, got it Saturday night. So, that is why there is a delay on everything right now)

Friday
Ran around as Medusa. Never find a Chrona when I am in the costume. As soon as I am out they are everywhere. Got a selfie with one as a line was moving, so I will have to try again next year. Might dress Diego up as Chrona so I can get my Medusa and Chrona picture, lol. Bought a bunch of goodies in the dealer's room.

Saturday
Pyrrha was a hit. Sadly, only ran into one Cinder. The encounter was hilarious though. I will post a picture to Twitter from it.
Photo shoot didn't have a lot of cosplayers at it, which sucked because there were a lot of great RWBY costumes just not at the shoot.
Got told I died a lot. Only a handful of folks who told me I die understood the RWBY Chibi reference I threw back at them. Same goes with the bread, which was peace tied like all the other props, lol.
Ankles have sores on them from my armor.
We also missed the costume contest cause I picked up a stalker/creeper during the day even with Diego with me. :/

Everything else amazing. Draga was great to see in and out of costume. Ritz and Fritz, Dae, etc.

Sunday
Grab bag day! Bought two grab bags and called it a day. We did get one of the bobbles we were hoping for. I'll have to make a video of them.

It was fun. Lines were awful Saturday, but still had fun. My Rachel and Tobias costume was fun. Once it was said people would freak out! A superman had the best reaction of excitement to the reveal. Lots of compliments on Tobias that I need to send to his sculptor.

Came home to a couple emails asking about commissions. Thank you guys! <3

Going to work on some thumbnails for a client. Hopefully, do some streaming later to work on the Artaxias dakimakura.

Thinking about opening a Patreon for art that I don't post here; finished art show pieces, NSFW commission, etc. Would be the only way to snag or see certain art from me, but I am still rolling the idea around.

Here's an example with a unicorn and a deer shark. Beautiful colors in both the foreground and background. Great show of background with the trees and mountains fading into the background. I like the details in the grass and figures here. Both figures are well grounded in the image and modeled. there is a bit of whimsy with the deer shark trying to draw as well.

This one does not feature hoofers, but the concept is great. Anthro ostriches are not drawn often.. Their long necks and legs are kept in way that just fits. There is nice flow in this drawing with the movement of the two characters, their interactions and show of emotion.

Wanted to do a quick write up about the weekend.

First off, it was wonderful to catch up with so many people! PalominoPony, -Mercury-, Rory-Kade,Simmer, Keyush, Ranciddinosaur, Raivn-anarki, Gearsypoodrox, Pachabel, Eski, StripeTail, Fictive and so many others. All the clients who had art to pick up from me were delightful to talk with.
I also had the opportunity to sit and chat with Hanmonster who is such a wonderful person. I was really sad to have to put off our Pho plans, but with my mouth all messed up it couldn't happen.

If you haven't been following me on Twitter, I had an infection in my mouth/face under a wisdom tooth. I had to have an emergency extraction Thursday afternoon right before the con. My face was swollen the whole weekend and eating should have been an Olympic game it was so challenging! I looked horrible! I am glad I could still wear a mask for short periods.

Goodies;
Bought a chibi feral badge from Ritz-Bitz. She was great and delivered it after my panel Friday night.
I bought a badge from Dark Natasha. She is very nice and asked a lot of questions to make sure my character was correct. Her and the artist next to her were excited at bat-eared fox.
Got a dragon head base from Canine Hybrid.
Bought a Pachabel original.
Some prints and originals from SpringDragon in a mystery bag.
A Yang charm from RWBY from Pins and Needles.
And finally I won one of Raciddinosaur's mugs. It has a red/orange chubby griffin in it!

Panel;
Learned enough that I am not sure I ever want to do a tech related panel again unless I own everything I need (projector, screen, power cords, surge protector, everything). I showed up early, since technology was involved, so I could get everything synced and hooked up. Well, nothing was ready. Nothing. Poor Xersa was the only one there trying to get a screen set up. We, Palomino (who was a great help!) and I, set up the room.
So, my panel didn't start on time. We needed another extension cord and once we had one, the project wouldn't sync to my computer. Xersa found another projector and that one worked.
No problems running it, but set up was a nightmare. All those who attended received 7 custom brushes. Four were made during the panel, two are ones I use and the last was because I have been meaning to make a brush like it for a while.

I probably will release the brushes into the wild in a couple of weeks. Haven't decided for free or a small charge yet.

Suits;
Gumball was a hit. I need to get some turn around photos of them. Gum will probably go up for sale so I can get some parts to make another suit.
Arthy, I forgot how tiring it was on my legs to wear faun legs. Oh my gosh it is a work out. I finally got her hooves to stick. Third time's the charm and gorilla glue.

Artshow;
Sold 4 pieces out of 12. Not bad.
Shout out to Gayle, who was on point this year. She was great.

Climate;
There has been some rough waters here in Colorado. After this con (and a bowling event earlier this year) I am not sure I can really participate in person anymore, at least in this state. I love RMFC, even being disorganized, it is my homecon. I work with the public and I just can't be associated with what is going on.

I will sit back and see what RMFC does before deciding if I am going next year. There are a lot of folks I would love to see again.

It was fun.
Not too many complaints. Would love to have an artist lounge next year instead of filling walk ways with impromptu art jams.

I got my picture taken with a California quail (Beastcub suit) and  magpiebones.

I sold 4 pieces in the art show! Two from each panel and about half of my business cards were taken from my panel. Doesn't sound that impressive, but that is the best I have done in any show (furry or otherwise)
Selfawarebear got me an alligator with baby alligators on its back from the show. He didn't get the  goldenwolf piece he wanted, but the other artist (don't remember the name off hand) he got.
