Sounds weird but I thought I'd share in case anyone here was like me and was wondering why drawing on a tablet hurts vs drawing the same way but on paper. The big difference is my wrist was sticking more to the plastic of the tablet surface than it did sliding across paper. My wrist wasn't sliding naturally so I was overextending my wrist muscles causing lots of muscle pain, but with a sheet of paper over the tablet there is a lot less friction so my hand can move and slide much easier meaning no pain

Been drawing for a couple of weeks on paper fine. This weekend I drew with my tablet again for less time than I'd spend drawing on paper and my right arm feels like it's gone through a meat grinder, even when drawing in the same position as when I draw on paper. Any advice/reasons this may be happening? I'm gonna try a wrist support, moving my entire arm instead of just my wrist and maybe hold the stylus at a different angle. Just confused as to why I'm getting more pain when I'm essentially drawing the way I do with pencil and paper, I don't put that much more pressure on the tablet as I do with paper

I just realised, since you find gasoline cans in ammo/equipment caches in hell left by the prior team when playing doom 2016, this means there was at least one UAC marine ballsy enough to carry a chainsaw and gallons of gasoline into hell. Also, there's an alternate theory where there is a rookie UAC marine given ammo/equipment hauling duty that ends up being chased around hell by imps whole screaming with a gas can in each hand

I've had a lot of comments that my animations, especially the walk one are too over the top/bouncy, especially the walk, but honestly I was trying to make them look as goofy and bouncy as possible cause I personally like the loose gangly look I'm getting. Is it really an issue or is it more of a case of people's personal preference? I mean I may try a more subtle animation next to see if I can do it but I really like the silly bounciness of them at the moment and may push them a bit further too

Just curious, I'm realising I pretty much do prefer it over digital in terms of how enjoyable the process is vs a tablet. I tend to feel more detached and less interested when drawing digitally for some reason. May as well stick to paper if I feel better working with it

I have had this issue for probably a decade now and it's why I've been 'content' working the same no pressure job for nearly 4 years and why you don't see many adventurous or in depth projects from me. Over the years, far too many times to count, to the point it feels like an inevitability, whenever I really try hard at something and want to make a difference or do something constructive, something out of my power always screws it up. Things like failing university, losing friendships, improving myself, countless drawing projects, screwing up at jobs, etc, all things I wanted to and did put tons of time into only to has something awful happen and put me back to square 1 feeling worse than ever.

Reasons in no order have been health issues, depression, anxiety, lifelong chronic back pain, 2 and a half years of sleep deprivation, wrong meds/treatments given to me by doctors, soft/hardware issues, a stress induced nervous breakdown during university, dealing/coping with my sexuality, family problems, bullying and at this point I wouldn't rule out a voodoo curse.

It sounds like I'm being dramatic but it's happened so many times and so many times I've thought 'I'll try again', work hard only to get knocked back to square 1, wishing I hadn't even tried it just broke me a while ago.

Maybe I need to deal with the inevitability of something going really badly when/if I tu putting serious effort into something instead of denying it can happen for the 10th time. Basically I'm asking what can I do to deal with things when I put so mic time and effort into something, have it all be for nothing due to my luck and feeling even more downtrodden and disillusioned.

It many not sound like much, but my last botched attempt was working for days solid on a sequence I was really enjoying, having my file corrupt, feeling terrible I lost all that time and work, spent a full day salvaging and retracing and half an hour after I'm back to square one, a nice fellah here on fa says he fixed up my corrupted work so I realised I'd just wasted another entire day. That's the kinda thing that really screws me up. Btw this has nothing to do with him, he was fucking awesome for getting me all that work back I had lost, it's just an example of my chronic horrible bad luck and timing that just keeps wearing me down until I give up again.

Been working on a fatty sequence for 2 days and both my files got corrupted, probably due to resizing down my canvas that was 5000 by 5000 (I like sketching large). Could someone try and open one of those in their copy, any version of OC (mine is 1.1, the last free version) and/or help me salvage this somehow?

If anyone has any fun ideas for a style of choose your own adventure thing I could try let me know. Did a little weight gain one on twitter where I set a poll and drew the results, kinda wanna do a more fleshed out idea with the same poll/vote then draw thing if anyone has any ideas they wanna see

Suggest a character and outfit I should draw, then, I'll make a poll on twitter with belly, chest, butt, etc, and every vote she grows like 10lbs in that area for every vote, also suggest areas/parts you wanna see grow on her. Twitter is dragonkicktweet if you wanna vote

Kinda useless with pcs as I've always used pre built laptops but I have the means to get a gaming pc now, so I was thinking if doom 2016 is my benchmark that will be more than adequate.

if you play doom 2016 quite comfortably, or even on medium but still looks good and playable, if you could list your pc components I can plug into a custom buildings' pc website or even link me the pre built system via a uk based supplier where you got it/similar specs to yours id be quite grateful, thanks.

I think the best way to look at it is the quality/quantity of my work has degraded parallel to my health in the last few years, pain, sleep and emotional issues being the main factors. It's why I don't colour, do animations, commissions, projects or comics anymore, it's happened time and time again a health issue will stop me halfway through a project and by the time I'm over it I will have lost interest so I just do quick sketches for fun now, plus I just started to hate colouring and have gone off inking recently, I just like to fill a page of sketches and move on at the moment.

I'm quitting commissions and just doodling to relax from now on. Twitter is much quicker and easier to post stuff up on.

Commissions are $12 for one or two characters on the same page, $16 for three and you get a discount on bulk orders/multiple pics/sequences if you pay for them in one go.
