Time for the annual birthday post. When I'm fed and feel ready, we'll also be doing a little streaming of Super Robot Wars Y today. Expect it to be around noon, 12:30 or so Pacific.

Well, twitch is going to kill my stream archives. I don't blame them, I'm part of the problem 200%, but I'm not happy anyway.

In short, come mid-April, they'll be nuking all "Highlights" (longer-term stream VOD storage) over 100 hours. And there's multiple speedrunners and adjacent complaining about it, like Kosmic and SummoningSalt,
Plus, a friend has pointed out that this is gonna directly make video sites like Youtube implode with a sudden glut of people trying to dump stream vods over if they hadn't been.
And then there's me, who hates that a cell phone (something I own entirely because of family needs to get in touch with me if the landlines are forwarded elseways) is *manditory* for any video over 15 minutes on youtube, so I can't even start dumping the hundreds of hours of videos off twitch...

Eh, no one watches me, and no one watches my vods either, so it's not like anything of import is going to be missed.

I'm debating come the new year, about adding to my stream count. Not that that'll do me any favors for my attempts to pry income out of doing whet I've enjoyed as entertainment my whole life, because more time streaming means increasing the amount of hours I need to have a 3 watcher average over, but I'm hoping that changing up the time of day on the new days some would help...

Mostly, I'm looking at adding Monday and Wednesday, and making at least one, if not both, later in the day. Shoot for something closer to "Dinner to Bed" than "Lunch to Dinner" for window of stream time... like, say, 7 to 11 or 8 to midnight, my time, instead of 1 to 5 (formerly 1 to 6 -- I plan on looking at going back to 5s once I actually meet the requirements for it)

I should also look to see how streaming to youtube works and twitch's requirements for multicasting (which I think is basically "twitch has to be the main focus of your attention" these days), to try and clip any kind of anything in what I do...

But yeah, just musing for the small amount of people who watch me here and have any give-a-shits to provide suggestions about.

Turned 40 today. Gonna stream longer than a normal stream day, as is my usual shot for a birthday stream.

Yep, I got older. 39 now.

Figured I should just have this nice and visible instead of the constant journals, because I doubt they're actually brining any one in.

So, yeah, I stream, five times a week:

8 PM Pacific Time, Monday
1 PM Pacific Time, Tuesday
8 PM Pacific Time, Wednesday
1 PM Pacific Time, Thursday
1 PM Pacific Time, Saturday

(So, 8/9 PM UTC, depending on if daylight savings is up or not, for three of the days, and 4/5 AM UTC on the 2025-added late night streams)

I just usually poke whatever I've got, trying to stick to "the same game every monday/tuesday/thursday" when poking at a longer game, and whatever on "Something Saturday" and "Whatever Wednesday", but depending on what I'm doing elseways (like playing games with friends before stream time) may mangle the established conviction.

Streams end roughly 4 hours after start (5pm Pacific / Midnight/1 AM UTC, or Midnight Pacific / 8/9 am UTC on the night streams), encompassing the nice "lunch to dinner" daytime gap for me, though depending on how I'm feeling they may run aground early, for the daytime, and a "post-supper / before bed" late night window on the newly added nights.

Typically lost a viewer after the 4hr mark, which when you're getting 2-3 viewers all stream long, is a massive viewer loss.]

Yay, yet another wonderful journal of depression. How I loath that this is the only thing I share with anyone who watches. Probably because most of my time is mediocre and tends to end up glass-half-empty.

In this case, it's another round of pet internment. Our husky, a short-hair with heterochromia (miss-matched eyes), has passed on. Apparently, she most likely had a tumor in the stomach, which is what has led to the last week or so of her not eating much, if anything. It would have cost us $400 just for the vet to look and see, and even if it was confirmed, there is a greater-than-likely chance it wouldn't've ment jack squat, as we'd've best caught it when it was small and not very intergrated (a year or more back, most likely); instead, we went with the cheaper alternative, and the one that was likely anyway, and had her put to sleep.

It is 5 PM now, I am tired from attempting to dig a hole to lay her body to rest in (3 attempts, all met with inch+ diameter roots less than a foot in), so in the morning, my father and I get to finish the hole we just started an hour ago, when there was still some light left in the sky.

As to why I give a damn about today, other than being an American, considering I botched out of boot-camp for the Navy... well, it is because my family (step mom and step sister, specifically) has had the sad duty to be a part of two separate soldiers returning from the front before their times.

Yay, another emo bitchfest journal from me... because that's about the only thing I ever put down on my journals.

Anyway, bitchfest about the state of the Me.

Work prospect suck. I put in, about 2 weeks ago, an app at a local bank for a teller position. They hired someone with more experience. I put in an app about 2 weeks ago for an OS I position at the state tax offices. They wanted someone with more experience, but I had met the minimums for requirements.
Fast Food, unless they're right now hiring, throws your app away when you walk out the door.
I have apps in at Safeway for half a dozen positions (all entry level); an app in at WalMart, saying I'm good for any department they want to hire for, pretty much (Don't have Tire&Lube Express marked); and with 66&67 having just passed stupidly, almost any employer in town is looking at increased costs, and therefor are even less likely to hire someone like me (especially when they potentially can hire someone who has years experience in their field, vs someone who has most likely none).

Plus, I'm apparently the healthiest person in the house. Dad isn't as young as he used to be, and has to balance any job he might get with his social security he gets for being disabled. Stepmom blew out one knee at work, got fired eventually because she was injured on the job, and the other knee is seemingly looking almost as bad. Stepsister is currently at the hospital, having torn one kidney from football and stuff, and the other one is almost shot, which will effectively kill football for her. PERMANENTLY... or else dialysis after another hit or two.

So yeah. Life is shit. Depressing shit.

"Captain" Lou Albano died Wednesday morning.

That is all.

A date that has certain meanings for some, different meanings for others, and a certain special meaning for me.

To some, it's just another day of the week; a Saturday, in this case.
To others, it would have been Michael Jackson's 51st birthday, has the King of Pop lived to see it.
To me, it was my 25th birthday; and like the one that preceded it, 20080829 (A Friday), it showed me something specific... the date one celebrates completing another year of life gets less and less meaningful the more of them you pass, until you reach a "mid point", roughly 50 the way science currently has the average human living, in which they get more meaning, to celebrate surviving another year as your own body begins to break down.
