So,

I don't have a good idea for my annual Bowser Day painting, and I usually do an annual Free Request Stream

but this year I cannot do the free request stream due to work schedule

So I figure! What I can do is raffle off one big piece

One free request
This piece will be PAINTED
I will roll on July 26th

Tell me something about your character

It can be anything, even something you think is really mundane
if you need some starting points though,

What was the initial inspiration for your character? How did you come up with them?
Where did their name come from?
Any particular life events, or turning points?
Age?
Where they live? Are they rooted in our world, or in their own, do they belong to a particular era?
What inspired the colors?
Do you have art featuring your character? What's one of your favorite pieces? (with no disrespect to the others of course)
Is there something special about them? Origin story, powers, etc.
Do they belong to a species, or are they their own species?

Just spew, I'm very curious to know!
If you have multiple characters feel free to talk about any, or multiple.
Of course you can just tell me about yourself too! Things you find interesting or are drawn to, etc.

Depression

Anybody have any tricks to make it through this bog?

I feel like I would have found them by now, but alas I have not.

I really struggle with extreme depression, and have since I was a child, I have constant suicidal thoughts. Please do not worry about that though, I have had them forever, and I'm still here, I'm not going anywhere. But it's so frustrating to deal with when you hate yourself that much it makes every moment the hardest struggle to get through.

Just doing anything,
'I should eat' 'no you shouldn't you fat piece of shit, you should kill yourself'
'I should draw' 'no you fail at that and have no creative ideas, you should kill yourself'
'I should go outside' 'no don't show your face you disgusting pig, you should kill yourself'
'I should sleep' 'you're useless, you should kill yourself'
It makes it really hard to get anything done, and I just want to shut my stupid thoughts up, but have no idea how to. Again they've been going on forever, I'm just so sick of it.

I've tried, and continue to practice, healthy eating, and working out, as well as meditation

I've tried whatever you call it, positive thinking therapy I guess? Like whenever you have a hateful thought turn it into something positive. It's supposed to eventually replace the negative, but it hasn't worked for me.

I also tried another thing I read about where basically you think of yourself as an outside perspective, instead of it being my own voice telling me these horrible things, think of it as someone else, and ignore them. And that actually sort of worked for about 6 months, but I was a zombie, I didn't get anything accomplished and didn't feel anything.

It really sucks hating yourself this much, but always being stuck with yourself

I am very sorry if you don't want to hear any of this, I don't want to be a burden or whine to you guys.
If you have any tips or tricks or anything though I would love to hear them.

Also if you're struggling with anything or ever want someone to talk to I'm always available.

MFF and Queue!

So I had a blast at the con, I got to hang out with amazing folks as always, and got to meet and hang out with two of my favorite artists!

I miss all of you already, I hope you are all home safe, or traveling safely at this moment.

And to all of you who commissioned me you were so incredible, and sweet! I can't believe I'm lucky enough to be able to do this and have you all support me, I truly appreciate it. here is the queue. I always want to remain active, but I never know what to say to an open group of people.

I appreciate all of you, and hope you are very well.

I would love to hear what is going on in your lives? What are you up to, what are you looking forward to, etc.

After AC I got a regular joe job so I've been working a lot, meaning even less time for art, but I will be going to MFF in early December. And I hope to put a lot of work into my portfolio in 2015.

Best time of my life, I am so surprised at how great that was. I've been to cons before, but nothing compared to that

It was basically just like hanging out with my best friends normally except there were tons of us
and I made a bunch of money
and I got to meet people I've admired for years

All it was was a ton of love and support and sheer hilarity in a completely absurd location, so we got to talk a lot of shit too
I bond over comedy and this is one of the funniest groups I've ever been around

and I'm super broke anyways, I can't afford to make and be lugging around a big supply of prints

(if I can find an easy way to make or get buttons made)'
