Art is exciting and fun again, though slow. I'm very busy with work, housecleaning, starting an exercise regimen, and trying to stay sane... But, these art slave birthday pics came out pretty good, and I'm happy with them... I hope you will be too!

Had a pleasant day of light shopping, bought some more succulent plants for my little mobile "garden". The few I bought a week or so ago really helped me to divert my attention from sadness, and these new ones seem to be helping too. It's soothing, to have something little to take care of, particularly since they're such resilient plants that love the sun and require hardly any water.
I have some fire dragon sempervivum (hens and chicks), a kalanchoe that was gifted to me (must keep it away from pets since it's toxic to them), and a beautiful "black prince" echeveria... Today I got a "black rose" (Aeonium arboreum), a "topsy turvy" echeveria, and what we *think* is a senecio blue... I hope I'll do well with them, I've always wanted to grow succulents, and it's nice to finally do it... Or try to

I'm feeling better. I sketched today, I'm rockin' some of my favorite tunes, and I've had a nice day with zel. Things will get better, I just have to make them better.

Been working my ass off, pulled three shifts yesterday, one of which I was the lead for. I'm still sunburned from the music festival over the weekend--which was great--and still trying to muddle my way through complicated emotions: less great. I often feel like I've become automatic, like my brain is just running a thousand background processes while my arms and legs and mouth work like normal. It's weird.

Sans is recovering from surgery (had his bad eye taken care of), but all seems well with the cats otherwise. Going to be donating the money from the Papyrus fund to my job, specifically to the program for medical care. I don't feel right keeping it, so it's going to go to help other cats in dire need. As it should, I believe.

I can't draw lately. I hope that'll change soon, but I have a lot on my mind. Perhaps it's only to be expected. The persistent gnats of story content and world building are buzzing around my head, but it's nothing I can act on. More research. More study. More thought. Don't you hate it when a good book makes you realize that your own work is lacking? I don't, actually. It makes me happy to realize that I have the ability to recognize what I've done wrong; some people never realize that.

I can't give up on it, even though sometimes I want to. It would be a disservice to my friends who helped me and to those who have taken interest in the story, and to the characters themselves. "Pray for the people inside your head, For they won't be there when you're dead" is a song lyric that I think of often when I'm stuck like this. It may not have been written with the same intent, but the meaning it has for me is clear.

We lost Papyrus. We said goodbye, we hugged him, kissed him, and talked to him a lot... And we held him even longer after that. Regrettably, there was nothing we could do. But, we did everything we could have done, which was actually a lot.

We gave him a happy life, regardless of length. He was so happy, so vibrant, and such a joy to be around. He was our baby. Zel and I would call him our baby, and we'd talk about how excited we were for Kierou to meet him.

But, we still have 3 babies. We'll be alright, we've got Gaster, Sans, and Braille, and eachother.

Thank you so much to everybody who sent well wishes and shared the gofundme page. It was hard for me to ask for that kind of help, but it means a lot to me that you guys helped anyway.

Thank you, Papyrus. You were a wonderful little kitty, and I will never ever forget you. Neither will any of the people who met you or knew about you. Please, sleep well.

Hey guys... So me and Zel just took Papyrus (our kitten) to the vet emergency center. He is having a hard time breathing and is experiencing some kind of pain in his abdomen. They are going to give him oxygen, and will also do X-rays, but that's just right now. We will see what happens after, but it's in the middle right now. We are cautiously optimistic, and they are going to do what they can. So are we.


Braille, Gaster, and Sans are all fine, and Pap is going to be getting great care from a great vet center. We will visit him often, and I will post updates as necessary... I know a lot of people are fond of him, and rooting for him... We appreciate that, so much!

Shame about the lost 6 days of stuff... But, I'll get to work trying to figure out and reupload what of mine went missing. Hoboy!

For real though, I'm very glad the site is back, and that the damage wasn't worse. Glad to be back!

There will be no more requests until further notice. I am sick of feeling taken advantage of, and I'm sick of people not saying thank you, I'm sick of people only showing up for free shit, and I am sick of my feelings being disregarded. So few artists even offer requests, and now I'm beginning to really understand why.

If people are going to behave like entitled children, then I'm going to behave like a grumpy mom; consider yourselves grounded from requests. I'd say "you know who you are," but it's obvious that the people causing me this distress are so self-absorbed, they don't even notice that they're causing a problem. Or, maybe they just don't care.

To the majority of you who were not jerks to me, I'm sorry, but I can't handle it anymore. I regret that this thing I originally did out of kindness and enjoyment of making art has turned into something that brings me almost nothing but unhappiness. I am not going to go into some whiny sob story about it, because frankly it's not worth it; almost nobody would care, and those who do care would just be upset. Just because I'm upset doesn't mean I need to get others upset too.

I'll repeat what I said on the stream last night, for good measure: If anybody says anything to me about requests for the next few days, I'm going to go ballistic. Think about someone other than yourself for a change and just leave me alone about it, I really don't give a shit about anyone's whining.

Honestly I'm pretty tempted to quit streaming altogether, it's not even fun for me like it used to be. Whether this is because of "request whores," or just my own bitter and miserable self, I'm not certain.

Marsden
1) Marsden is actually from the Wilds naturally! His parents were refugees, and he moved to Anglos when he was a small boy (so no accent), but comes from a long, proud lineage of highlanders!
2) He's totally oblivious when it comes to love, he has no idea that Mathilda has a bit of a thing for him (which she tries to hide by nagging him)
3) He doesn't get drunk, he likes to keep his wits about him! Never know when you're going to have to defend yourself...
4) It's basically impossible to offend him, he loves all kinds of dirty and off-color jokes.
5) His sense of taste is pretty poor, he likes sour flavors because it's one of the only things he can actually taste!
6) He is very fond of Rosamund and her brothers, since he essentially watched all of them grow up! He was closest to her when she was little, but when she hit puberty she started to shun him, perhaps due to her mother's influence. He often misses those old days, but he is also proud of how Rosamund has grown into a well-mannered young lady B>
7) Marsden is a very skilled fighter, though perhaps his greatest weakness is speed. He can take a huge beating (he was fully conscious when he lost his leg), but he is a very easy target due to his slowness...
8) He isn't particularly devout, but his infrequent prayers always go to Terrakion!

Rosamund
1) Rosamund actually has struggled a lot with her self-confidence in the past, but her mother made sure she grew out of that uncertainty; a noble lady should not carry herself so shyly. She still has a difficult time accepting compliments, though!
2) She likes "dry" tastes like wine, and is particularly fond of dishes like beef bourguignon! Her favorite type of berry is eggant
3) She is actually quite sharp-witted, and can do math in her head very easily. She's also quite good at chess!
4) She grows sharp thorns at the tip of her tail near all the leaves, which she usually plucks to keep from snagging on her clothes.
5) Her move is leaf blade, which manifests as a long, sharp stiletto-like thorn that grows from her wrist... Very Assassin's Creed! She has basically never used it, because it is socially unacceptable for a woman to use a move in a public place in her time period... Plus it's a very unladylike thing, in her eyes.
6) Her favorite color is red, though she tends not to wear it because it clashes with her hair!
7) Her middle name is Helena, after her mother.
8) She always wanted a pet as a child, but her father never approved of the idea. Her husband obliged her though, and got her a fletchling! The fletchling grows into a handsome talonflame, which she uses for hawking (falconry) now and then. The bird's name is Igniferi!

Doreen
1) Doreen is actually one of 6 siblings! She's the oldest by a far margin, and often acts as babysitter... Which is something she doesn't like to do, but never complains about!
2) She has a part time job as a phone operator! She sort of likes it, working with the switchboard is fun for her (you have to remember, she's a teenager in what is basically the 60s)
3) She actually wears braces on her knees, which are very weak as a complication of her early evolution. She goes to an all-girls school with a uniform that has a skirt, but she managed to convince the principal to let her wear pants instead, so she could sort of hide the braces and avoid being made fun of for them.
4) She gets bullied a fair bit anyway, mostly for being nerdy and smart. But she doesn't let them get to her, and refuses to do their homework for them! Her friend Mary isn't so lucky... but Doreen tries to stick up for her whenever possible.
5) Doreen's father is a police detective, he's very dedicated to his work! She looks up to him a lot, though doesn't often get to spend time with him, since he's so busy with work. Her mother is a nurse, and also has a drinking problem. She's not a mean drunk though, she just tends to be really giggly and irresponsible... Doreen is pretty used to it, and doesn't really care, though she herself isn't at all interested in drinking, drugs, or partying
6) Doreen LOVES audio equipment, and music (to a lesser degree, lol). Her favorite band is a somewhat Beatles-ish group called "Hawkin's Lot," who are pretty popular!
7) Her favorite color is gray! Which is funny, because it's part of her middle name
8) She loves to drink tea and black coffee, and she's one of the few kids who has always liked eating her vegetables. She hates spicy food though, avoids it like the plague!

Lynette
1) Lynette is a ballet dancer typically, but she likes all kinds of dance! Hip-hop is her second favorite.
2) Her work situation is often really unpredictable and bizarre, so she has a part time job at pokemart to help pay the bills! Luckily she can transfer between stores if her dance career takes her far away, so in a way it's a perfect combo for her!
3) She's pretty friendly and boisterous, a true extrovert! She loves the limelight and can be competitive, sometimes to an obnoxious degree. But, she does it in good fun!
4) She REALLY likes anal sex, even more than vaginal! Not really a fan of oral sex, but she can be persuaded.
5) She's looking for a steady boyfriend, but isn't really having a lot of luck in that field. She does like dating though, and doesn't really mind being single, most of the time!
6) She does have a meowth, to help stave off the loneliness of being single... His name is Pence!
7) She loves spicy food, and is the type of person to always take on those hot wing challenges.
8) Really doesn't like bitter tastes, is particularly not fond of coffee, or liquor. She does like a good cocktail or mixed drink, though!

Tako
1) Tako's favorite thing to eat used to be octopus or squid, but now she (understandably) no longer is comfortable eating such dishes!
2) She has a soft voice, but can really shout her head off when she's frustrated about something! When soufflés fall, or burns happen she can be heard very clearly...!
3) Before the incident that turned her into an octopus hybrid, Tako was very carefree and naive, even reckless. Now, she's become a lot more cautious. (Which is not a bad thing, really; giving a stranger a handjob in exchange for magical powers is a pretty bad idea,despite how well it worked out for her)
4) She always finds a way to dodge doing the dishes, she's made it a true art form!
5) As a dragon, she had your average fire breath, nothing particularly impressive there. Now, however, she has a sea-salt breath power which causes metals to rapidly corrode, and turns fresh water into seawater. She thinks it's pretty lame, and barely uses it (though it could be very effective for a number of things)
6) She tries to eat healthy, but ends up munching on the unhealthiest stuff she can find whenever she's upset or stressed out. Due to her robust figure, one can infer that she is very easily stressed out on the inside! (outside though, she's pretty quiet)
7) She likes to read, particularly thin, cheap paperbacks. Almost anything will do, though nothing does better than a cooking/home decorating magazine.
8) She has told her parents no fewer than six different stories about how she ended up part octopus, none of which mention the "gave a wizard a handjob part." (she's an awful liar)

Vasha
1) They're really good at telling stories, whenever called to do so around a campfire, or in a bar! The catch is, the stories are always true, from a past life...! Spooky
2) Due to their ghost hunt-y line of work, they're not really spooked by anything... Except bugs! They're very nervous around bugs, and often will try to avoid them altogether.
3) Vasha doesn't really like most foods, their own tastes are very very plain! like, breadcrust and raw vegetables plain.
4) Vasha's nature is hardy, but each of their egos has their own nature with their own strengths and weaknesses, and even their own preferences for food! Sometimes Vasha will come out of a trance (posession by another ego) with some icky weird taste in her mouth, from whatever the ego ate.
5) Vasha is actually a vegetarian! Their other selves, however, are most certainly not.
6) The Paladin is the most recent spirit, he died the very minute that Vasha was born. As such, the two of them have a very strong paranormal connection; they are able to predict what one another will say or do, almost like twins! Even the Seer finds it uncanny.
7) Vasha prays at every shrine, temple, church, and sacred site that they encounter in their travels, despite being agnostic.
8) Vasha's favorite pokemon are snubull, and granbull! They think they're really cute. Petting a snubull's belly is one of the only times you'll see Vasha smile with childlike wonder!

Rika Tenuto
1) Rika loves summertime, and going to the beach! As one can imagine, many other people love it when she goes to the beach too(hoho)
2) Her favorite instrument is the clarinet, played in jazzy fashion! Saxophone is a close second. She's dated a lot of jazz musicians, most of whom she knows from her job as a lounge singer!
3) She loves fried fatty doughy dessert-y foods, but always eats in moderation, to keep her figure. Her one true weakness is beignets, which she can never resist!
4) She's very sociable, and likes most people. It's frustrating to Cal, because she never seems to notice creepy people or lowlifes who want to hang around her, and treats everyone with the same sweet flirtatious attitude.
5) Her favorite color is "rainbow." Because apparently she's seven years old inside! Furthering this, she collects stuffed animals, and proudly displays them in her very nicely decorated 1960s style house
6) She likes to travel a lot, sightseeing, shopping, and looking for street musicians to tip! She often bugs Cal to come with her, but he hardly ever does.
7) Her least favorite things are thunderstorms, cats, smoke, and sour notes. She often bugs Cal and their mom to stop smoking, to little effect.
8) She doesn't really like pants, and only rarely wears anything that isn't a dress or skirt. She doesn't even really like tights or stockings, she likes having her legs bare!

1) Avie loves scented candles, and her home smells thoroughly obnoxious as a result. She's very interested in homemaking, mostly due to birdish nesting instincts.
2) She wants to have children someday, and dreams of having a large family! She thinks kids are the cyootest, and is good at talking to them
3) She rarely gets angry, and is more likely to just walk away from situations or people she doesn't like. She also doesn't hold grudges, and finds complaining to be useless
4) She loves videogames, but is sort of terrible at all of them... Except fighting games, which she has a weird instinctive skill at
5) She's largely a positive person, but tends to be brought down by the ill will of others... She thinks a lot about the world as a whole, and often feels personally responsible for things that are wrong with it, even though that's ridiculous.
6) Her favorite season is winter, even though she doesn't like the cold; she loves the holidays, ice skating, hockey, and the sight of snow though

I would like to know: what is your opinion on content warnings? Specifically, "trigger warnings?" I've been thinking about the topic a lot recently, and I'm debating whether or not I should continue to provide content warnings like :gore: :noncon: and what-have-you on my work. Working on too many things at once (as usual), and not sure what to do with myself at present. Heartlasses... New Year goals... Iron Artist... A game project... Comic projects and writing projects both great and small...Encroaching sadness (I hesitate to say 'depression' since it's a word that people throw around constantly and often inaccurately) and a drop in productivity are currently on my mind, but I think it's better to try and keep going than to be fearful of such things. Otherwise, life would be a constant state of worry, and that's hardly helpful to anyone!

But, good times are around the corner! My birthday is tomorrow, and I have some fun plans to look forward to this week... I'm actually very pleased about that, I've been looking forward to some pick-me-ups. I'll be 23... I think! I find that the older I get, the harder it is to remember my specific age... I'm too young to have this problem yet, I can only imagine how shite my sense of these things will be in a decade :'D But regardless, it's a happy time.

I have been growing my CD collection even more! Delta Rae's After it All, Colin Meloy Sings Live, and Tame Impala's Lonerism were my lastest acquisitions. Good albums! I look forward to the rest of my orders coming in, got some good tunes in my future <3 I also got a new book to use in my research for medieval things, which I look forward to cracking! but first I have to finish another, and another, and another... Fuck. I'll never be done ;.; Maybe that's the fun part?

All 4 are now settled in, and our final (not so) little one is doing really well! (Braille is her name, in case one was curious) I was worried she might have a hard time adjusting to our room and her brothers due to her blindness, but she's actually doing wonderfully: snuggling and playing with everyone, finding her way around perfectly. She's very special! <3 And little Papyrus is getting bigger and stronger, I hope he'll be able to get around on his own soon! He's learning a lot and having a much easier time with balance, and eating like a HORSE. Meanwhile his brothers are getting up to trouble and having all kinds of fun... Crazy skelecats!

But no, back to the art. I will probably not be streaming until thursday, and I will likely not be doing requests. Sometime soon I think I'd like to make more adoptables--possibly customs--but that will have to wait until this project is over with, probably. Or at least it'll have to wait until this art show is dealt with.

Hello all! The following messages are intended for people who partake in my requests, so if you are not one of those, than there's no need to worry about this journal.

I am thinking that it might be wise to make Terms of Service agreement for my requests. I want to avoid issues like the one I am about to discuss, and others that could come up going forward.... While that may sound scary and srs bsns, rest assured that it's not! All this would mean for you--the requester--is that you'll have to read a list of rules about my requests (approximately the same as the rules that have always been there) and "sign" it. You'd only have to add your name to it once, possibly re-adding it later if anything changes. This is to protect your interests and mine, and to make sure that everyone is aware of the rules of my request streams!

But, on to the bone I have to pick:

I notice that sometimes I get very vague requests for "anthro of x gender and species," or similar. While this is not a big deal, it has come to my attention that sometimes people take these requests and make characters of them... Also, not entirely a big deal.

However. In the interest of keeping things as untangled as possible, I ask that you please let me know if you plan on using the design I have made for you as a character. I have no problem doing character designs on request, but I would at least appreciate the courtesy of knowing that's what I'm doing.

You might not think this sounds like a big deal, but trust me, it could be a big deal. Consider the following: If I don't know that you're planning on using the design as a character, I would see no problem with using the design myself in my own stories or artwork. After all, you didn't say anything. How am I supposed to know the character I drew is now "Princess Sparklebuns the 14th"? As far as I'm aware, I have every right to use the character as "Duchess Finetitties the Bouncy," and I have a right to copyright the character's design and name if I so choose. (assuming they're not a fan character or a copyrighted species) Heck, I have a right to make that design an adoptable and sell them to someone else! That could be a problem if you're already using the character without permission... There could be a legal kerfuffle over such a thing!

See what I mean? Big confusing problems. Please remember: Even if it is "your" request, it is still my drawing. I have a right to know if you are going to be using the design I've made as your own. Just because you said "draw me an anthro whoseywhatsit" doesn't mean you own that whoseywhatsit. I'd be happy to give you the whoseywhatsit, but you need to ask first!

BUT. I would like to stress: I have no problems doing designs on request for people to use. Seriously, I don't... I'm all too happy to help you bring a character to life! One of my greatest passions in life is to design, and one of my greatest joys is to help others. I love designing characters for people, it makes me really happy that you'd like to use a design I made as a character of your own! I do requests because I like to give back to others, and I like to test my creative abilities. All I ask for is some basic communication and courtesy. Really, that shouldn't be too difficult!
