Where else to find me!
Posted 5 years agoIt may come as no surprise to anyone that I'm not all that active on FA (but I do pop in now and again to check things), but I AM super active on places like Instagram, Twitter, Patreon, Twitch, and even revived my old Tumblr account. Currently I am in the middle of building Pele puppet 2.0, so a lot of my posts are revolving around that, but do post other content as well.
Come find me in all the places if you want to see what I am working on:

Welcome to the ROARING 20s!
Posted 5 years agoJust doing a journal update to say that once again, I am VERY much alive and well! I made it into the new year without any hiccups or snags (helps that I didn't go out last night, so I was safe and sound at home), and hoping that 2020 turns out to be a fantastic year.
Now for a obligatory review of 2019:
- I adopted my cat Yin
- Spent time with friends and wish they all lived closer
- Attended two cons, one of which I vended
- Spent a good chunk of 2019 doing conprep (5 months)
- Designed a new square logo for Impistry
- Redid my whole site
- Upgraded the Impling pattern to now include cute lil nubbin' arms
- Debuted two new original creations: Muris (MerImps & MerImplings) and the Wix
- Finished and posted chapter 8 of Side Quest over on Tapas
- Finished thumbing the entirety of Chapter 9
- Started a Patreon for Side Quest
- Leveled up another year (birthday)
- Designed holiday postcards that went out to all sorts of folks <3
- Finished making the 500th Imp Things for 2020:
- Work on building Pele Puppet 2.0 (starting in the next day or two)
- Attending at least FWA, see where the rest of the year goes
- Do more with Side Quest to get back into the comic groove
- Taking the year off from selling in person, but will still be doing Impdoptions online
- Looking at FINALLY moving out and getting my own place (maybe buying?)
Overall I’m happy that I was able to do quite a lot in 2019, but I know that I hit my limit for a few things that I’m going to have to reevaluate going forward (namely my chronic health issues & my lack of spoons. Need to see what #2020NewYear holds before I make any decisions)

Updates, Anthro SouthEast 2019, FWA 2020
Posted 6 years agoSO! I know it has been a while since I updated on FA, last thing posted here was about FWA precon Impdoptions. Ended up only having three, but it was totally fun dropping little ones off to their new Impdopters and forever homes.
Not much has been going on with me besides doing conprep for Anthro SouthEast (I'll be in the den this year!). Pretty much I started Conprep on June 1st after taking the rest of May off to recoop from FWA, and JUST finished the last Wixling I needed for conprep TODAY; so it took 2 1/2 months to work my way through all of the Imps, Implings, Implets, MerImps, MerImplings, Wixling, and Wix I need for my booth.
Needless to say I'm feeling burnout right now, and I'm only half-way through what I need to make for ASE x_x . I'll be taking the next two days off before I jump back into the next portion of conprep on Wednesday starting with Charks. I'm seriously hoping I finish up all of my conprep by next month so I can have a nice little break, but I have until Mid-October to get everything done if I find I need to take things a little slower (going to try not to, but I have some breathing space should I need it).
I will say that with how I'm feeling right now, I won't be applying to deal at FWA for next year (or any cons really for 2020). The main reason for this is that coming from a health standpoint, I just can't keep going at the pace I have been trying to the last few months. I suffer from Chronic health issues that only have been getting worse as each year progresses, and pushing myself to try and keep on a tight schedule with minimal down time and days where I am simply resting and not burning all of my spoons to try and 'make' something on the daily to keep up with everthing on my TODO list. Pretty much I am at my breaking point and I really, really, REALLY need a long break after ASE conprep is said and done.
It sucks that I was really excited for the Enchanted Forest theme for FWA next year since it really does fit perfectly with what I make, but my health comes first. I'm still going to be attending FWA next year because I truly do enjoy the con (FWA 2008 was my first furcon ever, and I consider it my homecon since it is only like 2 hours away), but I will only be there as an attendee and not trying to peddle my Imply wears in the den. BTW, Precon Impdoptions will be a thing again though if anyone wants to have a little cutie hand delivered to you!
As far as what next year holds, I'm going to use it as a stock building year, Impdopt online through my site impistry.com , and try to take things a slower pace so that I can go into 2021 without having to mad dash to get a full table setup done and stocked in only a few months time (so yes, I DO plan on applying for the FWA 2021 DD in the hopes I can make it through the juried process and end up with a table again in the den).
One last side note: Pele will be handing out candy eggs next year at FWA, I just need to come up with a new costume for her to wear while handing them out. Also I have a few things waiting in the wings to be started once ASE is over, so be prepared for some fun stuff planned for next year's FWA :D (I'm making the most of taking a step back from dealing at cons to work on fun personal projects)

Almost last call for Precon Impdoptions for FWA 2019
Posted 6 years agoJust putting it out there that I will NOT be selling at FWA this year. If you were hoping to snag a new friend from me, the only way to do it is to look at my catalog of who is all currently available ( http://impistry.com/catalog/ ) and see if there is anyone who catches your attention. If you happen to spot one that you would like to take home, please contact me no later than Sunday May 5th about who all you would like to Impdopt (I'll be sending you an invoice which has to be paid no later than Tuesday May 7th for them to be delivered to you at con)
The catch about all of this is there is NO SHIPPING cost for hand delivery to FWA, so you end up saving money by picking them up personally from me :D!
I will not be bringing anyone with me besides those who already have a forever home, and will set up pickup times or get your contact info so that I can find you to drop off your little one to you (I will be at the main con hotel from Wednesday afternoon until Monday Morning).
Hope to see some of you at FWA!

The Imps & Crew will be going on an Impventure to Tennessee this fall to visit AnthroSouthEast and search for their forever homes :D!
Hope to see some of you at ASE this fall!

Happy New Year!
Posted 6 years agoMy goals for 2019 are pretty simple:
1) Continue working on my art - this includes finding a balance between my 2D and 3D works and stop hyperfocusing on just one type. This means no more trying to make content just so I have something to share daily. I spent the last 7 months of 2018 doing this, and while I'm proud of the progress I made from drawing daily, a lot of other things suffered because I didn't really allow myself to do other things due to a lack of creative spoons (I didn't really sew much for a good chunk of 2018, so there were not many Imps actually made)
2) Continue working on my mental health - Even though I don't talk about my mental health here, 2018 actually was far better in regards to working on this than 2017 had been. 2017 was a very, very dark year for me in regards of my chronic depression (which also affected my art), and 2018 was the start of me taking CBD oil and getting on a better path mentally. I'm hoping to continue this healthy mindset of a journey into 2019 and see how it helps me to flourish.
3) Give a kitty a forever home - The reason I have this one on my list is because I lost my 4 year old cat Rowan to a Saddle thrombus in November. If you do not know what that is (like I didn't before it happened), it pretty much is a blood clot that is kicked out by the heart due to an underlying and undetected heart condition that settles in between the back legs and cuts off all blood supply. This condition happened suddenly and without warning, and she went downhill super quickly in only a matter of 3 hours from when it happened, til the ER Vet pretty much told me that there was barely a 15% chance of survival once it happens (IF they are lucky enough to be in that low percentage), and I had to make a very quick and hard choice to let her go rather than allow her to suffer.
I was not prepared to lose Rowan at such a young age, and thought I had a good 10-15 more years with her in my life. Instead, life decided that her time with me was going to be far shorter than I would have liked, and I'm left with the memories of knowing that I gave her the best and most loved life that I could after recusing her 6 1/2 week old self from becoming just another life lost to fast moving cars (it was the best decision that I could have ever made to stop and retrieve her from the median on that busy road).
I miss my Squeaky little kitten (one of Rowan's nicknames) a great deal, and I feel that after 2 months I am ready to welcome another kitty into my life that I can shower with love and affection just like I used to do for Rowan.
So here's to a new year, and I hope that it turns out to be a positive one!

Waitlisted for FWA 2019
Posted 7 years agoWelp, I didn't make the cut to get into the DD for FWA 2019, and instead I'm on the waiting list. What this means is I really can't plan for a table, and I do not know if I am going to attempt the Artist Alley (I have too much stuff for such a small space, not to mention it is really hard on me to try and haul things back and forth every day).
What may end up happening if I do not get off the wait list is I may do prep-con Impdoptions to be hand delivered at FWA since I plan on attending regardless, but I not sure if I'll be bringing any Imps with me besides those who already have guaranteed homes.
Not going to lie, I'm kinda bummed (I planned on debuting the MerImps and the Wix next year if I snagged a table), but it is what it is, and all I can do is keep moving forward.

Back from FWA and ready for the High Seas!
Posted 7 years agoFirst off, hello to everyone who Impdopted from me this weekend! Thanks so much for enjoying what I make and for taking a little one home with you!
Now on to the rest of the journal!
Wow this past weekend was a whirlwind of just everything happening way too quickly. Spent most of it down in the DD, but that is pretty normal for me (I actually made it to a panel this year AND I got a few moments to walked the dealers floor \o/!), and then spent time with friends on top of trying to find homes for Imps and what not. So long as I don't develop concrud over the next few days, I should be opening up again around the 23rd of the month for commissions.
I will say the new display I got was way better than any other setup I tried in the past, and left me with far more space on my table to put things out and not have it feel overcrowded; so it was best investment ever. I have plans on expanding things for next FWA to finally include the Wix (and I may attempt to pattern out Muris as well while I'm at it), but we'll have to see if I make it into the DD again or if I don't make it past the juried process. If I DO make it in, I have a lot of fun things planned for next year's theme that I hope go over well (hehehe so many ideas!). If I don't make it in, well, I plan on attending anyway and may end up doing preorder/hand delivery of Imps for those needing a new little friend.
Overall I enjoyed my time dealing at FWA this year, the theme of the con was a fun one, and I hope next year I can make it to a few more panels.
Side note: I'm so happy Pele went over so well with everyone who saw her :D! There was an issue that popped up on Thursday night due to trying to pick up something heavier than I should have attempted with the puppet, but I'll be addressing that here in a bit so that it doesn't happen again. If you happened to have snapped any photos/video of my puppet, PLEASE share them with me! I'd love to see them <3
See you all next year for some High Seas Adventures (Pirates OMG)!!

Open for ONE Custom Imp for delivery @ FWA
Posted 7 years agoCurrently I am closed for normal commissions, but I am opening myself up for one Custom Imp, Impling, or Implet to be finished and hand delivered for FWA. If you are interested in getting a little cutie made just for you and are going to FWA, feel free to comment below or shoot me a note!
Impistry Telegram Chat
Posted 8 years agoI've started an Impistry Telegram chat for anyone who likes to use Telegram and would love a way to chat with other fans of Impistry. I'm going to be in there as well, and I'm more than happy to answer questions and what not if anyone has any. I also will be posting WIP stuff that may not make it to Social Media, AND it's a great to to find out who I have available for Impdoptions (as of right now, I won't be reopening my webstore until AFTER FWA in April, so this will be one of the few ways to get a cutie for now)
You can find the telegram chat over here: https://t.me/joinchat/D57lxg7tZxMosC_a6mGH0g

Surprise con!
Posted 8 years agoThanks to
null-pointer inviting me along, I'm going to be attending my first Fangcon next month :D (October 19-23rd)! I may be in the artist alley at some point during the con with Imps and Charks in tow, but not sure when that'll actually happen (I'm going to scout things out and see what there is to see. But if I do decide to set up shop, I'll post in the Fangcon telegram where to find me).
I'm HOPING to debut my Pele head at Fangcon, but we'll see if I can get her done in time (there are a few factors that prevents me from finishing the full partial in time, but I'm planning on having that finished in time for FWA next year). If I can't get her done, well, that is okay and I'll still have fun anyway :3!
If you are attending, let me know!

Impification commissions
Posted 8 years agoI just want to put it out there that I am 100% open for Impifications of characters if anyone is interested in that sort of thing (this includes badges or just digital art). Badges start at $40 (If you wanted it laminated and mailed to you, then the cost starts at $45).
If you are interested in a digital commission, single character sketches are $20, Flat Colored Sketch is $25, Lineart is $30, Flat color is $35, shaded is $40 (flat color and shaded come with a one color or patterned background). If you are wanting full shading with an actual painted background, that starts at $85 (and depending upon how complex you want to make it, the price may differ for each tier)

Fingers crossed worked!!
Posted 8 years agoYAY! I got my table for FWA 2018! This means I'll be back once again with tons of cute looking for find their forever homes :3
Fingers crossed!
Posted 8 years agoGoing to be attempting to snag a table for next FWA when they open up to this year's previous dealers tomorrow at noon. There are apparently only 30 tables being opened, so it's going to be a mad dash in the morning to try and get them before they fill up.
FINGERS CROSSED SO HARD RIGHT NOW, I REALLY WANT TO BE BACK FOR NEXT YEAR (made a doodle in the hopes of it bringing me good luck https://68.media.tumblr.com/88c187c.....sc4te0_540.png )

FWA 2017 IMPformation!
Posted 8 years agoJust wanted to update anyone who is interested about stuff related to FWA this year:
Firstly, I'm going to be in space #71 in the DD http://www.ezimba.com/work/170123C/.....0584427100.png (come find me if you are going!!)
Secondly, I am currently working on Imps right now, so I'll have new OOAK little ones for you to Impdopt. I'm also going to be working on Implings, Implets, and Charks over the next 2 months.
Thirdly, I plan on introducing a few new things this go around; Namely Imp-sized Hoodies/cloaks/hats, a new floppy style Chark (both Regular and Nebula), and some really cute soft charms.
JUST so you are aware of the Imdoption fees/Prices (Imps ALWAYS come with a certificate of Impdoption and everyone will come with a free button):
Imps are $45
Implings are $30
Implets are $35
Regular Charks are $40 (I only have a few left in this style and will not be making them in the future)
Regular Floppy Charks are $50
Nebula Floppies are $60 (custom printed Nebula minky)
Softie charms will be $5
Imp Hoodies (Regular and costume), cloaks, and hats/hoods prices have not been determined yet because I have not made them and need to see how much work goes into each and price accordingly (there will be a con discount if you Impdopt at the same time). I should know more into the end of February/begging of March and will make an update once I know more.
IF you are curious as to what I am making/bringing this year, you can follow my progress over on tumblr https://impistry.tumblr.com/ or IG https://www.instagram.com/impistry/ (highly suggested that you follow me so you can keep an eye on what I'm up to)
Firstly, I'm going to be in space #71 in the DD http://www.ezimba.com/work/170123C/.....0584427100.png (come find me if you are going!!)

FWA 2017 - Main con hotel looking for 1-2 roomies
Posted 9 years agoSOOOOOO I know this is a little early, but I am putting out the call for 1-2 roomies in the MAIN hotel for FWA 2017 (Check-in April 6th after 2pm, and Checkout on April 9th BEFORE noon). There is one shared bed space and one floor space available at this time (there are already 3 of us in the room). If you are planning on going and want to snag a spot early, let me know (With 4 people the room it is $129.61 per person, and 5 people is $103.75 per person)!
Just a reminder: the room is a no-party room that tries to remain respectful of all those staying in there (myself and two others in the room normally sell during the con, so we use the room as a place to decompress and unwind after the day is done).

Back from FWA
Posted 9 years agoWell I got back on Sunday, but I am still recovering from the weekend itself. SO, I will say that this was my BEST FWA to date, and I will totally be back next year with even MORE Imps/Implings/Implets, Charks, and Crays to hopefully find homes. Once I actually recover from the long weekend, I'll be listing those who did not find homes up on http://impistry.etsy.com , patterning out the Crays, and waiting on the Space print minky to arrive from Spoonflower so that I can start making some Nebula Charks to go into my shop.
So tired, but this weekend was SOOOOO worth it!

Update on FWA stuff
Posted 9 years agoJust putting this out there that I WILL be in the Dealers Den for FWA 2016 \o/!
So far I plan on bringing:
15 Imps
15 Implings
15 Implets
15-20 Charks http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19078614/
Prints
Buttons
Greeting Cards
Cell Phone Charms
And I'm sure there may be a few other things added (depending upon how last minute con prep goes), but for now that is the main list of what I want to bring with me to offer at the con. The Implets are something new that came about last year (they are truely pocket sized), and the Charks are BRAND new & I will be debuting at FWA for the first time in person.
So yeah, I'm super excited to see everyone, and I'm going to make up for missing out on last year (I only went for one day instead of the whole weekend)! Once I find out where I'll be in the DD, I'll post more information on how to find me.
Also: THIS WILL BE MY 8TH FWA!! LUFF ALL YOU GUYS!!

Con prep update
Posted 9 years agoThis is more for myself than for anyone else, but I’m posting it here so I don’t forget
So far I have ready to go:
11 Imps
4 Implings
8 Implets
Imp Prints & Cards
Imps: I want to have at LEAST 15 of each of the Imps/Implings/Implets. Hoping to have more, we’ll see where I sit by the middle of Feb cause that is my Imp making deadline for myself. Already have Imp prints and cards ready to go
Charks: I don’t know how many Charks to actually make/bring to FWA (not sure where to price these guys either). ALSO planning on making a few winged Charks just because I think it’s a cute idea (so instead of arm fins, they have wing arms). Going to be having minky for sure, may also make some fleece ones depending upon time (If you don't know what a chark is, http://impistry.tumblr.com/search/charks or http://www.furaffinity.net/view/18932242/ )
Other stuff: I need to make Impistry buttons (I have them already printed, I just need to cut them out and make the buttons), AND I want to design some merit badges for the con. Debating between embroidered patches OR buttons. Or I may do both, but have a limited number of actual embroidered patches.

Anyone going to FWA 2016?
Posted 9 years agoLike the title asks, anyone planning on attending this year?
I'm going to be attending all days of the con, just not sure if I'll be in the DD or in the AA (pretty much the DD sold out SUPER fast, and by the time I realized tables were open, they were already full, so I'm waitlisted and have no CLUE where I'm at on the list :/ ). Regardless of where I'll be, I WILL be bringing Imps with me (along with Implings, Implets, AND something new I like to call Charks; a.k.a Chibi Sharks).

Imps at FWA 2015
Posted 10 years agoNormally I attend FWA every year to sell and try to find Imps homes. This year, however, I can only attend one day, and that day is going to be Sunday, the 12th of April (last day of the con) unless something happens and I can’t go at all.
NOW, what this means is I'll be putting up a lineup picture of all I Imps I have currently finished on the 3rd of April for anyone wanting to possible claim one and pick them up at FWA while I am there. This open claim period will be available until the 6th, and then by that point anyone who gets claimed will be coming with me (and I'll be getting contact info from those who are going to be Impdopting so I can find you when I get there/you can come find me), and everyone else will be going to a separate event going on the same weekend (someone else will be taking them for me).
So to repeat the plan: Imps will be put up for open claiming on the 3rd of April and the claim period will be closing on the 6th of April. Anyone who is be claimed will be coming with me on the 12th for in-person pickup. Impdoption fee for Imps is still only $40, & Implings are $25, and there is no charge for s/h since this is a planned trip and I will be there in person (So you save $8 on shipping because the creator is going to be there in person).
If you are claiming an Imp, please be prepared to pay at least half of the Impdoption fee up front via Paypal to reserve your Imp/Impling. And I will be requiring contact information so I can text you when I get there and can meet up accordingly / can exchange the second half of the Impdoption fee.
Now if you wish to pay the whole amount up front (which is the smartest option), that is fine since I know some people by the last day of the con tend to be tapped out and this way you can just claim your Imp and not have to worry about having the funds on hand at the time of exchange.
If for some reason we can not seem to meet up at FWA, you will still be able to receive your Imp after the fact, but you will be required to pay the rest of the Impdoption fee and the s/h fee to have them mailed to you.
And as an added bonus: Those who Impdopt for FWA will also be getting a special thank you on top of your Imp :3.
