Posted 2 months agoi wanna say it's been a tough 5 years...it feels like i've been slacking off but...in reality i've been honestly been...distracted.
i really do hope people are doing well. i REALLY hate watching people suffer as it seems like things around me deteriorate by the day. i have my happy moments, and i have my sad moments
the world frustrates me
i REALLY hate seeing people suffer that it drives me emotionally mad at the state of things
i'm still making new friends though
and making new memories for everyone that interacts with me
i try to help when i can
but sometimes you...gotta know your limit.
but you know...i'm still here. i can still walk, i can still talk, i have a infectious laugh lol, i have my energetic moments for better or worse 💀, i am sleepy, but i can still wake up in the morning.

my close friend dies on me in 2021 just suddenly

i got a chance to finally go to a bigger furry convention, and meet such a good friend
i had to move out of a toxic situation with my close irl friend that was my roommate

Posted 6 months agoMicrosoft designer Vincent Connare began working on Comic Sans in 1994 after having already created other fonts for various applications. When he saw a beta version of Microsoft Bob that used Times New Roman in the word balloons of its cartoon characters, he believed the typeface gave the software an overly formal appearance. He believed this was inappropriate for the aesthetics of the program, which was created to introduce younger users to computers. my art block is still kicking my butt right now as i've been focusing on trying to better myself in other ways. i've gotten a better job since 2023, but stress levels have still been high for the most part as i am still dealing with family / friend / life drama, and just honestly trying to manage it all at the same time. i've been gaming more which i'm thankful that i have been gaming *being the derg with games* i've been doing texture work as well for vrchat *in case you wanna say hi here's my link: https://vrchat.com/home/user/usr_4d.....e-17fa08fa7d97 *

yeah...it's been a while guys...and it's been a ride from when i posted the september journal to now...so bare with me as i get caught up in everything.
so i think last time i rambled about getting a job somewhere...well that job made me work 50+ hour weeks at a time, and i really underestimated my energy levels throughout the time i *and still am* working at this job. as things start to slow down i'm starting to regain my energy to draw again.
on november of last year, one of my closest friends i grew up with died at the age of 26. it really messed me up for a while, as he was gone too soon. i wished i was able to spend more time with him while he was alive too...but same time...i'm glad i was able to make a impact on his life...i also lost my car too due to a car accident at the time too as i've been scrambling for money still between then and now. i also got covid around christmas time as i had to take my 401k from my previous job in order to stay afloat. so throughout all that hustling and bussling i...just got so out of touch of everything that my art greatly suffered for it.
i do deeply apologize for those who've been waiting for a while to get their commission. i'm back in the boat now trying to get the ball rolling again. for those who has gotten a commission off of me, if you want to talk about commission deets that you'd like changed or even a refund i would be willing to talk and work with you on that process. otherwise going forward i'll limit my commissions in the future once i open up again. commissions are closed rn until i can get my queue cleared. more likely what will happen is that i'll redraw/rework the commissions that i owe and go from there.

so life update:
i did get a full time job finally...as i won't get paid until the end of the week...it's a 14 a hour job, it's actually the most normal job i had so far...despite it being factory assembly work. and i get paid weekly. i just gotta survive for one more week and then i'm set to be stable and help out the community when i can.

so i was let go from my pevious job on july 29th, 2021, and since then i've been focusing on trying to find a different job while taking commissions on the side. i did get some commissions, and some financial help which i'm very thankful for so far, thank you guys...really so far. so far though the job hunt has been brutal so far, but eventually i settled on a geocery store job as of 9/10/2021 so far...it's only part time, and they'll only employ me for 20 hours a week as i'm trying to find a better job or another job in the meanwhile.
in the meanwhile since i got the job at the time i did get it, i won't get paid until october 8th, which that's after all of my bills are due. so...i'm scrambling to try to get financial help. i've tried 211...(going to try again tomorrow) as they referred me to a couple of sources as those sources won't pay for my internet for example...but might pay for rent and electricity if...i'll have to file at the last minute. i could ask for a loan family wise but with my job situation i...don't think i can keep up.
so that's my situation...i'm really scared...as everything's mostly due on the 1st of october. so...donations would be nice...but like i said: commissions are open as well:

Posted 4 years agoso I've turned 28 today...I just didn't imagine I would be in the situation that I am in currently...
I have lost my job towards the end of July. granted I needed to get out of that place anyways for reasons I will not state in this post, but the journey towards bettering myself has been quite the difficult one.
I've been out of the job for 2 weeks now. throughout those 2 weeks, I've applied for about 20-30ish jobs, applied for unemployment, and recently been applying for other help programs out there in my state. so far I've been either declined, no response, or things are still pending. though this time around I'll admit: I'm being picky about my next job. I admittedly don't want to work retail or fast food anymore as I've worked those types of jobs for years now...and I want to move onto something more relevant to my skills and interests. though as the weeks drag on by...I get more and more tempted to get back into the trenches of retail...it really sucks. doesn't help either that I've school I still need to finish and figure out professionally what I want to do.
My original plan was to get my degree in computer game design, then get a side job in the meanwhile hopefully either in computers or design, and then come up with a game plan from there. I guess throughout that time I didn't get specific enough on that decision. I'm still confident though that I can get a job around my field out there. if someone could get a programming job with a music degree, then damn it I can get a job anywhere...I just gotta work for it.
my emotional health has been...bad these last couple of weeks... I'll admit it. i...sleep until noon. I wake up feeling lethargic and defeated, and I let that momentum kind of ruin my days so far. i...need to be more positive with myself...and it's not all doom and gloom either. I've enough money to last me until the end of September if worst came to worst. so i...still got a bit of time. foodwise i...could be worse...but I wonder if it's going to last me until the end of September as well...I've been getting side money here and there too (and for those who've commissioned me so far...thank you so much ;_; ) so...it's not the end yet...
if I can ask for anything for my birthday rn...it's at least moral support rn...as I don't know where this train will take me. I just hope I can laugh at this situation in the future and...hopefully be at a better place

I've been out of the job for 2 weeks now. throughout those 2 weeks, I've applied for about 20-30ish jobs, applied for unemployment, and recently been applying for other help programs out there in my state. so far I've been either declined, no response, or things are still pending. though this time around I'll admit: I'm being picky about my next job. I admittedly don't want to work retail or fast food anymore as I've worked those types of jobs for years now...and I want to move onto something more relevant to my skills and interests. though as the weeks drag on by...I get more and more tempted to get back into the trenches of retail...it really sucks. doesn't help either that I've school I still need to finish and figure out professionally what I want to do.
My original plan was to get my degree in computer game design, then get a side job in the meanwhile hopefully either in computers or design, and then come up with a game plan from there. I guess throughout that time I didn't get specific enough on that decision. I'm still confident though that I can get a job around my field out there. if someone could get a programming job with a music degree, then damn it I can get a job anywhere...I just gotta work for it.
my emotional health has been...bad these last couple of weeks... I'll admit it. i...sleep until noon. I wake up feeling lethargic and defeated, and I let that momentum kind of ruin my days so far. i...need to be more positive with myself...and it's not all doom and gloom either. I've enough money to last me until the end of September if worst came to worst. so i...still got a bit of time. foodwise i...could be worse...but I wonder if it's going to last me until the end of September as well...I've been getting side money here and there too (and for those who've commissioned me so far...thank you so much ;_; ) so...it's not the end yet...
if I can ask for anything for my birthday rn...it's at least moral support rn...as I don't know where this train will take me. I just hope I can laugh at this situation in the future and...hopefully be at a better place

retrospective time
Posted 5 years agoi have been doing fine throughout the year. though that does not mean that it has been an easy ride. for starters, i was caught off guard by how difficult online classes can be, especially when the switch happened mid semester. granted i could have used my time more efficiently, but regardless, mistakes were made, as going forward into the new year, I hope to conquer my classes and graduate in 2021. One of my professors passed away due to losing the battle with cancer as well. i REALLY hope the family is doing well as he truly was a great guy...i wish the game design curriculum well too with the new team of professors.
before the pandemic started i've hosted the first "fur meet" in a long time apparently in south dakota. as a fur meet is when like minded furries come together to hang out and express themselves whenever it's dressing up in costume or just being creative in terms of art and literature. the most interesting part of hosting one was the whole social aspect of it as there were people from all sorts of different backgrounds. I was surprised people drove a long way for this meet too...as the numbers were a bit small, but controlled at least. to be honest i wished i had more time to foster this community if it wern't for work and school getting in the way. it has been a challenge since then to try to rally people up for online meets or whynot.
this year is where i've discovered vr as well. as a friend try introducing me to vrchat so that i can work on being "more social"...now have i gotten better socially because of vrchat? who knows, but i know i want to thank the people i have meet in vrchat for helping me get through this wacky year.
competitive smash has definitely been put in the back of my priorities admittedly, but it is not like i still do not care about the scene at all. i still compete when i find the time...and despite ultimate's bad net code i've been still been...at least trying to be up to snuff with ultimate and melee, especially when melee has rollback netcode now which is so SMOOTH FEELING GOOD GOD NINTENDO what are you doing with the scene right now...

though i have been using what i have learned from the smash scene to help the furry scene grow as well. it is amazing just how things kind of click together...
this year i have been more active as an artist as well. it's shocking how little i actually finished artwork in the previous years as i nearly doubled my production which is awesome. i hope in the next year i can be as productive if not more so.
so overall...2020 is the absolute "big booty" between covid and a lot of other issues going on. but I wouldn't say the year has been wasted either.

i admittedly got so sidetracked visiting family and working on my full time job. i didn't mean to go on such a haitus this month especially on october...the tf month! @___@;... i'll try to get a tf out before the month is over...reguardless, between that, getting my fursuit head refubished *which i'll show a picture this friday maybe...stay tuned*...did i tell you that i got a new pc practically? yea! new processor, graphics card...the works! only thing that isn't new is the hard drives still in it.
otherwise in terms of the tf sale there's still one slot left...but otherwise after that slot i might close down commissions for now until i get caught up, i plan on getting them done before the end of the year because i'm still in college, and my classes are going to be hard going into the spring semester. so wish me luck on that.

Posted 5 years agoso...i guess sorry for slowing down on the drawing guys. i've been partipating in a smash crews battle tournament that my state's hosting. and i guess just in general i've been so stressed out to the point where it's been hard to gather my energy, especially when my current job has been sucking a lot of my energy as of late. so i do appologize.
otherwise i've been manging myself financially pretty well...as i've been trying to support the art community when i can. i unfountually had to get new tires on all 4 wheels of my car, and buy my dad a birthday present which is why i'm...just kind of tight going into my bith month happening next month XD...
man half the year's already gone and 2020 has been quite a shit show @___@....at least with my other job i've security knowing they'll need me even though i'm putting myself in danger and the fact that people in unemployment are making more then me <____<....as i currently work at sam's club, and to be honest, i wish i was working at a job more of my field then just retail atm XD....but i guess it is what it is as i'm making do with what i got.

yea my last semester just started as already i have a handful of stuff on my plate as i'm taking classes part-time *+ 1 silly credit* and at work full time. most likely i'll be focusing on that. due to financial situations being tight again i'll be taking commissions as well...but only very lightly as tbh....i'd like to be done with school so i can focus on my life going forward from here and not be stuck on some retail job with a lot of debt to pay off @___@;...but regardless...
worse case i'll be taking 2-4 slots depending on how complex the projects are. so again commission info is here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/31109050/ *though i need to update it with more current work as previews*...otherwise it seems like Wednesdays might be my most free days as well...so i'll try to see if i can sneak a stream here and there...
