October Commission Update
Posted 10 hours agoNormally I try to respond on the commission cut off day, however I got my flu and covid booster yesterday and it has fully kicked that shit out of me. I am still recovering, in a lot of discomfort, so there will be a slight delay on my responses. I'm really sorry. But if anyone is still interested in a commission, because of the delay I'm extending the openings by a couple days until I'm back to 100%, so feel free to poke me if you're wanting a commission still. I will try to respond and get things ready as soon as I can, thank you for your patience.

Thank you for the support
Posted 4 months agoI just want to post a journal to thank everyone for the support on my last journal. You all absolutely overwhelmed me with your interest and generosity and support. All the nice comments and message I've received have really boosted my mood. Things are still stressful and in chaos here and will be for a little while, but I'm feeling much more hopeful thanks to all of you.
There are so many commission offers that I am extremely excited to pursue, but if I took all of them at once that would be entirely irresponsible, so I will do my usual thing of take 3 at a time but try to manage myself a bit better by taking some big and some smaller commissions to help pace myself. If you have made a commission offer I will be trying to get quotes out and stuff Tuesday and in the meantime you may hear from me early if I have some questions or need more details.

Emergency Commissions / House Repairs

To catch folks up on where I've been and why I haven't offered commissions the last couple months. In April I took a bunch of larger commissions and was very excited about a lot of the offers I'd gotten so I decided to take a lot of them and stretch them through April and May. I did not do a good job pacing my selections so they all took a bit longer then I expected between those and patreon work. I also spent a lot of time getting ready for my bf visiting in June. This was a big deal for a lot of reasons, the big one being that we hadn't seen each other in a long time and the vacation turned out great. It was basically perfect from beginning to end. Wouldn't change it for the world. I was feeling super refreshed and excited to get back to commissions and subscriber art and streaming.
On the last full day they were there we noticed the hot water was a little murky, I looked it up and it was indication that the tank should be replaced. So I was keeping an eye on it and after a little bit the hot water started running clear again. So I booked a consultation with a couple plumbers/water tank companies to come take a look the next day. The next day I took my bf to the airport, and as I'm sure anyone in a LDR can attest, the goodbye days are rough already emotionally. So I went home, got the consultation, guy came, checked things, still all seemed fine and dry and he gave me a real rough quote. The tank is a weird and very specific size so it needs to be special ordered and will probably be around 2k. So they left and I talked another company and they had a similar quote but both were not set in stone because of the special order, and said they'd get back to me the next day (Friday/Today) with the final price and schedule options etc. Tonight around 3:00-3:30AM less than 24 hours after I had to say goodbye to my bf, and less than 12 hours after getting TWO consultations about replacing my hot water tank, it burst. I was (fortunately) awake at the time, so I think I caught it fairly quickly but there was still a lot of water that I couldn't clean up and it leaked a ton and caused some serious damage to my neighbors place and a little to mine.
Several months ago, some of my neighbors had had issues with their hot water tank, it caused them a bunch of problems and they had to leave their home for months for it to be repaired. My hot water tank was well passed the life expectancy so I'd been saving up what I could to replace it, but $2,250 is a ton to drop suddenly, and that's JUST for the tank replacement. I now will also have to figure out how much damages cost when they come to do repairs (hopefully) Monday.
I hope it's not extensive, but it's possible I have to leave my house for an extended period of time. I have insurance but I don't know how much or if they'll cover any of this damage. Point is, I'm very scared and stressed and all the recharging and energy I'd gained from my vacation has been fully shot and expended all in the course of like 18 hours.
Because of the time off, commission delays and now this HUGE expense, I need to make quite a bit of extra money over the next couple months. So I'm opening some emergency commissions, I'm going to be taking as many as I can comfortably, and any tips on them would be hugely, hugely appreciate but is not expected. PSA - Conditional DNP on E621
Posted 11 months agoTo anyone who has uploaded or attempted to upload my art (or any other artists art) to E621. Please do not do this. Especially do not do this for ANY verified artists on the conditional DNP list. That list exists so that those artists can upload their art themselves should they see fit. What happens when you attempt to upload it is it will be flagged as my art and be "removed" however, it remains in the E621 database, so even though it's not publicly visible it's still been flagged. That means when I try to upload it, it fails because that piece got flagged by someone else trying to post it, which means I can't upload my own art. So now I have to edit a single pixel so that it won't get flagged. Which isn't hard or hugely time consuming but it is extremely annoying when I already don't particularly want to post my art their to begin with, which means I might just not upload stuff their at all.
I realize people probably do this do spread the work of artists they enjoy, and while that's sweet there are other ways to do this. Get on Bluesky and repost their art from their accounts. Twitter is getting more and more anti artist and human with every passing day, but even retweeting there is a good way to do it. Don't post their art on your account, repost from the artist's account. And if you really want to post their content on a board like E621, just ask the artist first. I don't always respond to comments, but I do read all of them and try to respond when my social battery isn't drained.

Posted a year agoI just wanted to apologize and notify folks that commissions are currently suffering from major delays. I have a terrible case of the flu and have been entirely unable to function for several days now. I hope things will improve soon, but there hasn't been much sign of recovery at the moment. November Commissions
Posted 2 years agoOpening up for commissions. Things will be a bit different this month because I'll be travelling near the end of the month, so I'll be taking commissions throughout the month as I can until I leave. I'll start accepting commissions on November 3rd. I only have a couple weeks to work on commissions this month, but I'll do my best to finish anything I accept before I leave, which will be in time for MFF so if you have anything you'd like for MFF, now is the time to submit a request. As always I can only take a few commissions at a time, and these aren't first come first served.
For December, because of travel plans I won't be taking December commissions until later in the month. So if you have plans or would like to get Christmas / gift commissions try to get in now, because I can't guarantee I'll be able to finish any December commissions on time for Christmas.
