I wanted to make a quick journal just letting folks know I am slowly returning to a regular work schedule. Although the last few weeks have been hard, it is slowly getting better. I can think about Nikota and look at pictures of him again without feeling an overwhelming sadness, at least not all the time, anyway. I will love and miss him always, but it's good to feel like the healing has started.

I very much appreciate you all for your patience, understanding and kind words. Even if I didn't have the heart to reply to all your messages, I want you all to know I read every one and deeply appreciate them. <3

I need to get myself back on track for work, both so folks don't need to keep waiting for updates and so I can start making an income again since I basically made nothing this month, plus I have a heap of vet bills I need to cover. I'll try to get updates to everyone within the next couple weeks, so please bare with me a bit longer ^^'

I wouldn't mind squeezing a sketch commission into my queue just to bring in a little more money this month, so if anyone wants to grab that, let me know!
And I hate to mention it, honestly, but if anyone wanted to give me a buck or two via my Tip Jar/Shinies/Whatever, it would greatly help right now.

That title sounds alot dumber than the situation is. My cat of nearly 18 years has taken a turn for the worse. Not eating on his own, jaundiced, weak, nausea... today the tests showed that the mass the vet felt yesterday appears to be pancreatic cancer, and possibly spreading to the lymph nodes. We can make him comfortable by shrinking the mass with steroids to help his appetite and his pain, giving him anti-nausea meds and also painkillers, but there isn't any options for chemo with this cancer, plus he was already an old cat who probably didn't have the strength to endure treatment like that to begin with. He is dying. My Nikota is dying and I can't function much beyond giving him his meds, syringe feeding him fluids and food, comforting him, thinking about him and crying.

I'm broken for now. I'll be okay eventually and put myself back together, but for now I am focused mainly on making him comfortable as much as possible and figuring out when the best time is to have a vet come to our home and end things. I think at least for this week I should not be active with commissions. I apologize for the delays, but I'm also sure you guyscan understand. This cat has been with me since he was born. He has been a constant companion in my life longer than even my fiance. We are both devastated by this news. I appreciate everyone's patience while we process this.

At the airport ready for my adventure in Orlando, FL. And as I sit here I wanted to ask you guys...

Any less known cool things to try or check out in Orlando or close to?

Obviously we will do a bit of Disney and Universal and we might check out Daytona beach, but I want to know what other suggestions folks might have. As much as parks are fun, I don't want to just do all cliche tourist stuff if I can. I might like to see Crystal River and see the manatees, too. I was thinking of Discovery Cove but the prices for a day pass is obscene (so is Disney and Universal, to be fair), so we might cut that out because I'm trying not to go into debt on this trip ^.^'

So I have been mulling over making a strictly SFW alternate account for any watchers that really only are interested in the clean stuff. It will also serve as a clean portfolio I can use, since this account is, understandably, too risque to use in most circumstances.
I think I'll finally get around to starting that soon. Sure, it probably won't get the same traffic I get here, but I think it'll be worth the effort. ^^

On a totally unrelated note: Just a heads up that I'll be away for a week at the beginning of March and unable to do work or send updates. I'll still be able to check messages periodically in case folks want/need to get ahold of me, though.
My mother planned a trip to Florida a year ago and it's nearly time to go. I'm both excited and anxious. It will be nice to spend some quality time with my family (mother, brother, brother's girlfriend, cousin and my fiance) and the fun attractions will be a real treat. But I am also easily exhausted spending time around people, family included, so a week in the same living space will probably prove trying at times. It is also a huge expense with flights, rentals, attraction tickets, food, pet sitters, etc. Honestly it has been tough setting the money aside for this trip, but my mother really wanted me to go with her, so I scrounged up enough to make it happen with some help from my wonderful man. Fingers crossed the trip is a lot more Pro then Con ^^'

Next trip I save this sort of money for is definitely going to be a destination for me, though. Japan, here I come <3 (Eventually ^.^')

So as much as I had intended to do a normal work week this week, it has not gone that way. -_-
A fun weekend of friends and gatherings and celebrations ended with me catching a hacky coughy mess of a thing. So I have been a bit laid up most of the week. Nothing too terrible, just no energy, sleeping all day and a dumb painful cough. I'm mostly better now, but I haven't had much energy or focus to do work. I know you all are patient folks, but wanted to give the heads up.
I'll try and fit a bit of work in before new years, but I'll probably be mostly busy with the usual holiday hussle. Anyone with a more holiday themed image, I'll prioritize getting you updates first, whenever I get back to drawing.

SO! Paypal has really been sending up red flags of late, as you may be aware, and it's last threat to it's users was the final straw. I am actively shopping around for an alternative payment platform, maybe even two just to be widely available.
I really want to avoid putting any of you out or causing any inconvenience when it comes to hiring me for a commission, so I want to get as many opinions as possible on what alternate payment platforms you might be using on FA or what you think is the most common. I honestly would like to yeet off PayPal completely, both to make a statement and to keep myself safe from any bullsh*ttery that may come from them in the future, but for now, if people really don't have another means to do business with me, I will work with you through PP, but I would like to eventually get off of it completely.

Please share any recommendations you have so far! I have mostly been peeking at Stripe and Wise, but the options are a bit overwhelming, so any help you folks can provide is GREATLY appreciated!

My time off was quite refreshing, for the most part. I am dusting off the lazy cobwebs this week, but work has resumed and updates are starting to get done. I won't be getting to all the new sketches this week, but I'll try to get everyone updates soon :)

As many of you might recall, I was out of commission (pun intended) last week due to a severe ear infection that left me in terrible pain and unable to work. In the end I had to go to the doctor to get prescription drops and strong pain pills, but thanks to them I am doing much better. :)
My ear is still feeling a bit off and I can't hear fully out of it yet, but compared to how I was earlier last week, I can't complain. Hopefully I'll be 100% very soon.
I should be resuming normal work this week, so i'll get updates to people where I can. Thank you all for your patience and understanding!

PS: I super appreciated all who sent well wishes and other comments! I was just not feeling up to replying to them all, but I read and love them all :)

Loxxy got herself a very painful ear infection over the weekend. It's all across my jaw and head on the infected side. I can barely open my mouth up enough to eat and pain pills hardly do anything. I am in too much pain to do any work, but hopefully the drops I got from the pharmacy this morning will help and I can resume working in a couple days.
Sorry for any inconvenience, guys! I never have ear infections, so this really sucks :'(

My uncle just passed away today from a very sudden (and admittedly suspicious) onset of ALS. He was fine until only perhaps about 2 months ago. But right after recieving a certain unrelated medical treatment, his health rapidly began to deteriorate. They gave him 5 months.... he didn't even get 1 after his diagnosis.
I am so.... So angry. And sad. Maybe it was all just coincidence, but I have trouble believing it. But as I don't like to bring politics or controversial opinions into this place, I will leave it at that. But please understand I might not be around much for at least a couple days. I greatly apoligize for any inconvenience this causes and will try to get back to work when I can. I just.... I have already been feeling more and more trapped and depressed with the state of things.... and this just was a huge reminder of it all. And I have so much anger building in me that I can't seem to let go of. That's not a part of me I want to admit to, but it's so tangible, I can't ignore it right now. My uncle was an intelligent and kind man who never got caught up in my family's bullshit. He always treated me more fairly than any of my actual feuding blood relatives. And now he's gone. Far sooner than I believe he was supposed to be.And I'm not even sure if I'll be allowed to be at the funeral. I'll miss him and I'll always wonder just how preventable it all could have been.

Just a quick Canadian Sorry for being kinda extra slow the last couple weeks. I've been doing a lot of irl errands which cut into my work time, one of which is our kitties needing some Vet appointments. Nothing serious, though one of them may need some expensive dental surgery done soon, so that's going to be fun to cough up cash for 😅😐😬

It's my birthday today, folks! I'll be taking today off to enjoy, but i should resume tomorrow and get some sketch updates out to peeple. Not that i can do much from the confines of my home, but i'm still going to enjoy this day best i can.

Just wanted to let you guys know :)

So yeah, the world is going a bit crazy right now, as I'm sure you are all aware. Our province is going into a state of emergency as of today, despite only 2 definite cases, But I guess I would rather us be safe than sorry. So far we are doing alright here and no one has gotten so much as a sniffle. Naturally I adjusted to the self quarantine/social distancing stuff real easy since I already am an introverted hermit that works from home ;] but I am starting to find all the news is starting to really affect my ability to get in the right mindset to work/create effectively (A common issue with my work). I am still working, but I'm struggling at times to create anything I'm happy with, so please show me your gracious patience as we all work through and adjust to the current state of affairs in the world. I care about keeping you all updated regularly, but I also have to try and keep my focus on my mental and physical health, too. As should we all right now.

Anyway, it's late and I'm sleepy, but I just wanted to let you all know that I may be a bit slower with updates for a bit. I know you've heard this a billion times by now, but everyone please be safe, wash your hands and keep your distance from others. Stay safe and healthy, everyone <3

Sorry for the long vacation. I decided to take a full 2 weeks off to recharge. I got sick half way through last week and am still deep in a head cold, unfortunately. But i intend to start up work again today/tomorrow regardless of sickness, so anyone expecting sketch updates should hopefully get one this week at some point.

Thanks everyone for your patience. Other than getting sick, it was a really lovely time off and i feel more or less recharged. :) hope you all had a great holiday break, as well.

I'm sure this is expected, but don't expect much updates from me in the next week or so. I'll be either busy with holiday meets and celebrations or taking some time for a small break to recoup my energies. Been mulling over talking about this to anyone for a long time, but i think i would like some opinuons from others.

I am visiting my family doctor in a couple days to ask about hormone testing. I suspect i may have an imbalance and want to get tested, or whatever they need to do to find out. I have several possible issues related to hormone imbalance... but the one that has been at the forefront of my mind is... having basically no sex drive. I'm already feeling really weird about saying anything. It's something i've not told anyone but my partner, and it took me a long time to even tell him. It's something i've always experienced. Even as a teenager, i really didn't have an interest in sex. I don't know if it's a hormone issue or maybe I'm Asexual, but i want to find out. If i can fix the problem, i want to. This is certainly not to say anything against Asexuals, it's just that i personally would like to have a more traditionally healthy sex drive, both for me and my partner's happiness. If i'm Asexual, then i can accept that, but i want to explore my options as to what might be causing this before i accept that it's just sexuality.

My big issue is simply knowing which it is, a sexuality or a hormone imbalance. Has anyone else ever gone through a similar situation that could give me some advice? My new family doctor seems to be more hollistic, rather than ordering tests or writing prescriptions, so i fear i will have a hard time explaining what i want to him. It seems everytime i have asked about help for issues in the past(like frequent headaches/migraines), he will simply say i should eat different foods and/or do more excercise. I believe this isn't necessarily bad advice, but it feels like he brushes away problems as simply life style choices. I just feel like my doctor doesn't really care about my concerns and i am really nervouse thinking about what I need to talk to him about. I don't really even know how i'm going to start the conversation. I feel like if i don't have a plan marked out before i go in, he won't take me seriously. If anyone wants to offer any help or advice, I'm all ears. I just feel lost a bit with all of this, and I don't really know who to turn to. But you guys always seem like a wonderful group here on FA, so this seemed like my best bet...

Just want to give you all a heads up that i'm on a little vacation right now at my favorit cabin by the ocean. Been looking forward to this for months. :)
I won't be back till sometime wednesday, so probably won't be any sketch updates this week. Sorry for those who are waiting on them.
I'll resume work by thursday, though, so i'll atleast get some coloring done.
