Califur The First Day!!!
General | Posted 16 years agoWell, its my very first Furcon ever and since I can't go and give big long reviews and have long winded journals I'll try and give what I can. I am having a blast! Been laughing all day and ahhhh.... the beds are so nice and soft.
Couple screwups though... if you have a discounted room like we do, half of the stuff doesn't work how its supposed to... shower isn't fully operational where the whole flow is going to the shower head... but the biggest thing is they charged us for parking... thats 32 dollars for 2 nights... insane. but we get our room for 200 total instead of 250 after parking, so suppose its alright. My tag too that I paid for, the nice metallic tags that alot of people have been getting they can't seem to locate mine, (nor a lot of others) so I'm kinda upset with that... but I do plan on getting some comissions done while I am here.
Other than that though, even waiting in like to get our badges, I was smiling and laughing and having a good time with those around me. The small discussion about table RPG's that seem to be a dying breed, I listened to tons of senarios that just had entire rooms howling with laughter... And well listening to the Ranting Gryphon... well all I can say is... I wish I had videos of all of it!
Well I'll be heading down for some dancing for the night. *grins* Later!

I view myself as intelligent, and someone that is somewhat afraid of appearing to be unintelligent to people. I feel I am very playful and someone who wants to help and be friendly to everyone. I feel I am definately a little to playful at times, and it has gotten me in trouble more than a few times... though it is never ment to be ill. I feel I am logical and understanding, but helpless when faced with comforting others with their issues. I do fell selfish and an ingrate how I tend to poke others only when it is convienent or when I have an issue. I feel though I still do have alot of defensive walls... when I go out to an outing I tend to keep to myself and be the one that stands a bit off to the side with his arms crossed
I feel I am very kind to others... sometimes a little too kind with just how many tend to take a huge liking to me. I am definately playful and do try and liven and/or lighten anyone's day that I meet. In happy cases I am pretty lively definately will tickle or poke if I get the chance. In sader cases I try and be comforting, caring and understanding in trying to help others with their plight.
At first impression I feel either someone thinks I am someone that likes to toy with people (not in a bad way) and slightly perverted
For those who have known me for a little while I feel they know I am playful and someone that is easy to be around, be it a cuddly, joking, friendly or serious situation.
For those who have known me for a long time... they tend to see me as a raver... >.>;;; I honestly don't know why!!! D: I feel they also know I am a very easy going person who doesn't like to be serious very often... but when it comes to it, it is scary how serious I get. They probably see that I can change my mood from bad to good very quickly with a joke... and even when I am in a bad mood I do keep my humor. I feel people get very attached to me as well... which kinda suprises me.
I feel most view me as an intelligent who can go fix their computers any time it is needed, someone who tends to have money pop out of nowhere and someone who is very playful and fun who tends to not be serious very often.

For those I am indifferent with I feel I am kind and courtious with them. I am still playful and somewhat cuddly at times with those that enjoy it. I do try and keep an intelligent image though.
For those that I feel indifferent to, they tend to think I'm someone that they need to have on their academic teams c.c Someone who is also kind, but keeps alot to myself.
For those I dislike, I try and be as understanding as I can be, and do try to be kind, despite the fact that we just do not get along and would much rather not acknowledge the other's existance.
For those who really dislike me, well needless to say they hate my guts. Most think I am stupid and don't know what I am doing at all... but well most of them have egos that earth can't contain... we should ship em off to jupiter, that just MIGHT be big enough.
On a scale from 0 to 10 I'd probably rate myself as 8. I am kind, or atleast try to be, but I am a jerk to people at times... (( well most of it is play but... *shrugs* I still am a jerk :p)) plus I can never give myself a perfect score on anything.
The only thing i wish I could change is I wish I could be more understanding and able to be more sympathetic and helpful to others when they are in emotional distress.

Califur and Stuff...
General | Posted 16 years agoWell, just wanted to go and let everyone know that me and my mate will be attending Califur this time around, I really do hope to see some familiar faces... (( well as familiar as having never seen anyone can be... c.c;)) Going to be my first furcon so really looking forward to it.
In other news... I suppose I'll touch on WoW. In honesty I'm quite suprised that i've stayed in it this long... I suppose thats mostly due to the 3x exp bonus I had. Anyways currently I'm playing between 3 servers, Scarlet Crusade, Silverhand and Emerald Dream... Although, I really don't know what the future of silverhand will be, given events lately. I'm sorry that all happened. *frowns* I'm looking to further my friend's base so let me know if you play on those servers... or which server you do play on other than that.
Not much else to report I suppose... despite the fact that I want to go extend this and say more can't think of much... I suppose I'll add this in there since it is going around.

No sleep...
General | Posted 17 years agoWell this has been pretty ongoing and its beginning to get in the way of my classes, I just can not get to sleep at night anymore. I will say there have been quite alot on my mind this past week, but that isn't anything that new... sadly its been keeping me up until 2-3-4am which is extremely bad considering the fact that I have to wake for class at 6 at the very latest. I may end up having to take sleep aids soon but I really don't want to end up becoming dependant on those things.
What is even more sad is pawing off no longer works. Heh I guess all of it may have given me a bit more stamina in that respect but I really don't want it right now. Most probably wouldn't complain about having to paw two or three times to sleep but I am. *sighs* I think I just need someone to sleep against really.

Team Fortress 2 Mic Static
General | Posted 17 years agoAlright, this has been driving me mad and has stumped me short of going and getting a new sound card... I havn't yet because I don't have the money for it. I've seen this posted on quite a few different forums and people have posted answers to it but most of those answers won't work for me. Toggling mic boost in and out of TF2 doesn't do anything, nor does adjusting the sound... I can't simply mute line in and such in the recording panel for the fact that it doesn't allow me to, it just says select. Also skype, teamspeak, ventrilo and such programs work with not static, any advice?

Procrastinators Unite!
General | Posted 17 years agoI have a feeling I'm going to get a whole lot of "screw you"s from this but anyways...
I've got a CIS mid term in about an hour and of course I didn't both studying until yesterday... and this morning... but you know... It really doesn't help me to read the book, nor does all this cramming so I really don't know why I'm even trying to cram right now... so of course I stopped and am just typing away on the laptop right now and calling people to chat... but I've got a question.
One: How often do people procrastinate until the very last moment before an assignment is due?
Two: Does normal studying, ex looking over the book and study guides and the review questions really help you or are those methods kinda not helping you and you get the most out of just being in class?
I obviously get everything from being in the class c.c books just don't do it for me.

1. Well first I need to specify a person. So of course I will do this for my mate Ishy. I love you so very much as a companion, a mate, a lover and a person. While we were together I was as comfortable as I have ever been in my life, despite the issues that were surrounding the visit. I hope we can stay together as mates for the rest of time and I do hope that it will be this way. *grins playfully* so fun to tickle and nom on too when you thrash all around like that.
2. Where I would take him... *ponders* that is a really tough decision to make... I want to say down to seaport village and along the bay of San Diego... but we covered that in less than a day. *grins* mabye before or after we can go to Torrey Pines like you said you wanted to.
3. for Valentine's dinner... Well I know its hardly romantic but we'd definately go back to Miguels and have some more white sauce with nummy mexican and seafood. Granted... my white sauce is sooooooooo much better than theirs. Though, they do have the candle lit tables on the outside... but *shrugs*

1. Well first I need to specify a person. So of course I will do this for my mate Ishy. I love you so very much as a companion, a mate, a lover and a person. While we were together I was as comfortable as I have ever been in my life, despite the issues that were surrounding the visit. I hope we can stay together as mates for the rest of time and I do hope that it will be this way. *grins playfully* so fun to tickle and nom on too when you thrash all around like that.
2. Where I would take him... *ponders* that is a really tough decision to make... I want to say down to seaport village and along the bay of San Diego... but we covered that in less than a day. *grins* mabye before or after we can go to Torrey Pines like you said you wanted to.
3. for Valentine's dinner... Well I know its hardly romantic but we'd definately go back to Miguels and have some more white sauce with nummy mexican and seafood. Granted... my white sauce is sooooooooo much better than theirs. Though, they do have the candle lit tables on the outside... but *shrugs*

Family Issues

Heh my hand is still shaking a bit too.
Alright, here's what happened. My little sister came into my room upset, crying and everything. I thought it was just over something that had been going on in school because there have been some ongoing issues... Lo and behold... she tells me that mom was about to turn a shotgun on Dave, my step dad... needless to say I did what Ican to comfort her and I somewhat rushed out of my room, fully expecting to see the gun pointing... or worse. Luckily mom stayed up in the room and Dave stayed downstairs and still doesn't know about the shotgun.
Its resloved... somewhat for now though. Its just been a build up of things between my step dad and my step mom and right now it doesn't seem to be going very many places... Mom suspects a divorce once the kids are out of school...
That's about all I'll say for now here.

General | Posted 17 years agoIts been a day since my mate has returned to Virginia and as expected, I miss him and the room feels very quiet and empty now. he got back safely though, and we'll be looking forward to the spring when he will probably make another trip out here.
*chuckles* I found out within the first moments of him being here that he is pretty bad at direction and noticing things around him, like BIG HUGE INFORMATION SIGNS!!! <.< I told him when he arrived to look near the information sign and the coffee stand near it for me, I was the only person on the benches there and he still couldn't find me. I had a bit of a chuckle there.
The first night, New Years Eve, went pretty well. I had to work but it was my last day, and he stayed in Macy's following me around while I recovered the shelves and kept me company all through the shift. Then later on we got some of my friends and were going to go to boomers or Dave and Busters, but boomers wasn't open and they didn't want to be on the road with possible drunks around. We opted to just go back to one of our houses and play the Wii until one Am. Heh we were pretty loud with our anticts. And was the first night me and Ishy got to cuddle. We also went to seaport village which I had been dying to go back to for ages. *chuckles remembering playing with the puppets* No offence to you foxes out there but when I saw the fox I just had to pick it up and have it bark "yiff! yiff! yiff!" c.c
Next couple of days went by well, went out for food, introduced him to much of my family, and went for a few holes of golf on the course my grandpa lives on. You know... That was my first time on a real golf course and I was normally only a couple above the par on the holes. I was quite suprised. Wouldn't mind going and playing more often, we enjoyed it. *chuckle* Oh and it was amusing for the both of us listening to the political discussions at the house that always seems to take place. Its funny too, he said that he was normally pretty shy and doesn't talk all too much. Well he was talking to my family a whole lot more than I was c.c;
Oh and Ishy tasted both the restaraunt's and my warm, spicy, creamy, cheezy, sour creamy, white cream! :D And no you perverts I don't mean that white cream its a sauce that they have at Miguels that attracts most of their customers, I swear if you've never been there and you live in San Diego... GO THERE NAO!!! Though I prefer mine over the restaraunts.
We spent a few days over at dad's house, then headed over to mom's to stay for the rest of his visit, over here things were a whole lot more relaxed than at dads. Granted we don't have small kids about that awe could confuse with our affections... our plans slowed down though a couple days after heading over there, Ishy went and twisted and sprained his ankle a bit while we were playing Mini golf with a couple friends at boomers, least it wasn't so bad that we had to go to the doctors or anything, it did look real bad though. It put our plans to go up and stay in the snowy mountains off, but I think that might have been for the better. Lot less money spent c.c We went up to San Juan Capistrano to have dinner with some guildmates and ren fair friends of mine friday, enjoyed our time at "Simply Fondue" formerly known as "La Fondue" kinda a pity that they became skimpy with the cheezes there, but we enjoyed it as much as last time. And of course... Shun teamed up with Ishy and was picking on me all night!!! T.T
Went to the zoo the next day and he enjoyed it very much, despite the fact that we only covered a portion of it... (( for all you vorephiles out there... I so wish that camera had snapped the picture... *chuckle* we had a huge python yawning wide at us. we were chuckling at how many would have just loved that. Ah but alas, no picture, so no further teasing about that. There was also that drooling kmodo dragon there, that was amusing.
And of course... Wicked. All I can say was that play was AMAZING!!! If ever you get the chance to see it, go. I knew what to expect and knew some of the scenes and all the music in the play and I was still on the edge of my seat the whole time and was awed by the performance. Its a pity that they're no longer in San Diego. but I plan to go and see it again another time.
It was really sad of course when he had to leave yesterday morning. Neither of us wanted to separate and we both feel like there is something that is missing back at home now. At the airport I found myself standing at the rail watching Ishy go through security and heading to his gate and couldn't move until I had completely lost sight of him. Its kinda sad too, it was something that I felt I was crying and wanted to shed a tear but I couldn't. I havn't been able to shed an emotional tear for so long, and I couldn't that time. But we both know that he'll be coming back soon. So now we look forward to the spring.

Its a pity that they're no longer in San Diego. but I plan to go and see it again another time.
It was really sad of course when he had to leave yesterday morning. Neither of us wanted to separate and we both feel like there is something that is missing back at home now. At the airport I found myself standing at the rail watching Ishy go through security and heading to his gate and couldn't move until I had completely lost sight of him. Its kinda sad too, it was something that I felt I was crying and wanted to shed a tear but I couldn't. I havn't been able to shed an emotional tear for so long, and I couldn't that time. But we both know that he'll be coming back soon. So now we look forward to the spring.

General | Posted 17 years agoFirst off, I know tons of people have already heard and seen the prop 8 posters. It really does annoy me that this is even being considered. Then again, it is religion.
You know, every time I drive by a group of people holding and parading those yes on prop 8 signs my journalistic side hops in and I get such the urge to skid to a stop, stomp up to them and assault them with questions to get an idea of the mindset of these people have. Is it based solely on religious values? Is it because they think the story of the prince and the prince will be told? It surely will be told regardless.
I have to go and ask the question, being an atheist myself. What would one call an atheist "wedding?" Is it not more of a religious desecration that someone who does not believe in anything holy to have something that to some people is the epidimy of holy practice? It is such a huge threat that a man and a man or a woman and a woman to marry, but yet someone who doesn't believe in "god," one who thinks religion is false is not?
Religion is the root of all evil I believe. Well let me re state that. I believe the root of all evil is how religion is practiced. In the course of taking mythology, my dislike of religion had lessened. However, this is ONLY to religion and the stories themselves. I have a greater dislike of the way that it is carried out, and the perversion of religion. Christianity the biggest issue. Was not the point of religion to promote peace? Why is it that there are so many signs that read "Jesus loves you," but so many people go around and say, "Jesus hates you, you're going to burn in hell." If you think christianity spreads love I believe you are so horribly mistaken. In my eyes, biased maybe, christianity as the prime topic, is false. It is not some benevolent entity but a malicious presence.
Now I don't say that all of religion is bad as I said before. There are many that need religion, they need something to make them feel everything is fine. They need something, some thought that after life it will continue and it will be better. People need hope. Hope is something I feel is necessary to everyone.

Life Update.
General | Posted 17 years agoWell its been a while since I've done a journal entry, and even longer since i've talked about what has been happening in my life. I guess it is about time I do so for the ones that care enough or are curious enough to read.
Jobless- Yeah its been this way since I've been at the station and really seeking a job right now, though you know, with the economy how it is right now, especially around San Diego. (( though I honestly don't know if it is better or worse in other areas. Please forgive my ignorance.)) Part time jobs as well seem really hard to find at the moment, and full time jobs all want hours that interfere with my college schedule. There's a few things that really upset me about the situation right now. First off as I stated either i'm doing something wrong or part time or later jobs just seem hard to come by, and my dad is really getting on me about being jobless. Second, experience. Of course employers want experience and most of the jobs avalable seem to be mostly only for those who have plenty of experience in the fields, not much for entry level jobs. Third. I could have two jobs that I could have in an instant, either working at the gas station again for minimum pay doing work that I really don't enjoy, or at SoE being a game tester which would be awesome, but they want me to work hours that interfere with my class times.
If there is anyone in the San Diego area that knows of any decent jobs and/or could possible give me a recommendation for them, please please please let me know.
You know just how much torture it was sitting at best buy, looking at the video cards, thinking how much i want a new one for my computer, but knowing if I buy the card I will be in some trouble in the next couple weeks unless a job popped up. And do you know just how upsetting it is going to be when I go to the ren faire with the family on the first, unable to go and spend any money? GAAAAH!!! Worse off I still desprately want to see the play Wicked, but do not have the money for that either.
Relationship and entertainment wise: Well as it has been I am still unmated, but lately I've begun to take a liking to a couple people, but I am torn about what to do at the moment. I guess it doesn't much matter at this point, however it is still nervewracking. There is one in my area that I am in, though we don't get much opportunity to get together, mostly due to our schedules, I'm awake "normal" hours, and he is awake all through the night, due to his work. We are both also in some money situations and with gas being as high as it is, he has to save every penny for gas to get to work. He is also HORRIBLY stubborn, won't let me go pick him up nor treat him to food *grumble, grumble* The other one is once again clear on the other side of the United States, and for the most part much of the only interest point that keeps us together is Vanguard. I feel a bit stronger of a connection though, but that is probably because I'm more relaxed in the digital medium. In person with the other, I still have a very thick shell around me and am very hesitant to do anything, probably due to my last relationship *Shrugs* I've also begun to make myself for the most part scarce as well, really focusing on speaking to those two over the net. I'm disliking that I am beginning to become reclusive again. I guess my craft whoreyness in vanguard is to blame for that but *shrugs* If there is anyone playing Vanguard: Saga of Heroes on the Seradon server, please let me know.
