Forgot to update because it fucking sucks: my dog has terminal cancer

My old girl Molly has some major swelling on her snout, it's been gradually getting worse rather than better, and I've seen an increase in size even since making her vet appointment last week.

Just got back from that, it's either a very high abscess or not an abscess at all, so she needs further diagnostics.

They're putting her under and starting with an oral x ray, and will stop there if it miraculously is just an abscess

but

I am told to prepare for a bill of around 850 dollars, not counting the 130 I paid today.

I was having a really fun thing where I was going blind periodically in one eye alongside experiencing stabbing pain and shit like that for literally over a month (started April 15thish) but it turns out that was just a severe ocular migraine.

My disability benefits have dropped due to my divorce, which means my current income is 300 dollars less than my rent alone, not including bills, food, et cetera.

So I'm going to have to hustle to keep a roof over my and my son's head!

(And yea, even though my ex had a job and brought in significantly more income they just go by numbers of heads in the house which is a real kick in the brain tissue. The woman from the ministry actually just said she could give me a list of shelters when I was asking why this happened on the phone. Very fun. Definitely helpful.)

I have a new computer and a screen tablet and feel like some art powers have been unlocked.

Life's been hard, man. Parenting is hard, divorce is hard, and your ex sleeping on your living room floor is extra hard. I've been pretty low. I don't know what to say.

As you might've guessed, I'm very busy with my little man. I've drawn exactly once since his birth, and a sketch it remains.
The time will come when I can submit again, I'm sure... I am missing doing art properly, but I mean, this isn't a surprise haha

After a grand total of five days of labor, my son was delivered via c section on May 9th. Today was his actual due date, actually.
We are all healthy and doing as well as can be expected given the massive shift in... life in general.

It has been a very strange few months.


I'm 34 weeks pregnant now and my son is healthy, thankfully. We've been in isolation since the second week of March with no end in sight.

As you guys might've seen, I've been trying to get a bit of traditional art done when I can. I'm hoping to continue that as much as I can until kiddo is born!

Wow, that's unexpected. It's cool, but it'll take a bit of getting used to.

Anyway, pregnancy's been going well. I learned last week I'm expecting a boy and thusfar he's very healthy and meeting all the milestones. I've only recently become well enough to get back to artwork, and I'm doing so in modest.

I'm not just going to be an auntie (actually, one of my two nieces has been born so I am an auntie now!). I'm also going to be a mom next Spring.

I've had some very heavy downtime in the past 3ish months as my pregnancy has not been without a share of complications, but I'm finally starting to do better and have a bit of... actual energy, lmao.

Knocking on wood irl for saying this but I feel like my years of bad luck have been easing off as of late. I've been unwell, as usual, but I mean I'm chronically ill so!

It's been over a year now since we moved into this place, and I'm still amazed by how much better I've felt mentally since doing so. I really love it here, and my spouse does too.
