Just a shout out to the people who wished me well and whatnot yesterday. As I've said to a few of my close friends, I'm pretty much totally fine. The death of my grandfather didn't shock or upset me, since I wasn't massively close to him, so I'll be okay. Most of the messages I would pass to my mum, since it's her father that was lost. She also took it very well, thanks mostly in part to the fact that Granddad lived a hell of a life and frankly, it was about time he just rest.
I mean shit, you survive the Navy Submarine sorties in world war 2, line dancing in your 70s and THREE strokes, I think that you deserve a good rest, y'know? Hell even the way he died was quiet and natural, as he was found one morning with an open newspaper in his hands, lying in his chair and looking incredibly asleep, no signs of struggle or pain whatsoever. The hell with a blaze of glory, I'd like to wake up one morning, read a newspaper and just think "eh, I think I should let it go I guess" and have Death be all "wow you're a boring sod, 'aintcha?"
It's been hella stressful for mum this past month, but it's all done, reception was lovely, funeral went off without a hitch, weather never rained even though it REALLY wanted to... A perfect, stress free send off. Now I'm back to normal and will be answering emails, sorting Confuzzled commissions and all that good stuff.
So yes, once more, thankyou all, I'll be fine, and take care of yourselves <3

Confuzzled went extreeeeemely well. I didn't feel like shite, the people I met were lovely, my stranger roommate was pleasant, I made crazy bank and all round I couldn't have asked for a better time (apart from remembering the shark magnets, but hey ho). The book sold hella well, especially counting that
it was sold out within the first day, and many people dropped back in to let me know I done did good! I mean yeah, I didn't ever think this would be as big as it is, BUT SHIT WHAT DO I KNOW?
So now it's all over and normality is returning somewhat, I shall be concentrating on Perk commissions, sending out books, emailing the digi versions to everyone and getting the craptonne of commissions from the con finished. Gonna be a hell of a month or two...
So yeah, thanks once again, y'all are mighty fine!

One of my fave songs, been thinking about it when people talk about how Beyonce is empowering women and black lives. I mean good on her, but there are far more powerful songs that encapsulate an actual method to change the mindset of the world to agree that we can better ourselves for everyone involved, not just one race and gender. Like I listened to Lemonade, and if genius is just finding a few words that rhyme to state that "you cheated on me but it has no effect on me", then yeah, no, it's not genius. The beat is minimal, the production is lacking, the lyrics are... well... I dunno, it sounds like whinging and hollering. It's a hip hop equivalent of Sex Pistols, no intelligence, but all relate-able vitriol.
Also, the statements about getting made. Like, too much modern hip hop has that shit in it. It's all me me me, all about "I got mine, where's yours?" Implying that it's okay to become the thing that true hip hop has fought against for generations, aka 'the man'.
A 16 year old girl was killed in a bathroom by a pack of classmates, and was filmed. Over what? A boy. Beyonce's music teaches power, but leaves out compassion. That's not genius, that's hate preaching. There's no moral lesson about accepting your losses and working on bettering yourself. It strikes at the most easily related part of human, the hatred. You ever actually listen to Martin Luther King? He was a pastor. His views were Christian. I'm not Christian, but holy shit I could recognize that his messages were fundamentally HUMANITARIAN. Why isn't THAT being taught?
I wonder if one day someone will actually make a good, intelligent song about a relationship breaking apart but the subjects remained friends, and their lessons were learnt and they bettered themselves in their future relationships. I guess it's not edgy or relate-able in the current climate of the world that needs an excuse to hate something.
So yes, here's to a song about truly bettering yourself for the good of humanity.

1) all comic pages are inked and completed, so I just need to implement proofread edits, slam it together, send to printers, job's a good'n.
2) the commissions for the campaign will be started over the course of May, done in between Con prep and other owed commissions, so yes, I'm starting those in case you were gonna ask
3) If you're also going to confuzzled, let me know (I'll ask again at a later date) so I can make sure I carry your book for your contribution perk and pass it to you in person.

I aint gonna have another horrendously stressful close call like last time xD once I need not look at the comic any longer, commissions will be in full force once more, so yeah, thanks in advance for your patience.
