I have been sitting on this for awhile, and discussing it with a few friends made me realize just how outdated the term "furry fandom" is to an extent. I realized one day, when people refer to the furry fandom, they usually refer to everyone with an interest in anthropomorphized animals, but more than likely just picture the brightly colored fursuiters strutting about at conventions, nothing wrong with that at all by the way, just it feels most people outside of all of this just see that and nothing more which could not be further from the truth. I just feel furry fandom is a bit imprecise when describing the seemingly cultural zeitgeist of anthro appreciation as a whole. I feel furry fandom doesn't work on the whole anymore. A much more fitting name for nowadays would be Anthro Culture or something along those lines.

Culture implies it covers all areas or aspects of a group, fandom implies just a fan of something specific. There are multiple facets beyond just the typical "furry. Where as fandom to me is something specific of a game or book, things like Undertale or Warhammer 40k. People may enjoy anthropomorphized characters or things, but may not think of themselves as furry. Plus furry as a term in it of itself is limiting in scope if you think about it, implying just enjoying fur, when you have scalies, feather fiends, etc. of the entire animal kingdom to appreciate and enjoy. Anthro is also easily accessible for beyond just humanoid animals.

Plus, the connotation of furry in general is usually received as a mixed bag by most, a lot of baggage on the term to say the least.
I see Furry Fandom as just a puzzle piece in the larger picture of Anthropomorphic appreciation, from the many stories, games, art, etc. That tie in one way or another back to anthro culture as a whole.

You ever just get burnt out on some sort of setting or creation you been working on, thinking maybe starting a new one, or heck, even revisiting an older one you'd been working on? Kind of how I'm feeling at the moment, all this potential with zero of the focus. I mean that's how it feels with ADHD sometimes, but I'm sure plenty of people without that or with something else feel the same. It's a weird form of creative block if you think about it, instead of trying to create something, you lack the focus of something already created.

I'm sure something will catch my attention in a day or two. But until then I think I'm just gonna game and enjoy a bit of mindless fun.

I plan on uploading a couple of aeromorph stories here in the coming week. They were written by an author named A-10Writer. He seemingly hasn't been active in years, (please A-10 if you are reading this, or someone who remembers A-10Writer, please reach out. It would mean a lot) They're not my own, but they are hard to access without the Way Back Machine, and I haven't seen anyone else try and preserve them. They were some of the first stories that got me into aeromorphs and furries in general and I'd hate to see them forgotten. Right now I'm currently working on formatting them for a more easy read. But there's a lot.
