Hubby and I went to see this in the theater today. God, what an amazing movie. It doesn't feel 20 years old, AT ALL. This was one of my favorite movies back then, and I remember why. The 3-d didn't really add that much to it, but it was cool none-the-less. I think this still holds the record for most times seen in theater, with The Lion King a close second. :) It brought back so many memories...my best friend as a teenager, Kristen and I were in love--me with Sam Neill (and he was just as cute as I remember!) and her with Jeff Goldblum. I remembered giggling and all our jokes about them. <3 Memories.

It was a good day.

I thought this was a really nice convention. I'm already looking forward to next year. I wish I had felt better though so I could have enjoyed more of it. I'd been getting over a cold for two weeks but it's still lingering on. The mornings were so bad I couldn't eat at all and continued to feel nauseated all day long. I felt a little better in the evenings but still stuffy, achy and lack of concentration so I couldn't do much in the way of art.

Aside from that, I was able to get through two days in the Dealer's Room where I met some very nice people. I was happy to talk to people who came up about fursuiting, and the building of suits. I met Danruk who'd I'd made a suit for and got hugs, yay! Got to watch Huskie, at the Dealer's spot next to me do a few of her commissions, which is like watching magic! :) And I nearly sold out of everything I'd brought.

Thank you so much to everyone who purchased something from me. This was my first con selling fursuit parts and I was nervous about how it'd go over. Now I have more confidence which should mean more cons for me. Thank you! I was very proud that two of the heads I'd brought went to younger furs.

I did fell well enough on Sat. night to suit for a little bit. I was only out for maybe 20 minutes, and went around passing out Jelly Babies, but it was cool. I loved it though. I don't think anyone got pics of me, which was they only bad part.

But then I left Sun for a not fun drive home. It wasn't a bad trip, I just felt like crap still and all I'd eaten from when I woke up until 12:30 was half a sandwich. Home now and overall feeling happy, with fond memories of the con. I'm anxiously awaiting video of the events I couldn't attend. Next year, I promise not to look so pathetic all day lol.

I'm heading home from fur the more tomorrow., rather than mon. Been a bit under the weather. So i'll be able to reply to notes and whatnot then. And I'll give con report then too.

Anyone know of any nice critique groups online? I'm looking for a good, active community for critiquing some sketches so I can get some help on my art. Preferable a site that's active and gives good, honest crits without flamming. I've found a good writing crit forum, but art ones seem much more full of judgement than help.

Hehehe, talked the hubby into going to Philcon, yay! We'll be there just for Sunday, but still...geek date is FUN.

At least this time, it wasn't their fault. My paypal account was hacked. They say the person used the card, although I have my card, so they must have gotten the numbers somehow. Woke up this morning to three alerts--thank goodness they do those now so I knew right away!

To their credit, paypal seems to be handling the situation quickly, so hopefully I get my money back in a few days. Sometimes, you just can't catch a break. *sigh*

Pending them being picked up tomorrow (Mon), I got a local buyer to come and take the whole collection. It's a bit frustrating to see them go for so little, IMO, but, with that and what's already been sold I do have enough for a new netbook, so, in the end I had to do it. Well, although much of NJ is devastated, we did really well. No loss of power, no damage. So we just wait and see how things get back to normal in the rest of the state.

So, I live in southern NJ which means Hurricane Sandy is on it's way. I really REALLY hope it's not that bad and people are just being cautious, but there is a chance that power may go out. So, if I lose communication for a few days, just know that I haven't disappeared or anything, but it's likely the storm caused a power/cable outage.

What a nice Birthday present for me...getting stuck inside with rain and 80 mph winds outside. *Sigh*
