Maverick Gunshow Elsewhere

So had characters stolen before but... not to the extent of this current one.
If you see an account called 'Maverick Gunshow' anywhere, using Maverick's pictures... that ain't me. Someone has seemingly decided to just full on take my character and use it as their sona.
Anywhere I go, I go by 'Dregan' - and anywhere I post Maverick I do it under either that name, or some variation of it - 'Dregan', 'Drecanic', or 'Drecanical'.
If you see anyone - Twitter, Instagram, or anywhere else just straight up going as 'Maverick Gunshow'... Yeah, that's a thief.

C.O.W.S Progress Log! (Competitors Still Wanted)
Posted 3 years agoHey! So work on C.O.W.S is going... not as fast as I'd hoped, but it's still trundling forwards! I thought having a sorta... progress log of sorts may be a nice transparent way to both let you guys know where I'm at with it, as well as acting as an added motivation for me to keep working at it!

Weeeell about... wow, 5 years ago now? I had a little writing project! A wrestling promotion by the name of C.O.W.S, to which people submitted their characters, for promos, matches, and stries! Ooor at least that was the idea. It didn't make it super far.

You're probably already getting where this is going at this point. Yes, I'm going to be attempting the project once more! Fresh start, from the top - and will hopefully get a li'l further this time. And once more, I'mma gonna need characters from you guys!
Few things to run over first though;
1. If you participated last time, feel free to enter with your old profile! I do request however people copy-paste their profiles from last time into the comments below, juuust so I can keep track. If it helps, you can find the prior journal here!
2. C.O.W.S is a SFW project! I don't mind flirty or somewhat sexualised characters, variety is the spice of life and all that, but here we're looking at wrassling in the traditional sense. No erotica here!
3. Multiple characters are allowed! Though, y'know, try not to flood me with them. If I get a ton from one person, some of them are probably gonna wind up stuck to filler roles.
4. Please no straight-up expy characters. References are fine, but I'd really not have a character who is straight-up 'Samoa Joe, but a Moose. I call them Samoa Moose.'
5. Let's try and keep drama to a minimum! Not everyone is gonna get on with everyone, I know that, especially in the furry community. And with a veritable fruitbowl of characters, I imagine there's gonna be some people in there who don't neccesarily want to have their characters involved with specific others. If it's the case that you're in this and you see someone else here you really REALLY don't want to run the risk of getting involved with... just drop me a note or message behind the scenes. I can write around things where neccesary!
6. On the note of avoiding drama... not everyone can be the champion, or always in the main event. Will try to treat every character fairly, but sometimes... well, you're gonna have to lose matches. Sorry!
Aaaand I think that's everything. If that all sounds good to you... well, please fill out the form and post below!

Last year was my first time participating. Now, plus one year's experience, I'm at it again!
For those of you who don't know, Art Fight is like... a big yearly mass Art Trade. People sign up, throw up some characters, and then do art for other participants throughout July to earn points for their team! A somewhat more in-depth explanation can be found here;

Character Q&As
Posted 5 years agoSo hey yo y'all! Some of you may've noted that I've been doing more and more of my own art recently - crazy I know.
Some of you also may've noted I have like...10,000 or so characters, with varying degrees of screen time. And that, well, I try to keep a relatively consistent world of sorts with each of them.
Some of you also also may've seen those sorta... Q&A drawings that people do. You know, peeps ask questions, artists draw their characters answering, yaddah yaddah?
Well, I am doing the unthinkable and attempting THAT EXACT THING YOU JUST THINKED ABOUT.
I think it'll be good practice for drawing more, and drawing faster - and can potentially prompt pieces I wouldn't necessarily think of doing on my own. In particular, it'll allow me to also practice being more expressive with expressions and posing and such, which is something I really want to focus on!
It'll also let me write and develop characters further! Expansive lore, yo.
So yeah, if you want to ask anything to any of my characters... go right ahead! I can't promise I'll get to all of them, and the quality of each answer may vary wildly, but I'll at the very least try and sorta pick out what might produce the most interesting answers/pictures!

Thing is, I don't always neccesarily want to just doin' art for me. I'm a kind, caring soul. I like doing art for others.
I also however, am vicious, violent, sociopath. And I want to fight.
As such, this year, I'm taking part in Art Fight;

For those unaware, Art Fight is like... a mass art trade war. Each July, two teams are to do battle against each other - people from each side drawing art for each other in an attempt to gain points for their side. You can find a better explanation here;

This time I'mma be on Team Sugar! So if anyone's following me who thinks they'd be down for a bit of an art scuffle... come at me!

So I've had a busy few weeks. 8D
Started a new job, been on holiday, been ill, started therapy, it's been a fun few weeks overall. But it means also I've been super inactive here, and failed to respond to Watches/Faves/Comments/Everything.
It feels a li'l late to be responding to all of 'em individually, so just want to throw out that it's appreciated - and give out a general thanks to the variety of Watchers I've not thanked personally! It is genuinely appreciated!
Expect regular posting to resume soon!

I retain permission to post and share work I have produced for you. If you would rather I not post a commissioned work publically (or if you wish for me to delay posting, for example for a surprise gift or similar such) please inform me and we can discuss.

Buuut yeah, basically I have a Toyhou.se (which can be found here for anyone curious) which currently has a buuunch of spare invite codes hanging out on it. Thus, I'mma gonna be handing out some of 'em - for free! No special payments, no 'art trade for a code' nothing like that. All you have to do is leave a comment asking for a code... and you'll get one!
For those of you who don't really know what Toyhou.se is... well, it's basically a sorta character repository! You store character profiles there and such, helps you keep track of them. In all seriousness, thanks to all y'all who've Watched thus far - 'specially considering I'm not really an artist myself. So yeah, it's always neat to see people are like... interested in the characters here, or interested in the pieces I'm getting.
So yah, thank you all for the Watches! Hope this account continues to provide pieces to hold your attentions!
Now, let's get to the meat of the matter. Generally speaking, people like to celebrate milestones with like... a thing. An actual thing. Like a raffle-like thing.
It's seems suitable then, that a raffle-like thing should occur. And this raffle-like thing shall be...

Nothing too major, but basically it's just a case of 'You want a piece of one of your peeps and one of my peeps together doing something? Cool, you win the raffle, I'll buy that.'

...Actually lastly lastly, you're permissed more than one idea. Essentially I'll be rolling the raffle per person as opposed to per idea - if you have multiple ideas and you get rolled, I'll pick my favourite from among those suggested.

Posted 7 years agoThat works perfectly well 100% of the time. Like when I want to organise my Gallery Folders into alphabetical order, and rather than the arrows moving the folders up and down, they randomly snap up and down to a random place in the order - OBVIOUSLY EXACTLY AS INTENDED.
Not only that, but as you can see here;

The Chapel Doors Remain Open!
Posted 8 years agoActually, in all honesty, they're a li'l more than open - they're actively wanting to invite a few more people inside! Prepping on and working on a few future plans, it's sorta resulted in me shifting a few things around and well... Basically, it's opened up two slots in the roster that I really need to fill ASAP! Whilst not 100% neccesary, at least one more rough/scrappy heel would definitely be prepared! Still I'll work with anything!

Oh, and for those of you unsure about what Toyhou.se even is - it's basically a sorta character repository! You store character profiles there and such, helps you keep track of them. As well as being able to keep their bios up, you can create Links to other characters (so you can keep track of who's met who and their opinions of each other and such) - plus, character gallery's for keeping your art of them all together in a nice organised fashion!

Posted 8 years agoHello! Just posting this journal firstly as a thank you to some of my more recent Watchers!
Normally I tend to go to new Watchers directly when they Watch me to thank them for the Watch! I'm not an artist, I'm hardly flooded with them, so I can usually find the time to go to each one uniquely and say hello, thank them, ask them what got them Watching, etc.
Over the past couple of months however I've been rather busy/preoccupied working on some personal projects, which dropped me off with a bit of a backlog in terms of new Watchers and commenters. As such, for this particular instance, felt I'd throw out this journal as a general thanks to all of ye - sorry it's a bit less personal than usual!
If you want, feel free to share how you found me, and what in particular got you to Watch! Always curious to hear - and always interested to know what in my Gallery actually interests people!
Following that, couple of pieces of news - firstly, yes. Yes, that was a lot of Valentines pieces. Me and Spek sorta kinda went a little bit ham on it this year. Mainly Spekkal. I need to have my vengeance.
Still, for now we're through that gauntlet of love, hearts and flowers - sorta. There's a few other pieces I haven't got permissions from the artists for reposting, so expect those to be interspersed among more general posts moving through the year!
Last thing to address is C.O.W.S! As I say, had my focus on a few other personal projects, so for a while that's kinda taken the backseat. Still, now I've got through the brunt of that, I'm gonna get back to working on C.O.W.S - so anyone who's been reading that, expect more of that to come soon!

Y'see JWolfman is running a li'l promotion of it's own, with a heavy focus on the high-flying and technical abilities of cruisers around the world! Around the furry world! The furld! (The 'furld' is not a thing nobody make that a thing if you're thinking of making that a thing stop thinking about that now.)
The promotion is, of course, the revival of Furry Championship Wrestling - a promotion that some of you who've been around longer than me may be more familiar with! Hello, and welcome one and all - this is an open invitation for you to join the Chapel of Wrestling Spirits! Some of you may have come here already aware of what you're getting into, others... Well, read on, and see if you'd be interested!
-WHAT IS C.O.W.S?-
C.O.W.S (aka, Chapel of Wrestling Spirits) is a SFW solo-writing project to be written by... well, to be written by me! C.O.W.S is essentially meant to be a fictional wrestling promotion of sorts, operating off of it's own feuds and stories that I hope to write out to entertain you wonderful people! Essentially, it's a long form story/serial based within a single wrestling promotion, nothing too complicated to it!
Of course, I'm looking for volunteers to fill the company up! Primarily, looking to you guys to source some characters to me to fill up roles as wrestlers, commentators, managers, etc. If you think you'd be interested, well, check out how to sign up below! If you're on the fence... well, read on and hopefully I can help you make up your mind!
Unlike other fictional promotions I've seen around FA in the past, the matches and results won't neccesarily be completely random. Whilst I may use certain random elements - dice rolls and the like - to decide earlier decisions (primarily, things like where some of the titles may initially land), from there a lot of the writing will be more story-driven. Wins and losses will be less 'flip of a coin' and more about building interesting interactions and feuds. Still, I will try my best to treat characters fairly, and give as much of an equal chance to all as I can! Still, in this case, creating an enjoyable narrative/read is always gonna be the number-one priority!
-SO WHAT OF THE CHAPEL ITSELF?-
The Chapel is based in the fictional city of Trinus. Originally a religious building, it has been converted to better suit the purposes of combat, a number of pews turned to face in towards a wrestling ring at the building's centre. Overlooking it all, a great stain glass window which seems to double handily as a jumbotron screen.
Saratheina acts as the GM/High Priestess of the venue. Promoting the virtues of combat, she has taken the chapel as her own monument to the beauty of battle. From here, she broadcasts and shares the thrill of the fight as the one thing she truly worships.
-ANY WRITING EXAMPLES?-
As of now, C.O.W.S has succesfully made it through one episode, split into four different parts! You can find the logs for all of the parts so far right here! If alternatively you want to jump straight to the start you can find that here, whilst the very first battles can be found in this part! Some of the later fights are perhaps written better as I get more into the swing of things, but this should give you an overall idea of how it'll be written!

The Chapel of Wrestling Spirits - Sign Up!
Posted 9 years agoSo! Sign-ups for the Chapel Of Wrestling Spirits is now open! And before anything else, if you're looking down and panicking about the size of stuff below, don't worry! Essentially below is the profile base for people to fill in, but a lot of the things inside it are optional, and you can easily cut segments that are irrelevant to you. In fact, over half of the profile is optional. So yeah, don't worry too much about it!
So yeah, if you want a character to attend the chapel - even in a non-combatitive role - please make sure to fill in this form and send it to me! You can leave a comment here with it, note it to me, or if you're not on FA fill it out elsewhere and link it to me through a messaging service or whatever! Whatever's easiest really.
Below the journal will be a couple of posts where I've provided example profiles. Just in case anyone is unsure or wants to read up a couple of others who'll be present at the Chapel.

Edit: Sidenote - as someone bought this up - straight-up expy character I may be a touch hesitant to use. Like, not gonna say outright 'No' to them, and definitely not gonna turn down anyone who is simply influenced by other wrestlers. But if the character is literally just like 'This is Triple H, only, he's a walrus', I'd probably much rather keep them on the backburner in preference towards more unique characters.
Edit 2: Just to clarify one other thing - you are allowed to enter more than one character! Of course, I don't want to really be buried in tons from one person, but don't think you have to just stick with one to act as a representative for you or whatever. I know I myself will have a handful in there.

Names Used: (Names they'll officially be referred to under - so if you would rather them be referred to by a nickname as standard, or anything like that. Essentially, what your character will be called. If nothing here, I'll just use any and all Names and Nicknames listed.)
Titles: (Red Barons - not actual nicknames, but titles like 'The Game', 'The Big Guy' and 'The Best in the World' fit under here.)
Hailing From: (For when they enter, where they're announced as being from. Doesn't have to be a legitimate location, things like 'From the depths of Hell' and 'From the reccesses of your own imagination' are acceptable.)
Preferred Alignment: (Heel? Face? Tweener? Something altogether more complicated? Acts of their own accord regardless of anything else? They may not stick to this the whole time, but it'll certainly give me a further idea of how to present them.)
Signature Moves: (Moves they have a preference towards using in a match - like certain wrestlers may rely on the Superkick a lot.)
Finisher: (Or Finishers - big finale moves they like to finish matches with. The actual move(s) are the most important part, though if they have a custom names for them, list those too.)

Edit: Sidenote - as someone bought this up - straight-up expy character I may be a touch hesitant to use. Like, not gonna say outright 'No' to them, and definitely not gonna turn down anyone who is simply influenced by other wrestlers. But if the character is literally just like 'This is Triple H, only, he's a walrus', I'd probably much rather keep them on the backburner in preference towards more unique characters.
Edit 2: Just to clarify one other thing - you are allowed to enter more than one character! Of course, I don't want to really be buried in tons from one person, but don't think you have to just stick with one to act as a representative for you or whatever. I know I myself will have a handful in there.

The Chapel of Wrestling Spirits
Posted 9 years agoSo! Been thinking on takin' on a li'l writing project. Seen a few people around here do them, even certain people dedicating entire alternate accounts to them - I probably wouldn't go that far, but still.
Essentially, considering acting as a writer for my own independent fictional 'promotion' as it were. Writing up a bunch of matches - and feuds too! I always like a decent feud, and think it's a shame they can often get missed out on in the RP scene of it. Obviously there's reasons for that, but hoping since this would give me a little more control on the matter, it'd give me the chance to actually get a few interesting feuds/stories between different characters rolling.
The current concept for the promotion is essentially you standard wrassling, only with an overtone of mysticism to it all - sorta think Lucha Underground, but not quite as heavy on the supernatural. Essentially a chapel for the worship not of any aztec gods, but a worship for the pure artistry of combat. Of course, the majority of the roster would perhaps feel it as just 'wrestling but in a slightly church-y venue', but I dunno, think it could be fun!
Of course, I don't exactly have enough of my own characters to write up an entire promotion. As such would certainly be up for taking on a few other people's characters, if they did so trust me with writing them.
Sooo... how does that sound to people? Something worth going for, something they may be interested in, or juuust me babbling non-sensically at a wall?
((Also, I am well aware that the acronym is essentially 'C.O.W.S'. This was entirely unintentional. Still... would seem fair to give the place something of a Bovine 'GM' as a nod to that.))
