New Submissions
Posted 15 years agoRemember when I told you I had drawings coming? Back in, oh, I don't know, April last year? Turns out I wasn't yanking your collars after all. I finally have something to show, but it's nothing all that special. I'm posting the line art, and I hope to have the colouring done in a couple of days.
You'll also notice that I took down all my old submissions. I'm going to provide a link from here to DevART where I've been posting all my photographs. There's not really much point in keeping photographs on both. I might, however, cross post my drawings. We'll see.
Good to be back here.

Damn
Posted 16 years agoHi everyone! Miss me?
So, as it were, I'm stuck between a rock and a couple hard places. I might have brought this up before, but FurAffinity just doesn't seem the place to be sharing my photography, as most of it has nothing to do with furs, except that a fur did it. :) I've attempted, rather unsuccessfully, to find things that are furry to photograph, and except for a few friends, that's been quite the loss. I've ben spending a fair amount of time on DeviantART with my photography, but I miss the fur community we have here, especially when it comes to the artwork. The other option I suppose is keep a FurAffinity account and a Flickr, but I've been trying to spend less time on the computer, not more.
So, at any rate, I'm back in town. Sorry I've been unattentive. I've got quite the message box to go through. So while I'm doing that, any suggestions for my problem would be greatly appreciated. :) Thanks.

The Fursona Meme That's Floating Around
Posted 16 years ago1 – Do you and your "fursona" look alike?
Yeah, with the exception of a little less fur on my behalf. And awesome paws.
2 – Do you and your "fursona" share attire?
Yes. Although he gets to be naked a little more often than I do (lucky bastard).
3 – Do you share the same sexuality as your fursona?
Yep.
4 – If you hadn’t already made your fursona look like you, if you would to change how he/she looked like to make him/her look more like you, how would you think he/she would look like?
Seeing as though I don't have a drawing for him yet, I'll take a pass on this one.
5 – Did you work hard to develop your fursona? What is the (brief) history of your fursona?
I share a lot of personality traits with wolves, and feel they're my totem animal, so it didn't take long to figure that out. :) His history is mine.
6 – Do you and your fursona share relationship status?
Yep, married.
7 – Do you find yourself jealous or upset if you get paired with someone you don’t like or your partner does?
Indifferent.
8 – How would you like your character not to be used?
My fursona doesn't do adult stuff unless you EXPLICITLY ASK for permission.
9 – What’s your fursona’s specialty?
Leading and looking after the members of his pack. Also being cuddly when time allows.
10 – At a score of 1-10 how much are you and your fursona alike?
Given the physical differences, probably a 9.

On New Stuff, News, & Fat Fetishes
Posted 16 years agoHey everyone. Been away for a little while, and I know I didn't deliver on my promise for new arts, so you can feel free to slap me. I'm currently facing a dilemma. I have both a DevART and FA account, and I don't know what I should do for sorting. I've been trying to keep them both up to date, but that's not really working, as I do a lot of photography. So my new plan, or idea anyways, is to be posting my artwork on here, and my photography on DA. I would move everything over here, except that 1) I have a lot of friends who like to watch my photography, but aren't necessarily very fur oriented themselves, so inviting them to FA doesn't seem like a great idea. The other thing is FA is a community of artists, and while photography is an art, it rarely has anything even loosely anthro-based in it's content, so I don't know if it's entirely the right place to be posting all my photography. Also, by not cross-posting, it helps push me to do more with my pencil and paper. Thoughts on this are appreciated of course.
In other related news, I found an old pencilcase from high school with, oh, a whole 60 pencil set of Laurentians in it, barely used. :) Score one for me. Add that to the graphic pencils I recently bought, and I'm pretty good for sketching in analog, which was the idea. :) I'm not a huge fan of Photoshop coloring, not in other people's art you understand, but just in how one goes about it. It seems much easier to just break out the color pencils. It's not as shiny, but it doesn't need to be either. So now I have no excuse.
In other unrelated news, we almost all got arrested at the VI Fur Meet! :D J/K about the happiness, but seriously, could've happened. Here's the skinny: <a href="http://www.furry.ca/forum/index.php.....t;>Furry.ca Forums - VI Furs April Meet thread</a>.
Lastly, there are some absolutely FANTASTIC artists in this community, and to my surprise, a lot of "fat fur" artists, despite the bashing that they tend to get at the hands of those who don't understand fat fetishism. I feel like this is one of few places I can openly show my appreciation for said art. I have a general "fat fetish problem", as it were. Planet sized furs don't really work for me, but the plump or chubby artwork is just... well, yeah. (This interest manifests itself in real life too, again, chubby = love). It's comforting to see I'm not the only weirdo. :) I'm going to try and incorporate this interest into some of my artwork, not all of it mind you, and would appreciate any input experienced fat furs can give me. :)
Think that's all for now. Gonna go try and draw SOMETHING. Argh. I can do this. I'm just rusty, right?

They're Coming
Posted 16 years agoSo yeah. Work today from 11-4, then groceries, then cleanup/reorg on a huge scale in my wee little apartment, and then FINALLY some time to DRAW SOMETHING. And whatever it is, it is being posted up as the first official drawing I've made in like 5 years. No promises on the quality, but I'll give it my best. :)
So excited. I'm pretty sure my sketchbooks were going to run away from home soon.

Hamburgers
Posted 16 years agoI just had a hamburger for dinner, and DAMN it was delicious. You know how you get that meat craving? Yep. I do.
Vancouver!
Posted 16 years agoSo, I had my sick, sorry ass dragged to Vancouver yesterday, and it was definitely worth the pain and agony. First and foremost, driving in Vancouver isn't nearly as bad as I had imagined it would be. I had to take a cruise through Downtown to get to our hotel at about 4:30 on a Friday afternoon, and yeah it was a gong show, but not an unexpected gong show. Driving back the next day (Saturday morning) was even easier, although I did manage to take the long way (Marine Dr) to Horseshoe Bay and had to backtrack to get into the ferry terminal (made the 12:30 sailing with 3 minutes to spare).
Then there's what we got up to. Friday afternoon was the Vancouver Aquarium, which I've posted some pictures of and might post a few more tonight. The Aquarium itself was awesome; I hadn't been there since I was probably 5 or 6. I had to buy more film in their gift shop, and man, ouch. $30+ for three rolls of Fuji 800. I was surprised they still had film in the gift shop, and grateful too, but ouch. Was totally worth it for some of the pictures I took, however. We got the best seat in the house for the dolphin show too.
Then there was Friday night and, lo, Pendulum at the Commodore Ballroom. I'd never been to the Commodore, and I have one word: fukinawesome. Pendulum was AMAZING live. I danced, and danced, and then danced some more. There was over 1000 people in the place, and it definitely felt like it. Was up until 2, and then went to bed with "Tarantula" stuck in my head. So awesome.
Saturday morning was, well, ugh. Sore, tired, and a little confused. I had to pick up my pictures from the Granville LD because I thought it would be a great idea to have them developed there instead of at home. Then we had breakfast at Cafe Crepe (that was excellent!), and proceeded to get lost finding the ferry. :) The rest is history.
T'was a great weekend. All that's left to deal with now is "Spring Ahead". Ugh. I like sleep, thank you very much.

I Swear I'm Not Just Lurking :D
Posted 16 years agoSo, I guess this is hello everyone? I've been interested in the fandom for quite some time, but only recently decided I was going to get into the art part of our community. I've been writing for a long while too, so expect to see some of that mixed in with some pencil on paper. Part of the drive to do this was the want to draw my fursona, and the lack of people I know well enough to ask to do this for me. So, here it goes. I'll try to have something to demonstrate the "starting point" of my skills here shortly, thereby getting me out of lurk mode.
In other earth based news, lookin forward to this month's VI Fur meet. I found a copy of Brutal: Fists Of Fury for SuperNES, which is possibly the best (and only?) furry themed button mashing ass-kicker to be released. Should be lots of fun *whimpers* I miss you guys *wanty paws* Maybe I'll even bring my crappy art with me (okay, I promise I won't get into that self-depreciating artist routine, I just can't tell you it's great right now).
Stay Tooned.
