Anybody Know any Cosplay Suit Makers?
Posted 10 years agoAs in, suit makers who will accept commissions of characters from something else?
I know there's a serious gray area on this. There are plenty of people who refuse commissions like that, but I know there are others who will take them! I just...don't exactly know who.
All I need is a head. The rest of this costume is done. Just need someone to do this last furry part for me. Help out a talentless nerd, huh?

FWA Bound
Posted 10 years agoSo, I actually am going to FWA next week. Gonna give this new hotel a shot. Let's see how it goes!
Thoughts on Furry Weekend Atlanta...
Posted 10 years agoYeah...think I'm gonna pass on FWA.
I thought about giving it another try at this new hotel, but there's still one thing that's kinda breaking it for me: parking. Parking in Atlanta is just completely #$%@ing insane! The time I did go, the parking fee alone was my single biggest expense. So unless someone wants to carpool and maybe split the godawful parking expenses, to heck with that price-gouging city. Especially so soon after another convention!
Atlanta, I shall not miss thee. Dallas will be my early-year destination from now on!

Need a Furry Fiesta Room, Pronto! [NOT ANYMORE! :D]
Posted 11 years agoCrapbuckets, time is running out quickly!
Seriously, anybody still have some space? Heck, I might already have a spot with someone, but they're leaving early. Even if someone will have some space just for Sunday will work for me! Preferably I'd rather not have to worry about switching rooms and be in just one all weekend, but I'll take what I can get at this point!
*dragon puppy eyes*
EDIT: Got one! Ginormous thank you to
spyfox02!

Posted 11 years agoSweet crap! They weren't kidding when they said time starts to fly when you grow up. I'm still finding it hard to believe that 2014 is over. And now Furry Fiesta is already creeping up! I knew the con was early in the year, but not THIS early! I enjoyed the heck out of that con and definitely want it to be a regular one!
So...um...anybody looking for a roomie?

Not Like I Enjoy Privacy or Anything...
Posted 11 years agoGee, thanks Paypal. Thanks for calling my parents (Why the heck did it call them?) and telling them about what I do with my money. I can see the bullcrap now! *sigh* It's my money, what does it matter what I do with it? They're so nosy and irritating at times. I'm not stupid...well, not entirely. I know what I can spend like a careless jackoff and what to save!
Although still...they do have a point when they chew me out. Fursuits really are kind of ridiculous, huh? That's a lot of money for something that can (usually) only be brought out for certain occasions. And I kinda do have enough as is. 4 is plenty for one guy...make that 5. Although It'll probably be back down to 4 in a couple months, as I do have plans to sell one soon.
I don't know why I'm raving about this. It's not like my parents wouldn't learn I threw away money on another suit eventually. I guess it just bugs me that they know exactly how much it was...seriously Paypal, dick move. And mommy and daddy, cut the umbilical cord already! I'm a self-sufficient adult now! *sigh* I'm in one of my "ranty" moods today.
...
Although I do wonder if this "fursuit addiction" (for lack of better term) of mine might be getting a bit out of hand...

Some Furry Hilarity
Posted 11 years agoWell, while I'm kicking it at Megaplex, I'll leave you fine folks with a couple of funny furry videos I came across a while back. Both of these have been out for a decent bit, so you may have seen them already, but if not...
Put Em Down
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2_8cfVpXbo
It's the serious tone and situation in contrast to "Firedash's" oblivious naivete that makes this one messed up but funny. And do I even wanna know what the heck "tri-gender" is? For anyone who had parents that overreacted to the whole furry thing, at least your mom isn't Rachael Livingston.
Furry Force [Heads up, gratuitous amounts of boobage and bulges in this one.]
http://www.collegehumor.com/video/6.....-gross#!bkDkul
Where do I even start on this one!? This is an absolute goldmine of satire on some of the more ridiculous patterns seen in the fandom, and it is glorious from start to finish. And someone please cosplay Victor Vivisector and freak out over stuff at a furcon. I would love to see that.
EDIT: It has come to my attention at Megaplex that there is a "Furry Force 2."

Only 2 weeks away!? (Megaplex Journal)
Posted 11 years agoYikes. Still never found anyone to ride and/or room with at Megaplex...
I'll still hold on to some small sliver of hope, though! Anyone still needing to split room costs? And anyone near southern Mississippi needing to split gas costs?
It's almost here, but I'm not giving up yet! Time to redouble my efforts! (Come to think of it, FWA went like this, too. Didn't get room situation set up until near last minute. Deja-vu...)

So, def wanna do Megaplex.
Posted 11 years agoAny friends of mine going and have a room? Or maybe know anyone who does?
Hm, it looks like they take debit cards on the hotel's site. Maybe I could renew mine and see about actually reserving a room myself for a change. Then I'd be worried I couldn't find peeps to split with, though...
EDIT: Ouch. Realizing Orlando's a bit further than I realized...

So how'd FWA work out this year? And Megaplex, perhaps?
Posted 11 years agoI'm curious to how FWA went this time around. I skipped it this year because it was just too much of a cluster#@%$ last year. They said it would be better, but I was too skeptic. So I'm wondering from those that went how Elevator-con was this time around? Should I maybe give it another chance next year?
Also, Megaplex is a con I've been tossing around the idea of hitting up for a while now. Need to get out some more and see some new places! Maybe I should start looking for someone to mooch...er...I mean, share a room with. :D

Room Space at Furry Fiesta Available!
Posted 12 years ago
frostbear and me have a room reserved for TFF coming up soon, but due to some issues, we need another roommate to help lower the cost! Anybody looking for some space still should hit him up, ASAP! We'd both appreciate it, as I'm looking seriously forward to this; as I'm sure he is too!Should I go to Furry Fiesta?
Posted 12 years agoI've been getting pretty stir-crazy lately. I gotta get out of here! An easy desk job is nice and all but holy crap is it boring. I looked for upcoming conventions and Furry Fiesta is at the end of next month and doesn't seem ridiculously far. How is it? Anyone recommend it as a good con? Any of my friends going?
Neat looking Banjo-Kazooie-esque platformer!
Posted 12 years agoBatties! <3
Posted 12 years agoThere seems to be a decent influx of bats in the fandom lately.
And I'm 100% okay with this. <3

It's not much longer until MFM. About 2 months, but they'll go quick no doubt.
Crap, I need to get to making plans!!!

FWA Report
Posted 12 years agoWednesday: Drove for 7 hours...ass was sore, and pretty sure I forgot how to walk. Seriously, if you'd seen me stumbling when I stopped for Chick-fil-a... I arrived around 5 (I think) and suited a bit. Of course there wasn't dick to do.
Thursday: Uneventful. Still nothing to do. Just some suiting/attention-whoring on and off during the day. And trying to learn the layout of the hotel. And really racking up the 3DS Streetpass tags.
Friday: Decided to participate in the fursuit games as I always do...after getting some shots from Furshoot. I ended up getting my knee hurt pretty bad and dropped out. MFM's games are some weak shit... You people are out for blood at FWA... I don't think I'm competing in the games anymore out of fear for more serious injury, and damage to my suit. I swear someone was trying to rip my head off at some point, and almost broke my glasses in the process... Fucking psychopaths... I can't really think of anything else big from this day. I called it a day early because too much suiting and walking around from the previous days was catching up to me and combined with my now fucked up knee...I couldn't go on. Oh yeah, and at some point during this day, I had to wait an hour for an elevator. A GOD#%@$ HOUR TO GET ON THE ELEVATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MAN, FUCK THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saturday: Fursuit parade! Holy shit that took a while. Over 380 suiters!!! And there were plenty more I know didn't participate. My legs felt much better today, and my knee hardly hurt at all. I participated in the performing panel hosted by Yippee. I guess I'm a bit better at performing in front of people now. Still, I'm nervous as shit when I know I'm being watched and possibly judged... Seems being in fursuit doesn't help my shyness much.
Sunday: OH FUCK, MY KNEE!!! After Saturday, my knee did a 180 and hurt like hell most of the day (Again, you fucking psychopaths...). I suited only once Sunday (if you know me, you know damn well I'm suiting A LOT MORE than once a day at a con), but that session lasted almost 4 hours (didn't even realize). So I quit earlier than I planned for the night. I also bio-hazarded the hotel room with dragon taco shits. BEHOLD THE POWER OF MY RANCHERA CHICKEN FAJITA!!!! After resting a while, I decided to check out the dead dog dance. Just kinda stood there for a while being awkward, but I finally hit the dance floor for a bit. Didn't even know I could move my legs like that... Was having fun, then the coursing pain shot through my legs. The weekend had caught up to me. -_-
Monday: Man, fuck driving...
Other bits of of interesting events:
Was told I smelled gay... I'm not using Axe Phoenix anymore...
The next day I was hit on by a gay guy... He seemed pretty crushed when I said I was straight.
Fanboyed over some cosplay suits. A cool Ratchet and the best Fox McCloud I've seen! And there was this AWESOME Lucario that I may have inadvertently stalked for a bit. :3
Cryo was out for a bit, I fanboyed over him a bit, too.
Quite a few awesome dragon suits over the con, especially Drathek! Omigawd, so awesome!!!!
There was this ADORABLE pudgy triceratops that I absolutely loved, too!
The 3DS Streetpass tags! My God, the Streetpass tags!!! ERVRYWHUR!!!!!!!! Yet I couldn't find someone to play Pokémon. Had a round of Mario Kart 7 with a full group of 8 people, which was shocking. I scream "Eat a dick!" A LOT while playing competitively...
Kinda wanna go back to FWA, but don't want to go back to the Westin...

Anyone want a dragon room-mate for FWA?
Posted 13 years agoHey my furry brethren! It's Dracian here, with another (as per usual, *sigh*) selfish request! As you may (or may not) know, I've been thinking of giving FWA a shot for a while now. I've been saving up cash quite a lot lately, so this year is very possible! So that brings me to the point; anyone looking for someone to split a room with?
I'm pretty sure I meet the requirements of "decent" roommate: bathes, pays fair share, tries to mind own business. Will have one or two full fursuits, depending on how travel will work out.
So...yeah. Don't think there's much else to say. If you're looking for someone to split room expense with, hit me up. If not but you know someone, feel free to lead me in their direction or them to me. While MFM is great, I wanna go somewhere different and new, ya know? Experience a new atmosphere, meet new people. Help a fur out in expanding his wings a bit, please? Getting to go to a new con would be a pretty sweet birthday present, too. It seems to be falling right around my birthday this year!

A journal of thoughts...or something...I'm not really sure.
Posted 13 years agoLately I find myself deep in thought. For some unknown reason, I found myself thinking to the controversy around this nutty fandom. Then I just started to write shit down. It eventually turned into...this. I don't really know why I'm putting it on my journal. I guess I just feel like publicy spilling out the contents of my brain.
___________________________________________________________________________
I'm gonna straight out say it: furries and fursuiting is weird. But what exactly is normal other than a matter of opinion? It's cliche, but diversity is the spice of life. Can you truly judge something until you've experienced it? No, you can not. I used to think furries were a bunch of crazies myself a few years back. Eventually I just thought, "What do these people see in it?" Eventually curiosity got the better of me (as it always does...pretty sure it's gonna kill me one day) and I said "Fuck it!" I truly was curious. "What is it physically like inside one of those costumes?" "Can you truly get so lost in character?" "Can something no doubt so unbearably sweaty truly be so fun as to create a subculture?" Eager as always to answer all questions that pop into my head, I dove in. I got into contact with other furries, I commissioned my own fursuit, and decided to experience it first hand. We all form thoughts on things we don't truly understand, but they are nothing more than opinion. And when it comes to how one should live their life, is there truly such a thing as fact?
But on with my personal experience with "furry." With the suit on, suddenly everything was just more fun. It really does let you look at things through a different set of eyes. The world seems to act more positively towards you. A fursuiter is definitely more approachable and likable to majority, it seems. But I guess something soft, cute, and fuzzy probably would be compared to a pasty, nerdy kid with bad skin. XD
I had heard the word used, and I definitely thought it was crazy, but then I saw: There really is a "magic" to this most...erm...unique of hobbies. It's just a fun method of expression, of taking on a new personality, and also of showing off art, in a sense.
Now, much controversy surrounds the "dark side" of the fandom. No sugar-coating here: It's there. But aren't all humans, even a bit, obsessed with sex in some small regard? Maybe out of pure perversion, or maybe due to just the way their brain is wired, people will fap to ANYTHING. Fetishes aren't a furry-exclusive thing (although I am somewhat alarmed at how many seem to be...), they're everywhere! There are "dark sides" in EVERYTHING!!! I assure around half the people in your neighborhood you think are completely decent and innocent have some sort of fucked up thing they're hiding. It's just one of those things that is and you can't do anything about. In all things you have to take the good with the bad.
This goes to all people, furry and "normal" alike; feel free and proud to defend and follow what you enjoy, but not blindly. Open your eyes, look around you, and admit: Things aren't perfect, but they're definitely not wrong.

MFM Roomies...Please?
Posted 13 years agoWow...I thought by asking 5 months ago I'd for sure had find someone to room with/split room expenses with by now...
The con is only a month away and I'm still hanging high and dry...
Don't leave a furry brother hanging! Cutting loose at this convention every year is really the only thing keeping my sanity in check. It's kind of a necessity at this point. XD

MFM Journal of a Procrastinating Dipshit
Posted 13 years agoSo like an idiot I (once again) haven't made any plans for MFM. Instead of waiting until the last minute like last year. Any friends of mine who have some extra space? As anyone who's roomed with me before knows, I try to be courteous and gladly pay my fair share.
Just thought I'd ask ahead of time this year instead of scrambling to ask everyone who's already filled up and only getting a last minute room by pure luck and a good friend's generosity.
So...yeah. A selfish request by yours truly...it seems that's all I do here...
Although a big reason for this is that (as far as my knowledge goes) you need a credit card to make a hotel reservation like this, and I'm a little lacking there. And have no intention of ever getting one.

Just a random observation...
Posted 14 years agoIt seems like all the fursuiters I'd love to meet are gonna be at MFF...
Man I wish I could go.
I don't even know why I'm saying this, I just felt like I should update my virtual dust collecting journal. You can tell I have nothing interesting to say...
IGNORE ME!!!

Traveling to MFM
Posted 14 years agoWell, I'll be heading to MFM this weekend, which will be a freaking blast!
Although, to any of my friends reading this...got any spare space in your car?
I mean, I'll drive up there if I have to, but...
1) I hate driving long distances.
2) My car's been giving me serious trouble lately...hell, this one should be first. Would suck if my car died 6 hours away from home...
3) All my friends already know this one...but I have NO sense of direction. -_-
Lol, I know. Random and selfish request. And I'm sure everyone who's going already has their vehicles' packed to the brim. But if someone doesn't mind giving some taxi service. XD It never hurts to ask, ya know?

Understanding
You are willing to take the time to find out what's going on with other people, especially if they're in distress. You're a good listener, you don't criticize, and you offer unbiased, respectful, honest advice when it's requested. With a high score on the "understanding" trait, it is likely that you are enthusiastic about charitable work, helping others, and making the world a better place.
You don't feel the need to impose your standards on others or say things that, even though true, cause pain.
Passionate
You are in touch with your emotions, and sometimes you react before you think. The good news: you don't tamp down your feelings. The bad news: you sometimes say or do things that you later wish you could take back.
You do not live your life on an even keel; you do not go for long periods without experiencing some mood swings.
Sympathetic
You have a knack for knowing what's going on in the hearts and minds of those around you, without their having to tell you explicitly. People tend to turn to you with their problems because they know you care, and that you will likely offer good advice and a helping hand.
You do not feel that people with sad stories are just looking for attention, or have brought their problems upon themselves.
Accessible
You're comfortable expressing yourself in words and actions, with no self-censorship. You believe that if someone doesn't like what they see it's not your problem, but theirs. A high score on the "accessible" trait suggests that you have a lot of friends, socialize often, and enjoy rap/hip-hop music.
You don't see the need to keep your thoughts to yourself, or to have a zone of privacy that encompasses only yourself and a small circle of friends and relatives.
Warm
You have a genuine interest in other people. You're a natural host, and are always thinking about how you can increase the happiness of those around you. When friends have problems or are in trouble, you're usually the first person they turn to for aid and comfort. Scoring high on the "warm" trait suggests that you are among those who enjoy domestic activities — doing things around the house — and are enthusiastic about charitable work, helping others, and making the world a better place.
You don't always say exactly what you're thinking; you don't like the idea of causing anyone pain because of your criticism.
Upbeat
You enjoy being around others and others enjoy being around you. You have a "live and let live" attitude; because you know that no one's perfect, you are forgiving and happy to give the benefit of the doubt.
You don't feel the need to be controversial or express contrary opinions all the time. You see no reason to go around rubbing people the wrong way.
Empathetic
You are in touch with your own feelings, which helps put you in touch with the feelings of others.
You don't buy the logic that your happiness comes ahead of everyone else's because unless you're happy you're incapable of making anyone else happy.
Aesthetic
You appreciate art, beauty, and design; you know that they are not superficial but absolutely crucial to living the good life. You have good taste, and you're proud of it. Those with a high score on the "aesthetic" trait are often employed in literary or artistic professions, enjoy domestic activities — doing things around the house — and are enthusiastic about the arts, reading, and travel.
You don't think it's pretentious to be moved by art and beauty. You're not one of those who believe it doesn't matter what something looks like as long as it does its job.
Creative
You are good at solving problems, coming up with original ideas, and seeing connections between things, connections that most other people miss. People with a high score on the "creative" trait often are employed in such fields as finance and scientific research, and enjoy avant garde and classical music as well as literary fiction and scholarly non-fiction.
You do not shun abstractions and concepts in favor of the concrete and tangible.
Original
You are constantly coming up with new ideas. For you, the world as it exists is just a jumping-off place; what's going on inside your mind is often more interesting than what's going on outside.
You don't feel that the road to success is to be a realist and stick to the program; you never stop yourself from coming up with new ideas or telling the world what you're thinking about.
