Proud of myself for being consistent for like a year and a half while finishing up uni.
After I graduate in December, I'm going to have a lot more time to do fun shit and make things. Maybe go to some meets?
No longer will I remain, gritty with the dregs of capitalism.
Assuming I can find a good job within the next hundred or so days.
If not, hopefully also in the next hundred or so days, give or take, there'd be more traction with game stuff.
Gotta become more consistent with that shit as well tbh.

General | Posted 5 months agoYeah I'm using it now. I still hate it. I miss the way old FA looks, but I need to get used to this weird and wacky version if I'm going to start using this site again more often.
Enjoy a bunch of sprites because I've been thinking about it for a while but no one has stopped me from posting all the sprites I have for the game I'm working on as singles. So have fun as I trickle out the art.

We're going to be doing a bunch of stuff over the next few months since there's some 'summer time off' for me somewhat. At least less of a workload and we can be more consistent with posting or whatever.
Liam has the social medias on lockdown, and we're figuring out how we're going to section out more stuff here. But in the meantime, it's best that I rant in the journals to keep things Poppin
Anyway. Here's some stuff to think about.
Last year on January 1st, like maybe in 2024 or something I said I wanted to start making a game, because I was playing around with some engines.
Over that year since like, last May (Last summer break) I've been doubling down on building the right habits to get it done, so finally I have a nice little queue of things I can start posting around.
With that, this summer, I want to actually Finish Making this game (At least a demo or something). Which is neat because I have collected a bunch of art and inspiration for art +Notes n shit and some pre-demo stuff I've been screwing around with over the last twelve months.
Now we just have to put it all together! Pretty grand. Looking forward to posting more often over the next 3 or 4 months and ideally get a nice little backlkog rolling again.

I'm counting down the days until it's done.
Maybe in a year when I reevaluate how much I hate myself, I may get my Master's.
Depends on how much I truly hate myself and money tbh.
This semester is a big one.
May be my last one full-time on campus.

Just been getting a lot of planning and whatnot taken care of.

Tomorrow I have to go and do a bunch of social stuff.
A week of housekeeping/cleaning/prep.
Then a week of recruitment.
Thirteen more weeks before another significant 'check-in'.
All of that is going to feel like a blur as it's going by, but I'm really glad to see more blue-highlighted-journals in my Recent Journals section.
Maybe I'll try to make it a goal to post stuff outside of discord/telegram at least once a week or something?

I have a bunch of sprites done and some base game, (at least enough for me to feel comfortable sharing).
Hmu if you're interested in seeing some early builds.
All the speed paints for the sprites can be seen by all Patreon Followers . Which is completely free, only downside is just that you'd need a Patreon account.
I don't like the idea of pay walling any of my artwork. Anyone can see all of my new stuff, I'm just lacking so hard with actually posting it on here. Big upside though is that you guys can see clips of the speed paints and some full vids without even needing to sign up.
Trying to break down a bunch of artist stigmas around Patreon I suppose? Use the site a bit creatively, I think.
Anyway. I have AI generated backgrounds in the game right now, so I'm just sharing everything holistically right now here and there until I can get a few more features taken care of, then I'll figure out how to handle official releases.

Chronic character flaw.

Usually though, I feel like that's kind of 'spammy' and 'too much content to put out there'.
...With the amount of content people are filtering through daily though, it kind of makes me feel like I just need to get over myself and post every day and probably do things that me ten years from now would cringe at. What can I say, しょうがない (shō ga nai). Y'know it can't be helped.
That's whatever though. Anyway, how many of you guys remember those Humongous Entertainment games like Freddi Fish, Putt putt, Spy-fox etc? Lately, I can't stop thinking about that one mini-game from spy-fox: Dry Cereal game.
Real nostalgia right there.

Politics and creativity
General | Posted 11 months agoSo everyone's been telling me not to get 'political' with my art, despite wanting to since I was too young for it to make sense; me being this way.
That was like fifteen years ago, and nowadays it's more common for people to be successful while also using their creative outlet to actually say something with their art.
At least in some other creative spheres, it makes sense, in this one, kinda didn't for a while.
No worries though, times are changing.
My biggest goal right now is finding the right way to interface that creativity with people such that the message would be enjoyable to digest.
That was like fifteen years ago, and nowadays it's more common for people to be successful while also using their creative outlet to actually say something with their art.

Figuring out how I'd go about that. Lots of element drawing, unless I figure something else out with all my characters.
I'd probably do characters from both Day in a Life and Lucky bc same universe.
Is a historical fiction-based-on-real-life in a fictional world called: Historical Fiction? Still, or is it now "Fiction Historical?"

What if I move everything to the scraps and 'start a new' in my main gallery?
Can you still find art via tags if it's in your scraps? Maybe I should just pile everything old in an 'everything old' folder or something.

In about a week, I'll have all the time to do that. Here's my housekeeping to-do list
