Badvibe is ending...but it will be back
Posted 10 years agoYep you read the title right, I'm stopping Badvibe, but NOT forever. How do I mean?
Well simply put, the current pages of Badvibe are just not up to snuff, not artistically, not in terms of writing, nothing. But they could be…
Rather than just redrawing them and leaving it at that, I want it to be the best it can be in every aspect
So I figure I'll start again from scratch, but not now.
I'm currently enrolled in the pre-animation and illustration course at Algonquin College. I took it so I could improve my artwork, and I intend to also improve my writing on my own time. So by the time I end this course I’ll probably be more satisfied with my work and will be comfortable enough to start over.
But why the sudden change of heart? Well I don't know if I've told you guys this, but I want online comics and art to be my livelihood, this is how I want to sustain myself financially, doing something I love.
So much so that me and a couple other people have begun preparations for something far larger than just Badvibe, a whole slew of webcomics, under one company, "Industry Zero Publications", an online comic publishing company we want to start, we're still in the early planning phases, but Badvibe is meant to be the first in several online webcomic series spanning several universes, time periods, tones, etc etc
But it can’t be that if it looks the way it does, and is written the way it is
Badvibe as of right now is sloppy, even if you enjoy it, you have to admit there’s no way it could ever be considered "professional". But that’s what it needs to be, professional, it needs to be drawn well, written well, and have the great multi layered characters I wanted to make from the get go. But that’s going to take time.
Don’t be sad though, because Badvibe isn’t going away, not at all! In fact I’m going to try harder than ever, not just to get you guys excited for it, but to get you guys involved!
I want to hear your input, critique my work, and suggest some ideas. Hell, even help me rp to develop the characters more!
I want this to be in a strange way, a community project! Like we all contributed something to making this webcomic better, and opening the flood gates to all sorts of new ideas!
And if you’re worried you won’t see Badvibe in your feeds on the art sites it’s available on, or Tumblr or wherever, don’t worry, because you’ll still be getting plenty of that, I’ll be posting concept art and what not, and trying to keep you guys in the development loop this way Badvibe won’t fade into nothingness for like a year because I decided I wanted to be all secretive lol.
I know this is all quite a bit to absorb, I was anxious as hell to post this because I know that a lot of you do enjoy Badvibe, and despite its quality, I’ve enjoyed writing and drawing it. But there’s no way I’ll be able to truly make it as good as I want it to if I’m still being weighed down by high school art and writing.
For the record, I’m not getting rid of the old pages flat out, that’d be ridiculous, they’ll still be available to find on my art sites and of course on comic fury, but I won’t be updating this version anymore.

My mom got it for me for school since I'm finally going to college for pre-animation and illustration to improve my art so I can work towards making art my full time job!
I don't know how much this will impact my artistic output come school time, but I'll update you guys when I know more.

The legalizing of gay marriage in the states has made me super happy, and I've regained my drive for art and making comics! So Badvibe is also off hiatus!

I'm going away for awhile
Posted 10 years agoNot as in on a trip, I'm going dark in terms of art for awhile, I'm just too fucking angry and depressed and the last thing I wanna do is even look at SAI or making comics or whatever..
I know its not fair to you guys but I can't work in this condition, I'm going to schedule an appointment with my doctor so I can get a referral to talk to a psychiatrist, cause I need the help, I'm at my wits end.
I have one more piece of art to do for a friend, but after that I'm done.
I'll let you know when everything's back on track
