Revvin’ [back] up!
General | Posted 3 years agoBoy howdy, has this account been in need of some TLC! Just been lacking the time/motivation to make stuff I can actually post over here…. But that’s [hopefully] gonna change this year!
Why have things been lacking?
For those not in the know, I actually juggle accounts. This one’s for personal and “general” content, while the other one is more for commissioned and “indulgent” works (if you’re curious and are an adult, note me for the account). And because commissioned work is a primary form of work/income for me, that’s been getting the majority of my attention work-wise.
So what’s the plan going forward?
Commission work on the other account will still take top priority, but what I’m sincerely hoping to do is find/make more time for stuff I can post over here. I’ve legit been missing sharing concepts and ideas of Project: Waves and other ambitions. I thankfully have a teensy bit of older stuff to share, so they’re gonna be going up really soon, if they haven’t yet~
I also need to re-up my portfolio and have some new stuff to share with casual folks when they ask what I do and/or if they can see what I do :V
Away from art stuff, I’m also hoping to get back into Let’s Playing or jumping into consistent streaming (whether art or games). I actually used to do a lot of the former around the early 2010s, but fell off due to stagnation. Looking at the landscape now, though, there’s never been a better time to jump back in!
Alsooooooo, I’ve been doing a podcast with a childhood friend. We suck at archiving our old episodes, but we’re gonna work on that the next time we get recording again! Which should be very soon!
Geez, so much to do...
That’s all for now!
Shout out to all the folks still sticking around, and especially those who +Watch'd in the last two years despite nothing really happening here since then. Gonna do my best to avoid that same radio silence if I can!

Gonna get bodied @ the official Smash Bros. NA Open today!
General | Posted 6 years agoLast minute announcement: I'm competing in the Super Smash Bros Ultimate North American Open 2019 today!
Me and 11 other players will be separated into three person teams for 3v3 Squad Strike, and only one will come out on top.
As I'm typing this, the Splatoon event is going on, but the Smash event should start around 1pm (EST), assuming Splatoon doesnt run long.
You can find info and the stream on Nintendo's official site: https://events.nintendo.com
Look for DTFaux, and I'm playing with the North East team!
I'll try to respond where I can, but otherwise, I'll definitely do so after things wrap up~
LET'S GO!!

A month into 2019 already?? (Plans and stuff)
General | Posted 7 years agoHey everyone! Hope 2019 has been treating you guys decently so far!
Seeing as it’s been literally over a year since the last journal on this account, it’s definitely time to give an update on the plan ahead:
Go Pro, Freelance, or Indie (whichever comes first)!
I’ve always wanted to do any of the above three, but I’ve never really taken the full initiative to get there. Between the small flow of personal work and just online commissions, I’ve kinda been floating around that “semi-pro” level. So I’d like to put more of myself into it than I have before.
For one, I need to put in the time to add new things to my dormant portfolio (necessary for freelance and studio hiring). I also need to hone my current skills and pick up new ones. Fortunately, I have access to a few "industry standard" programs, so I just need to put in the footwork now and reach out of my comfort zone a bit more.
More personal work
Ever since I designated a different account to separate commissions and alternative content from personal work, this one hasn’t gotten a lot of attention over the past few years.
Over the last few months, I’ve been trying to turn that around by narrowing down and planning what stories/series I’d really like to work on. With any luck, I should be able to start showing updates and actual progress more consistently around here between the end of February and beginning of March. Fingers crossed!
Socialize a bit more
I tend to be the type that prefers a lot of "me time" while being content with the small circle of friends I have (and occasionally make). Still, I’d like to be a bit more active in the communities I’m part of; become less of a hermit/lurker, and maybe bump it up to being a recluse or wall flower.
...Can’t wait to back the flip down on that front! V:
There’s more I wanna say and do, but I’ll save them for another journal~
Onward, I guess!

New Year's 2018 Journal: DT-Fox Edition
General | Posted 8 years agoI don't wanna bog this journal down too much, so I'll keep it short and sweet:
-A lot of art and productive stuff I wanna finally do this year
-I wanna become a bit more social
-I wanna get fit
-I wanna get paid $$$
With only 353 days left in the year, can I pull it off?
Maybe. V:
Hope you guys had a good holiday and hope you all make the most out of this new year!

Aww yeah, 25 years old! (Persoanl Plans and LP plug)
General | Posted 10 years agoI mean, that was three days ago (Nov. 20th), but the fact of the matter is that it doesn’t feel that much different from 24. V:
The only thing that has changed is the heavier weight of knowing that the clock is ticking and complacency is the devil, so it might be finally, FINALLY time to get a move on with junk. After all, 30 will be here before I know it!
On the top of my priorities is definitely:
1) Be more social on a personal and community level. So many folks I’ve met IRL and constantly see around the web, but I don’t make THE BEST effort to keep in touch with them. There’s also stuff I’ve made but have just been too lazy to submit. Gotta fix all-a dat.
2) Learn 3D modeling and animating. I’ve always wanted to learn, but I never properly put in the time. Well that time is NOW! Or the immediate future!... Definitely sooner than later!
3) Kick off and consistently update at least one of my many ambitious projects. I can keep developing concepts all day, but none of that matters if I don’t actually tell the stories. I’ll likely make a poll to gauge interest in what I should concentrate on.
4) Either go full on Freelance or land a career-grade job. No more irrelevant, minimum wage jobs. I gotta become a salary man. Build that 401K. Invest in stocks and bonds. At the very least, actually have my accounts pass low triple digits for longer than a few days. :U
There’s a lot to do and I’m not getting any younger~
---
Bonus Priority) I need to promote the stuff I do more!
Did you guys know I have a Let’s Play channel? Do you care? If not, that’s cool. But if you do care, I’m currently uploading episodes featuring my friend,
cj-fox (he no longer uses that account) and myself playing Super Mario Maker! Why not give it a look-see and laugh at our pain and shenanigans? V:

I'm heading to Anthrocon!
Gonna meet up with old friends, hopefully meet new folks, and beast on EVERYONE that challenges me at Smash 4. Already see there’s gonna be some traditional and amiibo-based tournaments… I’m-a be ready, boy!
If you’re looking to spot me and chat it up, I should be walking around with updated Smash Bros. badges (seen here --> http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17056355/), but if all else fails, look for one of the three 6’1” black guys with a baseball cap walking around the con. High chance one of them is me. V:

Birthday, Animation plans, Past Smash Tourney, etc.
General | Posted 11 years agoBurthday
So... I'm-a be 24 in almost 11 days... I don't know how I feel about that. BUT what I do know is that suddenly I'm getting that personal productivity itch again. Meaning...
Project Plans
It's about time I tried to set a bit more time towards personal projects. I'm working on a few scripts for short animations, along with several episodes for a Pokemon fanimation. Naturally, I'm gonna need some voices for them, so if anyone's interested in providing their voices, look out for some updates for auditions! I'm trying my best to make as much of the projects diverse so everyone would have a chance to take part.
Smash Bros
Man, I just can't STOP playing Smash 3DS. According to the stats, I've clocked in over 230 hours into this game!I don't have a problem And the Wii U one is only gonna take up more of my time when it hits a day after my birthday. That and Pokemon ORAS.
And speaking of Smash, I did promise I'd report on the event I went to a few weeks back. Suffice to say, I was eliminated in the first round. I didn't really expect to win, but I'd have liked to at least make it to round two. Additionally, being up in Times Square wasn't as exciting as I was hoping it would be, but that might be because I have done the NYC tour more times than I can count in my life. Fortunately (and surprisingly) a friend I knew from down south actually won in the GA region, so I got to be an honorary tour guide for him and his friend who've never been to NYC before. All in all, it was a fun event. Being a huge Nintendo and Smash fan attending a national event shown around the world was a once in a lifetime experience. Although, I hope it's not just once in a lifetime. Getting a taste of being on the big stage only makes me want to be back there in some form again!

Gonna compete in the Nintendo Smash Bros. 3DS Tournament!
General | Posted 11 years agoThat's right! Thanks to winning the Regional tourney in Maryland, your boy DT-Fox is gonna be duking it out with 15 other players from across the U.S. in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS Nintendo National Open Tournament at Nintendo World this Saturday! And the event is gonna be streamed on Nintendo's Twitch.tv and YouTube page this Saturday @ 6:00 PM EST!
Sure hope I don't get embarrassed getting beasted on on the world stage :V
I also plan to post updates about my experience/venture on my Tumblr (http://dt-fox.tumblr.com/) and Twitter (https://twitter.com/DTFox) in case anyone wants to see. V:
And interestingly enough, this isn't my first Nintendo hosted rodeo. I actually got to compete in the Kid Icarus: Uprising launch tournament back in 2012 (I'm the straw chewing dork in the burgundy 79 shirt).
Super excited for this weekend! :D

(Been) Back from Anthrocon!
General | Posted 11 years agoBoy, has it been 3 weeks since AC already?
For the sake of reporting back, I had a fun time. Met some old friends, met a few folks I only knew of online, and made some new friends. I really can't wait til next year!
Post con, things have been pretty busy (mostly helping family move), but now I'm in a better position to get back in the swing of things online! Additionally, I mentioned in my DA journal that I'd really love to become more socially active along side being ambitious about making personal art for this account again, so expect stuff on those two fronts.

Going to Anthrocon!
General | Posted 11 years agoI probably should've posted this a few days back, but I'm going to Anthrocon!
Plan to hang with folks, hit up the game room, and win a few tourneys (hopefully).
Maybe I'll see you there? Possibly~

Yoooooo (Generic "still alive" journal)
General | Posted 11 years agoSo as standard internet fashion when a person neglects their account for long periods of time and wants to get a previous journal off their front page, I'm obligated to say:
I'm still alive on this account and still have stuff to submit here.
Yup. :V

Two Female voices needed for an animation!
General | Posted 12 years agoSo I'm trying to do a simple little animation on top of so many other things I need to do and I need a couple of voices. There's two female roles, one for a mongoose and another for a snake. Both are sisters. (Characters can be seen here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11426424/)
The animation will be pretty short, intended to be less than 5 minutes or so.
Roles and voice preferences:
Enko (Snake)
-Female, older teen/young adult
-Little sister personality
-Easy going. A little shy and submissive, but can be independent. Ocassionally sly and mischievious
Lulu (Mongoose)
-Female, young adult
-Big Sister personality
-Caring yet authoritative, and easily irritable
How to audition
For those who want to try and voice Enko, I'll need recording of these two lines:
-"I-I didn't know it was yours! I just saw it lying around! And, well..."
-(Cheerily) "Not bad for someone with no arms and legs, right?"
For those who want to audition as voice of Lulu, I'll need recordings of these two lines:
-"What's with all these burros around here? I swear someone's gonna fall and break something..."
-(Irritated) "Can you just sit still for a moment and pay attention??"
-Send voice clips or links to dominootter@gmail.com , subject titled: "Voice Audition for Enko" or "Voice Audition for Lulu", depending on who you are auditioning for.
--I will respond to confirm that I have received your email.
-Please send auditions by August 27 before 11:59 p.m. EST.
--By the off-chance few (or heaven forbid, no one) steps up, I'll extend the deadline. But let's try not to rely on that, please.
-WAV or MP3 Preferred
-When/if I do find the preferred voices, I will make a make an announcement journal about who the VAs are, at their discretion.
Additional info and disclaimer
-There is no set completion date for the animation, but I hope to try to get it done in the next few weeks.
-VAs will be credited in the animation and description.
-Don't feel bad if you don't get the role. I have a lot of other works I plan to do in the near future, and your voice(s) could be better suited for those roles.
-Any males who feel left out, don't worry. I have some planned animations with male roles in the near future, too!
If you have any additional questions, be sure to ask in this journal or the linked submission.
Good luck! :D

Back in black, y'all! (Graduated and the comeback)
General | Posted 12 years ago*I posted up on DA a while ago, but I figured I'd give more thought here.*
I've recently graduated (more like 2 weeks ago) with a major in Studio Art and a minor in PR. Ultimately it's a mixed feeling. Like, on one hand, I'm very much glad to be done with school indefinitely. After 5 years, and 2 Academic probations (very much lucking out on that second one), I fought against all odds and completed something.
On the other hand, it feels like there's really no instant glamour to it outside the pride of it all, probably because I wont be walking until December. I just turned in my final exam, walked out of my last class, packed up my dorm, flew home (currently in Europe atm), and am just chilling in the house either trying to draw and filling out job applications. Who would've thought one would have to do more work after so much work to begin with?
But it's all good. I finally get to leave a middle of nowhere college town I had to come back to for, again, 5 years. I also get to go to events I couldn't otherwise due to school, AND I finally have more time than I know what to do with to work on projects.
This also means I have a bit more time to interact with folks around here. I feel like I've all but ditched a few friends around here (sorry about that), and I do wanna become more active person on this site, rather than JUST submit pics and run away. :V
I think that's about it. Also, there's gonna be a fair amount of submissions coming y'all's way!

DT-Fox and Friends play Smash Bros!
General | Posted 12 years agoDoing work and trying to get back into the swing of things on this account in the upcoming days!
Til then, why not enjoy a little video of me,
cj-fox and two other friends playing some Smash Bros. Brawl? :V
It's got (somewhat) witty commentary and everything!
Seriously though, there are more pics and works coming soon. V:

I'm back! And I'm on Nintendo's video! :D
General | Posted 13 years agoSo I hath returned. I had a lot of fun despite the short amount of time up there.
The short and sweet: I didn't come in first during at the Championship. But I did have a lot of fun. Everyone was really nice and easy going. I even got to visit my dad during one of the free days.
I managed to take a lot of pictures and some video clips that I hope to compile in the upcoming days (weeks?). But for now, why not check Nintendo's official coverage on the event, that I'm actually in! See if you can spot me. I'm the mook in the burgandy/mahogany/dark red "79" jersey.
And now that all my traveling is done for, its time to get back to school works and art works!
Let's GO!!

General | Posted 13 years agoSo last week Sunday, my big bro and I went on down to Orlando, FL for a little Spring Break vacation. Coincidentially(?), one of only 4 GameStops in the entire USA was hosting a Kid Icarus: Uprising preview/tournament right there in Orlando. As excited as I was for the game, I didn't care too much about attending the tourney. I mean, what were the chances of being a winner? Yet somehow, my brother convinced me to stick around and compete.
And lo and behold, I managed to pass the Elimination Round and got to move on to the Finals. And from there I managed to come in second place, overall! :D
As for the prize? Along with winning a free copy of KI:U, a $150 GameStop gift card, and a few other things, The top 3 winners from each region gets an all expense paid trip to New York City to compete in the Championship!
And for a little added motivation, the Championship prize from there is another(?) free copy of KI:U, a $500 GameStop gift card, a limited edition Kid Icarus emblazoned 3DS, a copy of Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, Pilot Wings, Starfox 64 3D, and a trophy decked out with wings.
So what went from me not caring enough to compete, becomes a free trip, free prizes, and a chance to win something bigger!
So yeah, major thanks to my bro for making me go in on it. He's also gonna be my +1 for the trip, as I get to bring a guest.
And I hope to have a travel Vlog posted to my Youtube channel ---> [ http://www.youtube.com/user/DTFaux ] when I return victorious (hopefully).
I also plan to give a little play-by-play on my Twitter (that I hardly ever use) when its time to head out ---> [ https://twitter.com/#!/DTfox ]
Good golly, I'm so excited for this! :D

Greetings from Europa!
General | Posted 14 years agoFrom the land of "God save the queen!" and the land of oversized waffles and fancy chocolates! Doing family visits and all that jazz.
I know it should go without saying that holiday break usually means less output, but I feel I should mention it out of courtesy. V:
Also, I got a funky fresh Intuos4 Medium tablet for X-mas. I'm not sure if my artwork will improve any bit, but it feels sooooooo gooooood to use compared to my old Bamboo Fun. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get a chance to use it without getting derailed by constant social and family interaction. :I </personal "problems">
Anyway, just thought a little status update was due. I'll be back at full force when I get back to Belgianland and/or the US.
You guys have a happy new year!
And to make this journal a bit interactive, do any of you guys have any New Years Resolutions? What do you plan to acheive in the next year?

Any recommended T-Shirt and/or merchandise selling sites?
General | Posted 14 years agoI've been becoming more and more interested in trying to sell t-shirts, stickers, and other merchandises, but I don't quite know which online printing site does the best job. I've already checked out a few sites including Cafepress, RedBubble, Zazzle, Printfection, Spreadshirt, and Customink, but all the different options just made picking one site more complicated...
So, does anyone have any recommendations about which site does a fair job of print quality at publically fair prices? Do you have any personal experience selling or purchasing from any online site? Anything I should avoid?
If you got any words of wisdom, I'm all ears!

Next week will be the BEST week [EVER]!
General | Posted 14 years agoCheck it:
*My school's off for Thanksgiving break. An ENTIRE week of rest and relaxation (for the most part).
*I turn 21 on November 20th. Not excited about getting older but it IS a birthday~ What would make for a good "first drink"? I'm leaning on the idea of Smirnoff Marshmallow flavor, but IDK mess about drinks. Suggestions welcome, and I promise I'll drink responsibly (if I'm not too scared to drink in the first place V: )
*Also on the 20th, Zelda Skyward Sword releases. Best birthday, or bestest birthday??
*First time ever making a Thanksgiving dinner on my own, for my big bro and myself
*Video gaming for days, brah! Skyrim, MW3, UMvC3, Sonic Generations (3DS), Skyward Sword
*Loud as heck roommates gone for the entire week
*Tons of Let's Play episodes to be done
*Drawing, drawing, and moar drawing. Perhaps even a little bit of animating?
*Sleeping in, holy schnapp! Feels good, man.
I hope this doesn't come off as bragging, but got dang, I'm pretty excited! :D

I hasth returneth from AWA.... eth.
General | Posted 14 years ago*I went up to Atlanta with my brother listening to vidja game podcasts and all that.
*Hung with my old school homie,
cj-fox.
*Finally got to meet
peacemaker9669 and we finally got to have our Smash Bros. match. Twas intense.
*Entered the Smash Bros tourney and got eliminated in the first round. I really wasn't feeling it this time... But then I cleaned house the next day during Free Play.
*Got some One Piece merchandise.
*Ate more than I should've... WAY more than I should've...
*And danced my butt off at a rave with some friends. Convention raves are the only dances where you can do the DUMBEST, LAMEST moves and get away with it. Felt good, man.
Now, I'm back at my campus. Body sore from moving almost non-stop for 2 and a half days, and I'm slowly getting my voice back from all the talking and yelling I did.
Time to get back to work, projects, and classes.
Let's go!

Going to AWA! Also, I LP Monster Hunter and Soul Calibur 2
General | Posted 14 years ago*If I accidentally double or triple posted this journal... My bad, yo.*
AWA
Yup, going to Anime Weekend Atlanta. Anyone else going? Maybe I'll see you there. As always, I'll probably be chilling in the game room playing dat Brawl. Dominating the competition with dat Pink Captain Falcon and Mario. You don't want none of this! B]
Let's Play!
And on a completely unrelated note, I've been doing more Let's Playing, which is pretty much playing video games while commentatingbecause clearly I have the best announcing voice EVER. Its been nearly a year since I first started and I STILL feel like I'm cutting my teeth on it.
If you care to put up with the poor quality and schtuffs, why not give a look-see?
So yeah. BRB.

American marketing, you've done it again!
General | Posted 14 years agoKia Motors, you've made one of the coolest commercials ever, that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the product you're selling...
If there was an award for such a feat, you'd definitely be in the running! Stay classy, my friend...
DT-Fox.com *Am I Pro yet, Mama??*
General | Posted 14 years agotl;dr - I've got a website now! http://dt-fox.com/
Well, its currently under construction... well, I'm trying to build it. WELL, I'm getting there... slowly but surely.
I'm trying really hard not to rely on templates and simple WYSIWYG editors, but learning HTML and CSS in such a short amount of time is kicking my but pretty hard... still, I'm gonna take the hard route. 'Cause that's better in the long run, right?
Also for anyone with website building/designing experience, do you have any general tips or recommendations on how to build a site without the coding becoming an unbridled mess? At this point, any tips would be GREATLY welcomed. :)
Away from that, only a few more days until I go back to school and that means I can ultimately (ironically) get back to projects and commissions! With my nose in the books and my hand on my tablet pen, this is gonna be a really busy semester...

And back from AC
General | Posted 14 years agoHad a great time for my first time at AC. The entire even was HUGENORMOUS! Even bigger than Anime Weekend Atlanta if I remember correctly. It was literally a trip in itself to get to the other side of the convention!
I mostly hung out with my bro,
,
, and their posse. And when not doing that, I was kicking butt and taking names in the game room. Seriously, out of the 20+ matches of Brawl I played, I only lost 4 or so. Man, I wish I made that tourney!
I would've loved to go and have met several familiar artists and folks I've seen on the net, but I think I wimped out way to hard. :I
Also, with some words of encouragement, I've officially decided to try to go for my own table when FWA rolls around next year, so another thing to add to my "To-do" list.
This convention actually motivated me to try and increase my art output AND try to be a more active member in the general community. I've officially broke out of "Summer mode". :D
That's all I have to say about my trip. Time to get back to business.
