Another new Sonic game??? And FA:United
General | Posted 15 years agoLets see if I can do this right...
https://youtu.be/Ys4PRXf0TYs
Spoilers: its a puzzle game. Actually, I don't know, but this is way too close to the release of Sonic 4 to be more of the same thing. And its for the Wii and DS! Those systems are breeding grounds for depthless games! :V
Also I'm going to FA United on Saturday. Find a dude in a blue shirt and jeans and maybe we can hang out, chat, talk about the economy and the good ol' days when gas was only a dollar. And anyone have any Con tips? I've never actually hit one up by my lonesome before. Usually I go with my bro 'n stuff but I can't rely on him every time.

I did it! :D
General | Posted 15 years agoHey DT, guess what?
"What?"
You passed enough of your classes! You're good for another semester!
"Whoo-hoo! :D "
Guess what else?
"What?"
You've got 12 hours to clean and clear your dorm room, the bathroom, and the fridge, and pack your car AND GTF off campus!
"I guess its not too ba-"
Then you have a 14 hour drive ahead of you to get home!
"Wow, tomorrow's gonna be a long day-"
Oh, and did you get anything for your mom on Mother's Day? You know, the lady who gave birth to you? The one who practically single-handedly raised you?
"...Ffffffffff..."
And how about those commissions you've YET to do? The ones people have been waiting for since, like, February? And what about Lv. Up? And JetFox? And those other projects?
adkfjdklfjds;j <RageQuit>
Simply put: The hardest most stressful part is out of the way, but there's still a few things to do.

Almost there!
General | Posted 15 years agoFinals are almost over, I'm so close to passing (or failing) some of my classes! I've never felt so pumped and/or tense before! D:
Anyway, those waiting for commissions for the LONGEST now, please bear with me. As education and my sanity comes first, I'll try to get some done during my downtime. Otherwise they WILL continue by next week. Sorry for the wait, y'all.

DT's continual story hour!
General | Posted 15 years agoWhile waiting for some real updates from me, lets play a little game, shall we? I'll start off the story and anyone can continue it piece by piece any way you want. No limit to imagination! The only rule, as far as I know is no ending the story yourself.
"So a guy and and a girl were going to a sock hop at the at the local diner when suddenly..."

Distractions overcamed!+Final chance 4 commissions
General | Posted 15 years agoSo I've been more or less distracted since the end of my Spring Break. What's been going down the past 2 weeks? Well:
*Studied my butt off for a very important Literature test...
*Recovering 40 hours in Pokemon Soul Silver (I originally clocked 40 hours in Heart Gold and traded it in shortly after. I got all the badges, so I managed to slow my want for playing the game (thank god...)
*Getting over my Brawl high. There was a tournament 2 days ago (I made 5th place out of 16 or so [go me!]) Right after the tourney, I jumped online to find more people to play.
*Just finished watching 34 episodes of Sgt. Frog. The American version is hilarious and I recommend that show to anyone who likes comedy and/or anime. :D
So now that I got some of my primary distractions out of the way I can finally get a jump on those commissions and trades that have been piling up... Oh, and continue to study my butt off since its now "crunch time" for the semester. Failure is NOT an option! Its not mandatory either. :b
Also I'd hate to say it, but I'm closing off any other commissions by the end of this week (April 10th). I'm still keeping the prices low (check this journal:http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1242235/) so grab a spot while you can! And of course anyone who's already reserved a spot for a commission will have their pictures/animations done. :D
Don't worry anyone who actually cares, I'm reopening commissions when A) The semester is over, B)I finish all my current commissions, C) When I get the first episode of Lv. Up! actually done..., D) All of the above, E) None of the above.
Happy Easter y'all!

Tequila!
General | Posted 15 years agoAlright boys and girls, I am black!- I mean 'back'. :V
As mentioned before, I was on spring break with my family. We got to go to Puerto Vallarta Mexico and had some fun and also got harassed by every other local trying to make a buck. I've never said "no" and "I'm good" so many times before... But still a good vacation over all.
Now second it is officially the first day of spring and I've got NOTHING... :'[ Usually a week like last week would've been crunch time for me to finish work or a project (Lv. Up!), but since I was away it was out of my hands. Not really, but kinda yeah. So sorry 'bout that folks, because that really hurts my credibility (if I have any)... New deadline: TBA. :V Good thing I'm not a PR representative, right? ^^;
Thirdly, Pokemon HG/SS is awesome! Due to a flub up with Walmart, I had to get Heart Gold and tore through that mess while on vacation. And because I actually wanted Soul Silver, I traded that in and got SS. While playing the game, I had an idea for an unofficial Pokemon contest. I'll go more into that later, because this journal is long enough already.
Fourth and lastly, time is running out on cheap priced March commissions. They run to $2-$5+, check it out why don't ya? http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1242235/
That's all I got, comments, notes, and pictures will be responded to in the next few days. Back to work for the umpteenth time!

Momocon, FWA, and some needed input from y'all.
General | Posted 16 years agoHey, anyone going to Momocon or FWA? So far it seems that I'd be good to go and it'd be cool to actually meet someone there.
Now as for the needed input: Are you guys alright with the random pictures I post (that aren't trades or commissions) or would you rather see me get a move on with more comics? And if you do vote comics, do you know which comic you'd like to see going again?

Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom!
General | Posted 16 years agoIf you're getting this game, let me get your friend code, yo!
Mine is 3996-7874-7861
For those who don't know what Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom is, its a Wii exclusive fighting game. Said to be a technical sequel to Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. The difference this time around? The Marvel Characters are replaced with classic anime characters from a japanimation company called "Tatsunoko". Its not as bad as it sounds, I promise you. Tatsunoko is the same company who made shows like Speed Racer, Samurai Pizza Cats, and G-Force/Gatchaman/Battle of the Planets. I'm sure you know who Capcom is (Megaman, Viewtiful Joe, Ryu, Chun-Li, etc.)
Unfortunately neither Speed or the Pizza cats made it into this game, but that's all the more reason to pick this game up. You may learn to like some characters you've never even heard of.
And those who went through the trouble of getting beasted on by cheap players in MvC2 don't have to worry as much. This game is better balanced and easier to access, though still takes some skill to master. Along with Wifi online playability, why not pick up this game?
Seriously, if you're looking for a reason to blow the dust off of your Wii, this game is the game to do it! :D

Anyone know a good 3D modeling and animation program?
General | Posted 16 years agoWell first, I wanna say to all the recent watchers, thanks for the watch. :D
Second, I'm still looking for a female voice for a tiny little animation I wanna make. If you have a mic and you're interested, let me know please.
Thirdly, I'm trying to find a good, simple (and possibly free) 3D modeling and/or animating program. I'm currently looking into Blender. Its pretty cool from what I've seen, but kind of complicated. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Hey you!
General | Posted 16 years agoYeah, you!
I need a couple of voices.
2 to be exact.
A male and female.
There's no real restriction for the female voice.
As for the male voice, I'd rather it not to be too deep.
That's why I'm not voicing the dude.
The script is for a teeny-tiny project.
"So soon, DT?" YES.
The roles has no explicit language and the project is family friendly.
If you're interested and you have a mic, note me or comment in this journal and I'll try to get back to you about it ASAP.

Do me a Solid, Metal Gear!
General | Posted 16 years ago*cut and pasted from my DA journal*
So lately, I've kinda had an interest in the Metal Gear Solid series. It first started by whimsically buying MGS4 for $20 for a new PS3 my bro and I pooled our money together for. Then I downloaded the first Metal Gear Solid to try to get that out of the way. I wish I was interested in that series when I was younger, but what 8 year old in the right mind would a cinematic stealth game? :b I don't think I'd have the skills to beat that game anyway (back then). But MGS1 is a whole lot funnier now after watching Metal Gear Awesome on Newgrounds.com. Check it out!
*Update*
I just beat MGS1! Fun run but a little hard on Normal mode. Now I'm wondering whether I should just jump to MGS2 while I'm still on a MGS-High. Or maybe I should finally tackle Final Fantasy 7. That should be a quick and easy Saturday night run, right? :b
But enough about video games, I'm back on my campus. Classes start this Monday *awesome* and more art is sure to come. Its already the 10th day of the new year and I've only submitted 4 pics... GAWD I'm lazy...

Lets do this THANG!
Lets do this THANG!
Planes, Spirit Trains, and Automobiles!
General | Posted 16 years agoOra-ora-ora-ora-ora!!! I'm finally back! Oh sweet interwebz, how I missed you! Oh, you awesome people too, I guess. :b
Anyway, time to sum this up in fun little asterisk again, for the sake of
*We drove in the rain to try get to the airport, thanks to the awesome technology of GPS, we wound up in some dinky little neighborhood on the other side of town. Fortunately, we had enough time to make it to the airport.
*Finally made it to Kingston, Jamaica and Air Jamaica (the company we flew with) left our luggage behind. So we had to deal with a limited set of clothes... Note: if you ever have to fly, try not to make it Air Jamaica... This kind of stuff happens kinda frequently...
*Visited my mom's side of the family.
*Traversed my mom's old town n' stuff.
*Rode in a Mini bus crammed full of people just to break down in the middle of nowhere...
*Visited my dad's side of the family.
*Went to Ocho Rios, climbed the Dunns River Falls AND Jet Skiied. It was AWESOME! I'm definitely gonna jet ski more if I ever get the chance.
*Went to some kind of unprofessional spa called "Bath Fountain" its a little ways from St. Thomas/Morant Bay. We were more or less kidnapped into the spa treatment. So it was EXTREMELY off putting at first, but a little fun in the end.
*Finally time to go and during the whole weekend, its been snowing in the North East of the USA, so we had to spend the night over in Atlanta. After 24 hours of traveling and then having to shovel the drive way to the house, we're finally back home.
As a trip to visit family, it was alright, and good to see them again. If it was to be called a vacation, it generally sucked... On the plus side there was basic cable available, so my bro and I had something to watch. On the negative, there was no heated water, so cold showers... AND it was super hot and humid so I had no motivation to draw ANYTHING. D: I did spend time playing Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Its an awesome game. If you have a DS, go buy it now! :D
That's pretty much all. With Christmas coming, holidays soon coming to a close and New Years on its way, I hope everyone's having a nice time.
I'll try to catch up on comments and pics ASAP.
Oh and if you have a Wii, the original Smash Bros. is available on the Virtural Console!
I feel like I'm missing something, but I'm too tired to remember. Whatevs.
Happy Holidays, y'all!
And if you wanna ask any questions about Jamaica, I could try to answer them. :D

Going to Jamaica now, see you in a week! :D

General | Posted 16 years agoUpdate report on DT's life in asterisk form, ACTIVATE!!!
*I'm back up in Virginia/D.C. Area. Driving 10 hours isn't too bad once you get used to it.
*I got my 360 back after 2 months of working with UPS and Microsoft. If you wanna add me I'm "DTFox" on XBox Live, yo.
*Went to see The Princess and the Frog with my mom and my bro. Walt Disney would be PROUD! It definitely had that good ol' Disney magic. I truly believe if this sells well enough, Disney might go and make more traditionally made animations again. So go see it! Go see it now!
*I'm flying to Jamaica next week... to visit family. Definitely not gonna be one of those luxurious vacations you see on TV.
*I have 3 pics I need to finish in the next 24 hours, otherwise the people waiting for them wont be getting them until I get back.
That's all for now. I'll try to comment to as much stuff as I can before I go. You're the man of the house til I get back, Julia.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we're live again.
General | Posted 16 years agoWow, FA goes down more than my Ex-girlfriend! LOLOLOL!
...Yes I've been holding that joke in for the longest now, shut up.
ANYWAY, it sure feels good to have this crazy site back up. I never noticed how often I actually check this site. For me its usually DA, FA, IGN.com, and my e-mail. So when this site went down for that week, it sure felt strange.
I also noticed a lot of FA members flocking over to DA during the outage. Even though this site is back up, PLEASE don't just up and abandon Deviant Art. It'd be a waste of accounts and to be honest, the problems aren't as bad as the public makes it. Also there is more to art than anthro/furry art. Strange as it is for me to say it. :b
Now onto regular business:
* I've got a few pics to post here about a good 8 but I'm gonna hold out until later in the week when the posting rate goes down. Or if anything I'll just wait until later in the day.
*I will try to send the Secret Santa notes ASAP. See what I get for procrastinating?
*I'm working on a more serious story. It'll be a little different from what I usually post, more so in feeling than looks.
And projects plans:
*Finish the current "Money Cent" story arc before the end of the year.
*Continue "Jack and Jome" and "Fantasy Race" comics at the beginning of next year.
*Finally finish the first episode of "Lv. Up!" by Spring(2010). I'm 100% serious!
*Plan and get a team for "DASH! Magazine".
*Try to make a real website for my works
Wow that's a lot of stuff.
So how have ya'll been doing? How'd you fair during the outage?

General | Posted 16 years agoSo I'm back in my quaint little dorm room in Georgia and it is LONELY. Apparently my dorm mates/roommates/freeloaders/whatever-da-heck-you-call-them aren't back yet... Hmm, maybe I can throw one of my wild, sexy parties! :D
Anyway, I had a fun fall break. Away from seeing my mom and having home cooked food, I was totally lazing about. My bad for not commenting and responding to anything that came my way in the past week. I was lurking, but not too active. My comments are sure to come in the next 24 hours.
Now with 2 more weeks left in my semester, first and foremost, I have to make sure I don't fail my classes. And in the guilt of not being active, I'm gonna try to get some arty stuff done.
Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving (those who celebrate it) and hope no one froze their butts off on Black Friday.
L8R, homies!
*Additional Stuff: Secret Santa notes will be sent tomorrow! :D

Let's review Half-Minute Hero! :D
General | Posted 16 years agoI'm trying to hone my journalism skillz (nonexistent). So here's a review of a game I played recently. Any tips or critique on how to review/inform/flow better, let me know. :)
Half-Minute Hero (PSP) Review
What if I told you, you only had 30 seconds to beat an epic Role Playing Game (RPG)? For me, I began to imagine how one could speed through turn based battles, chat with the non-playable characters, and even traverse the up and down the map.
Fortunately the concept (along with the game) isn't as hard as it sounds.
Half-Minute Hero is pretty much if Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy, and Wario Ware had a child. Its also a parody on most general RPGs, with an original story in and of itself. Like most RPGs, you start out as a random boy destined to be a hero (I named my guy "Hero"). An evil villain obtains a spell that can destroy the world in 30 seconds and its up to you to stop him! Unfortunately you don't have the power to stop him and the world is doomed!... or is it? This is where the game turns out to be easier than one would think, as the "Time Goddess" appears to lend you her powers, but at a price: rewinding time for a little gold. The phrase "Buying time" has never been any truer than when playing this game. Well maybe this and a parking meter.
The main gameplay itself is what you would expect from most RPGs: Walk the map, get into random battles to gain experience, go into town to replenish health and talk to the towns folk, complete a given quest and take down the boss. The fights themselves aren't turn based, but actually more action oriented: your character runs towards the bad guys and both bump each other until one goes down. The short and sweet battles end in a matter of seconds which is definitely a good thing for what little time you have to beat the stage.
You may also wonder how much fun a game like this would be if each stage was only 30 seconds. Fortunately every other stage has a different quest with a completely different map for each new stage, keeping things interesting. There are also other "games" within the game including a Side/Vert Scrolling Shooter starring a princess with a crossbow and a Real Time Strategy (RTS) game starring an incredibly narcissistic and conceited yet loyal and romantic Evil Lord. There's a few extra games to follow, but I'd recommend you playing the game to find out. Or just search the cheat sites, but where's the fun in that?
Since the game is partially a spoof/parody, it definitely has it's funny moments along unique characters. My personal favorite is the Evil Lord. He thinks his beauty will get him everywhere and anything, yet he cares for a human turned into a bat monster so much, he's willing to adventure around the world to get her back to normal.
And keeping the parody train rolling, the entire game has that 8-bit/16-bit sprite appearance. There are many given cut scenes that show still high quality drawn pictures which just adds to the amusement of the whole game. It also proves that the sprite created sections were done completely on purpose. Along with the epic story, it also has an epic sound track filed with enthusiastic rock tracks and your regular RPG music.
Half-Minute Hero also has its fill of bonus content along with unlocking the ability to listen to the sound track, concept art, and an extra hard mission that could very well make you cry. If you thought 30 seconds is hard, try only 3 seconds!
All in all, Half-Minute Hero is a fun game with an enticing storyline that's also a nudge towards your regular RPG. Unfortunately its a short enough game to complete in a good weekend. There's a hard mode and extra content to earn, but if you're the kind of person to stop playing a game after you technically beat it, I recommend renting it if you can.

Check the trailer to get a better idea of it. Text can only do so much... YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaV16Zue6uQ
*Note: There is also multilayer functionality, but I didn't get a chance to check that out.
So how was that review? Did it flow well enough? Did it sound informative enough? Did it make you interested to give the game a shot? Did the review justify the score enough? Would you be interested in more reviews? And if so, what content would you like me to check out? How far did you get until you just skipped to the end of this journal?

General | Posted 16 years agoTo any recent watchers who I haven't said "Thanks for the watch!" to, Thanks for the watch! :D Now onto the journal!
Secret Santa
This is the last time I'll be mentioning anything about the Secret Santa Art Trade. The last day to join is November 27. It doesn't take any more than just sending me a note to me... but read the rules first: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1016361/
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
I managed to pick up this gem for $10 by trading in 2 games. Totally worth it, totally fun especially with more people. No longer do you have to worry about take turns, you have to worry more about not killing each other in the game. With dedication, you can probably tackle it in a good day or two and it never gets stale the whole way through. Definitely worth the pick-up if you have the cash to spare, and the friends to play with.
B-Day
Its not really about it coming up *coughcoughNovember20/thisFridayhackcough*, but what I'll be doing on that day: Getting up at 7AM to get ready for 5 hours of classes IMMEDIATELY followed by a 10+ hour drive (straight) up north to visit my mom for Thanksgiving/Fall Break. Knowing that we wont get there until probably the next morning, happy brithday to me! :V Pretty funny considering I threw $50 down the hole for my brother's impromptu birthday dinner...
w/e
I'm trying to raise a little "ka-ching" for this Christmas. I'm still (always) taking commissions for only $7 a pop ($3 per additional character). Fully colored, background optional. If you don't know what you want doing, I'll improvise! You know you want one... or ten... :Y

This is a little funny...
General | Posted 16 years agoWeren't people JUST preaching about this place NOT being myspace? What, because posting a picture of yourself is a meme now, its alright? I wont lie, I kinda want to jump on the band wagon (and I may). I also applaud everyone having the guts to show their mugs on the internet of all places!
Does anyone have an idea who started this?

Secret Santa and other stuff...
General | Posted 16 years agoFirst, the Secret Santa art trades thing is still going on. Check the info and rules if you're interested! http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1016361/
Second,
Baltothewolf started a fan club. The
francinefanclub! 'Tis be an honor. Ask him about it for more info. </shameless plug>
Third, I turn the big 19 on the 20th! I can't wait to do stuff I usually do, just with a technically added year! Its also my last year to enjoy technically being a teen. Time to be as irresponsible as possible!
Lastly, I'm trying to build up some X-mas funds for gifts for my bro and mum. So I'm doing fully colored picture commissions for only $7 ($3+ for additional characters). If you're interested, let me know. :D
That's all for now!

Dude... I ,like, totally did.
General | Posted 16 years agoLets get right down to it: A little over a month ago, I tried being a "mature" artist for about a week.
dweet-tea. If you're not gonna read the rest of THIS journal, at least read this journal on THAT account: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/980628/
Now the full story:
It all started a few months before my 18th b-day I was thinking "Hey, along with 'legally' looking at 'stuff' I can also draw 'it' without any negative repercussions!" At the same time, I was too much of a whimp to give it a try when my birthday rolled around.
*fast forward by about 10 months!*
Occasionally one of my IRL friends asked why him an I never received enough pageviews and attention on the art we so painstakingly spent Hours/Days/weeks working on. I always told him that unless one draws pronz, fan-art (or anything with familiar characters), or a combination of the two, it'll be a hard run for most to all clean/original artists to be fairly recognized. Now that was just me assuming, while at the same time have seen it to be true a couple of times.
Out of nowhere, one day, I just thought, I can't keep spouting that assumption without any proven facts. So I created an account by the name
Dweet-Tea (clever, right?) and secretly tried my hand at being a "mature" artist. *Gasp!!!* [Disclaimer: that gallery does have poorly drawn mature pics so, you know how that goes]
By now you may be thinking "DT??? He's last person I'd ever think to submit to the 'dark side'!" D: Given that drawing and posting that stuff would be "submitting", but I did it to 1) see if what I assumed was true: will an artist of my "skills" gain more attention for drawing nothing but 'teh smut' (totally all the wrong reasons to draw that stuff in the first place...), and 2) Why the heck not try it?.
The results: Its not as easy as it looks, there feels like there's a lot of pressure to make the next one better than the last (if you're trying to impress), and I think I died a little on the inside at the beginning... Though it was a wee bit interesting in the end.
I was going to keep the game going for a good month or so, but I suck at trying to hide my style and was figured out by another member here on FA. I promised myself that the very moment I was found out, I'd draw the "experience" to a close. I lasted a good week...
What's funny was that at he beginning of the whole thing, I didn't think about how I'd tell a few people I knew, much less mywatchers anyone who bothers to read this journal, that I tried drawing mature art for a little while. I showed my best friend; he was ok with it. I told my big brother; he said he was a little "shocked" (not in a bad way I think), but what's pretty insulting is that I shared something big with him, and he still didn't have the guts to tell me that he, himself, has an account on this friggin' site, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING you have to have an account AND the mature filter turned off to see that stuff... There is just one other long time net friend who I'm concerned about what she'll think of all this, but I'll just burn that bridge when I get to it.
Lets just wrap this up. I tried drawing 'it'. I didn't [completely] mind drawing 'it'. I wont say I'm never drawing 'it' again, but I'm not too keen on being known for 'it'. So I'm gonna keep off of 'it' for a good, LONG time. I'd rather be known for my more clean art. The account, again, is
dweet-tea and here's the concluding journal on that account: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/980628/. I hope you don't think any less of me.
Also the pics on that account will either be scrapped or deleted by the middle of next week, so... yeah.
Now the big question is how to put that account to use...

General | Posted 16 years agoHey, wanna join in on the gift that keeps on giving? Check this journal!: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1016361/
I kinda stumbled upon these cartoons jumping from link to link. They were originally part of an "Oh Yeah! Cartoons" spin off called "Random! Cartoons" (by Nickelodeon). I don't know about you, but seeing cartoons like these makes me want to draw (and animate) a WHOLE lot more! :D
