Had my job training today...had to get up early, but in general it was okay aside from seemingly having misplaced my spare battery. Massive annoyance. Took advantage of the rare opportunity to have some In-n-Out - #1 animal, hold the pickle. Really the worst thing that had happened up to that point was being late back from lunch.

Then I started home...steep slope for a lot of the trip (which I knew about) and a storm ahead generating serious headwinds...swapped between 3rd and 4th gears a few times, no big deal...until I couldn't even keep my speed above 55. So then I turned on my emergency lights, started pulling onto the shoulder, and dropped my speed intentionally to 45...and it stalled out.

I tried to restart it and it sounded like it would if I really pushed it, which I didn't feel like doing. So I got out and started walking...Unfortunately I was about as far as possible from ANYWHERE, being about .5mi south of the Browse exit...literally about as BFE as you can get on I15. Luckily this guy in the middle of moving stopped - at this point I was actually IN the storm, which was pouring rain and I think turned to sleet briefly - and called my parents for me.

I walked back to my car tried the engine again, which started, but sounded like crap, so I cut it again. Then I notice another pair of headlights behind me, and another good Samaritan offers me a ride home and lets me use his phone to call my roadside assistance.

So yeah. This day went from annoying-but-tolerable to utter-crap.

Hee, my lil brother decided he wanted to start a blitzball file, so I stuck a copy of mine on one of my other memcards and reset it....and boy, is he right: The beginning is SLOOOOOW. But I knew that already.

Still going on the Steel tourney, specifically the Medium-Tank division. Blue beat Canada last night (that battle was lame) and ANZAC got their bye; got USA vs. India going right now, and India's units don't have cannon, so we know how that's gonna turn out.

Also, sometime in the next day or two, I'm gonna make some pico-de-gallo. See, Mom made some "California Salsa" from a recipe lilbro found/recieved for a report he was doing in school, which went thusly:

9 cups tomato, diced
3 jalapeños, seeded and chopped
2 cups green onion, sliced
1/2 cup cilantro leaves, chopped
1/2 cup lemon-juice
6 cloves garlic, chopped finely

Now, they cut the recipe in half since that apparently makes an assload - the half-recipe barely fit in one of our largest bowls; they also turned some of the green onion into whit. Issues I have with this recipe:

1) WAY too much tomato.
2) Green onions are a weaksauce flavour, easily buried.
3) Prolly not enough cilantro. (Bobby Flay, eat yer heart out)
4) Couldn't taste the garlic!

Overall, the spice-level was nearly nonexistent. Since we had some tomato and cilantro left over, Mom told me to have her get whatever ingredients needed replacing and make my own version, which will go thusly:

2 tomatoes (not sure what volume that'll end up being and don't much care)
1 large jalapeño
1/4 or 1/3 cup combined white and yellow onion (colour, woo!)
1/4 or 1/3 cup cilantro
1/6 cup lemon-juice
3 cloves garlic, possibly more depending

Hopefully it'll turn out a bit less weaksauce and more woo. :9

Okay, school. Well, it's over. Pretty sure I failed Calc, mostly due to a late realization that doing homewerk at home just doesn't work anymore. -.- Assuming this doesn't cost me my finaid, I figure on retaking it next semestre, possibly alongside Stats. Far as I know I did decent in the rest of my classes, tho Philosophy has me chewing claws a little bit. I'll check soon.

Also, getting a massive fecking headcold the weekend before finals really blows. >.< And it's dragged on and on and on...though at this point it may have faded into a seasonal allergy; just took a Claritin-knockoff pill to see if that's the case. And I need to get a summer job, but I'm having a hard time motivating myself to go out and do it while this crap's still fooling around with me...

I borrowed Jay's copy of FFX2 and have been gorging on blitzball. :3 My team's pretty much the way I want it, 'cept that I keep trading my players to other teams so I can pump up their players and make the league more competitive! I'm currently most of the way through the Beasts (decided to start with them); with all but one of their Ds and their goalie buffed up (I currently have Deim, and they have a capped-out Buddy in her place), along with Vuroja, they're actually winning some games, even against the Psyches! I plan to do the Fangs next (KITTEHS!), then the Glories. then prolly the Aurochs unless the other two start getting trounced constantly.

Ever had a tournament game get called due to time? I did, against the Beasts - I was trying to lose to get the second-place prize, but I haven't buffed up their forwards yet, and Paine somehow managed to catch four consecutive shots from Vuroja (that's 21 SHT vs. 10 CAT), so there was no score for a total of thirty minutes, at which point it was ruled that the game must be called and replayed; the replay even went 36 seconds into overtime before Vuroja finally scored! x.x
