Posted 16 years agoPhilosophy: Missed due to a weird bug in the new alarm prog (shared with the built-in one) that apparently doesn't allow an alarm to activate the same day it's set. O.o Either that or I only thought I'd finalized it...
Micro: Started on ch7, "Consumers, Producers, and the Efficiency of Markets". Consumer surplus, fwee. Prof used an example involving the members of RHCP. XD
Calc: Continuation of sec 2.2, "Using Second Derivatives to Find Maximum and Minimum Values and Sketch Graphs" - what a mouthful! For those of you who haven't taken calc and figure there's just gotta be a better way draw a decent graph than just picking points and plotting...yeah. :D
Spend most of the day at R&A's again...Robert apparently got himself copies of the new Gauntlet game, Ghost Rider, and...something else I forget atm. Ghost Rider looks like a cross between God of War and Devil May Cry, heeee.

Posted 16 years agoEnded up, somewhat against my will, demoing the duet scene I'll be doing for the first half of acting class, and got a fantastic compliment from the teacher: Apparently I make my partner a better actor! *^.^* Like, rawr.
RPd with KesKitsune for the first time in a loooooong while, which was quite a pleasant change...
And my phone won't connect to my computer anymore! x.x I've tried all the troubleshooting steps, but it still lags for a while and then just goes "cannot connect to device"! So I was up way late tonight getting a new alarm prog. x.x

Oyeah, something I forgot last week: I got a 93 on my Micro test. :3 Some days it's good to be me.
Yaknow, it's also pretty vindicating when a textbook almost flat-out states that taxes are bad for the economy. Honestly, anyone going to school with thoughts of going into politics should be required to take basic economy and possibly accounting classes. >:P

Played CIV mostly today...had a [b]huge[/u] round of civil wars because people decided they wanted a change of leadership at a really bad time...I mean, in the middle of a war? Come on, people! I managed to hold it together, though, despite a colonial-style rebellion in Rostóv spicing mix a little...
Ysabel was the dick who declared war on me...I'm strongly considering putting together an army gradually and going out to bash a few Spanish heads. Rawr and stuff.
O yeah...Indira cut the city of Varanasi loose, which formed the City-State (now Empire) of Tibet. Songsten Gampo's a pretty agreeable sort, it turns out; he was willing to help me in my war against Spain.

SPWW2 - 1929 Light Tanks
Quarterfinal: Thailand d. Japan, 1903-476
Looks like Japan put up a noticeable fight, but Thailand mostly rolled over them.
Semifinal: Thailand d. Czechoslovakia, 2067-289
Urrr...definitely not what I'd expect out of a semifinal. o.O
Final: France d. Thailand, 2461-59
Man, and I thought the semifinal was disappointing. I expected France to win fairly handily, but that's ridiculous!
Well, thus ends the Light-Tank division:
Gold - France
Silver - Thailand
Steel - Czechoslovakia
Bronze - Japan
Next up: Medium tanks!

Posted 16 years agoOn Tuesday in Acting we chose partners for our first scene/s (some people decided to do two)...today my partner and I setup our first rehearsal date for Saturday. This should be interesting. :)
Went and had lunch someplace I haven't been in a good while, a coffee-shop called 3B's whose owner also makes burrito/enchilada-style wraps. Good shiznit, and as usual we chatted for a good while. ^.^ Then went to the basketball game at 7, which our team lost, blah. Felt so damn tired, I decided to go to bed early after checking a bit of info in SMAC.
Specifically, I was looking for a particular Plato quote, which I embarrassingly found out wasn't even Plato! I did remember correctly that there was a line from The Republic; I just misremembered which one was it - the one I was remembering was actually from Sir Thomas More's Utopia, attached to the Habitation Complex facility; the Republic quote was on the Social Psych tech.

Posted 16 years agoMan, I managed to screw up my sleep-schedule somethin' fierce this weekend - I went to bed for Saturday at about 4pm Sunday! XP
Got back onto WoW finally and did massive addon updates, including several replacements - gods it was hard to let go of WhisperEnhanced, but it just wasn't working right. Unfortunately, I can't really find a proper replacement for it. Also, something's breaking my normal right-click menus. o.O Might have to run a clean login and see what happens from there... Regardless, it's pretty nice when you login for the first time in weeks and manage to meet someone at random for some good rp! :D
My NCAA Football game's into the bowl season, so I'll post the results for those so far later on here.
Steel Panthers
Belgium db. Thailand, 46-2112
This was the last match of Round III, setting the Round-IV matchups so:
Semifinal: Czechoslovakia vs. France
Thailand vs. Blue
Netherlands vs. Chinese Communists (in progress)
Nationalist China vs. Japan
USMC vs. Rumania

Thailand vs. Blue
Netherlands vs. Chinese Communists (in progress)
Nationalist China vs. Japan
USMC vs. Rumania

Posted 16 years agoBwah, stayed up too late tonight. Again. But this time because of unexpected rp. XP
Likely to start getting back into WoW again soon; actually logged in briefly tonight. Prolly won't be on with any regularity until I finish my current two CIV games, but maybe once every few days...
SPWW2 action
Quarterfinal: Blue db. Czechoslovakia, 1308-1348
Quarterfinal: France d. Chinese Communists, 12-2312

Posted 16 years agoBuh, massive amounts of math homewerk caught up on, having finally gotten buchen...two nights - Monday and Tuesday - so late that I had to skip class on Tuesday. @.@
I managed to revive my old Maya game, yay! :D I also decided to restart my Russia game, re-randomizing the leaders. Or rather, taking a potshot at what they would be had the game been started in my mod - I ended up as Stalin, Asoka became Indira, and Ysabel stayed.
I've had a couple of rebellions, some of which almost succeeded, but managed to hold things together. Ysabel cut Barcelona loose O.o which identified as the Tupi.

Hooah!
Posted 17 years agoNew release of NextWar Tritium: v0.9! Shitload of new civs and leaderheads added, lots of flags changed! Just one or two more steps until I'm ready to consider it v1...
Finished my Russia game. No real winner yet, so it's being stored for possible later conclusion. My cultural domination of Cordoba finally generated a rebellion, identified as Italian and under the command of one Vittorio Emmanuel, which ruled the city for quite some time; then they themselves had a rebellion by people calling themselves German and under the command of one Adolf Hitler, which ruled the city for a little while before Vittorio recaptured it. A while later they appealed for inclusion in the Grand Free State of Rus, an appeal which was graciously accepted. And there was much rejoicing.
So, that game nominally finished, I'm now going to return to my Tupi game, and report on it later tonight. ^.^

Well...honestly not much of anything new at school. The UHEAA site says my loan got disbursed yesterday, so presumably I should be able to collect the residual and finally get my books tomorrow. Rar and stuff.
Also, found a hilarious page: http://cbs13.com/slideshows/Married.....20.462840.html
Last night's NCAA action - 2006 Week 2
*KICKU 28 @ Tib 0
#24 Neb 34 @ #25 *STFU 37
*BYU 31 @ Bowling Green 14
Houston 14 @ *USC 28
Week 3
#1 Ohio St. 38 @ #14 Texas Tech 31
After this, I switched to another file as I realized that finishing that one wouldn't help anything.
Recruits
3KC: 4* CB Travis Fields, American Fork UT; 3* QB Matt Blankenship, Thatcher AZ
Week 12
Game of the Week: #4 Penn St. 28 @ #17 Michigan 35
#13 *Florida 59 @ #19 *KICKU 62 - OT
I'm experimenting a bit with the settings, seeing if I can have it play a full-length game and actually produce realistic results. We'll see if I manage.
CIV: First to discover Liberalism, Music, AND Economics - that means free tech, Great Artist, and Great Merchant! Expecting the Spanish city of Córdoba to experience some sort of cultural revolution soon, as they're now actually more Russian than Spanish; Barcelona's also headed that way. Now badly out-teching everyone, having switched to Universal Suffrage/Free Speech/Emancipation/Free Market/Free Religion.

Stuffs.
Posted 17 years agoWell, that didn't work out as planned... :P Regardless...
Philosophy's main subject on Friday was Descartes' first Meditation, which makes for some interesting reading on theological philosophy. While I may not agree in general with Christian motives, I can't help but applaud the effort to convince people of its validity through pure logic. After class I also hit up the professor for a little help reforming the local College Libertarians, as they don't appear to have chartered since 2006 and he was their advisor at that time; it'd be great if he'd advise us again, but apparently the workload involved has gotten out of hand, so he's pretty iffy on the idea; but mainly I just wanna see if he can help me get in touch with the members of 2006.
On Tuesday I also joined a group called the Game Club, and went for my first meeting on Saturday evening...which turned out not to have really happened since half the club was apparently embroiled in a D&D game at the time. :P Still, had some decent fun with the remainder.
Did one Royal Rumble before that, then later on while doing my laundry, decided to switch to NCAA Football in an effort to finish my "Fun" game and thereby clear out some space for a potential club dynasty to start at some later point. All I did was watch a few games rather than sim since I was busy folding most of the time, with the following results:
Last night's NCAA action - Week 2 2006
Game of the Week: #18 Florida 21 @ #16 Texas 7
*Three Kings 7 @ *Sioux City A&M 35
*Zion Canyon 0 @ *Scarlet King UM 45 (ouch)
*Street Lords 9 @ #2 *Tennessee 33
*Oregon 42 West Virginia 17
*s denote user-controlled teams.
A bit of background on each created school...
Three Kings (3KC): Created by Haji as sort of a surrogate for our school here. Not an exceptional team, but solid in most areas, particularly their option-run game.
Sioux City A&M (SCAMU): Created by Haji's sister Cyndi, based in her birthtown of Sioux City, IA and designated as an A&M to create an amusing abbreviation. Created as a "Juggernaut" team; rarely falls out of the Top 25.
College of Zion Canyon (CZC): My first creation, based in my favourite town - Springdale, UT. A better-than-average team, sometimes known to crack the Top 25 on the strength of their nigh-impenetrable defence and decent ground attack. Not real big on passing.
Scarlet King Universal Military Academy (SKUM): Blade's first creation, based in Corona, CA. Like SCAMU, an incredible team and always a worthy rival for USC. He's still annoyed at me for changing it into a military academy to create the "SKUM" abbreviation.
Street Lords University of Manhattan (SLUM): Created by Haji's brother Kurt, based in Manhattan NY for one obvious reason: It's the school you can't refuse. No, seriously - it's a university run by the Mafia! They seem to have a little trouble getting any consistency out of their football programme, though: While they usually have a great QB and decent recieving corps, their D often leaves a bit to be desired.
Last night's WWE action
Royal Rumble winner: Nocturne
Title contended: WWE Tag with the Undertaker, held by the Chain Gang (Cena & London)
Match type: TLC
Other challengers: none
Venue: Backlash
Match stipulations: none
Result: Brothers capture title - Cena turns heel
Rematch type: Table
Other challengers: Guile & Barmaid
Venue: WrestleMania XXI
Match stipulations: none available
Result: Chain Gang recapture title - Cena turns back face
Woo, I got myself a tag-team championship temporarily! :D
CIV: Russia has grown quite large, but I only have room enough for another city or two, so it won't be much more save through cultural or military conquest. Also, just recently, a barbarian tribe on a small offshore continent/large island just got themselves somewhat orgainzed, becoming the Inca City-state. Haven't yet gotten their diplomatic act together, though.

Posted 17 years agoI'ma write two journals today, in an effort to sort of "catch up".
My acting professor had us pick partners today; I get the feeling that this is intended to be the person we work with for the rest of ghe semestre, so it'll be interesting to see how it works out.
I found out that, for the moment, I'm playing the waiting game where my Stafford loan is concerned, as we need to wait for the CU to approve stuff before I can do aything further. Blah. :P

Skewl!
Posted 17 years agoWell, I'm now three days into my resumed school career. I managed to get into the calc class, and the review sections at the beginning are actually helping somewhat for a change. Also, my philosophy professor is greatly interesting. ^.^ But then again, maybe you'd have to be to pursue a philosophy degree...
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get my books yet because my loan's being a pain in the ass to get....I'm planning on harassing the finaid office tomorrow to find out what's going on.
Last night was the club fair, and I ended up joining one I hadn't seen coming: Game Club! XD I also may end up reorganizing the local College Libertarians, as they haven't chartered in a couple years and I feel it's important to get involved with them...
In other news, I managed to get all the buttons in NwT that were showing up too small to show up properly-sized! :D This means I can put out my next beta release tomorrow, once I clean some workfiles out of the directory-structure, woo!

Busy busy busy...
Posted 17 years agoGot my last leaderhead done on Friday! :D Now just gonna tweak some of the flags and it should be ready for another beta release. ^.^ Three LHs in one day, phew...
Blade and I went and saw our friends Robert & Angie Friday night, played his new copy of Guitar Hero: World Tour for a long while, then busted out Robert's borrowed copy of [/i]Samurai Warriors 2[/i], then just chatted for a while; I didn't end up getting home until about 7am! XD

Weird holiday weekend
Posted 17 years agoIn case anyone's wondering, I was at a friend's place mid-Saturday through late Monday; that's why I didn't post anything then. After that I managed to fuck up my sleep-cycle again, so... :P
Blade acquired Guitar Hero World Tour, which so far has proven immensely fun, even if neither of us has been able to acquire one of the new guitars. And here I still haven't beaten GH3. Dun matter, though.
I started an odd little project yesterday: Figuring out who-all would be involved if the Holy Roman Empire were to be revived today. I have a preliminary list of suspects, but I'm prolly gonna do a little more research before considering it final.
Last night's WWE action
Royal Rumble winner: Sylvain Grenier
Title contended: Intercontinental (face turn), held by Son Gokû
Match type: Steel Cage
Other challengers: Danny Basham
Venue: The Great American Bash (Legend Cage)
Match stipulations: Pinfall & Submission allowed
Result: Grenier captures title - Danny turns face
Rematch type: Hell in a Cell
Other challengers: Jimmy Hart, Eddy Guerrero
Venue: The Great American Bash
Match stipulations: KO Allowed, No Submission
Result: Eddy captures title - Grenier turns back heel
Royal Rumble winner: Triple-H
Title contended: Million Dollar, held by '80s Hogan
Match type: Steel Cage
Other challengers: Gôki
Venue: WrestleMania IX (Legend Cage)
Match stipulations: Pinfall, Submission, & KO allowed
Result: Gôki captures title
Rematch type: Hell in a Cell
Other challengers: Triple-H, Tajiri
Venue: Vemgeance
Match stipulations: KO Allowed, No Rope-break
Result: Hogan reclaims title
CIV: Successfully edited the US flag and flag-button! :D Found a few packs of nice-looking flags as well; gonna see if my dad likes any of them, as I'm not all that concerned with replacing any others, but think people might like some of them.
