Hey guys, I wanted to talk a little about bids and what I have learned. After my recent character bid, I noticed my starting bidder was my only bidder, but! People have asked me to design similar characters. So this lead me to doing a bit of research. I had thought, due to the shear saturation of bidding, that this was how people liked to buy. I personally don't care for bidding and am willing to often pay a higher price to be able to get something outright rather than bid and risk losing out, so, I went to the pages of many of the high volume, popu-artists doing bids and scanned deeper. Sure enough, their bids for adopts are either not selling, or they get one bid for SB and have to sell at their lowest price due to no competition.

So this leads me to my question for all of you:

When I create more adoptable characters, if you were interested in purchasing said character, would you be less likely to purchase if it was being offered as a bid? Even if you may be paying more that what would be the starting bid to outright buy it? I'm just curious and this is just sort of market research. Your opinions here really help me plan what to offer next.

Jokes aside, This man is so special. I never considere3d myself the marrying type. Never thought this was really in the cards for me, but he proved me wrong and I love him so damn much for it. We're having a small little ceremony. We were planning something for next year but with the orange blob coming into office, we realized we needed to act to protect our rights, so we are tieing the knot now and doing a bigger ceremony for family later. His dad and my mom are here though and are super excited.

Hey guys, I am combing through my gallery and deleting things that no longer bring me joy. Most of my work is staying up because I get a lot of poses, scenes, and ideas from looking back at my older stuff, and that's advice for free; if you are just starting out, keep your old work and look at it from time to time! You sometimes find gems!

But there is a lot that is sort of cringey, embarrassing, and from times I don';t want to recall. So that shit is going in the meat grinder.

I also will be removing mentions of my Ex and he was extremely, wildly abusive and I just do not want any association to him here. This includes any references to him in descriptions of art as, all of his characters were built from me being an art and creative slave to him. Basically, most of what he has, I created, so it's mine. He can keep what he has in it's current form, but anything I made is not gonna be showing him any undeserved credit. (Hmmphs and "so there"'s ) XD

Basically, if I'm gonna use this page, I want to dump old change, leave garbage in the dump where it belongs, and show my best creative self going forward.

I am back-ish. I sort of couldn't look at FA for a bit due once again to how site admin handle victims. But whatever. The way I see it, this is another tool in my back pocket to reach out and connect to other wonderful people in this fandom.

Sooo I'm updating, dusting off the cobwebs, and I'm gonna be here again more often. I have a lot brewing in the coffee pot right now! I am currently working or a rewrite of Signal Ghost as my last iteration just felt like it's pacing was a little slow. I am putting together a consulting business where I help folks just like you with stories, concepts, art, and preparations for their content for publishing, production, or use in what ever way they aim to do so! I am open to working with anyone, from a deeply entrenched game developer, to a person that simply wants to make DnD campaigns. The best thing for a creative person is having someone dedicate time and a pair of seasoned eyes to your project and offer you support and feedback in a dedicated way. So that's what I'll be offering XD

I am also running a patreon account. Had this account a while but I have finally gotten more serious about it. This patreon will be dedicated to Signal Ghost, and content related to. The main comic will be free, but anything spicy will be censored if it's necessary, and omitted if it's not. The full comic will be available uncensored to paid patrons and there will be additional content, like short vignette comics, spicy and tame images and pinups, and wips and sketches available as well.

So I took some tests. I am having problems with the math potion of the TX teacher license exams and was looking to update my diagnosis related to math to seek some accommodations before retaking. The test they gave was more comprehensive than that.

So long story short; I have what I already knew: Social phobic Anxiety and PTSD, and!
I finally have a tentative diagnosis for something I always wondered about but kept close to my chest.

I am Autistic!

The funny thing is, it's actually a relief to know! I(t clarifies SO damn much for me.

I kinda wanna wear it out and be proud because so much of the way my brain works suddenly makes sense to me now and I can stop feeling embarrassed of my weird idiosyncratically or awkward social hang-ups.

I mask really well. too well, and that's why it's gone undetected for so long. I only started to explore it now, when more about it has been coming out and I'd see stuff and be like "THAT!! HOLY SHIT!! THAT'S ME!!"

It's like a weight off knowing that I', not just some weirdo that can't pr4ocess or cope; that there's a reason. Knowing that is really empowering for me.

My last Journal was deleted. FA staff doesn't like it when we talk about harassment and abuse. Even though they don't have a block system that prevents it from happening. I'm okay with it, though. Everyone I needed to see it, saw it. My work here is done. XD

So I've been on a semi-permanent hiatus from FA. I found that this site just caused me a lot of grief, from the way in which the staff did not handle cases of harassment and bullying, to feeling as if the warmth of this site kind of died out and it doesn't really speak for the community anymore. I have not stopped being involved in Furry anymore, however. I've been on Twitter, then Bluesky under the handle DuskyArtz and I found these places to be much more fulfilling. Even met my husband and love of my like there  multani82 XD

Basically none of those truths have changed for me. This site is still a cesspool, but there are wonderful points of light still here that still use it well. There is still a wonderful amount of talent and beautiful creativity using this clunky old, horribly run site and the one thing this site offers me beyond that is the ability to archive work and keep it in one easily reference-able place.

So that's basically it. I'm not back in the "all's forgiven and I'm crawling back" way. I'm here to create a space again where my work can be found and looked at as a body of work.

In the coming days I'll be uploading a good amount of work to showcase the project I am working on as well as other works I have done of recent. I'll likely not be going to far back to fill in gaps of time anbd focus more on posting what I consider current.

I may be updating a bit more here about myself in the coming days/weeks as a lot about me has changed in the past few years since I stopped being a fly on the wall at this site LOL. But this is enough for now.

BTW: to anyone that watched me before, Dusk is a werewolf now. XD It was a change I'll explain in another post some time.

Dusk St. Morgan was still born but revived. He took an imprint of the other side with him and as such, has dealt with extremely high psyonic abilities that can bridge into causality and the dead and demonic. His parents were murdered when he was a young child and he was raised by two detectives who were werewolves as well. This takes place in a traditionally wolven district of a futuristic city to massive, overgrown, and old that it's lost a greater name and identity and is instead known by district names and colloquial terms, for example: Dusk's home is District 13, which has The Wolf's Paw, Kitsune Town, AND The Breaks areas to name a few.

Dusk would make a number of close friends, living in the lower city and growing up around the Special Investigations Guild. He would later pass exams and make Detective himself. At 17 he would experience another horrible tragedy and lose all that he knew and love. Worst of all, his true love, whom he never had the courage to tell, died in his arms (That's a character I based on Necire and is the newest part of his lore. I don't feel right writing Necire's character for him in the VN, which is why I made someone inspired by.)

The events of that night weren't just tragic for Dusk. Something happened that night that reset the fabric of reality. People vanished, people ended up places, doing things, that they couldn't recall how or why/ People lost portions of memories. Children forgot parents, lovers forgot each other, etc. There are shadows and incomplete ghouls called Husks of those people in the hidden, abandoned places in the city. Dusk woke up in a hospital and his mind had forgot much, but his heart remembered and the grief nearly broke him.

He left S.I.G., tried to make it private in another district, but werewolves are hated and considered vermin and unpredictable, as well, he has his abilities which frighten people, and his preference for men which some frown on, so he had trouble, even though he is a brilliant and skilled detective. He was called back into action by Division 6, the secretive internal investigations division, and sent back to District 13 for reasons he does not yet know. He will meet his lost love there and begin to remember and uncover and find that, what ever happened, it heard his cries of anguish, and brought this man back from the dead. There is much morw, but that's the basic gist.

Hey guys, been a while since I posted and even longer since I made a journal. I wanted to post this to give anyone that is curious some info. I'm gonna try to sort of section this out so you can just skim it if you like.

1st: Where have I been. Short answer? Twitter.
Longer answer: FA hasn't offered me much in the way of fulfillment or growth in a long time. please note I AM NOT LEAVING! but I AM more active on twitter and soon patreon. There are reasons that I'll go into next, so if it's TL:DR already, skip that section.

Reasons: So FA has a number of fundamental problems when supporting it's community, it seems. The way it's designed doesn't really maximize exposure. The old, tired rhetoric of "comment and fave to get noticed" doesn't work. Most of the time, people respond only on their work and don't return the favor. I'm the same. it's not out of being mean or stuck up. It's just hard to do it. There is no way to "retweet" or promote the work of the people you like. Twitter has this and it is a GAME CHANGER! So if you are wondering why all your favorite people are jumping over there, that might be a good reason why. Related to this is the fact that FA has sort of a negative culture at times. Admins are very selective about who and how they support and some of them have gamed the system it would seem to protect bad people and silence victims. On top of that, commenting, offering critique, and interacting is dangerous and leaves you open to attack if you run across a bad apple. You have no real recourse to stop harassment. If you block someone, they can still follow you and still find ways around to start drama with you. Twitter not only allows you to block, but you can mute conversations and prevent further interaction with bad actors.

TL:DR: I see FA as a great place to archive my work, but not great to promote it and grow as a creator. I will still post here and may be more active at times, but this is definitely not my first home anymore. Find me on Twitter duskyartz if you want to stay up to date. I post there almost daily, whether it's art, my thoughts, or just my wacky brand of humor!

Signal Ghost has gone through some heavy revisions but I am still working on it. Once I have a first chapter, I may become a bit more active and attempt to advertise and promote it. The plan is to put up my patreon and offer it there. I may also try to crowd fund it. I want to make a feature length product but am only one person with a full time teaching job. With crowd funding I can step back as a teacher and devote full time of even a bigger part of my time to creating. The VN will be a little different than others as I am aiming for an art-heavy, cinematic experience as opposed to "sprite changing expressions on a static back ground" that most VNs use.
