I'm back ^^
Posted 13 years agoYep, after these many long months, my ship has finally returned to the US, how ever we didn't stay put long X3 We're on our final run now to remove ammo in prep for de-com. Deployment was long and rather isolating, though several good things came of it, like I got a NAM, ESWS, as well as promoted to a Second Class Petty Officer ^^ Also a around half way though deployment, the love of my life returned to me <3 and in just a little over a months time she'll be moving in =D Who knows there might be a small round and expensive item to come in the near future ;3
The Time has come...
Posted 13 years agoThis is my last time online for a while as I have to move out of my room tomorrow and come Friday my ship will be leaving for deployment... shall be at least 6 months out a sea, is kind of a nerving racking time since I don't know what to expect and will be the first time out of the states since I was a kid
B-Day
Posted 13 years agoYeah I'm getting older today
Danger on the high seas
Posted 13 years agoHad a rather hairy time out at sea last week cause middle of the night on Wednesday we had a fire aboard the ship, thankfully it was contained quickly and no one was hurt during it. But is a very scary though of how easily it could of gotten out of control and out in the middle of the ocean there is no one to come to your aid and no place you can run to to escape the flames...
Out to sea again...
Posted 13 years agoWell we're going out to sea this week and from the weather reports its going to suck >< is storming out there and they're calling for 15-18 foot swells all week... my little frigate is going to get tossed around like a bath toy in those kind of seas, especially since the Navy took away our fin stabilizers... and to make matters worse we have our SCTT certs this week and I'm the CWIS operator for them so I have to go up on to the CWIS mount while we're getting bucked about... Good thing I know how to swim X3
...
Posted 13 years agoWhy does it hurt so much and still so greatly...
Off the ship...
Posted 13 years agoYay! at last off the ship and into a barracks room with net once more ^^ Though my time here will be short as the ship is currently getting ready for insurv >< means very busy and very long days on the ship, then shortly after that we are heading out on a 6 month cruise...
Out to sea...
Posted 14 years agoWell tomorrow will be my first time out at sea, ship is going out for a few weeks... Should be interesting... I've been missing Suki like crazy since I transferred, being on the ship sucks in that there is no internet or phone signal while on board so its made sending her text rather hard... Hopefully when the ship gets back i'll be able to move into a berrics room...
*Giggles*
Posted 14 years agoHey everyone this is Dustin's mate Suki being a little evil and barrowing his account just to tease him.
A lot has happened...
Posted 14 years agoWell a lot has happened in the last few weeks...
First off I moved out of Great Lakes and headed home for a week of leave, trip went well my mom and little brother came up on a train and then road back home with me in my 'new' car, thankfully the car's neutral safety switch waited to short out after I got home... Well had a nice visit at home, which was to short, as always ><
I left home and headed south in an epic quest to see my Suki once more, after having been a part from her for over a year, I've missed her so much. On the way down my car developed fuel problems, in that it would chock out of fuel and die just under a hundred miles of travel...
So made for a very long and tedious trip as some times there wasn't an exit around when the car decided to die, but after 13.5 hours and over 700 miles of travel I arrived at my hotel, tried and dirty. After a shower I pulled out my dress whites and much to my horror I discovered that I'd left my ribbons and neckerchief back home >< Thankfully I had a spare neckerchief in the bottom of my sea-bag, so I wasn't fully out of uniform when I left the hotel and headed for my beloved's house. I was getting so excited and nervous about seeing her once more, the closer I got the more it seemed like being in a dream, stared to round the last corner with only a few more feet to go... and the back tires slide off into the loose sand, sinking up to about the axles <<; So after a very embracing phone call to Suki, her bother, dad, and mom all came out to help push the car out, it too the help of there neighbor and his truck to get my car out >< So finally back on the road I pull in to my beloved's house and see her for the first time in over a year, a year and three months to be more precise. She was the image of an angle standing there in her black dress in front of her place. I got out of the car and hug her tight and was so hard no to cry right there, as I was so over joyed to have her in my arms once more.
After a brief visit with her family, and being threatened by her mother, we set off on our 'date', first she took me to her work and introduced me to a few of her co-workers, after witch we traveled to a local hookah bar were I tried my first shisha, which I found most interesting though what I fell in love with there was there Chai tea, we set the for several hours an in that time I drank the whole pot of tea, as Suki smoked the hookah. After the bar we headed back to the hotel were I had her close her eyes while I brought her into the room and prepared it. Had candles set up around the room with a box of incense burning in amongst them, and on the bed a large dancing fan with a 'build-a-bear' grey wolf in a naval dress white out fit.
The time spend with my beloved seem to pass to quickly, as it seemed I'd only just arrived when it was time to leave once more... it was so hard to leave for a second time... I tried my hardest not to cry in front of her, but the moment she disappeared in my rear view mirror once again... I cried, and keep crying for some time before managing to sniff back the tears... Crystal (my car) helped get me over my crying as well, for not to far down the road she started acting up and left me sitting on the side of it for a time, after a good sit and a few tweaks to the fuel rods she was up and running once more. It was a longer and more troublesome drive from Suki's to my new command, Crystal seem to be as up set as I was about leaving, as she kept breaking down, but finally after 14 hours a driving we made it just over the Virginia state line and we both decided we'd been on the road long enough so we pulled off and found a little motel to stay the night in.
The next morning after a shower and shave we finished the trip and got all checked into the new base, its so much better then the last one, as they treat you as an adult here, which is something I've not experienced in over a year.... Great Lakes truly was a horrible place to have lived at for more then a year...

My Heart Aches
Posted 15 years agoTo long has it been
So many wounds to tend
Since I last heard your voice so sweet
And my heart as ached with it's every beat
I wish I was with you once more
And then I wouldn't feel so poor
I shall always love you even beyond the end of time
My only desire to forever have you as mine
It seems some times that this will never be true
But be sure of this I shall always love you~
I love you so much Suki, and I miss you so greatly that my heart aches....

Why the navy works for FCs X3
Posted 15 years agoNavy humor … not a great example of stellar grammar … but it IS funny. This was probably written by a Fire Controlman on watch in the Combat Information Center (CIC) of a ship. CIC is a place of “feast or famine” … and it’s either extremely boring or everyone has their hair on fire. Enjoy …
The Fire Controlman’s Creed
All Rates in the Navy work for The Fire Controlman. The Navy’s primary mission is to keep peace. In order to do that we blow stuff up. The Fire Controlman is the key to this mission. The following is an explanation of why all rates work for FC’s..
# BM (Boatswain’s Mate) They train, direct, and supervise others in marlinespike, deck and boat seamanship; they paint to make the ship look nice. That way when they take pictures after FC’s blow stuff up we look good. Then FC’s get more ribbons. BM’s also help FC’s go on liberty faster by doing all the work we don’t like. BM’s Work for the FC’s.
# CT (Cryptologic Technician) CT’s control the flow of messages and information. They sit in a secret room and do strange things that no one knows about. Sooner or later the information they collect is used to blow stuff up. So therefore they work for the FC’s.
# DC (Damage Controlman) Perform the work necessary for damage control. They repair damage control equipment and systems. So if by some means we take an incoming missile the FC’s can continue to blow stuff up.
# DK (Disbursing Clerk) Maintain the financial records of Navy Personal. That way FC’s get paid to blow stuff up.
# DT (Dental Technician) Dentists. They keep FC’s teeth happy. That way the FC’s are happy and don’t blow stuff up when they aren’t supposed to.
# EM (Electrician’s Mate) The operation and repair of the ship’s electrical power plant and electrical equipment. They help give FC’s power so they can blow stuff up.
# ET (Electronics Technician) Responsible for a bunch of electronic equipment; communications, cheap radar. They take care of the easy electronics so the FC’s don’t have to. That way the FC’s have more time to blow stuff up. ET’s should also take a sanity test. During Techcore they had a chance to become an FC. Why they picked ET is because they are insane or something.
# EW (Electronics Warfare Technician) Operate and maintain electronic equipment used in target detection and location, and the prevention of spying by enemies. Really what they do is determine friend or foe. They don’t do that well anyway. If they think it is a bad guy we blow it up. If by some means we fail to take out an incoming missile EW’s launch chaff. That is about all they are good for. They also sit and complain about being on watch. EW’s are good for bringing FC’s snacks.
# FC (Fire Controlman) Maintain and operate weapon systems used on combat ships. Complex electronics are used to ensure correct missile guidance and other such ordnance. This equipment includes; Radar, computers, weapons-direction equipment, target-designation systems and range finders. FC’s help other FC’s blow stuff up.
# FC (AEGIS) FC’s that are in the AEGIS weapon system. AEGIS is split into 4 elements. SPY, Computer, FCS/ORTS and Display. SPY Techs work on the SPY Radar, the main Search and Track Fire Control radar for the AEGIS weapon system. Computer Tech’s sleep in most of the day. Once in a while they change a tape or some thing. FCS/ORTS Techs sleep all day as well, but they sit on the Missile System Supervisor Console and get to push the pretty button. Display, they fix consoles and everything else related to AEGIS but not really. There are many different types of FC’s. The main purpose of them all is to BLOW STUFF UP!!! Or help in the process of doing so. Without FC’s Navy ships would be used as tug boats or crappy cruise liners.
# GM (Gunner’s Mate) Maintain and repair gunnery systems. Some times even missile-launching systems. They clean them and paint them all nice and pretty. Then the FC’s blow stuff up and get their stuff dirty. They also load the ordnance on the ship. That way FC’s can blow stuff up. GM’s don’t get to blow stuff up because they like to poop in their hands and throw it at people. They are a form of FC that went horribly wrong early on in the process a million years ago when we were all monkeys. Due to their inbreeding they can’t blow stuff up.
# GS (Gas Turbine System Technician) Operate, repair, and maintain main propulsion machinery. They are the stinky guys who make sure the ship can move. Make sure to get the FC’s where they need to go to blow stuff up.
# HM (Hospital Corpsman) They keep FC’s healthy and happy. They give us cool drugs to make us crazy. HM’s are the Navy’s cheap way to give us some type of medical care person. Their cure for all you pains and sickness is Motrin. Motrin makes FC’s angry so we blow stuff up.
# HT (Hull Maintenance Technician) Responsible for maintaining ship’s hulls, fittings, piping systems, and machinery. They are plumbers. They chase turds all day. They also get to weld some times. They fix the toilets so the FC’s can poop. Then the FC’s read in the crapper and learn more about blowing stuff up.
# IC (Interior Communications Electrician) Operate and repair devices used in ship’s interior communicates systems. They fix phones so the FC’s can talk. They also run SITE TV, and stuff like that. So FC’s can watch TV. The main thing they do is keep the gyro running. That way FC’s can blow stuff up.
# IS (Intelligence Specialist) Get secret military information. They do a bunch of strange things to find enemies. So FC’s can blow them up.
# MA (Master-at-Arms) Help keep law and order on the ship. That way the FC’s don’t have to kill everyone aboard. MAA make FC’s happy by letting FC’s get away with stuff like “Training Videos”. FC’s like to watch them. That makes them happy. Then they go blow stuff up.
# MS (Mess Management Specialist) They cook food and feed FC’s. FC’s like MS’s because FC’s are really hungry after blowing stuff up. Next time you see an MS tell them FC’s love them. Their food gives us gas so in combat FC’s always win in a farting contest.
# NC (Navy Counselor) Try to get FC’s to reenlist. Then FC’s get nearly $60,000 and continue the endless quest to blow stuff up.
# OS (Operations Specialist) Pretend to operate radar’s, navigation and communications equipment. They pretty much clean Combat Information Center. Then go and get FC’s a coke to drink. They sit on a console but it’s not hard to operate by any standard. They also are expertly skilled at writing backwards. OS’s break FC’s stuff (consoles) so we get mad and blow stuff up. You can’t spell LOSER without “OS”.
# PC (Postal Clerk) Mail man. He makes sure that the FC’s get their cookies from mommy. That way the FC’s are happy and continue to blow stuff up. Then the OS will ask for a cookie. Then FC’s will drop it on the floor and the OS’s will eat it. No one likes OS’s so no one sends them cookies. OS can’t spell LOSER without it.
# PN (Personnelman) Bug FC’s about personal requirements rights and benefits. They also keep records up to date. That way when a FC gets an award it goes into his Service record. That makes FC’s happy so they go blow stuff up.
# QM (Quartermaster) Steer the ship and skillfully navigate the ship. That way FC’s are closer to the stuff they blow up so they can take pictures.
# IT (Information Technician) They use to be RM’s (Radioman) Operate communications. Like E-mail and secret communications as well. That way FC’s can write home about stuff they blew up. Plus the ship can talk to other ships about stuff the FC’s blew up. That way the FC’s feel good and get a ribbon.
# SH (Ship’s Serviceman) Manage barber shops, ships store etc. That way FC’s can have candy that the OS’s, ET’s, and GM’s buy them. The FC’s can also get a hair cut and look sharp for the pictures after blowing stuff up.
# SK (Storekeeper) Supply clerks. They order stuff for the ship. That way the FC’s can have new parts for the equipment. Or a new shirt and some pants. SK’s get us stuff so we can blow stuff up.
# SM (Signalman) Lookouts, use visual signals to communicate. That way they can tell the ship we blew up with no power “Ha Ha you piece of $#!t my FC’s blew you up” SM also pick up dead birds that the Fire Control Radar kills. SM also put up pretty flags so the ship looks nice. They also get really, really drunk and yell and scream and drag poor HM’s out of their racks at 0100 so they can scream and cry like little girls. That pisses the FC’s off so they blow stuff up. SM’s also see ship and other targets on the ocean. Then the FC’s blow them up.
# ST (Sonar Technician) Look for things long and hard full of seaman. ST’s try to find subs. But usually the FC’s find them when subs pop up from the water. Then the FC’s blow them up. ST’s are also used as manual labor. That way FC’s can sleep. Most of the time they can’t because ST’s like to moan in their rack. Sitting alone in sonar make you freaky. When FC’s see ST’s they get mad and blow stuff up.
# TM (Torpedoman’s Mate) TM’s maintain underwater explosive materials. TM’s annoy subs so the sub will finally surface. Then the FC’s will blow it up. TM’s make it fun for the FC’s to think about blowing subs up.
# YN (Yeoman) Secretarial work and clerical work. They write things into FC’s records so the FC’s can blow stuff up. YN’s do a lot of paper work. So they are busy and can never help FC’s. So FC’s get mad and blow stuff up.
Well that’s about it. Remeber FC’s are crazy. 55.3 degrees pouring on your head endlessly. Along with Radiation and other evil means of mind control. FC’s go insane and cause public disturbances and willy grabbing. There are other rates in the Navy as well. Some how in the end they all work for the FC.

I have returned!

Did the dream really have to end...
Posted 15 years ago... Would of been nice if it could of gone on forever, instead of only lasted three weeks.
I was having such an amazing time with Suki, that it doesn't seem like I'd been there that long. It felt more like I'd just gotten there when and then it was time to come back to my parents' place...
She is just so beautiful and amazing <3 I can't wait to see her again and for December to roll around, as then she'll be moving in with me and well be together forever then =D
Mmm its hard to remember all that happened, as it was like living in a near perfect dream....
It all seemed to go by so quickly, but one thing that I remember perfectly is when I first got down there, pulling into the parking lot and there she was sitting beside the building, ipod in her ears and just kind of looking off into space. And my heart just leaped for joy when my eyes fell apon her. I just slowed to a stop and waved saying, "Hello!" And her eyes just sparked and she smiles so lovingly, then she giggled and said to park the car as I was blocking traffic X3
Mmm after that we got a few thing and when to the bay park, were we grilled up some stakes I brought from home, and after a lovely pickneck we headed out caught a movie before I took her home. It was just so amazing to be able to kiss her good nigh and say I'll see you in the morning. Mmm well the rest of the week we mostly spent our time hanging out, when to the movies a few times, walked around the mall and down at the beach once.
After the first week, I went to FWA and sadly my love couldn't get off work to come with me. I missed having her about there, being able to hold her and tenderly kiss her cheek and lips. Even though I had a good time there, I couldn't wait to get back to and hold her once more.
I spent another week with her, and we spent it about the same as the first, hung out at the mall and movies, as well as spending a lot of time at her house playing games and watching, Nightmare on Elm ST. moves, and NCIS, as well as snuggling on her bed some as we watched the shows. I loved those nights, as we lay there watching the TV and the few times she fell asleep snuggled up ageist me with are arms around each other. On of the best nights however, was suppose to of been the last night I was there, we spend in bay view park, just wandering around the place, and then the moment that stopped my hear happened... I asked her if after being together in person if she thought she could some day marry me. She looked real stern and said, "No." I thought I was going to die on the spot my heart sank so low... then she got this hug loving smile on her face as she said, "I don't think I could, I know I could!" I then felt like I was floating on a cloud, the love of my life just said that she'd marry me one day, I could do any thing for a while, save fore wrap my arms around her and hold her tight. After that we went for a drive and got lost, but we didn't care as it was just the two of us, turning ever which way we pleased as we cursed down the road.
Then she got word that her dad was real bad sick, so she decide she wanted quit her job, to move back in with her parents seeing as he was doing so badly. So I stayed another week to help her move, seeing as her grandma wouldn't drive her back to her parents. Not that I'm complaining any, as I got to spend another week with her. Those last few days were great, as I got to stay in the office shed behind her grandma's house, and we spent many a long night snuggling in her bed until her uncle got finished in the office, as I had to go out there after that, but those nights were grand. She'd love snuggling up ageist my back and resting her head on my shoulder as we watched NCIS, and most nights she'd fall to sleep like that and I'd just felt like I was in heaven. Then came the time for the move, we loaded up my car early in the morning and headed out, it was a little over a three hour drive out to her parents' place. Once there we unloaded the car, then went and picked her brother and her best friend up from school. We all spent the night hanging out and having a good time. I got rather sad for a bit there and when out for a walk to clear my head, sadly I upset Suki doing so, as I didn't say I was going out, because she looked like she was having such a fun time with her mom and friend, that I didn't want to interrupt them. After that we spend most the night talking about things...
It was so hard to leave her behind when the time finally came the next morning, for me to return to my parents'... I wish there had be some way for me to stay or for her to come back with me... But I took comfort in the fact that I'll see her again soon, after boot and then come December I return and bring her to live with me forever.
There are no good byes between my love and I, there are only, see you soons <3
