Not much of an update...
Posted a month agoPretty much sums me up at the moment.
Dad's cremation, "burial", and Jaws.
Posted 2 months agoThe last week has been very stressful for me, and it's been nearly a month since dad passed, just short of his birthday that's coming up. Got a large sum of money from life insurance though mom is spending a lot of it on repairing and renovation the old pipes and water damaged floor tiles. Also bought a new set of furniture to replace dad's hospital bed in the living room. Still can't get use to that yet.
Well last week we finally got his death certificate and gave it to the crematorium as well as some clothes to burn dad in. The next day totally pissed me off. I was expecting to see him in the casket with his eyes closed and hands on his chest like I see on tv. Instead he's in a large cardboard box, and for some damned reason not only is his eyes wide open but him mouth as well with his tongue hanging out. I don't the last time to see him having a derpy look on his face, but they told us to not touch him when I tried to close his eyes and mouth. I was going to go off on them but mom started to break down sobbing again so I kept quiet. I was hesitant of hitting the button to start the incinerator but mom stepped up to the task. Broke me heart when she pressed the button, heard the machine roar to life, and caught her as she fell to her knees. Had to come back the next day, mom was quiet the whole day, barely ate or slept. She started to cry again as we got the urn that had what was left of my dad, felt a lot heavier than I was expecting.
The week waiting for his request for his ashes to be spread out at sea was troublesome. I found out to properly bury someone at sea you need to be 3 miles out and to notify the EPA. My uncle married my moms sister who was a sailor and good friend of my dad managed to get a friend to hook us up with a boat had us scheduled to go out in a pontoon boat on Labor Day. I have no idea what a pontoon boat is until I tell my coworker what he had planned and he's had 30 years experience in the Coast Guard. He told me that taking something like that out to sea when it's storming is a horrible idea. I spent several nights trying to explain it to my family that going out to sea in a pontoon boat is a bad idea but I couldn't convince them to get something bigger. Fuck it, I can't fix stupid. Least I can do is contact the Coast Guard prior and when we sink I'll be sure to remind them I fucking told them so when we're drowning. The surprised look on my face the next morning when I find out we are apparently dropping my dads remains in a nearby lake instead of the ocean. I bring up that dad requested to be buried at sea, and find out that to my mom that oceans, rivers and lakes are pretty much the same because they're all water. I don't know if she was having a blonde moment, going senile in her old age, or just plain dumb. But I was not going to waste time trying to explain the difference to her, let her deal with dad's ghost if he decides to haunt us for not doing as he asked. He's lucky she didnt flush him down the toilet with her logic. I'd rather spend 4 hours in choppy lake waters than the sea. And good lord the water was choppy. I swear it was like hitting every single pothole on a long drive, even the captain of the boat said he's glad he wasn't out at sea because of all the white heads he was seeing on the lake. Mom asked if he couldn't just drive around them and look some of the flat water. My sailor uncle just looked at her and then asked me if dad ever taught her a thing about the sea. I told him that mom can't even figure out how to pump gas on her own, what chances are there that she'd know a damned thing about the ocean?
I spent an hour clinging to my life vest, trying to keep down breakfast as we y bounced to a deep part of the lake far from shore to say goodbye to dad. By some stroke of luck the winds calmed, the waves stopped and the clouds parted and the sun shone on us while we poured him into the water. I'm not a religious person but I took that as a good sign. Didn't last long though cause it started to rain on us afterwards. The boat captain took us to a restaurant by the docks where we stayed for the remainder. He refunded the remaining hours because it wouldn't be safe to go back out but we at least treated him to lunch since he is a friend of my uncles. Needless to say not only I don't have sea legs I don't even have lake legs. Doesn't really matter, I always try to avoid the water as much as possible. Doesn't matter what type, lake, river or ocean. And the reason being is...
We went to see the 50th anniversary of Jaws in Imax as well. Good thing I didn't see the film before we got on the boat because I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have gotten on it to begin with. To this day it's still one of the few movies that scares the shit out of me, and I grew up watching stuff no child should have been watching at the age of 5. Stuff like Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th. I oddly found slasher films hilarious. But things like Alien and The Thing, that shit was scary to me since they built the actual things as opposed to CGI these days. But Jaws always holds a special place in my heart ever since. One of my fondest memories of my dad was him telling us when he first saw it in Japan in a theater packed full of sailors and how everyone freaked out when the head popped out. And dad told me the story of the U.S.S. Indianapolis because I couldn't understand about half the things that Quint said in the movie with that accent of his. And the John Williams score for it still sends chills down my spine, especially after watching it in IMAX. I remember checking out so many books on sharks at the library and at schools, loved the trips to the aquarium and Marineland. Loved when I finally got to go through the shark tunnel at Seaworld. And I loved the shark weeks, especially the two Jackass ones. Didn't care for the Jaws sequels and imitators, though I did enjoy the ride at Universal. But the time I went snorkeling in the Bahamas and I saw that black tipped reef shark appear from the darkness out of nowhere and just ignored me as it went by. Didn't go back to the water until recently. These days I keep seeing videos on YouTube of people spinning sharks around on their noses that it's ridiculous. Almost as crazy as vids of Florida people petting alligators and calling them swamp puppies. Too much of that "Can I pet dat dawg?" energy.
Still wouldn't mind getting a chance to get in a cage or scuba with some. Maybe in the future. For now just getting ready to finally take a trip to Busch Gardens while mom gambles at the Hard Rock. Hope I don't end up with a Fabio facial.

Update on the latest situation.
Posted 2 months agoIt's been a week since my dad passed and I am so worn out. He hasn't even been cremated yet and my family wasted no time in renting a dumpster to throw out all the stuff he's hoarded over the years. I thought I was bad with my model kits and figurines, but my dad was another thing. I could understand the book collection that I've never seen him read but he had so many magazines such as National Geographics and Readers Digest just stockpiled so much that it was a fire hazard just waiting to happen. Relatives took various items such as clothes, dvds and cds, and other things. Got a bit awkward when we discovered his porn stash. We're keeping a bunch of photos of him as well as his Navy memorabilia. The only thing I kept for myself was a small toy R2 unit I put together for him when I went to Disney that he kept next to his computer, not to mention his computer we bought for him for father's day that barely got used by the time he got diagnosed with lung cancer and he was too weak to move to use it. Now I gotta figure out how to use a Mac now.
Been sore from moving lots of trash bags full of stuff that needed to be disposed of as well as dealing with allergies from so much dust from cleaning out his man cave, which I will be converting into my model kit hangar eventually. Donating what books we find to the library after trying to see if we can get any money from this bookmine nearby. Mom is notorious for just throwing out crap she doesn't think is worth anything but luckily we prevented her from throwing out a perfectly good record collection that one of my sisters sold online for over a grand. Don't know who is worse, mom throwing away perfectly good stuff, or dad and his hoarding. I know I got my hoarding habit from dad, that's for sure.
Still waiting for the death certificates to come to us so we can eventually cremate him. Gonna keep a bit of him at home while the rest we are going to dump at sea. Kinda strange, I only wept on the day he died and haven't given him much of a thought afterwards. Probably because of keeping busy. Poor mom was a wreck for the first few days, not eating or sleeping but she's back to her old self now. I'm honestly relieved that I don't have to take care of him anymore, been doing so for nearly the last 20 years. Hopefully I don't have to take care of mom anytime soon but she's taken better are of herself more than dad did for his self. I'm certain she'd outlive me. The last 3 years were hard on us since dad had his stroke, I guess I feel this way because I knew it was gonna happen sooner than later, or maybe I thought my dad was already dead. It's funny though that the doc said he had 6 months to live and yet he stuck around for 3 years.
It feels weird to be free of the burden of being a caretaker. Though there goes a major source of income. Hopefully we get something back for the life insurance at least. Still gonna be busy with paperwork and the last of cleaning up but doing okay otherwise. Think me and the sisters will treat mom to a cruise for Xmas at least. Neither of us has been able to go do anything since his stroke but now we got lots of free time.
Edit: Many thanks to those that shared their condolences in my previous journal. I'm grateful for your support.

Dad finally passed away.
Posted 3 months agoI'm going to be away for a while. My dad unfortunately just passed on not more than an hour ago. We were eating with him, he started to choke, we tried to clear his airway and I spent nearly 5 minutes doing cpr before the ambulances showed up. Followed them to the hospital but sadly he did not regain a pulse and is now gone.
Last thing I said to him was if he was doing okay, and the last thing he told me was that he was glad I was helping him around the house.
And now after 76 years he's gone. Sisters are helping mom and I'm dealing with paperwork, going to be busy for the next week or so.
But right now, I'm gonna cry like a little bitch because I don't have my daddy anymore, and it fucking sucks.
I'm only glad that he's no longer in pain. His last few years were a bitch on him with the cancer and the stroke and the diabetes. I don't know what I'm going to do right now, but I'll come back eventually.
Take care everyone.

Long Live the Prince of Darkness!
Posted 3 months ago...you know, I can't figure out why they say that after the person dies but I'm certain he'll forever be remembered.
I feel a disturbance in The Schwartz...
Posted 4 months agoI do hope it's better than History of the World part 2. Okay folks, hit me with your favorite quote from the film. Keep firing assholes!
Remakes, remaster, reimaginings.
Posted 4 months agoI'm busy waiting in the theater before watching Dandadan: Evil Eye, wondering when did they start making theatrical features pretty much 3 episode compilations of anime series. Found out the hard way when we went to see Gundam: Gquacks, Demon Slayer: Mugen Trainarc and it's second film I can't remember the name of. And I'm pretty sure there others I'm missing.
But while I was waiting I saw so many advertisements for the How to train your Dragon live action remake. Skrappy really wants to see it for his birthday since he's a big fan of the first movie, yet oddly hasn't seen the final film of the series though he did buy the Riders of Berk series on dvd. I might go watch with him because from the looks of it there doesn't seem to be much changed from the earlier film.
Can't say the same for Lilo and Stitch though. I originally wanted to see it because I was a fan of the original movie, even saw it earlier this week. But after hearing of the changes they made to Cobra Bubbles, Jumbo and not even having Gantu, I decided to avoid it, maybe watch it later on Plus. I hear it get so much hate for all it's changes, yet it made so much money over the week. Odd since alot of the advertisements and products I see on sale, have the animated Stitch and not the cgi one.
I have only seen a few of these remakes if you can even call them that, reimaginings maybe? Saw the Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland but that was more a freaky sequel if I think about it. Saw Malificent, never saw the original film it's supposed to be based of but did enjoy it, haven't seen it's sequel though. And I saw the Jungle Book which I also enjoyed and I have seen the original film on that. Still can't figure out why a bear is in a jungle of all places. But aside from that the only other remake I've seen was True Grit and The Magnificent 7, both movies I enjoyed, despite not having seen the originals. Dunno if Shin Godzilla, Shin Kamen Rider or Shin Ultraman would count though I did like the Kamen Rider and Ultraman ones, didn't care for Godzilla though...Godzilla Minus One however, totally my favorite film. Now that I think about it does every time they reboot a Marvel or DC hero franchise do those count as reboots? How many Spiderman and Superman origins do I have to watch over again? Glad the MCU Spiderman already killed off Uncle Ben earlier on.
Don't know if I'll ever watch the other remakes, especially after Disney expected me to pay extra for Plus to watch Mulan. Don't think I'll ever watch the Snow White one or even the Little Mermaid one. Definitely never watching the Alladin one, Williams as the Genie is the only way for me. May watch the Lion King films one day out of curiosity. I wonder how many other films they got like this in their library.
And since I'm ranting about rethings, a friend asked me if I got the Remaster for Oblivion yet. I confessed that I have at least 5 copies of Skyrim that I haven't even beaten yet, and one of those is a remastered recollection rerelease something or another. I still haven't even finished a playthrough of Fallout 4 yet! And I didn't even bother when they brought up the Final Fantasy 7 remaster. I only beat the original game once, I don't have time to play another flashy version of it.
So what are your thoughts about Remakes, remaster, reimaginings rewhatevers.

I just learned about Takeo Ischi today...
Posted 5 months agoWas at work listening to video game songs at random when this little gem came along.
Takeo Endboss
Got curious about why an old Japanese guy was yodeling so I looked up some of his other songs. Turns out the Yodelmeister has been doing this for over 50 years and I'm just now hearing about him and his chicken!
I haven't hear someone Japanese speak such fluent German since Girls Und Panzer.
And it turns out he has an attack chicken!
Chicken Attack!
Plus pork!
Pig Chicken Attack!
A rat!
Rat Attack!
And a freaking cow.
Cow Attack!
I don't know how I missed this guy throughout the years, aside from not living in Germany any. Did anyone who lived in Europe for the last 5 decades know about him? I'm curious.
Edit: Watch the Attack videos with captions on, trust me.

Tried to quit, got dragged back in.
Posted 5 months agoTry as I might, it seems I can't even leave for a month to try out new things like the Ghost Bear Expansion for Mechwarrior 5 Clans, or even the Oblivion Remake/Remaster? Tried to take some time off from Helldivers 2 thinking things won't change much.
I come back an Super Earth is being invaded by The Illuminate with new units. Luckily they gave us some new toys to play with, a leveling weapons customization skill tree, and NPC allies that are almost as good as some of the IRL players...sometimes.
Recent footage from a defense mission trying to hold off an invasion fleet.
Gotta give the game credit though. I usually avoid playing multi-player games, live service ones especially. But this I can't put down.
Another recent battle against the bots.
Don't have time for Doom Dark Ages when I'm in my own personal Hell.

Got an interview with Amazon and I think I'm a dasher now.
Posted 6 months agoGot an interview later next week for an Amazon driver. Hopefully I can use my own vehicle and not have to drive a big van.
Signing up with Doordash was alot simpler than I expected. I'll probably make my first drop in the next few days. Already got a hot bag to carry pizza to be sent in the mail. Will definitely have my conceal carry with me at all times, hope I don't have to use it. I only plan on getting a few places close to home during lunch and only during the day. I don't trust night orders.
Any Dashers here have any advice? I tried talking to a few when picking up to go food for my folks or receiving orders for people in the building I security for, but most of them don't speak English for some reason...

Getting tired of my job.
Posted 6 months agoBeen well over a year or so since I quit the airport and started working armed security at a control center. I can't believe myself when I'm sick and tired of it all. I thought it was great that instead of having to deal with thousands of rude passengers every day I with maybe a dozen people if I'm lucky, and many of those are usually door dash delivery drivers that don't speak English. Other times it's people who get lost thinking they're at the YMCA because they never updated the GPS locations around here for some reason. I thought I'd enjoy how not busy I'd be, but after a few hours, especially on weekends, it bores me to tears. I can't leave the control center save for bathroom runs so long as I have my coworker present or when I do my few walking patrols. Aside from that it's sitting on my ass all day and that gets dull real quick. My coworkers aren't fun to deal with either. All of them are older than 70 and some of them can't figure out the technology we have to use for the job like the computers or the freaking cell phones. I've had to show one of the old men several times how to use the touch screen and he still can't figure it out. One other coworker is just annoying as heck and it's hard to ignore her.
I also can't stand how the people I work for won't repair the security equipment we need to operate the facility. 1 of the 3 computer monitors for our camera systems broke years ago, they can't spare the funds to fix that but every few months they replace half their lcd monitors for their offices and throw out perfectly good monitors for recycling. Our intercomm system that got hit by lightning over 2 years ago doesn't want to work half the time. And half of the badge readers in the building don't work for some reason.
And I'm really frustrated with the company I'm working for that contracted me to work out here for them. I've had to constantly send them information either in regards to training or pay issues because whoever is in HR always misplaced it or never got it. They really tried to screw me over for overtime because our automated clock in system acts up when I work over my scheduled hours. Wouldn't be my fault if my coworker who is supposed to relieve me would stop showing up 10-15 minutes late each night. And we're so short manned they asked me to give up one of my days off which is when I'm caretaking for my dad to come in, trying to guilt trip me into taking one for the team, and then screwing me over by not giving me full pay for the two extra hours early I showed up on the next day. And I'm STILL waiting for a spare or extra uniform, especially one that'll fit!
I'm fed up with them. I'm tired of doing security gigs. I've been doing security for damned near half my life and I want to try something else! I've got my eyes on delivery drivers for UPS and Amazon as well as a driving job where I deliver groceries to the homes of old folks or take them to medical appointments. I'm hoping to get picked up for one of those jobs before I lose what's left of my mind at this place.

Found some interesting animations.
Posted 7 months agoA friend showed me one, I found one at random, and another I had to hunt down from various shorts.
Trials for Miles. Reminds me of the what a cartoon shorts from long ago. Cute characters.
Fox Elevator Boy Renard. Wow, the animation is just stunning! I love the designs and the transformation.
Chogakusei- Pa Pa Pa. I'm not exactly sure what the heck I watched, but I like the design.
So what do you all think? Have you found anything interesting you'd like to share too?

Had a good birthday the other day.
Posted 7 months agoUsually I dread when April 1st comes, not only because it's another reminder I'm not as young as I used to be, but there's always the chance someone would stress me out with a prank. Scrappy wanted to treat me since he won a couple grand off a scratch off ticket and we were originally going to a Dave and Busters to eat and play all day but an accident on the bridge over there put a damper on our plans. Luckily he had a plan B. He told me that as long as it's within city limits, didn't involve adopting another animal, and was under $1,000 he'd cover the cost.
Bet he wasn't expecting me to get a new addition to my gun collection.
Got a brand new folding carbine chambered in 9mm, red dot sight and 100 rounds of ultralight ammo to top off the 3 magazines that were included in it. Everything just came under $800. I'm looking forward to trying it out next week at the range. I think Skrappy was more surprised that my computer cost twice as much as a gun. Then again we saw several .22 semi automatic pistols for under $250 and thought that was rare to see.
Afterwards went to see Death of a Unicorn.
A nice comedy/horror film where most of the people that get killed really deserved it. I liked how the monster in the film look like a Xenomorphed horse. Really liked it, kinda on the level as Cocain Bear.
Another year gone by, just hoping I can hang on to see another one.
Edit: I just found out Val Kilmer died on my birthday. That'll put a damper on things. So long Iceman.

Anyone suggest this RPG Maker Bundle?
Posted 7 months agohttps://www.humblebundle.com/softwa.....hrees_tile_index_1_c_rpgmakerbeyondexcpectationsbundle_softwarebundle
I've only dabbled with one on the 3DS years ago and played a few others made on the PS4. Never did get far with it, but I wonder what I could do on a PC and with the free time I have at my security job.
Has anyone here ever dabbled with an RPG Maker before?

I usually don't preorder games...
Posted 8 months agoBut I am definitely going to be pre ordering this. ^_^
Man, I loved watching this show. One of the few times I enjoyed a dubbed anime and probably my favorite up there with Ghost Stories and DBZ Abridged.

Went to see "Love Hurts" Greatly enjoyed it. ^_^
Posted 8 months agoHad time to kill before I went to the gym so decided to check out a movie at the theater to kill time. Didn't care for much of the selection so I picked out one that I haven't seen a trailer for and it turned out to be "Love Hurts." Was expecting it to be some rom-com that I'd probably nap through, did not expect it to be a modern day equivalent to an early Jackie Chan film.
I was laughing my ass off at the comedic fights, wincing at some of the brutal hits, and enjoyed it more than I was expecting. Great story of an ex hit man getting dragged back to his old life to save the woman he loves, and lots of ass kicking for the ride.
After the film I decided to look up information about the lead and was surprised that the hero is a freaking grown up Short-round from Temple of Doom, or Data from The Goonies, Ke Huy Quan. I need to check out his previous film, "Everywhere all at once" if I remember correctly.
All in all, wanna see a good martial arts film with some laughs, check it out. It's just like an old Jackie Chan film. Now I gotta rent the other film. Check out the trailer till next time.

I wish I knew about Steam alternatives earlier...
Posted 10 months agoIt's a bit late but now I think I'm regretting buying a Steam deck. I mean it's useful at time and runs smoother when I hook it up to a dock and connect it to a TV than when I hook up my gaming laptop. Sometimes I'm worried the thing is going to overheat simple running SD Gundam, at least when it was able to. Don't know why it doesn't want to run the game now. But I bought lots of Steam bundles over the last few months, and like always only got to play just a few of them. I don't know why I do this all the time, buying games but never playing them. It's as bad as my unwatched dvd/blu ray and digital collection. And now I've been reading that the games I've been buying on Steam are only 'licenses' to play them and not the actual games, which means if for some reason they decide to get rid of them I'm SOL. It's just like with the issues I had with PSN and Nintendo years ago.
But what really bit me in the butt was that there were alternatives besides Steam that I could have been getting for free! I recently discovered that with my Amazon Prime subscription that there was a gaming section and that they occasionally give out free copies of games every month. Granted that I had to get accounts for Epic and GOG but hey, free shit is always good. In the past few months since getting back into computer gaming I got over 50 different free games for Epic, GOG and Amazon. It's a bit of a pain that I haven't found out how to play them on the Deck but some of the games need a screen bigger than what the deck has. And apparently GOG doesn't use DRM so whatever game I get, I keep.
And correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't GOG supposed to be "Good Old Games" in the past? When did they become "Galaxy of Games"?
Busy playing Lego: Lord of the Rings right now. Still upset they never did the final part for the Lego: Hobbit game though. Hope to one day complete the Star Wars: Lego games though, even if I have to force myself to play the Sequels...
EDIT: Forgot to ask, are there any other ways besides Steam or the launchers I mentioned to play games on your computer? I also play some NSFW ones via Nutaku, Kagura, JAST and DLSite. ^_^
Better yet, what's your favorite game that you're playing currently? I'm still trudging along in a modded Fallout 4 PC run.
Oh! I forgot about Humble Bundle! I can't believe how many games, and books and comics, I can get for just a fraction of a price. Granted the games it lets me redeem are only on Steam, but I got almost all the Civilization games for just over $10. I even got a bundle for a friend's wife for Xmas. And if I already have some of the games, I can give the extras away to friends on Steam. I freaking love Humble Bundle. Still not subscribing to it though, but the bundles are great.

Time for some Xmas song earworms.
Posted 11 months agoNow that Halloween and Turkey Day are well and done with now we gotta put up with all the Xmas songs everywhere. Though if you gone to some places near where I live they've been playing Xmas songs even before Halloween passed. Man, I would hate to work there for an extended period of time. But luckily instead of having to hear that one song from Mariah Carey all the damned time there are always lots of 'optional' songs to listen to. Here's a few that I enjoy.
Ere we go!
Try not to be a cunt for Christmas
I don't know what Christmas is but Christmas time is here!
Sweet Peppermint Cat
Her Favorite Things.
I know the last 2 probably shouldn't count, but I couldn't resist. I want a peppermint cat for Xmas. ^_^ Do any of you all have a favorite Xmas spoof or parody? Share it with the rest of us.

Fury and the Fox
Posted 11 months agoKinda hard to keep track of everything when playing two games of Fallout 4 at the same time. For my unmodded PS5 game I'm trying out playing as a guy and made him a John Wick expy and named him Fury.
And for my heavily modded PC game I'm playing as Agent Fox who prefers stealth more than her alternative. Still using the same 10mm I left the vault with as well, though it has been heavily modified.
So, would you rather take on a 220+ year old war veteran Hell bent on finding his kid, of the giant somewhat naked fox lady?
Note: Will most likely make her wear more in future vids just in case.

Foxfolk in Fallout 4?
Posted 11 months agoIt took me a long while to figure out how to set it up but after looking at some youtube tutorials and advice from friends I not only figured out how to mod the main character, companions and many of the settlers into fox people, I also figured out how to make recordings on Steam.
Sadly the Vulpine race mod isn't available on the consoles but it easy enough to find on PC copies of the game when you search for it.
I'm deciding to try play the game in 2 ways. On PC as a fox woman named...well, Fox. It's one of the few names Codsworth would call me by. And on console, I'm actually gonna try play as a male John Wick style guy named Mr. Fury where I would make the decisions I usually wouldn't do on a normal playthrough.
Maybe one day I should try a survival run.
Going back into the Wasteland again, and it's still a mes...
Posted 12 months agoI swore that I was never going to go back into Fallout 4 after having my save corrupted after spending way too much time building up my settlements and pimping out my power armor that I had a 2 story garage with customized suits I was never gonna use. But I finally caved in and started watching the Fallout show on Prime and was very surprised at how good it was.
So I tried to give 76 a shot since I got a free copy with PSN. Fun, but crashed slot because of bad internet connection so I decided not to put any time or money into it. Tried to stream New Vegas via something called Luna but I'd rather play on my PC copy. Love 3 and NV but it is hard going back to deteriorating armor and weapons after getting spoiled by 4. Kinda like how hard it is to go back to Oblivion after Skyrim.
Tried 4 on Steam but encountered some glitch where I can't see text descriptions for actions like "press x to modify" or "press y to transfer items. I just get a blank box with no text and I don't know if it is because one of the mods from creation club or something else. I still have my PS4 copy which thankfully got a free upgrade to PS5 so I decided to start a new game there and try and focus on doing missions and stories instead of tinkering.
And after getting gangbanged by a horde of ghouls, scared shitless by a Death Claw in a hospital basement, fast traveling to a vendor just as a super mutant decides to spike his mini nuke to kill a feral dog, and getting blasted to bits by a wandering group of rouge robots while trying to chat with a merchant I decided that maybe I should grind some more. I almost called it quits when I was trying to sneak on an enemy, go into VATS, use a sniper rifle with the crit bonus. Dogmeat decides to walk under me, suddenly I'm 300 feet in the air, take the shot and blow the guys head off, but then fall to my death...
And this was supposed to be the 'upgraded' version? I'm curious about trying that other game similar to Fallout that was made by the New Vegas crew. Outer Worlds I think it was called? Either way I'm still having a good time despite it's glitches. Kinda funny talking to someone and all of a sudden I see the flash of a mini nuke go off and find out a Super Mutant killed himself and his two partners trying to kill a mole rat.
Do you have any silly or interesting moments in the Fallout universe? Which ones are your favorites? Any tips or suggestions for those stepping in for the first time or going back in after a long time? I am personally on a quest to find the Big Boy, a Fat Man that launches 2 mini nukes for the price of one. Rumor has it that if you can get it the MIRV upgrade it can launch 12 mini nukes at once. I am so going to get my revenge on those Death Claws once I get my hands on one. I won't be the only one getting fat man facials now.

Had a good Halloween this year.
Posted 12 months agoDid pretty good this year. Got to use the lanterns and strobes I got on mark down from last year. A bit worried that I got too small a candy bag to give out this year. Before I was able to fit 2 of the big named brand candies and 8 smaller cheapo brands, this year the bags could only fit a single big piece and 3 smalls. Luckily had enough candy to fill 200 of them. Bought a few extra dum dum and tootsie pop mini bags just in case though.
Started to get set up around 5pm, synched a pair of Bluetooth speakers to play this.
Put on my hooded cape and plague doctor mask on and waited for a while. Waited out there for a while till the first kids showed up around 6. Handed 3 bags per kid and then it got dark quick. Ditched the mask, pulled out a pair of lightsabers I got on sale at ownasaber.com and got quite slot of kids at various intervals.
One cute toddler seemed fascinated with the lightsabers and reached out for one and I let him hold onto one. He was adorable holding the blade of it and bopping him mom with the handle. Ended up making him cry when we had to take the saber from him and tried to give him a glowstick in return. Didn't spook or scare any kids last night oddly. Many of them were either fascinated by my lightsabers or the lightning ball I had on the table. Quite surprised that many of them never seen one before and it was neat to see their reactions when they touched my ball. The kids that were interested in my sabers enjoyed themselves when I let them hold onto after I changed the red blade to a more heroic green one. Fought a few of them, let them win of course. Some parents took pics with the dad holding the red, the kid the green, and me in the back like the Emperor. Turned the blades blue and put the Revenge of the Sith soundtrack on while I let two brothers duel. It was fun to watch last night.
But I think the best was thanks to the Scooby show soundtrack I had going on. Lots of the parents paused and looked around before realizing they heard that theme song somewhere before. But those meddling kids didn't seem to notice at all. Oddly enough, I did have a single Scooby show up last night and gave him some snacks.
Ran out of candy shortly past 9, put down my stuff and called it a night. Watched that 3 Stooges collection I put up earlier and here we are. How was your Halloween?

Spooks vs Nyuks.
Posted 12 months agoHappy Halloween everyone. ^_^
Joined the Palworld bandwagon.
Posted a year agoMight as well before Nintendo tries to ruin it for everyone. Got a copy for my PS5 the other day and was quite surprised to find out it is more of a survival carfting game like ARK more than a Poke'mon imitator.
I always wanted to try out a survival style game. Never did like Minecraft much and multi-player ones were always too hard or competitive for me. No Man's Sky bored me to sleep and Subnautica scared the crap out of me. Wasn't happy with 7 Days to Die and other imitators couldn't hook me in
But I bought and installed Palworld last night and after taking care of my dad. Just a bit past midnight and I thought I was gonna stop after making a base camp at least. 7 hours later, I'm busy trying to kill this giant lvl 35 plant mammoth after watching it fight another one to the death and it had a tiny little sliver of health left. Thought I could get an easy kill on it. I used up all 200 of my arrows, get my team wiped, ruined the durability of my armor and weapons, left with just a spear and trying to circle it and poke it in the butt, only to fall off the mountain we were battling on and drown. At least I did collect lots of materials from all the trees, rocks, and stray Pals that got wiped in it's AOE attacks.
Decided to call it quits when I saw the sun creeping through the window. I haven't done something like that in years. Tried to get at least 4 hours of sleep, kept thinking of the game and how I can't wait to get back into it. Decided to buy a copy on Steam as well just in case the power gets knocked out during Milton, I can still play it while we wait for the power to come on.
So, is anyone else wanting to try the game that has Nintendo scared enough to use lawyers? Or if you already played it, what do you think of it?

Second thoughts on the Steam Deck.
Posted a year agoIt may be frustrating at first and the fact I can't get online at work due to VPN firewalls so I can't download games, updates or stream to my laptop.
But once I download some games onto it, and surprised how quickly I filled up it's storage, it is an okay trinket. But damn, 130 gigs for Mass Effect Legendary Edition, sheesh. Thank goodness Master Chief collection let's you download each game as separate dlc.
Shame the text heavy games are kinda hard to read but at home once I hooked it up to a C/HDMI cable to my TV it works perfectly fine. Aside from being disconnected to power but it doesn't keep it's screen on so that helps with the power drain. Kinda odd playing something on the TV while holding something as big as a Wii U controller.
Able to link a tiny tablet keyboard through Bluetooth for text and things that need keyboard commands but can't use the mouse since the cable to the TV takes up its only usb c slot. Takes a bit getting used to using the track pads and shoulder buttons as a mouse but it's workable.
Overall, I'm liking it more than I did before, not as good as a new computer but not as expensive. I think only because I have a huge Steam library, which is still a pain only a 3rd of my games are supported by it, is why it's going to get any use out of me. Still wished I could use Windows on it though.

I think only because I have a huge Steam library, which is still a pain only a 3rd of my games are supported by it, is why it's going to get any use out of me. Still wished I could use Windows on it though.
