I’m back!… Sorta!

I understand it’s been a very long time since I’ve posted here, but there’s a reason: I got a lot more used to uploading my work & doing business outside of FA.

My new year’s goal is to diversify and make use of this site more for uploading my work, but if anybody is interested in keeping up to date with where you’re most likely to see my stuff, Twitter is your best place to see it!

I’ll be uploading more stuff, including an updated price sheet and some other bits of work I’ve done over time. It’s all gonna be baby steps for now, so I do appreciate the patience of me getting back to an online presence here!

First, I need to apologise for my abrupt hiatus from posting anything on FA and a bunch of other websites, even though I've been active elsewhere behind the scenes.

I'm still living with my folks and around last year, I started going back to university around the same time I started my third batch of commissions, and so I had to put those aside while I studied. Around comes the first tuition payment that I can't afford and eventually causes me to drop out, and so that leads to me ending up going offline as I'm pretty much told to find some sort of work of financial support. During then, I just lost a desire to get back online and was in and out of the worst art rut of my life

I'm technically a bit better supported financially now and was given a second chance to re-enroll this year, so I'll be back to uploading more regularly here as time goes on. As for the commissions I haven't started, they'll still be on hold until I'm feeling the confidence to commit to that sort of work. If you've moved on, I understand, but if you still desire to have that commission slot saved after all this time, please message me and let me know.



And while 2017 was a very frustrating year for me, it atleast ended with an unexpected confidence boost. For those who don't know, I've also been an on and off again concept artist for the Team Fortress 2 Emporium, collaborating with workshoppers to get content into the game. The winter update rolls around and, on the 22nd of December, 2017, I get notified that a cosmetic I'd designed has been added to the game's winter crate: The Sledder's Sidekick! It was definitely that little surprise that's brought me reassurance in who I am as an artist, as well as all the people around me that wanted me to make a return.

I must thank everyone who stuck around for so long and who are welcoming me back. I'm sorry that my behaviour was so sudden and unexplainable, but I really am grateful to be making a return after all this time away.

So because I failed to doublecheck what the dates really were (Especially with how varied the timezones are and being 11 hours ahead here in Australia) I accidentally made the closing auction date at a passed time.

This time, the auction will run all weekend, starting at 4PM UST on the 24th/09/2016 and finishing at midnight (12am UST 26/09/2016). If anyone is interested in bidding, submit your bids on the submission once it goes live tomorrow at 4pm!

Starting bid'll be $20 & if the buyer's bid exceeds $50, I'll be creating a new refsheet of the character.

The recent breach in FA security and the site being down/read-only mode for the past few days has really gotten me concerned about continuing business here as an artist by commission. I know a lot of artists, visual or textual, who use FA as their primary source of income, and whenever this site goes down from either general maintenance or being hacked, we do end up losing business. Right now, my constant jobhunting has halted me from pursuing being an artist by commission fulltime, but later down the line when I find stable work I'll be getting more into gear with commissioning.

That being said, I've also been working on an account over on FN, a website which I'll most likely be taking commissions from in the future. I'll announce future batches here as well as any other site I'm a member on, but from here on out you must proceed to my FN account in order to claim a commission slot!

The last couple of commissions I have left I will still be completing ASAP, but as for the future and how I'll be doing commissions, I'll be branching a lot more out besides just this website. I'm not planning to leave FA, despite its issues, but using it as my primary source of income will not be a wise investment if this site continues to see its share of downtimes.

The current batch is near completion, and I must admit that I've been really impressed with how it's been working out so far! Trying this out for the first time (As well as asking around for advice from other commissioning artists), I'm going to be making some changes and additions to how I'll be working from now on until the next current update:

- I'll be opening up eight slots instead of six! I'll still be operating via my "First Come, First Serve" Policy, too.

- I'll designate four slots as Clean artworks, two as Mature and the last two as Adult. As much as I enjoy drawing naughty stuff, I wish to add more cleaner content to my gallery.

- Instead of paying just around completion of your commission, payments will be made upfront. This can either be done via full payment, or we can organise to pay the first half of it up front and the last half near completion.

So, finding work here has been a bit of a slow process, as I've kinda suspected, and so to cover my own expenses I'll be announcing commissions soon. I do have a pricelist being drafted at the moment, which I'll make sure to put together to show what I'll be offering depending on what I'll be asked to draw.

While that's under way, of course, I'll also be finishing up those incredibly overdue requests (rinse and repeat, eh?) while also doing commissions/before opening up.

For now, it's been a while since I've update my list on what I will or won't draw, so I think it'd be appropriate to show that here in this journal in case you want to know what my limits are:



What I will draw:

Males, Females, Transgendered characters, Nonbinary/Agendered characters, herms.
Humans, Anthropomorphic, Alien, Robotic/Cyborg.
Characters engaging in M/F, M/M, F/F.
Pokemon & Digimon based characters.
Consensual, non aggressive sexual content.
Adjustable with body types, although I do wish to keep things ‘realistic’ in proportions (Can make adjustments, of course~!)
Vanilla kinks: Ass/breastplay, rimming & fingering, hotdogging.
Sizeplay - 2 to 3 feet in difference (Both characters must be of consensual age.)


What I will not draw:

Non consensual, aggressive sexual content.
Underaged characters.
Scenes that depict real life actors/people in romantic/sexual acts with another person, regardless of the said person’s relationships and/or sexuality.
Overexaggerated/Hyper proportions in anatomy.
Extreme fetishes: Watersports, Scatplay, Inflation, Transformation.
Sizeplay - Macro & Micro.
Content that's considered insensitive towards other races, genders, beliefs and/or sexualities.
Anatomically correct animal ‘Anatomy’ - You know exactly what I’m talking about.
Undertale.

So, I’ve been kinda silent about how my studies have been, besides the occasional concept art or short animations I’ve shown on my main artblog on Tumblr. The reason being is that I’ve sorta been feeling a bit indifferent about the direction it’s been taking towards the end, as well as a few other things.

The course is a Digital Animation course, and the only real animation related stuff we’ve completed or attempted was, like, in the last semester, and it barely went over two months. Hell, this Health and Safety class we did at the start of the year went for longer than that. Yes. Health and safety, usually something that can be covered as a whole in a two hour lecture.

While most of the teachers I’ve had throughout it have certainly been helpful, I’ll have to admit there’s one i’ve been having since the start of second semester that has made me incredibly uncomfortable. This guy’s a bit of an extreme conspiracy theorist nut and journalist, and he’d often go on for hours about media censorship, government conspiracies and how M. Night Shamilan’s The Last Airbender is actually a deep and meaningful story, and that the criticisms towards the film are unfair because the critics themselves weren’t part of the film’s target audience (I shit. You. Not). Like I said, some of these conversations would go on for a good two hours, usually because some people would become interested and contribute, thus making him talk for longer. It would take him until the last fifteen minutes to actually talk about what the fuck we’re doing in that said class, and of course it’d be too late to even start working.

This never became a problem for me until he started to insert his beliefs into our projects. The first was a slideshow video of a protest he attended and photographed, which was about Monsanto and it’s stuff about GMOs. Then he assigned us to make informative videos about how much better naturally grown foods are compared to genetically modified foods. THEN he assigned us to create a documentary about Edward Snowden, using footage both from another protest he attended and filmed and information we’d find online, and he’d use the best to post on his Youtube page.

Since then, I’ve actually decided to drop out, and from here on out I’m currently looking for part time work in my area and developing the idea of opening up for commissions (Details of this will come more into detail later down the line.)





With all this being said, I can’t say that everyone’s experience with continuing their studies will be the same. I guess my problem is that I had my hopes up about this course, expecting it to benefit me and that I’d actually pick up new things. The course was more constructed to benefit people that’ve taken a gap year in studying or to help people that have no real clue about animation and need to work better in a university environment. There was already a lot of stuff in that course that I’d already had a decent amount of knowledge of, and the animation part was also the very basics that I practiced on and off at the beginning of the year, well before we would be introduced into the animation classes.

Don’t let my account of what’s been happening to me put you off the idea of studying in college/university/wherever you may be gaining education. Some universities are much better than others, and I wouldn’t be lying if I said I didn’t appreciate being able to use some of the facilities at this campus I attended. Everyone, if you do plan to continue your studies, whether you’re applying for a bachelor in psychology or a diploma in the fine arts, then good on you and I wish you the very best. If you wish to take on the world right after completing high school, whether that’s becoming an artist by commission or finding a job in a field you’re confident to work in, then good luck to you, too.

Both paths will most certainly have their obstacles, but it’s up to you whether or not you choose to soldier on or to hang your head in defeat. May all of you strive for greatness, achieve great things and be happy with who you are. You’re all incredibly talented, and this world will benefit from what you can do.

My main blog was just a mess of stuff I've reblogged, as well as any new content I've made. To make things a lot tidier, I'm moving my SFW stuff from my main and onto a seperate blog, also to save curious eyes from, like, having a heart attack when they accidentally come across anything NSFW.

So, although this is kinda late and I should've done this at the start of the year, I just wanted to give you guys an update on what's going on in my life.

- I'm currently studying a diploma of Animation, which is gonna be going for a year. However, I plan on transferring into a bachelor by the time I finish with this one. So far, the studies have been pretty easy, but I know it's not gonna take long until my workload starts to really pick up the pace.

- Despite that, I will try to complete those extremely late requests I promised I'd do, like, almost two years ago. I really can't stress how angry I am at myself for never having the time to actually complete those, and I feel as though that now my studies are a bit more casual compared to high school, I will be able to complete them. Thank you so much for your patience, guys, and if you've changed your ideas, don't be afraid to contact me whenever you can!

- Sometime during this year, I might open up into commissions. Before I officially announce that, though, I'd feel it'd be best if I do a few more rounds of requests once I finish these late ones.

The end of the year is upon us, and I've still failed to deliver anything art related.

This year has been hectic, being swamped with school and other events popping up during the year. And whenever I found the time, I was either too tired or unmotivated to draw anything that I owe.

While I'm still on my break, I wish to complete any work that I owe people. Due to the fact my computer's been moved into a public area in my house, I won't be able to complete Adult art digitally. Anything Clean or Mature I know will be no problem.

Again, my dear and wonderful watchers, I apologize for my lack of commitment. I tried to compete with a busy schedule, but it just became too great for me.
