Got a Steam Deck! It's a bit underwhelming...
General | Posted a year agoMy hun heard about my laptop dilemma and remembered when I was on the shelf about getting a Steam Deck. He found out that they were selling their older LCD models at a discount he told me to save up for a laptop and he decided to get me one. Thankfully he fetched me one of the 500gig, though kinda 450, that ran him under $400 for everything. Got it yesterday, took it to work today to work on it and needless to say... it's a bit frustrating.
Out of the 350 games I got, damn that's alot, 71 can play on the deck with no problem. Out of the remainder maybe 100 are playable but may have some difficulties such as needing a mouse, tiny text, keyboard commands etc. Mostly visual novels and some turn based strategy games, a few RTS ones but I don't think I should attempt it.
What bothers me is the remaining games that the Deck is not supported to handle. It can run Sonic Mania and Origins but not Freedom Planet? It can play Left 4 Dead 2 but not the first game? Yakuza 0 through 5 no problem but the 6th game it can't handle? And about half my visual novels can't be played on it as well. It may be able to handle Skyrim and Fallout, but I don't know if it can deal with mods so I don't think I should bother. Not to mention I can't use my uncensored patches for some of the games since I found out it uses Linux instead of Windows. I could try to download it but was told not to, it isn't worth it. So I can't play games I have to download on the comp such as my Nutaku collection or games from Kagura's website, and certainly nothing from DLSite.
Was told that I can at least access my games from Amazon Prime, GOG and Epic through the desktop mode, gonna try that later when I get a stable wifi connection. Work's wifi keeps dropping and having to go to desktop to log in on it is a pain.
Aside from those nit picks, the Deck is okay. Just slightly bigger than my OLED Switch, not that all heavy, kinda wished it had some kind of stand. Gonna need to get a screen guard for it later as well as an extra SD card, though with how few of my games it can run I think I can make due with what I have.
All in all, the Deck is okay. Kinda glad I didn't spend more money on the OLED one. Still trying to figure out how to use it with a tv or my laptop screen though. Still can't wait to get a new laptop to replace my potato of a computer.

Transformers is 40?
General | Posted a year agoI could have sworn that Transformers was older than me. Well I stumbled onto this anniversary animation by Trigger.
https://youtu.be/YoeyfTGI7ik
I was able to recognize most of the references such as Prime and Animated and Beast Wars which are my favorites, and even the Bayformers which isn't one of my favorites...Loved that G1 Starscream segment though.
So which Transformers series was your favorite? Got a favorite Bot or Con? Looking forward to Transformers One?
Personally I hope Trigger does a Transformers anime. I mean they did a tribute for Gridman years ago.
https://youtu.be/ETpejXR_Bm8
And we got 2 anime series out of it.
SSSS Grdiman.

And hopefully they release the movie stateside soon. But I'll take a Trigger Transformers instead. I'd love to see what they do for their Starscream. ^_^

Looking for a laptop.
General | Posted a year agoSo I got a hand me down Pavillion laptop from a relative a few months ago. But i haven't used it till recently because I am not very computer savvy and I get by just fine with my Amazon tablet for my entertainment needs at work. After I finally caved in and decided to take it to work I found that having a much larger screen is helpful for my poor eyes, not to mention some of my apps on the laptop aren't blocked by the VPN on the work wifi. Odd I can watch Disney but not Hulu or Crunchyroll. Sure it's a pain to lug the large screen and it's power cord but it beats having to strain squinting at the tablet. Plus it makes me look like I'm working instead of watching shows.
After my coworker told me that since I have an Amazon Prime account I get free games each month. Though for some I have to get through things like Epic or GOG to play them. So for the last few weeks I've been expanding my game library as well as reinstalling Steam to play games. Sadly the laptop can't handle 3d heavy games but runs 2d ones with little problem. I was testing to see what games work the other night, a free copy of Borderlands 2 via Amazon Prime, and it killed my laptop. Restarted, lost all my previously installed data, can't even sign into my profile to save anything. Attempted to reset to factory settings, it quit halfway through. So I take it to Best Buy to see if the Geek Squad can help and I find out the laptop I was given is well over ten years old and was on its last legs. Never would have known. Would have tried to repair it for $150 but decided to instead try to get something newer.
I was tempted to get these I saw on Amazon that were as cheap as $350 but the Geek warned me about those cheap Chinese brands since they get alot of those turned in. I was recommended in getting an Asus or HP or an Alienware if I had money to burn, I don't have much. I was saving to get a Steamdeck but now I may have to get a laptop instead. Unless if I can use the deck as a mini pc and run programs like Windows 11.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to get and what to avoid. I mostly just want it to play Steam and maybe watch Amazon on it.

Gonna be busy breaking Gundams
General | Posted a year agoSo Gundam Breaker 4 came out recently and I am happy to say it is a vast improvement over New Gundam Breaker and it follows more after Gundam Breaker 3.
https://youtu.be/lC3DugB1_iY
They seemed to have nerfed the special attacks to a stackable powerbar similar to fighting games so I can't spam beam cannons and bits like I used to, and option weapons have a cool down. Still doesn't stop me from cheesing multiple missile launcher pods and juggling enemies with a Macross Missile Swarm.
I was breezing through at first with a missile and gatling build but switched to a strong melee build after seeing that it works better on breaking the big bosses. My only complaint is that you have to finish chapter 2 before you can start using your spare parts to level up the parts you want and to unlock other perks like the super mode and other unlock ables like more option parts from missile pods to giant swords.
But so far I am loving it. I am currently using a custom build I call Killer Rabbit.
https://youtu.be/Y6ud516j1BE
Once I unlock the Super Fumina and Mobile Doll May kits I hope to design an Alice style suit or at least base one off my Acerby sisters.
I really wish I was as creative as others such as the one who made the Tallgoose.

To the giant enemy crab.
https://youtu.be/LrP7CovcL_A
Hopefully it doesn't take me too long to grind through the story and dlc to get the parts I want. I'm just happy that we finally get a good Gundam game officially released stateside and I didn't have to go through Playasia to get an import copy.
So if anyone is getting this game, show off your custom builds or try and take me on online in the bounty hunter mode. I want to see who can survive my Killer Rabbit. ^_^

Just Saw Alien: Romulus
General | Posted a year agoTesting out my laptop and new table I got for it at the mall today. Since I was there I decided to watch Alien: Romulus since I heard good things about it, and I'm glad I did.
Long story short, this is one of the better films, I'd rank it in the top 3 easily following the first 2 films. Lots of easter eggs and references to those films plus a reference or two from Prometheus and Covenant. Classic Xeno's galore including a cameo from the first one. Seems Ripley didn't do that good of a job. Plus a new morph that by far put the 'Newborn' from Resurrection to shame in creepiness. And one 'birth' that replaces the C-Section from Prometheus as the most nasty thing I've ever seen. I was so hooked watching the film I didn't forgot about the snacks and drinks I snuck in with me.
If you are a long time fan of the series including the first 2, I strongly suggest watching it.
And since we're on the subject of Xenomorphs, enjoy this fan animation made by the guy who did the Tie Fighter short film.

I am curious about Steam Decks part 2
General | Posted a year agoSomehow I made a journal and unintentionally clicked the tab to disable comments. Must be cause I'm still trying to get used to the hand me down laptop I recently got. Hope this works.
As I stated in my previous journal...
I recently got a hand me down laptop from a relative who upgraded to something newer, and I'm not one to turn down a freebie. Been downloading some games on Steam again and find it odd that some of my old strategy games don't work on it which is a bit disappointing. Heck, anything that pretty much uses 3d polygons runs slow as heck on it so I'm stuck with 2d games and visual novels which ain't too bad.
While I was going through my old collections to see what runs and what doesn't I noticed there was a section selling the Steam Deck Handhelds. I honestly wasn't interested in it since I already have 3 different Switches that I rarely even play these days but with some specific games on Steam in my wishlist I wouldn't mind playing them on the go. Would beat having to carry the laptop around everywhere.
I've been watching some YouTube videos where people have both praised and trashed the Steam Deck and their alternatives. I just want to hear what you all have to say about it if you manage to own one. I'm not that computer savvy so apart from prices and drive space everything else is over my head. I really want to know how the Steam Deck would play a heavily mouse reliant game like an RTS game like various Warhammer 40K titles or Baldurs Gate and such

Happy 4th with Sabaton and Gundam
General | Posted a year agoAnd a few other shows. Stumbled across Sabaton a few years ago and loved most of their songs and videos. Haven't enjoyed awesome historical music since Aces High.
Starting with the first that caught my eye is Red Baron.
https://youtu.be/hbdFBYtHXWk
Then Steel Commanders
https://youtu.be/GW1RSkNogeE
And Stormtroopers
https://youtu.be/bq3Y6pWTVNg
Jumping from Gundam into Yamato is one of my faves, Metal Machine.
https://youtu.be/2wEvTjU3mik
Followed by Midway.
https://youtu.be/znPU0mqQrKY
And into the fanservice anime with Ghost Division.
https://youtu.be/esor2FpmJTM
Blood of Bannockburn
https://youtu.be/8-CiRD4il5w
And finally Night Witches.
https://youtu.be/yu0EgDwr67s
Hope you have a safe 4th. Can't launch fireworks where I am at because of heavy rains so I'll just be listening to my amv playlist while putting together Gunpla.

So I went to my first anime convention...
General | Posted a year agoI do not see myself going to another one anytime soon. Not that I didn't enjoy myself, but I don't think I can afford another day at one. It was like a giant nerdy flea market but with Disneyworld prices.
Took my friend Skrappy since he had his birthday the day before, he turned 41, and he never been to an anime convention before either so I paid for his pass as well. Showed up early the first day to get a good parking spot and beat the crowds, but got beat by the crowds and still ended up a distance away and had to wait outside for a half hour when it was hot and humid from all the rain prior.
But after that and check in we circled the booths to check out everything there was to offer. Turned a corner and ran into the ass of a massive Cart Titan statue. Took some pictures of some anime cars, didn't want to bother the cosplayers so I didn't take any of them, but there was alot, and luckily I could figure out who most of the characters were than find some I didn't have a clue about. Even saw a few furries in full body fursuits. I felt sorry for them for having to deal with the heat.
Was a bit disappointed with the 'maid cafe' experience. Paid $20 to have some cute cosplay girl serve us a tiny coffee and do a little dance. Then again the last time I paid for a drink and dance it cost alot more and there was nudity involved.
I had plans to not buy much. I get enough every month via my Otakubox so I barely have any shelf space or wall space for any more figures and posters. $400 later and I had two huge bags with anime figurines and mecha musume model kits. I couldn't help it, they had a BOGO sale. ^_^;
I may show off pictures of my stuff later once I sort them out. Got alot of bunnygirl stuff, that much is certain.
Scrappy though, he's crazy. He bought a huge $300 FF7 Cloud Buster sword that is larger than me! He had the largest grin on his face when he showed it to me. I couldn't even lift the damned thing over my head. He says he's gonna have fun next Halloween with it.
Called it quits early the first day, only lasted about 3 hours before I got too exhausted. Ran out of fluids and the fountain water tasted warm and funny and the food and drinks were very expensive. $5 for a small Gatorade, $15 for a single cheeseburger.
So we went home, rested up and sorted out my figurines. Slept in the next day and showed up around noon. No lines though we did park out the outskirts. Lots more cosplayers, and still hotter than heck. Did more shopping, got more mecha musume model kits again...Scrappy entered a game tournament and swiftly got eliminated in the first Grand Prix of Mario Kart 8, though they let him stay around to serve as an extra racer for the kids since only 7 entered so he got to enjoy beating up of some kids. I got to play some Japanese arcade games they brought over, one of which was a Puzzle and Dragons VS touch screen game. Had no idea what I was doing but had fun. Stuck around for twice as long but only because Skrappy was playing in the tournament.
I only have one thing I was disappointed in. Out of all the figurines they had to offer, couldn't find any Konosuba ones at all. Sure they had shirts and posters and hug pillows and stuff, but no figurines of Megumin or Yunyun. Everything else from One Piece to Jojo you could find but nothing involving Konosuba.
All in all, quite liked my first convention. Might be a while before I do another though. Don't think I can afford it being a yearly thing. I'm just glad I wasn't the oldest person there in attendance. ^_^;

Stumbled across this cute short animation and thought it needed more exposure. Has a cute manticore named Maulie and I think that's cute.
Looking forward to doing my first convention this weekend. Hope the rain doesn't interfere too much.

Will be attending my first Convention.
General | Posted a year agoIt took a lot of persuasion from my coworker who is a big anime fan to convince me but I gave in and decided to attend an Anime/Cosplay convention called Bold Matsuri that is being held nearby. I'll be tagging along with her and taking my hun Scrappy as his birthday happens just before the con. Had to take two days off so I will be holding off on buying anymore kits to save up for stuff.
Already got the tickets for the weekend. Trying to save for spending money. Aside from that, I have no idea what to expect. Its my co-workers first con too so we have no idea what we should expect. But after trying to look up videos on YT for hints I stumbled across this gem.

I hope I encounter Bane Armstrong/Buff Nezuko/Dora the Destroyer at the con. I think he puts Man Faye to shame. ^_^
So are there any con goers who have any tips on what and what not to do before we go?

I don't know what is more strange. The fact that I just now found this song after its been out for 2 years. Or that there were so many Tremors Movies and even a TV show. Just went out and bought them on Amazon just a moment ago.
Only saw the first 4 films throughout my life, second one is still my favorite though the first is also a classic. Need to watch the rest some day.
This gun nut was always my favorite character, like Ash Williams was to Evil Dead/Army Of Darkness.
Graboids! ^_^

Lets say you won the lotto.
General | Posted a year agoI kinda did, but only got $21 out of the $10 I put in for it. Mom wasted $50 trying for the Powerball and didn't get squat for it. Later this week she's gonna go down to Tampa and lose more money on slots at the Hard Rock. Personally I prefer Blackjack but haven't played since I lost $100 on the cruise ship years ago.
But anyways my sis asked what would I have spent my winnings if I won. Didn't have to the billion. I'd be happy with a single million, back half a million I can budget wisely. But if I won, first thing is I wouldn't tell a soul. I want to spend some on taking care of dad but he's told me he's so messed up that it'd be a waste to spend anything on him. Just as long as I can keep him comfortable and clean and keep him out of a nursing home. Though he told me if I could hire some 'maids' to clean him up, make sure they have some huge tits. ^_^; "Just because I can't feel anything doesn't mean I can't enjoy the view!" My pops is a dirty old man, I hope he lasts a bit longer.
For mom I'd probably sign her up for one of those elderly cruise ship deals where they spend 6 months out at sea. I heard it was a better and cheaper alternative to a nursing home. Some of my coworkers did that for their folks, at least till Covid hit. Hopefully its safe now, though I gotta make sure moms cruise avoids Haiti as much as possible.
For myself? Something simple. Mainly repair the home, update the pipes and wiring. Don't ever plan on selling it, no matter how many people call for it. For the longest time I always wanted to try out loving in an RV and just go on a road trip. No place in particular in mind, any place will do, though probably avoiding big cities and snow as much as I can. But some are crazy expensive and I would hate to learn how to drive something the size of a bus everywhere. But then I saw this.

Something like that would be the perfect size for me. If I won a small or decent jackpot, I would like that.
Heh, if I won a big one though? I would lease out this small store near where I live and turn it into a Gundam hobby store. Model kits, action figures, DVDs and Blu-rays, other stuff like mecha musume and art books. Hell, buy several Gundam Battle pods or arcade tables of the Gundam VS games and set up tournaments. I don't even care if I make a profit, though I probably will try to at least. Honestly I just shelf space to show off my collection and maybe get some folks in on the fandom.
So what about you? What would you do if you won the jackpot?
Edit: Forget the Gundam hobby store. Apparently there is a place near the gym I go to called Nakama Anime Bar. Its two store side by side each other actually. One is a little izayaka restaurant where they serve things like Ramune sodas, sake, ramen bowls, tempura and teriyaki, and 'jelly donuts' of various flavors while 2 TVs are streaming anime. The other part next door has a bar where you can order and have the stuff made and brought over from the restaurant part while you watch anime from 3 tvs. They also have several karaoke booths for rental. And a store up by the front where I buy my Gundam kits and hobby tools from them. I got some Pokemon figurines made out of crystal for a friend of mine there along with an Eevee model kit. Food is okay, Ramune is too expensive for how small it is, but I love the stuff they have there. I only go on weekdays so I don't know how busy it is and I haven't tried the karaoke yet.
But I think I would love to have an Otaku store where I would sell lots of anime and many stuff, maybe have a small restaurant, and instead of karaoke an arcade of Japanese games. If I could ever find some pachinko machines that would be awesome.

I finally completed the Impossible difficulty missions in Helldivers 2 and unlocked the hardest difficulty, Helldiver. Sadly I was only able to record 1 of the 3, both of those glitched out at the end but luckily gave us mission completion. That last minute at extraction was crazy and I'm honestly surprised we made it being short a person. Honestly I'm surprised I died so few times. The last mission we got wiped out entirely but at least completed our missions.
I can only imagine how crazy Helldivers difficulty will be.

Got an extra birthday treat
General | Posted a year agoMy hun and the AI artist he hires surprised me again with more art based off some ideas I had for a pirate themed TTRPG once I was done with my current DND campaign. Haven't finished it yet but what would you all think of a high seas adventure involving a sexy vixen and her crew while being chased down by a rabbit hired to take her down?

Early Birthday/Easter Treat
General | Posted a year agoMy friend did it again and got me some more AI art of my character for my birthday. But since it was near Easter he got a few other bunny girls to join in with the festivities. Since I can't upload AI stuff here I decided to provide a gallery link for those that want to see some beautiful bunny babes.

He'll divers 2 made me enjoy multiplayer again.
General | Posted a year agoAnd with randos no less. And lately I haven't had to worry about going solo save for the occasional low level mission to finish a simple daily order. Nearly every mission I start my spare spots get filled in before I make the drop. Many are usually higher levels than me but there are a few lower ranks and newbies that I try to assist. The game is still blotchy from time to time but not as often as other games like Gundam Battle Operation 2 and luckily the mission doesn't end if someone gets cut off for some reason.
But I haven't had so much fun in an online shooter since forever. Nearly everyone is helpful though there is the rare troll that team kills everyone. Still have a blast even when I get chunked by friendly artillery.
Whenever I'm not sneaking around in stealth armor and plinking at distant targets with the auto cannon I have been tearing up enemies with the new Exosuit.

Does anyone here use/recommend WorldAnvil?
General | Posted 2 years agoI was curious about it after seeing ads on it every time I watch DnD related videos on YouTube and decided to try out the free subscription. I'm tempted to use this discount code to get 51% off for an annual subscription but wonder if I even would get the chance to use it. Anyone here use it or have tried it before? Any other suggestions you would recommend instead?
I'm curious about funding some Kickstarters but...
General | Posted 2 years agoI have heard several horror stories about bad kickstarters in the past and hesitant especially since I fell for the Mighty No 9 scam with the preorder. The two I am interested in is this RPG book.

Theirs ends within a few days.
And a card game
https://www.kickstarter.com/project.....ame?ref=aa3v0e
Theirs ends in a few weeks.
Both already hit their goals so I'm hoping they are going to be made eventually. I wonder if I should pitch in now or buy it later if they plan on releasing them commercially.
Has anyone funded a Kickstarter in the past and would you recommend that I take part or no?

R.I.P. Akira Toriyama.
General | Posted 2 years agoJeeze. This just hits hard. I was looking forward to the new Dragon Ball series and Sandland game too. The world is a bleaker place without a man of such talent.

General | Posted 2 years agoThis just keeps getting disappointing. First Sony kills Funimation, now WB is shutting down Rooster Teeth? I never even knew WB owned them, though that does explain the RWBY/Justice League films, that came out of nowhere.
I honestly am surprised they were still around though. Didn't know RWBY was on their 9th volume. I dropped off after the second season after Monty Oum died. I only know of new characters after seeing r34 of them, which btw Blake has one hot milf of a mom. Love those catgirls. And now I find out there was an anime as well?
I don't even know if Red Vs Blue was still going on. I stopped after the Chorus trilogy which was season 11-13. Missed out on a whole extra trilogy after that! Thankfully I got it on blu ray for $10.
Didn't even watch Genlock. Regret watching Lazer Team.
The only thing I think that is related to Rooster Teeth that I was listening to was Tales from the Stinky Dragon animations of their DnD adventures, which I will admit I enjoy.
Heard there was alot of controversy within, didn't pay attention, too busy with other stuff. But I am going to miss those early adventures of Caboose and all his friends. And all those Immersion episodes like the Pac Man and Mario Kart episode.
https://youtu.be/Ke9wtbzGjCI
Still my favorite scene from the series.
So long you crazies, you gave me lots of laughs in the past.
I hope Death Battle survives at least.

That's what you get you buggy motherfucker!!!
Seriously, mortar strikes, artillery, grenade launchers and even a rocket up the ass and nothing. But a special delivery from the Fist of Freedom, take it all you bug bitch!!
I was a very happy bunny today. ^_^
Also, having a single squad mate was less chaotic than having 3 rookies tag along.
https://youtu.be/456JGoargt4
Finally unlocked mortar sentry and the laser guard dog, makes things a bit easier solo. Still don't have enough armor penetration weapons to take on the bots again...those bots...they're something else. O_o

Helldivers 2 is hard for solo players.
General | Posted 2 years agoBut not impossible.
https://youtu.be/rUaz-3xLoc0
First of 2 Medium difficulties. Should have been easier when I leveled up enough to unlock the Guard Dog drone. Oh it does not help much. I should have gotten the laser one, this guy goes through ammo like crazy. Was hoping someone would come in to assist but no one did and ended up having to solo the mission. Took forever.
https://youtu.be/xy8TfBg9XfU
The second the medium missions I needed to do to unlock the next difficulty and my first hunts against Chargers. These bastards are hard to kill. Anti material rifles, grenade launchers, freaking airstrikes. They are a challenge, especially since no one came to assist this time either! The Guard Dog drone helped some but once he's out of ammo he's dead weight. But somehow managed to finish it.
This will be my last Helldiver vid for a while until I do something stupid or epic. I need to grind alot of the trivial and easy missions to get more gear and all of those are pretty much easy as pie. But I would rather do multiple easy missions that take little over 10 minutes over busting my butt on a medium that takes nearly half an hour. At least with the easier missions my chances of survival are greater.
Don't wanna end up like these folks.

Having a hellofalotta fun with Helldivers 2.
General | Posted 2 years agoThat is if I can ever get on to play. Almost every time the servers are at capacity and I have to wait to play. So far nothing longer than 5 minutes but it may get longer on weekends and holidays.
https://youtu.be/0mmI2jYPV1I
Though I wish more people played at night. Even with cross play on nobody seemed to join me when I attempted an 'Easy' mission and somehow managed to survive it solo, though it is still a challenge in some places.

Traded a frozen wasteland for a hellish one but at least some help joined. I really liked using the artillery in this mission. ^_^ Did not know I could use mini nukes in it though.

Here's some footage of some others and their antics. I don't know if I'll ever end up sharing my fails, but who knows.
But seriously folks, get this game. I need more meatshields, erm I mean allies to take on harder missions with.

Trading bugs for bots, and Tank Police
General | Posted 2 years agoGoodness, Helldivers 2 is Hella hard if you don't know what to do.
https://youtu.be/D7kaH0uvtgs
After 3 failed attempts to defend colonists from invading robot hordes and their seemingly invincible dropships that they kept calling in every 30 seconds I had to look up how to take them down. Turns out if you use an anti tank rocket or rail gun to their side engines you can knock them out along with any troops under them. Once my team mates found out after watching me, we finally survived a mission.
Seriously, as frustrating as it is, I love this game. Part Starship Troopers, part Terminator Future War, all fun. Well, when the servers aren't flooded. Had to wait half an hour last night to play.
And now the entertainment for tonight. Enjoy some Tank Police. I hate to say I never actually watched these before, all I know was that the catgirls had a cameo in the Ghost in the Shell manga and that was it. And for some reason the hero tank looks alot like the Metal Slug.
