Unstoppable
General | Posted 15 years agoI was surprised that was this a pretty good film. Little hammy in some places. Characters aren't ground breaking. But all in all it was pretty good. I they at least made an attempt at why all the train's safety features didn't stop it even if they were skewed. But yeah I recommend 100%!

1. JUMS, our personnel program for JROTC magically deleted its database. So I've been re-updating the 3 month old back-up and trying to track down everyone's ranks, awards, and positions.
2. English teacher accidentily deleted my english project out of her email.
3. Moar Drumline drama between the close-minded, holier-then-thou, homo-phobic, I'm always right, Bottom base player involving senior night tradition.
4. All 6 of my highscores on scififur.net were beat :(

[22:19] <MatthiasRat> Greetings!
[22:20] <Kurai> hello!
01[22:20] <@Dusty33> alright 3/4
01[22:20] <@Dusty33> now for the other guy
01[22:20] <@Dusty33> who is currently idle :(
01[22:21] <@Dusty33> :-/
01[22:21] <@Dusty33> well
01[22:21] <@Dusty33> I guess we wait for 9 minutes
[22:21] <MatthiasRat> Well, we could get started and just have him come in when he gets here.
01[22:22] <@Dusty33> Right. Now were going to have a post order so we don't end up posting over each other
[22:22] <Kurai> duzn't matter...
01[22:22] <@Dusty33> Subito you know the basics of rping right?
[22:22] <Kurai> lolz nope
01[22:22] <@Dusty33> Right, basically you post the next part of the story from your character's PoV
01[22:23] <@Dusty33> so why don't I post, then Matthias, then you?
01[22:23] <@Dusty33> so you get the idea....
[22:23] <Kurai> kay, i think i get it....
01[22:23] <@Dusty33> Alright lets get started. Let me type up my post.....
[22:24] <MatthiasRat> Try to remember what your character would do in the situations you have before you. Make it authentic and sensible. We may be weres, but we are mortal.
01[22:28] <@Dusty33> I stood looking into the briefing room through the two way mirror. Inside, sitting in several non-descript waiting room type chairs, sat the four people who would soon become the newest combat team of Department Null. 'Hard to believe not that long ago I was the one sitting there scared out of my mind' I thought to myself.
[22:32] <MatthiasRat> Chris Mattiaz, a short scrawny man, sat calmly in the waiting room, glancing occasionally at the mirror and what he knew had to lay beyond it. The entire experience being brought here was a little strange, but the possibilities left him rather excited. A new way to serve both his country and his kind. He glanced at the others in the room and seeing that nothing was to be done, said, "I'm Spc Chris Mattiaz. How about you all?"
01[22:34] <@Dusty33> ((for reference I'm taking over USBofDoom's char since he can't be here. He told me I should :( ))
[22:37] <Kurai> Kurai sat staring at his hands, lost in thought. thinking about how far he'd come, from scrounging out an existance on the streets to serving his country the only so few can. His train of thought was interrupted when Chris Mattiaz, broke the ice. "I'm Kurai nice to meet ya" holding out a hand to shake
01[22:45] <@Dusty33> Mike Astley sat in his chair comptemplating his reflection in the mirror, wondering wether or not anyone was watching them through it. 'I've been watching too much NCIS' he mused to himself, 'I keep expecting someone to come in the door with a warrant waiting to interrogate me.' His idle musings were interrupted with Chris Mattiaz's attempt at conversation and Kurai's response. "Well my name is Mike. Pleased to meet you two," he responded. His view then shifted too the forth person in the room. A rather dour looking man wearing a marine combat uniform instead of the ACU's of everyone else. "Hey my name's Mike, how are you doing?" Mike asked, trying to emulate Chris's outwardness. The man's head slowly turned till he was looking Mike in the face. "I've been better," he said in a low, slow, voice with a hint of a slavic accent, he then returned his gaze to the section of the wall that had captivated him before. 'Not the friendliest person' Mike thought nervously as he leaned back in his chair.....
06[22:47] * MatthiasRat gives Kurai a shake, and then to Mike as well. "Good to meet you both. Where did you serve? I took two tours in Iraw, but I've been back Stateside the last couple of years."
[22:49] <Kurai> *shakes Chris' hand then Mike's* "Um, i've done a few assignments here and there, not much, just eliminating a few high priority targets, but i'm really not sure if i should say more im sorry heh, and what about you Mike?
01[22:57] <@Dusty33> ((I'm going to refer to my character in the first person and Mike in the Third for future reference)) I watched the group begin thier first interactions carefully. Group dynamics could spell success or doom for this whole venture. The first person to show initiative was the last person I expected, the small one. Paging through the folder in my hand I pulled up his personnell file. 'A rat? Hmm. Never served with one of those before' I thought too myself. I looked back up just in time to see Chris and Subito shake hands. Flipping back through the papers I find his file. Reading it I was surprised to see he was already doing Black-Ops assignments but I was floored when I saw his age, sixteen. 'What the hell is he doing here? He's not even out of highschool yet!'~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Well I did a tour in afganistan, then Iraq, I've been stationed at Fort Campbell until the CIA brought me here, nothing special. What did you mean eliminating targets? How old are you anyway?" Mike asked.
01[22:57] <@Dusty33> ((woo! Double character post))
[22:59] <MatthiasRat> (( Dusty, did you have more after 'one of those before'? If you did, it was cut off.))
01[23:00] <@Dusty33> ((scroll down O_o there is alot more))
[23:00] <MatthiasRat> ((You'll need to repost it. It was cut off for me))
01[23:01] <@Dusty33> ((I can't copy and paste it >.< give me a sec))
01[23:05] <@Dusty33> 'A rat? Never served with one of those before' I thought to myself. I lookd up again just in time to see Chris and Subito shake hands and start talking. Flipping through the folder again I found Subito's file. Reading through it I was surprised to see he was already doing Black-Ops work but even more shocked when I saw he was only 16. 'What the hell is he even doing here? He's not even out of
01[23:05] <@Dusty33> highschool yet!'
01[23:06] <@Dusty33> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Well I did I tour in Afganistan, then Iraq, but I was recently posted with the 101st at Fort Campbell until the CIA brought me here, so I'm nothing special. What did you mean by taking our targets? How old are you anyway? You look young," Mike asked.
01[23:07] <@Dusty33> ((there is a post limit. Did you see anything about the fourth guy in my first message from Mike's PoV?
[23:07] <Kurai> ((no))
[23:07] <MatthiasRat> (( Nope ))
01[23:07] <@Dusty33> ((crap thats not good.))
01[23:08] <@Dusty33> ((what's the last thing you guy's see on that post?))
[23:08] <MatthiasRat> (( "Well my name is Mike. Pleased to meet you two," he respon ))
01[23:08] <@Dusty33> ((I'll repost the second part then))
03[23:09] * Retrieving #SWAT modes...
[23:09] <MatthiasRat> (( Break up your posts, just leav eus a MOre sign so we know to wait. ))
01[23:11] <@Dusty33> "Well my name is Mike, Pleased too meet you two," he responded. Mike's view then shifted from Chris and Subito to the fourth man in the room. A large hispanic looking man dressed in Marine fatigues instead of the Army ACU's like the others. "Hey I'm Mike,
[23:14] <MatthiasRat> (( Stopped at: Army ACU's like the others. "Hey I'm Mike, ))
01[23:16] <@Dusty33> " he said, trying to bring the man into the conversation. The marine's eyes shifted from the point in the wall that they were previously locked on and towards Mike. "My name is Oso," he said in a low quiet voice before slowly shifting his gaze back to the same section of wall that captivated him before. 'Well. He'll warm up, I hope' Mike thought to himself.
01[23:16] <@Dusty33> ((sorry about that. I'll have to be careful next time.))
[23:16] <MatthiasRat> (( No worries! We'll get it sorted out in time! ))
[23:16] <Kurai> ((tis a great learning experience!))
[23:17] <MatthiasRat> Chris nods at Mike's comment about Kurai's age, noting Oso out of the corner of one eye. "Yes, how old are you, Kurai? And how'd you come by your name? Is that a last name?"
[23:21] <Kurai> "heh, im 16, and i never really had family to be with, it was just me on the streets, and when you're alone like that, things happen with your emotions. So i choose a new name for myself that seemed to fit the situation, Subito Kurai, meaning suddenly dark. but you can call me Kurai
01[23:25] <@Dusty33> Mike glanced towards Chris, his face spelling out his thoughts. "Figures. These damn spooks are all alike," the sudden outburst from Oso surprised him almost as much as Kurai's revelation about his age. ~~~~~~~~ I hold down the butterflies in my stomach as I watch the shocked looks on the others faces. No doubt they just realized Kurai's age.
[23:30] <MatthiasRat> Chris looks Kurai up and down, grimaces, then shrugs, "I wasn't even thinking about the Army at that age. But here we are. If you're man enough to carry a gun and stand with your brothers on the battlefield, I'll call you my brother soldier too. What do you say, Mike?"
[23:33] <Kurai> *chuckling* "Well i think it shouldn't matter, let the rifle speak for itself. But is this a problem Mike? I hope not." He watched Mike mull things over in his mind for a bit.
01[23:38] <@Dusty33> "Hmph. I hope I don't have to listen to all this poetic Bullsh*t all through training," Oso snorted. Mike answered hesitantly, "I don't like the idea, but if you got my back I have yours, and Oso what's your problem? None of us did anything to you." Oso shifted, "My problem is that we're all basically stuck here with only one way out and thats to fight for this agency against our own kind!" ~
01[23:41] <@Dusty33> "Did you all not get that part of the brochure? Most of our missions are to subdue other Were's that goverment doesn't like! There's a special place in hell for the stuff this agency does," Oso shouted jumping too his feet.~~~~~ My attention was quickly caught but the sudden escalation from Oso. Moving quickly I throw the door open. "AT EASE MARINE!" I order in my painfully practiced noncom
01[23:41] <@Dusty33> voice.
06[23:44] * MatthiasRat jumps to attention as soon as the door bursts open.
[23:47] <Kurai> Kurai follows suit expecting the worst for Oso's actions.
01[23:50] <@Dusty33> Oso stood his ground even as the others snapped to attention. "I said AT EASE!" I growled. Oso glared for a second before clasping his hands behind his back in the position of at ease. "Right then, I am Master Sargent Carey, your new team leader. I have been with department Null for 3 years and I'm here to make this team one of the best to ever come through our Training Program," I said.
01[23:50] <@Dusty33> ~~
01[23:52] <@Dusty33> "Despite what you MAY have heard," I continued while looking pointedly at Oso, "Our mission is to protect our kind and stop those who would destroy or exploit us. All the Goverment asks for in return is our help in National Security matters and high stakes operations. Any one have questions about that?"
[23:58] <MatthiasRat> Chris looks at Master Sargent Carey and says, "Sir, will we have to kill any of our own kind?"
Session Time: Sun Oct 04 00:00:00 2009
01[00:01] <@Dusty33> I hesitated before answering, "If they threaten our secret or innocent lives then yes, they we may have to use deadly force against them. However we are not camo wearing G-men working to undermine anyone our goverment doesn't like as some would suggest," I respond once again glaring at Oso, "our missions are of the uptmost imporantance and secrecy.
[00:03] <Kurai> My heart sank a little, so we would have to after all. "Sir, what should happen if we are seen?"
01[00:05] <@Dusty33> "If our missions are carried out in a populated enviroment we most likely will not be using our alternate forms. If we ARE seen Department Null does have well trained situation teams for dealing with any possible leak. We all know how good spooks are at keeping something hidden."
01[00:05] <@Dusty33> ((I'm getting sleepy >_>))
[00:06] <MatthiasRat> (( I'm good for a little bit longer. I'd like to at least bring some closure to the scene if we could ))
[00:07] <Kurai> ((yah, we're pretty close))
[00:09] <MatthiasRat> Chris appears to be pondering this internally but only manages to ask, "Sir, what sort of training will we receive?"
01[00:13] <@Dusty33> "Standard Special Operations training and our own instructors will teach you how to best use your abilities. You will learn to use fire arms from all parts of the earth, the latest in information technology and communications, and above all how to work as a single entity, you are a team, and we will make sure you don't forget that. Now, you are to report to the barracks from here. ~
01[00:14] <@Dusty33> I suggest you get a good night's sleep. We're getting up nice early tomarrow," I finished. ~~~~~~~ Mike relaxing slightly as Carey finished the briefing. "Master Sargent if I may ask where are the barracks?" Mike asked.~~~~~~
01[00:15] <@Dusty33> "Straight out the hall from here and then follow the signs on the cieling. Dismissed!"
[00:16] <Kurai> I wasn't sure what to do at this point so i just snapped a qick solute and went on my way with the new "team"
[00:16] <MatthiasRat> Chris salutes the Master Sergeant and says, "Yes, Sir!" Before turning to follow the signs on the ceiling toward the Barracks, an uncertain feeling in his heart, but a hopeful one as he glanced at the others in his "team".
01[00:18] <@Dusty33> ((Military trivia time. You don't salute sargents :P))
[00:18] <Kurai> ((haha))
[00:19] <MatthiasRat> (( Oops! ))
[00:20] <MatthiasRat> (( Will remember that next time. ))
[00:20] <Kurai> ((haha, well i did say i didn't know what to do next :P))
01[00:20] <@Dusty33> ((np. I learnt that in JROTC. Sargent Major made it very clear :P))
01[00:20] <@Dusty33> ((so is that a wrap for tonight?))
[00:21] <MatthiasRat> (( I think so. We're all pretty tired I think. I certainly enjoyed the opening at least. ))
[00:22] <Kurai> ((heh, twas fun, a good learning experience ;D))
01[00:23] <@Dusty33> ((alright then. I'll save the log__
01[00:23] <@Dusty33> ((good playing! Till next time. Also you get bonus points if you find what Oso translates too :P))
01[00:24] <@Dusty33> ((if I have the spelling right :P
[00:24] <MatthiasRat> (( Indeed! I'm very much looking forward to our next session! Speaking of which, when will that be? ))
01[00:24] <@Dusty33> ((not sure....))
01[00:24] <@Dusty33> ((we can work that out later :P))
[00:25] <Kurai> ((mkay, see ya!))
01[00:25] <@Dusty33> ((cya))
[00:25] <MatthiasRat> (( Well, this time slot worked for me, just so you know! ))
[00:25] <MatthiasRat> (( Good Night all! See you next time! ))
01[00:25] <@Dusty33> ((Hey Matthias wait till you get to chapter 7 of prehistoric :P))
01[00:25] <@Dusty33> ((you'll like it))
[00:27] <MatthiasRat> (( Oooh, I'm looking forward to it! I may be able to read another chapter or two tomorrow. ))
[00:27] <MatthiasRat> (( For now, I'm definitel going to bed. Good Night all! ))

Good Night all! ))
01[00:27] <@Dusty33> ((night!))

General | Posted 16 years agoHaven't heard anything more on the rp? Anyone still interested out there?
SWAT RP modification!
General | Posted 16 years agoGood news everyone! We have several people interested in the role play and I am already getting character sheets!
To make a more reliable announcement about a change however, I have elected to post a new journal.
Instead of the roleplay starting on a mission it will instead start with our first meeting together at the Department Null facility! This will allow for better character developement and some good dynamics before we enter the action phase :)
Kudos for the intrest!

SWAT Roleplay
General | Posted 16 years agoWell someone suggested I try this. Basically I'm wanting to get together either a IRC or IM roleplay so I figured the best way to broadcast this would be over a FA journal :) No previous RP expirence required we'll take care of you as long as your willing to learn :D
If your interested send me a note or IM me on one of my messengers with a character profile :)

Georgia, Sherman's March to the Sea 1865
The bloodcurdling rebel yells echoed behind Private first class Smith. His scavenging group had been ambushed at the plantation he didn't know where the others were. Probably dead. He was running for his life. Cracks of musket shots behind him told him life was at a premium right now. Wheres the damn road! He thinks frantically. He should have reached it minutes ago.
Then he saw the outline of a stone wall. He whooped and sprinted. He was going to make it! Then his leg gave out form under him as a red hot bullet buried its self in to his calf. He collapsed against the wall so close to safety. He turned around to see rebel cavalry whooping and shooting off pistol shots in the air. "Lets hang him!" said one.
"No lets shoot him full of holes and let him bleed," says another. They were interrupted by a growl. The horses raises up on there hind legs spilling there riders onto the ground and took off. "What the hell spooked them!?" yells one of the rebels. Then they saw it. A 7 foot tall creature. Its form outlined by the moon. The men all yell as it lunges digging its claws into ones throat. Smith could see it was a Wolf or at least one that stood on two legs. The bullets had no effect as it flung with its claws catching one soldier in the face.
The last soldiers ran into the woods after there horses. The creature turned to face Smith. He knew he was going to die. Then he saw a tattered blue shirt hanging from the creature. A uniform. The creature watches him for a second then sprints off into the woods. Behind him Smith heard horses. "Smith!? Barny!? Any of you here!?" shouts the company commander. "My god smith what happened here?" he asks as he sees the two dead bodies.
"Sir I don't think you'll believe me," he mutters.
Role Play, present day.
Ever since the Civil War the Government has known and hidden the existence of Were-creatures. Department Null, a sub section of the CIA composed of mostly Were-creatures was created during the Kennedy administration to control the growing population of Lycenes. Thier main job is to control the Were population through out the world. Taking out those who could bring the public eye to your existence. However on certain rare occasions you are selected to go on high risk missions too dangerous for normal Special Operations.
You are the newest squad to be created. All of your were trained in the equivilent of Special Ops training blended with how to intergrate your special forms into the picture. You are the best and brightest of your class and you will not fail. Animeity is your ally. If needed other branchs of the goverment will take responsability for your deeds. As far as the world is concerned outside of your family no one knows you exist.
Your first mission is a crisis that can only be handled by a Lycene squad. The new US secratary of State was abducted after a firefight during a tour of Afganistan's southern province. The terrorists have posted demands on his life and threaten to shoot him if they are not me in three days. That was two days ago. The terrorist camp was located in the Afgan/pakagani border mountains. The area is honeycombed with caves and the risk to great for a SEAL or Delta Squad team to be sent in as the first signs of the trouble the Ambassador will be shot. Now its your job. Report for full briefing at 0600. Time is critical.

Karama is a B*tch isn't it?
General | Posted 16 years agoSo I was doing the color guard for our homecoming football game. We march out on the build and band follows us out to play the national anthem. The problem is the other team simply wouldn't get off the field. Even when we were at present arms and the band was playing they were STILL throwing passes around until a coach begrudgingly tells them to stop.
Afterwards we do a right wheel and head to march off out of the endzone. They didn't even bother stopping and kept running plays into the same end zone we were marching through.
What did this extra practice at the cost of polite points get them? A loss of 64-0. Thats right we beat them 64 points in a shutout.

Rampage!
General | Posted 16 years agoSo today for our first Varsity Academic Team match we were playing at a small school up north. The first thing we notice walking into the school in the banners showing each grades KATs scores. (Kentucky standardized tests to measure a schools "progress"). Now we have these in our school too and these are all in the high 90's approaching 100 which is the highest you can get. However in this school they were litterally in the 40's and 50's meaning there school is FAILING.
Shrugging it off we head to there library for the match which we promplty win 14 to 4. Apparently at this school they teach that puerto rico is in the mediterrainian and Da Vinci invented the railroad....
Honestly how can a school be THAT bad? Its mind boggling to me! Then again this school was the size of an apartment building and housed the middle school as well. No need for a PA system since you could shout down the hallway to the other middle school! Maybe the lack of a Gym is why there academic team fails so bad....
Anyway go BGHS! First victory of the year!

Who needs a hug?
General | Posted 16 years agoThe title of my journal comes from a guy in JROTC. You see they are required by law to let anyone join JROTC regardless of mental handy caps so we DO get Special Ed. cadets. (Honestly I think thats of dubious morality. Some of them most likely didn't even make the choice and I HAVE to wonder why there parents would sign them up for the class.)
Anyway as S-1 on our first uniform day I worked with our S-4 to make inspect each cadet and update thier records as needed. We got it worked out so that during each class period the cadets came in by platoon by squad and I updated/added thier info into the computer and made sure they had all the ribbons/awards they need. If they needed something I told them what they needed and they headed over to the S-4 to pick them up.
Well the special ed squad (collectively known as the fireteam) are up next and I was reasonably suprised that most of them knew there home adress and even had some JROTC extra-credit in the system, stuff like military ball and can food drives. Then along came Mister Hugs. I look at his name then bring up his page and ask if he knows his home adress. He responds with a sort of out of it grin and by saying, "Who needs a hug?"
I personally have never dealt with him before and I was slightly freaked out. He then says, "You need a hug!" As I try to convince him I was not in need a hug I shoot a glance over to the S-4 and Sargent Major pleading for help. Sargent Major tells Gene to go and guard the Major's white board and bails me out of a pontientally awkward scenario.
Other then Mister Hugs the first uniform day went quite well minus the usual JUMS errors. For some reason bravo first platoon and bravo second platoon are on different ends of the list. We had good cadets, average cadets, and suprisingly few bad cadets. We also had one company commander who forgot which way the belts go for boys and girls so the entire company had their belts on wrong. (Major and Sargent Major had fun with that).
Also watch our band video!

General | Posted 16 years agoJust to get it out of the way yes prehistoric part 8 is DONE! Its just being proof read right now to take care of those ever present issues like missing words. What are friends for eh?
Anywho I've been extreme busy lately with school, band, life, and fixing the mistakes left from last year!
What really gets me steamed currently is the fact that I got carded at the movie theater. I cannot get in to see Inglorius Basterds OR District 9 due to the local theater getting its ass chewed out for letting people under age in to see Bruno. Basically since I'm 16 I need a parent to come in and buy my ticket. BUT they can't just buy it and leave. They have to buy a ticket as well and come with you into the theater. Complete BULLSHIT if you ask me. Really it sounds like a freaking scam.
I didn't even realize the ratings were LAW. Parents, if you kid lies about what movie they saw spank them, ground them, and move on! Oh wait, the goverment has to fix your problems too.... After all its not little Johny's fualt for lying too you its the big bad movie makers for making a movie he shouldn't see! GRR!
*ahem*
In other news my job in JRTOC as S-1 so far is fixing last year's S-1's mistakes. For example the entire battalion staff position roster was missing from the JUMS personnel system. Way to lose a class period there! Also SNAFU was the actual papers that each cadet signs. First off the folder wasn't in alphabetical order. Do you know how much time it took me to arrange 100 names into alphabetical order? A LONG TIME. Next year's S-1 (which will probably be me) better be happy. On related note this is a general public service annoucement:Don't sign your name in crown/highlighter/marker/sharpie.
But cheering me up is the fact in band we're doing the Thriller dance to the Thriller song. It looks quite nice even if we ripped it right off MSU. >_>

Well cats out of the bag....
General | Posted 16 years agoMy dad's being redeployed to Iraq this January. The writing was one the wall with the amount of training him and his unit had been through lately but we just now found out.
I'll be heading down to Louisaina this october to spend some time with him and my little brothers (there's a huge age gap in my familiy xD I'm 16 they are 6 and 4 respectively and I have a older brother who is 24). But as far as that goes I'd much rather see him to Iraq then afganistan. I can also take comfort in the fact that he's the commander of the Military Intel company of his brigades special troops battalion. I suppose its safer then engineer/EoD for one of the other companies xD.
Also as far as JROTC goes this year its the first day and already they expect miracles from me :) I'm supposed to get for the records the new company commanders, XOs, and First Sargents. Problem is only one company got the positions filled. And I'm supposed to have it ready by tomarrow.... Yep.

Is that you John Wayne? Is this me?
General | Posted 16 years agoWell we are a little over half way through band camp :D My only problem so far is a rather unplesant indvidual on the bottom bass drum. Basically the guy has been so sheltered he's sees the slightest deviation from "normal" as bad. He's a homophobe. And can't distinguish Emo's between goths and think they're both going to hell (well maybe I wouldn't mind the emos going.... but still!).
And to top it all off he asked who AC-DC was when we got the music for Back in Black..... I mean parents come on! I can understand keeping an eye on your kid but thats just SAD. Espically since his brother who's my age is a pretty cool dude, its like they didn't want the "baby" of the family to get anywhere without them.
He's got a lazey work ethic as well, he KNOWS there is a rule against hacking yet he still does it and when the instructor tells him to get down and do his push-ups. (Read 10 push-ups. Thats it). He will argue that because he can't do push ups he shouldn't HAVE to do them......
BLEH BLEH BLEH! I should try to find his email (if he has one) and send him some research material about what it means to 15 going on 16 in public high school. Because so far he's got a F in that class.
For those waiting on Prehistoric I will be posting soon! :)

Neggatory
General | Posted 16 years agoI will not be perpetuating/forwarding ANY memes. Good day.
Oh.... Thats not good?
General | Posted 16 years agoJust a update the reason you haven't heard from me is a lack of internet. I'll be making a resurgence the moment I get more then 5 minutes of interwebz :)
Its my life
General | Posted 16 years agoSo I'll take the fact the latest chapter in Prehistoric has 145 views as a good sign of support for the TF in my story xD I'll be getting a new chapter up REAL soon.
Also since its become sort of a trend to post actual JOURNALS about your days of life I think I'll give it a try!
Firstly I applied for a job at a new resturant in town called Baker Bros. I highly recommend the Sonoma Chicken sandwhich. Salsa, chipolte mayo, onions, peppers, cheese, lettuce, and grilled chicken on a whole weat roll make it the BEST deli sandwhich I've had in a LONG time.
Next I'm happy to report I will be making history (as far as I know) by being the first Junior on Battalion Staff. I'm going to be filling the S-1 role. (yep. The PR guy.) I guess getting that American Legion Scholars award helps. Then again the mysterious ways of Major (the 'bear' as we call him :P) prevent me from discerning WHY he choose me. But I'm not going to complain. I know Sargent Major probably wasn't behind. "MARCH FASTER CAREY!" "SLOW DOWN CAREY!" "STEP IT OUT CAREY!" "CAREY IF YOU DON'T LEARN HOW TO MARCH I'M GOING TO PUT YOU ON KP FOR THE ENTIRE BATTALION!" All this withen the thirty second march to mess during JCLC xD
One of the perks of being a Junior though is when band camp starts next week I get to pick on the wee-little freshmen all I want! I plan on doing my best Gunnery Sargent Hartman impression on the bass line. (Did I say bass line? I mean the gabastic pieces of amphian sh*t).
Anywho maybe this whole journal thing will take off? Who knows. G'night all.

Choose your own adeventure?
General | Posted 16 years agoWell I have started on the next chapter of prehistoric. Work on it was slow to begin due to time taken off to move into a new house.
However a friend of mine proposed and idea for the story that sounds interesting but I'm torn on wether or not to carry it out so I'll take input from you guys and decide!
Red Pill: SSG. Kerry wakes up talks to the dinos and the story goes the way I had originally planned.
Blue Pill: Those alternation nanites? Lets say they get a little over zealous (or are sabotaged. You never know :P) and transform ol' Kerry into a Dinosuar.
If anyone's out thier feel free to tell me which you'd rather see :P

Transformers 2 in review
General | Posted 16 years agoWell I had seen the Midnight premier of Tranformers 2 and I thought I'd post about it.
Overall the movies is great if you watch it for what it is. A summer action blockbuster. Loud noises, transforming robots, and Meagen Foxx. Don't think about, just sit back for the ride :P
SPOILER ALERT!
That said my analytical side got the better of me during the final scene and I picked apart the militaries involvement in the last battle.
I'm not being negative on the movie but they're just things most people wouldn't even notice:
They landed the tanks/cav vehicles on the beach. Thats the marines job and they even mentioned that it was marines landing but they were using Army tanks and were using army weapons/camo.
JDAMS are long range bomb that are used in prescion strikes on mostly stationary targets. Not the best for agile robots
The long range missle battery you see just before the Fallen uses his gravity shennigans is also army inventory.
Not sure how you would keep a fucking railgun mounted on a ship top-secret considering the entire crew know's its thier and its pretty obvious when it steams into port :P
The funny part is the DoD was officially partnered with the film and most of the soldiers were actually soldiers off duty. I wonder how they feel being called marines :P

NEEDS MOAR COWBELL!
General | Posted 16 years agoWell I'm off to yet another camp. This time for two weeks. Stephen Collins Foster music camp. So it should be a little less demanding then JCLC :P
As for all of you waiting on prehistoric I promise to have a chapter up after I get back 2 weeks from now. Writers block is crippling you know....
So kthxbai!

I have survived!
General | Posted 16 years agoTo the shock of myself and others I DID survive the Junior Cadet Leadership challange. Granted my feet have a few blisters and my arms don't want to listen to me anymore but still I made it!
My suprisingly favorite training was the confidence course (Jacobs ladder seems taller in real life O.o). I made it over every obstacle even the cargo net (another cadet wasn't so lucky. They fell probably 25 feet from it, lucky they only came away with bad bruises.)
the litter course however, thats a different story. No one enjoyed it. Not even our instructors (mostly college ROTC cadets.) Low crawling with the litter absolutly sucks, we didn't even lift it after the first move we were pretty much pushing the thing across the field. And to top it all off we were just passing the tower by the finish line when several 4 gallon buckets of water were thrown on us causing us to drop our casualty right in front of the the finish....
Rappeling was fun but not because we were repelling. The instrcutors were hilarious. SSG Conrad took the cake. We were lined up on top of the tower, there was a girl getting hooked up in front of me and she was completely pale. He asks her "Are you nervous?"
She nods yes.
"WELL YOU BETTER BE. HELL I AM I GOT ALL OF YOU CADETS IN MY HANDS AND I JUST KNOW ON OF YOU ARE GOING TO PULL ME OFF ONE DAY. BUT THATS OKAY I WOULD BE EVEN MORE SCARED IF I WEREN'T DRUNK BUT THATS JUST THE WAY I ROLL. NOW DOWN YOU GO!"
Needless to say she didn't say she was nervous at any training after that.....
