A real open world game for the first time maybe?..Sure the adventure saga had open worlds outside stages but were way more smaller than this entry

This review contains also tips for players who are going to get in (But they're way below the Story part so...Your choice)

Let's go for the story parts, shall we?..Remember, SPOILERS!

STORY

Sonic and his friends except Knuckles (Go watch the animated prologue on Youtube along IDW's Sonic Tails and Amy prologue. Short and lacking but it's something) goes investigate a signal when suddenly BOOM, they crash into a new area and Sonic's all alone

Didn't the news said that Sonic has amnesia?.. Lies, he just goes "uuugh where's my friends?". Also he learns to kick and punch for once!...And for some reason he has a blue light at his wrist whenever you interact the first puzzle but there's no way to know why he has that light and why he can move such things "outta nowhere"

So you rescue your friends, interact with their side stories (You can see some strong development with Tails from being a coward and remembering stuff like Infinite from FRONTIERS, only encouraging him to become better, and so he tries his best, but atleast this time we don't see him sitting his ass in the air and saying "Sonic, help us!" like in FRONTIERS and the IDW comic (Metal Virus arc)

Who's Sage, the little girl with white hair and corruption all over her body?. A dumb kid only to later on reveal that it's a frigging AI created by Eggman (Wow, something "human looking" for once from our fav human doc!), where Eggman considers "his daughter" (Did he ever had a daughter to begin with?.. If so ,was she like that?)

You defeat monsters , guardians, titans (With the power of the Chaos Emeralds because there's like... 7 Chaos Emeralds that are repeated in every island.. Like, do the other islands looks destroyed when not having the CEs feeding them or what the hell? XD)

Sonic tries to understand what happened to the previous civilization while listening to the "i don't give a WHAT?!" talks from Sage... Until there's a moment Sage "thinks for once" and changes sides, sometimes her body flickering from red to White robes and blue matrixes, but we barely see a permanent one because she's still under Eggman's "control" (Learning AI)

Sonic goes almost infected / corrupted everytime he saves a friend because he frees em from their cages, until their friends goes "Yay we're free--..Oh wait, Sonic's dead, let's join our forces to revive him and not be seen how we recover our bodies after the final battle!"

Did i said final battle?... Ofcourse, change the difficulty setting to HARD then you defeat the last titan and you frigging face "a moon looking planet" that's called "THE END", aka the final boss, who talks and you destroy in a Shoot Em Up fashion, but to completely destroy it and prevent it to come again Sage uses her body to go inside and control it, tell her daddy goodbye and be slashed by Super Sonic per request.

Everyone lives, gets out of the ciberspace matrix and back to normal. They go in the Tornado and leave... However, Eggman's back to his lab only to re-create the Sage AI. Hey, we've got a new canon character that might appear in the IDW comics and upcoming games!. (Cubot and Orbot are gonna get replaced?..Hopefully not)

GAMEPLAY

This isn't Sonic 06 for once. I had 2 "ground trespassing" moments to die at but that's it. Mostly camera issues, technical controls (moving, dodging, etc) that could've been refined better but not that worrysome

In the game you collect what i call "Soul fragments" to encourage ya friends and progress on the story, and also seeing the side quest events from them. Hence the "Tails considers being a better and stronger fox to not end up being a coward and depending on others , specially Sonic" moment mentioned above... Will it really be applied in future games and IDW comics?. Who knows, again...

The mechanics are simple. You unlock map areas to see it better, collect such fragments mentioned above, defeat guardians to unlock cyberspace areas to complete em ONCE to unlock the next Chaos Emerald seal to get em and get story progression (You still need more than one key to get em, so get em missions from cyberspace done, wich are fairly easy... Or...See way below for more info on legally cheating), and try to find out every easter egg the game has to offer (To be said later on)

The game's concept of exploring is mostly consisted in grinding and doing small yet numerous platform sections around the world mainly to get the soul fragments to progress on the story or sometimes get Seeds.

Seeds allows Sonic to be either stronger in attacks or have more defense (Maybe get less rings lost when attacked?. The game DOESN'T EXPLAINS IT), while there's also the "Kecos" ,little rock balls with specific designs (depending of the side story) that used to be people in ancient times that were sealed in such rocks (Think of Chaos from Adventure, having a rock instead of a heart. Now whenever they're gone their souls are inside such rocks).

Here's one of the game's bad things: SEGA will NOT tell you how many seeds and Kecos you need to have a single level up on each stats... Lemme tell ya my theory:

-1 seed to begin with to have a single level up on strenght/defense, but at certain point it might need 3 or 5 to go on... Or maybe initially it's 5

-Always 12 Kecos to increase a single level of Rings and Speed

The level cap is 99. How do you get the trophies related to reaching LVL 99 at each stat?. Either you farm like crazy and spend hours around the worlds, or.....

Big's Fishing minigame !!!

Ok, i'm sure you guys have already seen this already, but lemme tell ya, this is the only way to progress way more faster and legally in the game and trophies.

You meet Big in 4 of the 5 islands in the game. Each area partially has new fishes to fish out. Fish out?..YES!.. With the most calmest song in the entire game called "Fishing Vibes" (Youtube it out!).

You grab purple coins around the map or at certain nights in the game there's the "Stardust rain" where stardust fragments are on the floor respawning all the time and then there's machine slot (777 guys!...But Sonic games' icons only, sorry!). You grab as many fragments as ya can to make the machine of working and there's a few outcomes. 3 Keco icons = 30 Kecos. 3 fishing icons = 50 FISHING COINS...Random icons = 1 unit of each shown icon

Back to the fishing. You use these coins to fish. It's super easy. Press X outta nowhere in the water (Don't touch the analog stick, it doesn't changes a hing) and once the bait's caught press X, wait for a red circle to appear and match the "coming out from the center" white circle inside the red circle. You get a fish (or junk) and you get between 1 and 16? fishing tokens (In the last isle you get between 8 and 46? tokens!!). Some junk are from the Sonic games like a yellow spring, the Robotnik "sign" at the end of each Classic Sonic stages (but 3D'tized)

Now, you better do some early fishing at the beginning of the game and buy like 99 red seeds and 99 blue seeds to OP yourself out for the rest of the game. Do not buy Skill Fragments, you can easily get em by doing stunts (Skill) or killing enemies or destroying some items (Boxes, capsules...)

Why?...They're VERY VERY CHEAP, like 2 or 3 tokens for a single seed and 10? for Kecos. You need around +2000 Kecos for LVL 99 both Speed and Rings and the rest for the red/blue seeds. You can also buy Soul Fragments (specially for the last island), keys to unlock/get the Chaos Emeralds and other items but the stats are important because once you get all skills... Defeating a guardian takes less than a minute and a titan takes less than 2 minutes if you use Dodge+Square/any other button (You eat like...Almost 1/4 of it's life per hit and takes 3-5 seconds to do the next one...ON NORMAL!)

However leveling up Rings/Speeds is, probably, one big downscore for the game. It takes a long time to level up...One by one you give the 12 Kecos to the Keco elder in the map...And you must watch a little animation...No, SEGA didn't put a "How many levels ya wanna go up?" and put ya entire bag of Kecos in it, nooooo... Be slow as hell...I did this this way to go 99

However the blue/red seeds are given out and you insta-level up to the level that matches the number of seeds given

Another thing to mention about leveling up is that there's NO MENTION OF HOW MANY SEEDS OR KECOS YOU NEED TO LEVEL UP.... You are just left there wondering!...

You're also kinda forced in the last island of the game to atleast "just complete" the Cyberspaces to unlock all the Emerald sites.. If they don't you can either do side missions from cyberspace (All red rings (they're saved between completed runs!), S RANK (It's just reach the goal ASAP), get atleast X rings..)).....Or simply get the keys from Big! XD (Love you, buddy, seriously, you're USEFUL FOR ONCE)

OTHER STORY/FUN FACTS

Remember when SEGA said "Everything's canon" in the games etc?...Well, remember the Sonic IDW comics?...Remember...*GASP!*....Tangle and Whisper?..Remember...*GASP!!!!* STICKS?!...AND OTHER CHARACTERS?! (Rouge, Shadow, Omega, Knux, Amy...)

.....Yes, they're MENTIONED in the game (Except Whisper.. God dammit) as part of easter eggs where you make Sonic WALK into certain areas and a quote is triggered, but it's random to happen (I tried a New Game, skipped cutscenes, and nothing!).

I was like "What kind of TIME PARADOX!!! are we with Sticks?..She's supposed to be in Sonic Boom only, like an Alternate Universe (AU) !!!!"... Well, SEGA and maybe Ian Flynn smoked something big to make this miracle to happen. We'll see them in another "Adventure/FRONTIERS" like game?...Hopefully...OR ELSE!...

Remember when i said "Sage dies by being hit by Super Sonic by her own petition"?...Eggman's later on seen doing computer business only to reconstruct Sage..

Sage voice: "Father?..."
Eggman: "That's my girl..."

Expect more suicidal Sage and father and daughter moments! XD

VEREDICT

Did i liked the game?. While it was nice to read the story with a few flaws maybe and enjoying doing the side content, the technical flaws made it just a bit harder to let me enjoy the game... But i still liked it.

Will i replay it?...No. I already did the PLATINUM TROPHY in just 20h. There's more stuff i gotta finish (Hey, i haven't been drawing because i needed a BREAK...)

Hopefully the next Sonic game includes Tangle, Whisper and Sage again along Sticks... They need to be included. Sonic Adventure 3, please?...No hopes, but there's always wishing for it... Or make ya own fanfic/fancomic about it. Just take your time

I've been doing a tad bit better from the eye topic. Using some anti inflamatory eyedrops to reduce some inside-puffy eyelid near the eye. Seems to work (whenever it wants)

Art sense, a commission coming soon, along an inflated Loona pic while practicing an art style i've found on the net that matches, somehow, what i wanted to do. Who knows if it'll work

My PC had a virus that prevented Discord and some app installation folders to not launch, giving 2 kind of errors depending of both mentioned types of stuff when launched

Depression and stress along dirty stomach happened for 2-3 days until a kind Reddit soul reached out to me and told me to do some things, along another forum

All SSDs and internal/external HDDs and pendrives are now cleaned. Deleted apps coz of the virus were recovered in a clean way. After that i did 2-3 virus scans to see if it was still there

Formatted the PC while deleting the OS's UEFI/Recovery partitions that might've contained the virus. Everything seems fine for now except me, whose's still recovering from the shock and all

As for the eye topic my eyelids are being much less redder and inflated thanks to a gel but the sight on the right eye remains the same slightly blurry/double words, i think, just a tiny bit better but still not sure if it's the virical conjunctivitis still trolling or a dried eye issue (wich's worse and permanent). Will go to the doc on friday as asked and if it doesn't gets better i'll ask another doc from the same clinic for a better checkup

As for art well, no arts until i feel better, along progressing on some games that were left to dust for a long time (SOUL HACKERS 2 being the main one)

I was given a couple of days ago a contact lens for my left eye coz the inflated eyelids (ewww) made the eyelashes (or something inside the eyelids) to scratch the left cornea, hurting badly..

After some eyedrops the doc removed the lens and told me to keep with the same treatment and an ol' dry eye treatment i was doing. So far i'm still feeling the "scarring and dried" cornea wound rolling around, but in a few days (or weeks...) it should be healed

As for the real situation, i'm having a Virical Conjunctivitis, meaning both eyes are RED AS FUCKING TOMATOES... Left one pinkier tho, while right eye half filled red. Left eye is BLURRY AS FUCK while right eye just a tiny bit

Going back to the doc this wednesday... If it improves i'll be able to go back to work, though this issue is ALLERGIC AND TRANSFEARABLE so if shit goes wrong i might've do my 1st ever "Sick Call" in 12-13 years of job...

We'll see...

My eyes got an unknown allergy that made the eyelids to puff up, besides of conjuntivitis becoming worse with both eyes all red

To top it all, my left eyelashes scratched the left eye's cornea, causing a horrible pain during the entire yesterday, and even now i still have it but much lesser, yet painful (i type with my right eye and it still makes my left one to get hurted slightly)

No more art until this bullshit is solved, and could take a couple of weeks or more...

So i've been having this issue for a few weeks, a SKIN conjuntivitis surrounding my eyes (not the eyes themselves!) and had a treatment that seemed to work, but shortly after it came back and even worse

I did another treatment and this one just dried the hell out of my skin, creating gaps, crusts and well, a tiny mess..

Starting today i am doing another set of treatments, hopefully this one works, but shit, i look like a junkie with dark red-like skin surrounding my eyes ==;;;

Will be coming back to art slowly as ya might've noticed with my newest Amy Rose FLCL cosplay pic, just... Not in a good mood

BRAVELY DEFAULT 2 (PC) COMPLETED (TRUE ENDING)

.....Now what should i draw?...

Just ragequitted BRAVELY DEFAULT 2 for PC due to how unfair the game can be at certain story boss (No, not the "animal girl") but a close to end-game boss

So i've farmed a shit ton of enemies, did a TON of (EASY ALL OF THEM) sidequests as i see em, only to see that i barely get any exp at LVL 50 and once ya reach such boss you lose in almost a flash, and even if you get an anti-rage item equipped the boss goes like "That won't save ya"

So yeah, i'll check the ending online and get back to art, hopefully...Close to 30h wasted

Perhaps the Deviantart killer if you register before the site goes off-beta (ad-free, etc etc..)
