Why do people feel obligated to try and push their beliefs onto others? Everyone thinks they've got things figured out, that's just human nature, but how freaking arrogant do you have to be to think that others ought to think like you? Though I'm not sure it should be called "anime" since it's Korean.

The title is "Yobi The Five-Tailed Fox." It's obviously aimed at children and Korean ones at that. There are subplots that never really go anywhere, weird characters (one appears to be the spirit of a toilet bowl) and a couple of points where the soundtrack takes an out-of-place dip into techno-industrial territory.

Yobi is a multi-tailed fox, a character that should be familiar to anyone acquainted with Chinese, Japanese, or Korean mythology. There are also aliens that eat a lot of screentime without contributing much. Weird, weird movie...can't stress that enough.

One thing the film definitely has going for it is visual style. The forest backgrounds are, frankly, some of the finest I've ever seen. There is also some sophisticated CGI rendering of plantlife and dead leaves. If the movie had spent more time on the budding friendship between our two protagonists and dropped all of the superfluous elements, this would have been a real gem. As it stands, it's a good-looking movie that unfortunately suffers from excess baggage.

Recommended for those with a keen interest in animation and/or weird kids' films. There is not an English dub as far as I know. Available on Netflix.

You know, I used to think that furry artists were generally assholes. The logic behind this was that since people were always sucking up in hopes of scoring some free art, it would feed into the artists' egos and eventually turn them into jerks.

And you know what? That's actually true for a lot of them. That said, I've met a surprising number of furry artists who are just as chill and friendly as you could ever want...and not as some kind of disingenuous ploy to sell art, but people who are actually that nice. That's a wonderful thing.

I've been so cynical for so long...to think that there would be people I would enjoy doing business with, it's beyond difficult to conceive... yet here we are.

I've been a part of this fandom for better than 15 years now. It took a long time to learn to appreciate it, but I love it. There are always people who poop in the punchbowl, but I've met many fascinating, beautiful people as well. So, if you're among the latter, go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back, preferably of butter.

There once was someone I loved very much. I don't know why I did. We weren't close, hell, I barely knew her. "Sinister" it was called. It was a supernatural horror movie. That's all I'm sayin' so I don't spoil anything. Horror fans will probably like it. Non-horror fans...don't usually like horror movies as a rule, na?
