Still here!
Posted 2 years agoHello all! How are things with you?
Yes, I'm not dead yet, though to be honest, that was a concern for a bit. Granted, I may have over-reacted to what happened, but I just couldn't help being concerned, what with all of the bleeding whenever I went to the little artist's room.
There were some doctor visits here and some CT scans there, but nothing definitive. No internal bleeding, which is good, but nothing to say where the bleeding was happening, or why. In any event, doesn't seem like anything too serious. Seems whatever happened is pretty much done. Would've liked an actual answer, but oh well. Nothing to do, but keep an eye out for anything like that happening again ( which I hope it won't). Until then, I'm gonna try getting back to work!

Think I'm better now.
Posted 3 years agoIf you saw my Twitter message, you would've heard I've been ill lately.
But, after a slight sinus infection, mixed with a touch of chlorine poisoning ( seriously ) I'm good to go. Just need to get rid of this nagging cough...

I need to move, darn it...
Posted 4 years agoA week before Christmas, some jerk stole a tire off my car.
Ten minutes ago, the dumpster literally 6 feet outside my apartment window caught ( was set on? ) fire.
I gotta get out of here.

Oi, the tech...
Posted 4 years agoDon't know what it is with me and the tech I use, but we don't seem to get along as well as I hoped. Computer just went down again. Had to do a wipe and reload of Windows on my machine to get it up and running again. Fortunately, since I've had these computer issues so often, I make sure my files are frequently and redundantly backed up, so the only thing lost is time.
Since I'm on the topic of software, I'm finding myself kinda paralyzed by all the options I suddenly find myself with. As I mentioned in my last journal entry, I've gotten my hands on a piece of animation software that I'm actually able to wrap my head around. I've been trying to find as many tutorials on it as I can ( difficult to find any that aren't behind paywalls ) and I'm starting to think I could really do something with it. And therein lies my dilemma...
I would really like to make cartoons! I've been very good at talking about all of the ideas I have in my head with things like SOLAR, yet pretty bad at actually DOING them. I think doing it as a cartoon would be feasible. All of the assets I've gathered to do the SOLAR comic are sitting on my hard drive collecting e-dust and, since its just me, doing a short story like SOLAR could be a much better idea than doing anything more longform like Jeryal or Kimyou University (even though I would love to do those too). Given it took a few weeks to make that minute video, I'm sure it would take about 6 months to a year ( conservatively ) to finish. My problem there is a lack of voice actors to put it together. I'm not in a position to pay anyone properly, and I couldn't in good conscience ask someone to without compensation...unless I just do all the voice acting myself. I'm sure no one would mind that, right? lol
On the other hand.....
I would really like to make a video game! While looking at tutorials on the animation software, I've seen some where other creators use it to create characters that they export into game engines. And I've also been looking at tutorials for the Unity game engines for a while also ( and on that subject, just started looking at some for the Unreal Engine too ). I think that would be the crown jewel in this silly online career I've thrusted myself into. And, unlike the cartoon idea above, it's something I could do that wouldn't require the voice actors. It would be nice, but I've seen games people love that still just display character dialogue as text on screen. Of course, me being me, I would want to go all in for an RPG that would tie in to Kimyou University. My issue there, of course, would be the time. Even if I don't have to make all of my assets from scratch and even if I'm able to make the game without having to do much coding, I'm sure it would still take...I dunno...at minimum 5 years to even make an RPG that sucks, never mind a half-decent one.
That's where I am now. I'm still working on my comics, where my computer issues allow, but I would like to take things a step beyond. Do I try to find the missing resources to make relatively quick cartoons, or should I try making a long-term commitment to game-dev? Or maybe I should curb my ambition and just make a comic series from start to finish for a change?
...maybe before I do any of those things, I should just buy a brand new computer, so I won't have so many issues?
Oh people, my people, what say you?

Oh people, my people, what say you?
The wait was not worth it...
Posted 5 years agoOh people, my people!
It’s been a long time since my last update, and before everyone goes off on their holiday, I thought I should post something. I was hoping I’d have something better to share, but after some thought, and tinkering, I think the best thing to do would be to scrap what I’m doing and start from scratch.
It’s kind of sad too. I had a post ready about how I’ve finally leveled up to my ultimate form...instead, it’s more like I leveled up to a new class, where I am technically better than I was before, but in actuality, I’m still pretty shit. Lol
So instead of something awesome, I now share with you all, my latest embarrassment. I have lots to learn in the coming days. I hope when I do, and if that SISEA porn ban doesn’t pass, it will be something good. J

Some news
Posted 5 years agoHello, all!
Yes, I've, unfortunately, been away a bit longer than I should've been. Unfortunately, I've been having some issues. No, don't have Corona or anything. To tell the truth, I prefer Sam Adams anyway.
The biggest reason for my absence....I got a new laptop! Double the memory of the old one I was using ( though somehow slower at the same time)! The best thing is, I have a fully working keyboard now! The last one I got was a refurbished junker with a lot of keys that did not work. It was good enough to get me back up and going, but it was annoying having to use the virtual keyboard. The new one even has Windows 10 instead of the older laptop's Windows 7! Unfortunately, I think that may be where my issue lies...
My poor Wacom tablet is fairly old, so I don't know how compatible it is with Windows 10. When I'm in Photoshop, a lot of the little shortcuts I used on the old computer don't seem to work with the new one, which is really slowing me down as far as making pics. Maybe there are some tweaks to settings I can make, but for now, its rather frustrating.
In better and, more cryptic news, another reason for my long absence is the fact that I've gotten my hands on a new piece of software that I've been trying my hardest to learn. If I can, it could completely change the way I produce content in the future! In fact, I'm working on my first project now with that piece of software and I'm hoping to have something to show for it soon. But, until then, I'll try my best to keep up with things here a bit better.
That's all for the moment!
