Homecoming Release 3 - QoL Update
Posted 6 years agoHey there, guys. Frostclaw here with an important announcement regarding Homecoming.
So, we have been made aware of a bug that affected the Android release. I am pleased to say that I believe I have found what may have caused this bug in the first place. However, you may have noticed that there are now two Android versions of Release 3. This is due to how Android's architecture works. The two versions are labelled as follows:
Homecoming (Release 3) - Android (armeabi-v7a) and Homecoming (Release 3) - Android (Chromebook). The armeabi-v7a version is said to be compatible with most smartphones and tablets, while the Chromebook version is for, you guessed it, the Chromebook, as well as some other phone models. The chances are that if one version doesn't work after several attempts, the other version might.
An additional change you may also have noticed, is that the file size of this release is significantly smaller than what it previously was. This is due to the conversion of some assets, thereby effectively compressing the size.
Please don't hesitate to let us know if there are still any issues. It is our continued endeavour to bring you an experience you enjoy.

This account is now the official Stormsinger Studios FA page
Posted 6 years agoAfter talking it over with my partner Devilizer, we decided it would be a good idea to convert this account to a studio page, that way everything stays clean and organized as we develop Homecoming further. I may or may not decide to make a new personal account here someday.

Homecoming ~Morenatsu Revisited~ Preview Event August 19th
Posted 7 years agoHeya!
To celebrate Torahiko's birthday on August 19th, I'm going to do a special Homecoming ~Morenatsu Revisited~ preview stream on my Twitch channel!
I will be streaming on August 19th starting at 6:00PM PST demonstrating the game's introduction and showing off a few paths of your choice.
I'll choose the characters with the three highest vote counts to be previewed. Please note that Kyouji and Soutarou are left out of the poll because their branch is still in development and isn’t ready yet. If you'd like to vote on which characters for me to preview, follow the link below to a poll I made:

A Note on the Art in "Homecoming ~Morenatsu Revisited~"
Posted 7 years agoHey everyone! I hope you are doing well!
So far the reception to the announcement of Homecoming has been extremely positive, which the team here at Stormsinger Studios is quite proud of! We've noticed one common point of contention popping up often though that I'd like to address.
We understand that not everyone is going to be comfortable with such a drastic change in art style for a game that many hold close to their hearts. As the project director, perhaps it is time that I explain my reason for making this change.
We hear the requests to make the art style closer to the original, and while we appreciate the feedback, that's exactly what we're trying NOT to do. Past attempts by other projects to make a similar art style have always been met with just as much backlash. We decided that it was best for the Homecoming project to steer the art direction in a completely new direction, both providing a new experience for players and avoiding the pitfalls of trying too hard to emulate what's been done before. Going with a new art style allows us to address problems the original game had, too. A big example is the use of photographs instead of drawn backgrounds, which is something I'm hard at work trying to improve.
What people need to understand is this is a free project. The team at Stormsinger Studios are making this game because we are huge fans of the original game. We will not accept money because we feel it goes against the integrity of the project. Seeing as art is a subjective issue, what some people might like, others won't, therefore it is unrealistic to try and address every single criticism we get since it's an impossible task to try and please everyone. Even if we had the best artists on the team, it likely wouldn't be enough since they won't be the exact same art and artist as the original game that people fell in love with.
With that said, we are going to stick with what we're working on, as I believe it is representative of the passion we have for the project. We understand that this isn't to everyone's preference, but my decision as the project director is final in this matter.
Thank you for your time.

Morenatsu ~Revisited~ Rumors Discussion
Posted 7 years agoHey guys! I hope you've had a wonderful April so far!
I've been contacted several times and have seen some unexpected rumors floating around concerning a topic in Morenatsu ~Revisited~ that I'd like to address.
As some of you may already know, we've been working on creating sprites for some of the prominent female characters in the game. This is with the intent of creating a fuller, richer experience for all players in the hopes of further immersing them in Minasato. It's come to my attention lately that there are players out there who disagree with their implementation. Regardless of their stance on this, I want to point out that you are not required to see them if you don't want to, just turn the in-game art settings for sprites to the “Classic” mode and you'll only see the sprites the original team created.
Now, for the bigger concern. There have been rumors that because these sprites for female characters exist, it necessarily means I'm planning to have female ROUTES in Morenatsu ~Revisited~. I am going to dispel this rumor right here and now: Just because there are prominent female characters in this version of the game doesn't mean that these characters are getting routes! Morenatsu is still a gay-oriented visual novel and is something I never planned to change. Wherever you're hearing rumors like these, know that unless you hear an official word coming from ME, it's most likely not true.
Thank you for your time.

Now Streaming Stuff!
Posted 7 years agoHey everyone!
I've been streaming myself playing games to my boyfriend lately and figured I'd open it up for others to watch as well.
I usually play rhythm games when I feel like it, but if this thing gets a bit of traction, I might consider using it to stream some sneak peeks of upcoming updates for Morenatsu ~Revisited~!

4/2/18 Morenatsu ~Revisited~ Development Update
Posted 7 years agoHey everyone, hope you had a good April Fools day yesterday! (And Easter, for those it's relevant to!)
I also hope you enjoyed the surprise update we put out. If it caught you off-guard, then it served its purpose!
There are several things I'd like to discuss going forward.
Due to several things happening over March, we've had to push back the real March update until April 15th at the earliest. I came down with the flu shortly after releasing 0.3.6, which put me out of commission for nearly two weeks. Then, as fate would have it, Devilizer's computer died around the same time I recovered, delaying any further art. Fortunately, I'm over the flu now and Dev has a new computer to play around with, so we're frantically trying to get things done so we don't fall much further behind. Thank you for being patient.
On a more serious note, there was another incident that needs addressing, and it concerns the fate of the bonus routes I know a lot of you were looking forward to. Due to creative differences, we've amicably parted ways with our secondary writer, Frostclaw, who was in charge of writing the bonus routes and proofreading the project. After much deliberation, Devilizer and I decided that from this point on, we're gonna have to keep the development team for Revisited closed.
Concerning bonus routes, though, while there may not be any officially endorsed ones in the game when Revisited is finally finished, I have some good news. Because we plan on releasing the source code for the game when it's done, ANYBODY (including you!) can make a bonus route for your favorite character if you're so inclined! All I ask is that you remain patient while the rest of the game is developed.
Lastly, I want to talk about translations. Again, since the source code will be released when the game is finished, you'll be free to translate the game into whatever language you prefer. All I ask is that you remain patient! I've had many, many people ask if they could translate what's already written for the game, but my primary concern has always been that the translations you guys do will be immediately out of date when the next update is released. I also regularly go back to old content to change details so everything stays consistent, so in all likelihood, translators would have to retranslate from scratch frequently. For your sake (and mine), I would prefer if all translation efforts waited until the game is further along. Thank you for understanding.
This is not to say I'm against translation! I acknowledge this project wouldn't even exist without the efforts of the English translation team. However, I don't like seeing people wasting their time on something, especially when its a project I'm working on.
That should just about cover it, I think. Thanks for reading this far! I hope I've answered some important questions and addressed any concerns you might have.
Cheers!

1/26/18 Morenatsu ~Revisited~ Roadmap Update
Posted 7 years agoHey guys! I hope these updates aren't getting annoying!
I'm going to make another change to the roadmap...
By killing it off.
Now, don't panic! The project is still continuing!
However, I realized recently how stressed I've been trying to get everything together for these updates. There's no way I was going to be able to finish Kouya's full route by the deadline I set. With all the changes in my life and an increased workload at my job, I've had less and less free time to devote exclusively to the project. In fact, I came to the realization I haven't had time for myself since I started the project all the way back in June of 2017!
Another thing I realized is that the amount of content I'd be putting out for these updates would greatly exceed what's put out monthly for the paid VNs like Echo and Blackgate. Talking it over with my boyfriend, we've agreed that I need to get things under control or else I'll end up burning out (which is something that almost happened to me after update 0.2).
Here is my plan going forward: I am going to release an update to Revisited every month, but it's not going to be what was previously listed on the roadmap. I am going to rotate route updates between the 6 remaining characters to keep things fresh for me. What this means for you is you might start seeing updates to your favorite characters earlier than you anticipated! On the negative side, please understand that these updates won't be the full routes for these characters either.
Instead of a roadmap, I am going to leave a list of planned features we're going to implement into the project over time. Expect this to be updated as we progress further with the project.
Anyway, this is getting a little long-winded.
Hope you are doing well!

1/1/2018 Morenatsu ~Revisited~ Roadmap Update
Posted 8 years agoHappy new years, everyone! I hope 2018 treats you well!
I continue to be astonished and flattered by the positive response Revisited is getting every day that goes by. Thank you everyone, you're all amazing!
With the number of eyes on the project now, I feel I need to step my game up a bit. This is a pretty radical change and I'm not sure everyone will appreciate it, but from this point on ALL ROUTES are going to be written from scratch (this includes the following characters: Kouya, Kounosuke, Shun, Torahiko, Kyouji, Soutarou). This doesn't mean I'm scrapping already-written content for the characters that have stuff, but I may end up adding more day events before the camping trip.
To accommodate this, I need to space things out on the roadmap to give me a little room to breathe. I'm going to separate updates into “major” and “minor” tiers. On the 15th of every odd-numbered month (like January), I plan to release a minor update that adds new pre-camping trip events and potentially new features. Near the end of even-numbered months (like February), I'll release a major update that adds the full final route for the character I'm working on. Who knows, if I manage to finish all the pre-camping days I want to write, I may have time to start working on... BONUS ROUTES!
As always, expect new art assets and music with each update. Thank you again for supporting this project!
Cheers,
Dzahn

Morenatsu ~Revisited~ Roadmap Update
Posted 8 years agoHello everyone,
I've had a few major life changes this month which will affect the rate I'm able to work on the project. When I first put this roadmap together, I made it with the assumption that I'd be able to keep the same pace I had since I started working on it in June.
Unfortunately, I came dangerously close to burnout a few weeks ago, so I'm reevaluating everything and putting it in a more realistic timeline. Sorry, I don't mean to disappoint you guys...
I want to stress that it is still a work in progress, though! Everything I write down on the roadmap is subject to change!
https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8439549/
Thank you for your patience,

This means that the below roadmap is no longer relevant. I'm keeping it around for archival purposes though.

1/26/18 Update:
Hey guys!
Dzahn
